I’ve recently gotten back into the game after about 2 years away. I am wondering if there is still a large rp community about in this game, and on what servers are best, for me to join.
The Pikensquare server used to be the #1 best RP server but i don’t know if it still is.

With the new xpack on the horizon does anyone know if we will be receiving another of 80 boost with the purchase. Also does anyone know about when we will be seeing official details on the xpack?
Still too early to speculate about the level 80 boost if it will be available or not,
as for the details of the Expac you can expect it in a couple of months after the last chapter of the current living world.
it does matter, i would like to know when i have immobilize on me so when im on my ele i dont waist 2-4 seconds of the down mist form not moving. same goes with chill or any movement impeding skills,
it doesn’t matter because the mistform is a stunbreak.
All HoT maps! i wish they just didn’t exsist in the form they are now with their 3 layers!!
get rid of the layers please… it’s just like a kittenin’ maze in there!

so usually my game runs good without any D/C errors.
Today though i find i am constantly getting a code 7 error code despite my internet working just fine!
i can surf websites and watch youtube. So whats wrong with gw2? why is it acting up this way? I cannot enjoy playing in this manner.

yeah okay fair point, but he was also pointing out that this class was being a cheat and unfair. That’s the part that bothered me about the OP’s post.
I need some guidance here.
I’ve just recently (in WvW) run into several rangers that have an unexplainable ability to repeatedly root me and nuke me with conditions. Instantly.
It seems like all in one shot, I’m rooted and have 5-6 conditions on me.
Ok, no worries, cleansed… 10-15 seconds later, I’m in the same situation.
The ranger’s HPs seem to hold up against my attacks, but their conditions tear me apart.I’m not a pro-level player or anywhere close, but I can usually hold my own 1v1 against most opponents.
This just isn’t the case here.
Can somebody help me here? Every time I run into one of these rangers, i’m dead. They have more mobility so, I can’t even turn and run…

I was wondering after the HoT aftermath and the damage it did to the game and player population, will Anet have the strength to forget HoT and move on?
What went wrong with HoT, IMHO, and should never be repeated:
01. Pricing the expansion as the full game for players already owning the original game
02. DLC worth of new content, not worthy of expansion name
03. Rushed and short story mode, with a really underwhelming final battle design.
04. Questionable map design, not the beauty of HoT maps, just usability. Minimap system is not enough for HoT layout.
05. Lack of new character slot for the new profession (remedied after an outcry from players).
06. Killing the casualness of the original Guild Wars 2 in more than one way and thus making maps either extremely hard or right down impossible for solo completion.
07. Nerfing the older content, all in hope player base will be forced to buy into deeply flawed new one.
08. Essentially killing off PvP with tying it to the expansion.
09. Nearly destroying WvW which survival is still up in the air.
10. etc.
I agree with point 4, the HoT map with it’s different planes is just too huge to represented accurately by the minimap.
There is no clear indication of where to go to the lower plane and where to go to the higher plane.
i agree with point 6, i hope they learned their lesson and remedy this in the upcoming expansion! Core tyrias difficulty was fine.
Why suddendly make it so much more difficult in HoT ? i’m a casual and i don’t want to have to group up to finish HoT!
and the maps mobs aren’t solo friendly either.

I don’t know if that would be possible (graphical glitch notwithstanding), but you reminded me of how in GW1, you could mix/match wearing a Costume’s headgear with your standard armor, or your actual headgear with a costume outfit, and I’m wondering if that could be done here. (Dunno how hard it would be from a programming perspective; from a visual perspective, the only potential snag I can see is the usual – clipping.)
And clipping is most likely what would prohibit your suggestion as well, since most headgear are physical, unlike those glowing eye ones or the tattoo ones. Maybe the eyepatches, I don’t recall how “substantial” they are. Imagine trying to wear the Radiant Helm at the same time as the Draconic Helm – the clipping would look plain ugly.
The next-best solution – and again, I’m no programmer so I have no idea how viable this would be to implement – would be for “facial cosmetics” to be a separate thing from headgear, encompassing the eyes, tattoos, and anything that is more a feature of the face itself than headgear placed upon it.
this idea is good! to prevent clipping from occuring we could have a seperate slot for each piece,
so for example we could place a slot for each armor piece in the wardrobe panel,
preferably next to the armor slot itself would be a cosmetic slot so that we could have a slot for each individual piece, Helmet, Eye wear, shoulder, chest,glove legging and boot!
so this will enable us to mix and match cosmetically. Using this method to implement would also allow me to use both the radiant helmet and bloodstone visage at the same time.
Please take this suggestion into account Arena Net. Perhaps for the future in the next expansion.

Hi guys, so recently i had this idea of wearing more than one transumted helm, now hear me out.
This is a screenshot i took of me wearing the Radiant Helmet Skin then quickly switch to the Bloodstone Visage.
So as seen on the picture i clearly have both on but it is currently not possible ingame to have both on simultaneously.
BUT! in the picture it is clearly shown that i have both on.
So in the future could we possibly have a way to combine more than one helmet cosmetic together?

Could you make in game voice chat for squads? This will be very useful when doing anything that involves creating big squads.

