i am redownloading gw2 and its almost finished i think, my .dat file is at 13,7gb but it suddendly crashed and a crash report popped up. What do i do now? no matter what, the downloader wont continue.. it will just download some mb and then crakittentached the error log.
Your system has a little less then 4GB of ram (Shows as 3582MB – Shared Ram with Onboard Video?).
GW2.exe looks to be using about 2.7GB of your physical Ram (Estimating, it doesnt break it down in the report).
From what I have seen, GW2.exe likes to crash at 2.8-3.1GB of ram used against the gw2.exe application.
Aside from that, you have 4GB of ram, with GW2 and windows(dunno what else you have running), you have only 847MB of physical ram free. And due to that you are swapping alot of memory into the page file, about 1246MB of virtual ram is being used in the swap.
I would say, upgrade your system to 8GB of ram. I dont think it will stop the crashes (I still think its random, but the Numbers are 2.8GB-3.1GB from my personal testing) it should help.
hm.. i see so its a physical ram memory problem? and no it isnt an onboard video card, i have got nvidea and 4gm ram but i guess 3.8 right now since it weared down.. pity that my pc is too old for a ram upgrade(motherboard doesnt support more than 4 ramcards) still i wish these crash issues could be resolved ^^ oh and any tips on how to make gw2 crash less? since you mention that i have kinda too little physical ram? and how the eff is it possible that i end up with 847mb ram when i have about 3gb available o.o? is there any way i can manage ram to make it eat up less?
also i would luike to mention that this crash/freeze happened during a personalstory mission and its not the first time that it happened >_< its rather annoying..
It is unfortunate the search feature is broken. Quite some time ago, someone had a problem somewhat similar to yours, and it was solved by some particular keystrokes which change the key functions. I’m afraid I don’t remember what they are. Maybe someone else will know. I think one of the keys used in question was the Windows key. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Edit: I did a bit of searching, and this might work. If you use a laptop, try holding down the Fn key and pressing Numlock. That is a command for changing your keyboard to Euro or another set, so you might have accidently hit those keys.
so in gw2 my keyboard layout changed suddendly and i dont know how it happened.. for example when i want to type ty it comes out as tz where the keys z and y are switched around and when i want to type ^^ it comes out as ยดยด which are symbols that are actually on another key. Also attached is an image of said weird symbol. Please tell me what i have to do to change it back to the way it was ^^ so i can type normally ingame again~

EDIT: i cannot take a screenshot anymore because apparantly this thing that changed also changed the key for taking screenshots.. so i’ll try to describe it; its a capital letter Blue A in front of a white box.
What the hell are you people talking about?! There is no trait reset item in the gemstore!! O.o or am i missing something here?? I browses through the gemstore today and havent seen anything like it….. So if you gonna say something like this then you should at least explain yourself!!
I read a topic a couple months ago when queens jubilee was around that this tonic would get fixed, but seeing as i how i just used it and it ended just after 5 minutes leaving me with a 20 minutes cooldown… it is NOT fixed yet.. so whats up? when is the ETA on this?
I wish they would start putting these meta achievement rewards in the reusable skin section like radiant/hellfire and zenith. Much more alt friendly. I mean after all, we get punished enough through ascended stuff, why not at least let us use our rewards on a couple character if we so desire… It’s not like the tech isn’t already there….

Well the next release will be on the 17th, which will involved revamped Tequatl and changes to WvW Borderlands. ^^
False. The next living story is due to be revealed on the 10th which is today for me. So it is unlikely that sab will continue throughout the month.
We have a monthly cycle and a two-weekly cycle. The events that start at the beginning of the month will stay a month, the events that start halfway the month will stay 2 weeks (except for the permanent changes, naturally).

i used steal on my thief against a skritt who was close to a wall and i guess, somehow i ported inside the wall with the skill steal? anyways im stuck.. because the skritt around me is still engaged to me in combat mode. if anybody wants to maybe come help me out by killing them so i could port to a wp i would appreciate it^^
im near the gate where parnas heartquest is and where the path leads into the cave near the gate with the skritt dynamic event and im on pikensquare =)
It’s almost like you are nerfing yourself if you don’t put 30 points into critical strikes. In terms of killing things/players it is by far the most powerful trait line. The real question is what to do with your other 40 points after that.
On the other hand if you are just doing a build to have fun and do crazy stuff, or you want to try to make a thief based on condition damage, etc, then Critical Strikes is the most boring trait line.
in fact i do want a direct damage thief, ut condition damage as a secondary damage output so i made this build:
I think we are mostly in “wtf” mode.
I see what you are trying to do, but the truth is – Soldier gear won’t save you, because theives rely on stealth and evades much more than being able to tank through hits. All this full soldier gear does is make you deal low dmg, while being only slightly more survivable. I have never heard about direct damage thieves, that didn’t rely on crit dmg and did well. You’d do much better with full knights gear and 0/20(3, 6)/30(4, 6, 11)/20(2, 9)/0 build(you will deal more damage than soldier, while being just as tanky with good evades and SA health regen), until you are ready to switch to more glassy gear(valkyrie and berserker pieces).
I wear something like that when Im CnDing siege in the middle of 30+ people (you cant crit siege) but youll never kill anything like that in PVP, and in PVE just offhand a gun and drop blinding powder and youre invincible.
hm.. okay wel i prefer dagger/dagger over pistol,
@dDuff, so what would you suggest then? i know im going a bit too defensive but thats the point of my build and to make my thief less squishy, so is there any other possibility to be non zerker and keep the build that i have? maybe change a few things to have more power? should i take out some from acro and put into power? or critical strikes? i just dont want to lose out on assasins reward because that trait seems very good!! but then again i dont want my dps so low that i have to kite a mob forever. its not zerker but its a build that quite fits my playstyle, its tanky with knights or soldier gear and zerker trinkets, im not decided yet(would appreciate some help on the gear as well^^) and has decent dps.
can you give me any tips on how this build will be at higher levels? basically just rate this build and i know its no points into deadly arts or critical strikes.. but bear with me this build strays a bit away from the typical crit zerker backstabbing builds.

