I’m not sure if this is along the same lines but I wish the mad king back piece was account bound rather than soul bound. I would really like to use it on my necromancer but alas, it’s stuck on another character.
I’m assuming this is the sort of item you’re referring to. If not, well, I still wish for this anyway.
Awesome! Now if we could get some permanent tools without all the affects, I’d be set.
My thoughts exactly. I really want a set of tools but I like things to look normal sometimes and that’s the case here. I hope they add a plain set for 800 gems.
Nevermind, went over and spoke to Marjory and she let me back in. Yay!
I brought my character to Kessex Hills and it logged me into the story instance as it’s supposed to. Unfortunately I disconnected in there and when I came back, I was in Kessex Hills. Even if I exit and re-enter, it keeps bringing me back to Kessex Hills. How do I participate in the solo story instance?
I would like /sigh. I’m really quite amazed that there aren’t more emotes in the game. It’s such a great world for RP yet there are so few RP options (emotes, sitting in chairs, etc). It’s fairly disappointing honestly.
I like this idea, actually. It would make it a lot easier to remember I even have food. :P
I’d be happy with that or even paying for it. I don’t care either way, I just think the option should be there in some capacity. It takes a lot of time to get a guild leveled up and we’ve done a lot in the past week or two. But even though we like the name we have, we’ve found that we’re not getting much (if any) interest at all and I fear it could be our name.
I know this has been stated elsewhere before but I think it’s time to have this re-suggested. As someone who runs a guild who has acquired a decent bit of influence, but isn’t necessarily so happy with the name that we had chosen, it would be really nice to be able to change it.
I’m actually slightly surprised they haven’t put this in yet, to be honest.
Race: Necromancer
Sex: Female
Profession: Necromancer
Armor Set: Wintersday Earmuffs
Description: I’m using the new Asura hairstyle with the two pigtails in the front and long one in the back. The armor over my ears is clipping through to the earmuffs. Usually the earmuffs just hide the ears, but for whatever reason they don’t disappear with this hairstyle.
I’ve attached two screenshots for your consideration. Hope this can be fixed by Christmas, because these earmuffs are adorable!
Is that the issue, they don’t run as fast as us? Today is the first time I’ve ever taken one out, so I don’t know a lot about them. I just noticed he was like 2 miles behind me and it was driving me insane.
Whatever the issue, it needs to be fixed because it’s annoying to even use them, which saddens me because they’re pretty cool.
I was wondering if maybe in a future patch, you guys could shorten the leash (quite a bit) on our mini pets. These things run so far behind us that they might as well not be with us at all.
And if they did return people would complain about how they just recycle content and that doing them is pointless because they will just keep coming back.
I’d agree, but if it came back with NEW content, as we’ve seen right now, then I can’t imagine complaining about it. Why? It’s more content to do. I love content, especially if there is a lot of it for me to work on.
I think there could have been a healthy medium here. Bring back the old, bring in the new = everyone’s a happy trick or treater!
Yeah, that one had me cracking up. Especially the Mad King explaining his disappointment. So funny!
Yeah, pretty bummed about this myself. Last year, Sandy struck and took out my power for almost a month. I didn’t get to do a lot of the events unfortunately.
But at least there are new ones to work towards, I guess.
Is it only possible to get the door achievement in the Labyrinth this year?
Yes. I’ve definitely been working towards mine within the labyrinth.
Totally agree. I thought for sure there would be a new one to collect. Highly disappointed.
Haven’t seen it either. :\
Yep, I too was pretty disappointed by the lack of costumes. It’s something I was really looking forward to. I really hope they put some into the shop soon… I fear that we won’t be seeing one though, since it’s not even mentioned on the shop stuff on the front page. :\
Yes, I’d pretty much buy any expansion they came out with. Love the game.

Could not agree more, Zoltreez! I don’t mind spending cash when it’s warranted, heck, even if they opened it up as a la carte purchases or something, it would suck, but I’d probably be willing just so I knew what was going on and had a lot of content to play through.