No matter what time of day it is, the map is alway packed with players doing group events. If you haven’t already, you should absolutely give it a go. The rewards are great. Plenty of salvage, leather and even Corrupted lodestones.
I did some berry rounds and took some screenshots of the cool things you can do on this map.
lol.. FYI those are not legit players. they’re AFK farmers and need to be severely dealt with!
NPCs can aggro other NPCs if one of them sends an attack that hits. They label anything that causes them damage as enemy so it is not exactly the same system are your player character is bound by. If no damage was exchanged I don’t know why they would attack each other.
it’s most likely to be a glitch in their code :P as another user has said the matrix has a glitch so that could explain this hostlie behavior be wary all of tyria has gone mad!! Queensdale is only the beggining
Ok so in plains of ashford there is a Hero Challange in Devast District which is currently bugged.
Not clickable and doesn’t show dialogue box. Please fix this.
EDIT: Ok so i resolved it now by it activating when another player touched it. But this continues to be a problem for those of us of whom it is bugged. Please fix it regardless!

Mounts:
-with speed boost as a unique feature in vanilla maps.
-with their special abilities only in xpac maps.
-Disabled in cities/Instances so we can avoid huge amount of them stacking one over another.
-selecting their Furr color, Dying their Saddles…etc
-Special skins that we can have from gemstore to customize them even more.

I just hope we won’t get mounts a-la other MMO’s. They clog up your screen in cities and since the arrival of all these wings people already look absurd as it is (not to mention all those glows and aura’s that have been added).
Theres gonna be mounts, kinda semi-confirmed already through leaks.

I have bought the HoT standard edition but what i am wondering is,
if i upgrade to the digitial deluxe edition which also cointains a level 80 boost would i get another level 80 boost on top of the one i already received when i purchased the standard edition? or is the level 80 boost just 1 per account?

I hope they step it up to at least HoT level for the new expansion. Core Tyria enemies are boring.
What about Living World map enemies? the ones in Ember bay for example.
They aren’t as weak as Core Tyria enemies but also not as tough as HoT enemies.
My hopes are that they can just find a middle ground for enemy difficulty instead of just ramping it up to maximum difficulty like in HoT.
I wouldn’t consider HoT to be maximum difficulty. Learn the mechanics or each mob and they become easier. The player base naturally gets better as they play the game so it’s not unreasonable for the difficulty to also increase.
The Difficulty of HoT enemies is considerably much more higher compared to those of Core Tyria maps.
For example the Mordrem Sniper who can 1 or 2 shot kill you if you don’t dodge at the right time.
Or the Mushrooms that always charge at you so fast that you cannot react to their attacks.
All of these enemy abilities make me as a Player feel weak and thats not so fun.
For me the problem isn’t about learning enemy mechanics because given enough time we can practice and become better but this doesn’t change the fact that HoT enemies are still overpowered to the point that 1 mis step or dodge can kill you instantly.
Compared to Core Tyria maps like Orr or Frost Gorge Sound enemies there don’t one hit kill you,
they hit and you lose little health but it gives us enough time to react to their damage. The way that the Damage is from HoT enemies right now is too unforgiving.
I hope they step it up to at least HoT level for the new expansion. Core Tyria enemies are boring.

lol i seriously doubt that they are, also this was just my insight on things.
Also there has been a case where Devs actually did take feedback from users and made some changes to HoT maps :> so there. It also isn’t just me who experiences these problems in HoT maps.
Please for the sake of all that is good. Don’t make the new expansion maps difficulty like that of HoT maps PLEASE!
make them same as Core Tyria Orr map or SilverWastes difficulty, even making the maps of the new expansion like the difficulty of living world maps would be really ok.
Like the ember bay map etc those mobs were just fine.
i bought HoT thinking maps would be same level of difficulty of core tyria maps and i was excited! but now i regret that i bought HoT.. As a casual PvE player who just wants to enjoy uncovering maps and doing events,
it was really really difficult in HoT maps like Verdant Brink and other maps to just enjoy travelling because everywhere is normal mobs who have the strength of a veteran! and kill me in 1 or 2 hits! and veterans feel like champion mobs with their breakbars that are impossible to kill.
I don’t want my experience in the next expansion to be just avoiding all mobs and unable to enjoy myself completing maps because of the difficulty of enemies!

I need t know because i’m using exotics armor and weapons and i don’t want this power creep to nullify my stats.

Would love to see a special action skill “battle cry” mastery. Simply put, it’s a mastery that gives you might as you shout, however it gives even more stacks of might if you manage to synchronize your battle cry with other players. more players in sync, more might.
what is this, diablo ? “battle cry” doesn’t fit in guildwars2 because it’s a barbarian skill..

Can’t disagree more, as I suspect many others will. As the game progresses and player skill increases the challenges need to keep up. Core Tyria difficulty is a joke.
The main issue is that new and returning players are jumping right into the HoT maps without being truly familiar with their characters and in some cases not being geared correctly. Metabattle and other build sites are focused on raids, fractals, PvP and WvW not PvE mapping and events. People to adjust their builds to what works for them for the content they are doing.
i see your point, it is my lack of skill and perhaps wrong armor or traits that prevent me from enjoying HoT maps but.. i also have enormous difficulty with getting elite specialization for certain more squishier classes and some Hero Points are temendously over powered.. and it’s just not fun for me to progress my characters because i feel like i’m being blocked off since i lack the correct skills to traverse the jungle for example reaction time and correct dodging etc.. that’s just my issue though.. not saying that everyone has the same problem like me, but i just wanted to point out my Cons with HoT maps :>

A “waste of money” is relative, I am an older player and my time is more valuable to me than $5 to $7 (which is what i think this item is worth). If it saves me 10-20 minutes once a week or once a month, I’d do it all day. It might even save me money because instead of just buying another bank tab, I would more easily be able to see what i can sell, salvage, or transfer to my mule character.

Not sure where to post/ask this but is there any talk of a Guildwars 3? A whole new game with different races, characters, skills and gameplay and ,map etc etc. Not just more of the same DLC for GW 2.
If not are there any games like GW2 or WOW to look out for? (not elderscrolls online though)