okay so im at the part where it says defend against the undead attackers, and i killed a few waves at which point i had to help tactician sarrena get up. Now nothing happens. Im just standing around and no waves of undead come. nothing =)
so what can i do now? will it be fixed if i restart the personal story?
The dailies are too much, even for hardcore players.
I just had two friends quit the game within the past week because they could not afford to spend 2-4 hours every single day to get all dailies done. These friends were both hardcore – one with 12501 AP and other with 10339 AP.
I know people will say “You don’t HAVE to do all the dailies”. But, the truth is hardcore players will try to stay on the rankings and will try to do all of them every day.
I think a possible solution for this is to cap the PvE dailies at 10AP/day. This would let the game have more of the advertised “play how you want” feel.
rename title =) dailies arew burning out YOU and your friends and other so called “hardcore” players, i do dailies first everytime i log into gw2 and im fine with them! explain to me how a person needs to spend 2 to 4 hours to do daily? its ridiculous… i complete mine at a half an hour max, even less if the dailies are something easy =)

since we collect a huge amount of drips of liquid karma / essences of luck / scrolls of experience etc. just playing the game normally, we absolutely need a “Use all” button when right clicking on a stack to not be forced to manually use every single piece as it’s very time sinking and annoyingly boring.
we need this… badly.. day by day my mous button is screaming in pain simply because of how many times i spam it to death in order to use the items….
travellers changed into dire, something else changed into assasins. Where can i check out these new stats? i need to know what stats they combine since i might use either dire or assasin.^^
I’m usually prone to simulation sickness, but SAB hasn’t caused me any problems. I get horribly sick in Troll’s End and Urmaug’s, and running around inside buildings, so for me it’s mainly the camera jerks, which I didn’t notice in SAB. Sorry to hear it’s making you (literally) sick, though. :c I know that pain.
okay =( and yah i meant simulation sickness, it’s bad but in a way it’s good because i get to take a 2 week break from LS and be ready for the next one^^ i would still like to find out the exact cause of my simulation sickness though..
I think I’m losing my mind, but today after downloading the patch and reading the patch notes I SWEAR I saw something about there being a SAB item that lets you play the 8 bit music from SAB where ever you are, like the flute basically.
But then looking through the store and through the patch notes again, I can’t find it ANYWHERE, I’m so convinced I read it somewhere… but I think I’m losing my mind, does this exist?? Lol..

from the very first moment i stepped into SAB i went through the maze in w1z1 i felt dizzy nausous, and tunnelvision. i think because of the world of sab being pixelated and bright? i cant quite put it but i had to give up because right now i feel like throwing up as a direct result of sab. I hope im not the only one.
this build….. so bad words cannot describe, first of all why take 3 kits`? why bombkit,elixirgun and wrench?? just why? how are you going to manage survival and dps with your ufocus so spread out? taking so many kits is not worth it.. stick to one kit and the rest turrets (rifle,net turret or rocket turret).
Even more people are saying their codes they got directly from arena net are not working, they said they are already used even confirmed by support…
Seems like someone got hold of mr sparkles codes before arena net gave them out and is now selling them on ebay. Which is why they are coming up already in use, they have been sold off..
Also i forgot to mention theres a rifle trait that decreases the cooldown recharge time by 20% (fireforged trigger, you may choose to take this over the 10% increased damage or the improved range if you wish, but personally i think the skill cooldwosn on the elixir are short enough so i dont need it.) And since this build relies on the power stat you dont nees to worry about condition damage.
For the invenions traitline choose the trait that converts toughness into power(energized armor) the trait that reduces damage to turrets by 30 percent(metal plating).
For alchemy take the trait that you prefer( i took self regulating defence) but make sure you take the one that makes elixir gun do 15 percent more damage(deadly mixture).
For the heal skill take healing turret as it is considered the beat heal amount. For skill 7 take the elixir gun skill 8 net turrent and finally rocket turret. Now with all that set up, in combat you generally want to start with rifle 2 then f4 to fire a rocket at then then rifle 3 at close range and rifle 4 to knockback then close the gap with 5 at this point switch to elixir gun and use 4 skill to jump back and attack with 1 and 2 while placing down net and rocket turret (net turret is really helpful because of the trait sitting duck which cripples and adds vulnerbility to your foe ) and for gear go for power toughness precision.
I hope this helped, the build is really fun to use and good at crowd controlling with its many immobilizing and knockback skills. Since you alao going heavily into the toughness and vitality traitlines, this will add further to your survivability.

yes it’s the same resolution as my desktop but it’s not happening anymore, as i said it only happens sometimes and i think maybe it has something to do with the refreshrate but im not sure.
recently i’ve had this problem alot, when i alt-tab then my windows resolution changes to 800×600 and its so difficult to fix it because sometimes when i bring up task manager then it fixes by itself and sometimes it just stays on a black screen when i try alt-tabbing back into the game. This caused me to alt-f4 the game many times anyone know the cause of this issue and how to fix it?
Will they be available again? It was told that they won’t be coming back so I kept my Super GS skin just to see how it devaluates completely
err.. how the hell does that DEVALUATE your GS skin? you just said that you were told they wont be coming them and yeah they wont. SO if anything the value of your gs skin will only go skyhigh! since they can only be bought from the tp =)