Thank you both.
I do hope they let us replay it, I’m interested in it, but really needed to take some time away.
So… I took a break, it happens to me in every game. I can’t ever just concentrate on one MMO – I constantly find myself jumping around.
This has its upsides and downsides, but the major downside I’ve noted for GW2 is this living story thing. It goes on and on, but from what I can tell, none of the previous content lives on in the game, making it incredibly hard for someone like me to catch up and figure out what in the blazes is going on.
I’m wondering, Arena Net, if you guys are planning on a replay of any of this? If not, is there somewhere that someone like me can catch up on the story so they know what the heck is going on?
I wish ALL of the LS stayed in the game so I could catch up and get a chance to figure out what the heck is going on. I mean, I don’t know if it’s all in the game, I’m assuming it’s not. I’m just returning after a break and I’m so completely lost at this point.
I don’t know who Scarlet is, I don’t know why people are kitten ed off about her and I wish all the previous content was still in, just so I could catch up and know what the heck everyone is on about.
Can one of you please check out the “Thistle” plant and see if you get inspired by that? It’s basically what my character is currently based on, but I think it could make a totally awesome hairstyle.
Wow, thank you all for all the feedback.
It’s definitely given me some food for thought.
That’s quite true. But I don’t think you can transmute the light armor to heavy, unfortunately.
I am trying out Guardian right now and it’s been interesting.
If anyone has any other suggestions or advice, I’d be happy to hear it.
I’ve not actually tried out a guardian yet, but the aesthetics of them (heavy armor that is), is not super appealing to me. Though perhaps I really ought to give them a better look.
Hey there guys,
So I know you get asked these sorts of questions all the time and I apologize but I’m adding mine to the mix.
I’m currently looking for a decent all-around class that can do decently in solo, dungeons & PvP. That being said, I’m looking perhaps at more of a support role? I know there is no “true” healing class, but I’d like to be able to support my mates and such, while providing decent DPS to the group.
So I’m looking at Elementalist, Mesmer and Necromancer as my top three interests.
Any advice is welcomed!
Thanks much.
Tarnished Coast is an excellent server in my experience. It’s the unofficial home to the roleplayers and thus it has a pretty tight knit community of players. I’ve come across very few buttheads in my time since launch.
I can’t, however, answer anything regarding the PvX in the game personally, as I have yet to play any of it. But as far as reasons you shouldn’t buckle down, I can’t think of any! Hang out, check it out. I think you’ll like it here.
I wish they’d make stacks larger-sized. For instance all of those stacks of 25 could easily be made into stacks of 200 or something. They should really consider this. You can only buy so much bag and bank space. I, too, hate the idea of bank alts.
Currently using 2 & 10 (female).
I’d like to see Tengu’s or Skritt, but they’ve already stated that Skritt are off the table.
As a roleplayer, this greatly saddens me because I have such an awesome idea for a Skritt guild.
I’ve come here to suggest that the mini pet leash be modified to be much much closer to the PC. They straggle like a mile behind me. It’s so pointless. It would also be nice if they stayed spawned when you travel through portals/waypoints…
Also, the ability to name the mini pet would be awesome.
Honestly, while Costume Brawls are okay, I would really like for dueling. I wasn’t a fan of dueling in World of Warcraft, but I think it could be really fun, given the way combat is set up in Guild Wars 2.
I hope they get around to adding this sooner than later.
I think I’ve been having this issue lately as well. I noticed it when my character begins to run. I usually stop, start running again, and it’s okay for a little while.
It’s really annoying.
I use proper grammar, punctuation, spelling and capitalization. I cannot stand it when people don’t use periods. It makes them look like morons and it drives me insane.
I use a Logitech G13 for all MMO’s and at this point, after using it the last three or so years, I can honestly say that I couldn’t /don’t want to ever play a game without it at this point. I HIGHLY recommend it.
Asuras are different looking Dwarfs.
Honestly, I think we look more like gnomes or goblins…
I’m going to add more hairstyle options to the Asura/Charr/Sylvari and I’m going to make chairs interact-able!
I just think that with a character creation system as deep as Guild Wars 2’s, there is definitely room for more options, especially where certain races such as Asura, Charr & Sylvari are concerned.
All three of these races really have very few options compared to that of the Humans or Norn.
Asura only have six faces and six hairstyles to choose from for both male and female and that pretty much blows since it renders many of us looking inevitably the same as the next Asura.
We just need some diversity!
I hope they never add them to this game, ever, under any circumstance. It’s one of the main reasons I loathed GW1 & SWTOR. They, in my opinion, have no place in an MMO. In an MMO you’re supposed to work together with other people. So find other people to play with.
For the record, even ANet says, GW1 was not an MMO.
So my friends and I have been discussing this a lot lately and it’s something that is weighing heavily on us as roleplayers.
The world of Tyria is filled with chairs, tons upon tons, of chairs, yet we cannot sit on these and are instead forced to stand or sit on the floor.
Can you please add object interaction sometime in the relatively near future? This game is so fantastic in so many ways. It’s incredibly easy to immerse oneself in the game, but the need for object interaction is really high.
Thank you. ^^
Totally in agreement. When I see the amount of hairstyles for most of the other races, my jealousy level goes sky high! Please add some more hairstyles. All of my Asura current look the same.
Congratulations!
I didn’t meet my husband via online gaming (we met through our parents as children), but because it was a long distance relationship, gaming is how we hung out together, every day except weekends (when we could actual see each other).
This year made 11 years together, we’ll hit 2 years married in September.
Gaming ftw! lol. Oh and while we have plenty of separate interests/hobbies, we still game together (or in the same room) kitten near every night.
I happen to be pretty anti-religious. My “spiritual” views are confusing and not all that “spiritual”.
Anyhow, that being said, while I avoid the topic of religion as much as I can in real life, I can honestly say that I enjoy it being in a video game.
My first MMO of all time was a 2D-pixel-based-game called Dark Ages by Nexon (now KRU). One of the main facets of the game was in fact religion. Each person would eventually have to choose the deity in which they wished the character to worship, because each character would inevitably die and need someone to “heal their scars” or they would want ports and such to other zones, etc.
People made the game what they wanted and actually had their own masses and such that discussed the in-game religions. There were also politics that were player-run entirely but that’s a discussion for another day (and trust me – it was fairly awesome).
So, I’ve personally had some terrific experiences with religion in MMO’s. I feel it adds depth to the character and the backstory of the race in general. I, being an Asura, don’t really have a religion per se. We believe in the theory or ideology of the Eternal Alchemy, but it’s not exactly a religion. However, the ideology definitely has gone into the making of my character’s overarching backstory.
So, anyhow, I digress. While I’m really anti-religion in the real world due to all the kitten-storms it creates, I am really, quite happy to have religion in a video game since at the end of the day, no one gives a kitten about any of, since it’s character-based. The only time you’ll see any animosity towards it, is probably in an RP situation, if that.
I know this horse has been beaten to death about 100 times over, but now that we have the ability to purchase hairstyle kits, can we please have more hairstyles? Especially for Asura. Every other race except Asura and maybe Charr, have a plethora of hairstyles; I know for sure Asura have a total of six per gender and this is ridiculous.
You have one of the best character creators out there for MMO’s but you’re lacking some serious options for some of these particular races.
I’m sure this will get bowled over pretty quickly, but I feel better adding my voice to the mix.
Please add more customization options.
Haven’t had any lag… Hm.
I’d have to second this. A lot of the gear leveling up is repeated throughout leveling and it would be nice to have a lot more options between levels 1-79 and then of course at 80.
As for Asura, it sure would be nice if the females had their own female armor. Not asking for anything skimpy, that would be creepy, but something more feminine would be wonderful.
