C) warcraft borrowed the concept from EQ1’s shadow knight. aka, the same exact thing but called something different.
Shadowknights are just blackguards but 40 times more emo and worthless…
Its like saying that a WoW druid is the same thing but called different as a GW ranger.
A valid comparison is our GW2 Necros to EQ Shadowknights, low damage, kittenty pets, rely on kiting and siphoning that is kitten or luck based thus never being active when you need it with stupid cooldowns. Just add the specification that 1/4 of their skills needed corpses, the enemy to be undead or item requirement that you needed to spam, yeah no; also the fact that by comparison a heavy armored class is easier to kill than a light armored profession which relies on enemy not to cc you to hell tells everything.
Spite X – Chill of Death. Increased trigger threshold from 25% to 50% – AWESOME change, but i hope that its actual 50, not 20% like right now despite tooltip saying 25%
Curses VIII – Banshee’s Wail. Increase cooldown reduction from 15% to 20%. – Very much needed.
Death 5 – Reanimator. Decreased cooldown from 30s to 15s. – Please just fuse it with Protection of the Horde and make it at Major Trait, no matter how much you improve it its still blocking the entry into DM line for a lot of players that dont want to have sodding rats running around with them, still ok change/direction, but a better would have been, can proc up to 3 times within 30 seconds, no cooldown between procs, thus allowing for a spike of minions for MM builds on fights with adds.
Soul Reaping II. Vital Persistence. Increased reduction of life force drain from 25% to 50% – Making it kinda efficient, but its still not a good trait plain because of how the 3 main necro setups use DS, Power builds got enough LF generation that sticking in DS isnt a problem (and dagger is a stronger dps tool either way), for conditions its a one off and defensive tool thus only needing 10-30% LF and kinda only being able to generate that much and minion masters in best case use it as a heal for minions.
The degeneration isnt a problem its the difference in how easy, fast and reliably different setups can generate life force (from the fast D/WH, the burst A/F or the reliable n safe Staff with soul marks or worthless/almost non existent on S/D since Scepter 3 isnt a appealing skill to condis).
Things that really need change/fix is Putrid mark (being a 3 cleanse and not cleansing teammates), staff weapon swap/interrupt mark cd, buggy nature of Trident 1 (doesnt hit stuff right infront of you underwater but still can go trough some walls).
Personal wishes are a 1 second boost to Foot in the grave (or making it the SR GM minor) and changes to spite 10 major traits (especially Spiteful Spirit trait not worth it for the slot, but a lot of builds dont have a better option and it kinda is a major blasphemy of the once dear Elite).
Thats not testing, its rolling in your own mess, and you have no idea how messy it actually is till you see it from a 3rd perspective.
There is a beta, actually. That’s just something people don’t realize.
Beta is a development stage, the MMO is finished, that is just called a test realm, they have existed since MUDs (but for new text scripts).
Thing is GW2 necro is SA sin, Most of original necro -curses and quite a bit of dervish efficiency selfishness n transformations play.
To be honest why can we have it all: the mighty spike build, the pressure and control necro, the minion bomber/master, a siphon tank and a transformation/DS specialized build?
Its not a thing of mechanics (all variants of siphon sustain exist over the 2 games), its devs being scared to experiment and right numbers and with no beta realm.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Thief
They are the expertised class, that uses poisons in combat to enhance their weapons with them, no other class does that. The only simple poison that the other classes deal are through the poison condition. Thats no expertise for me alone. And as last words – thieves are no mages in any kind of way, thats pure nonsense.
They use professionally all kinds of venoms, no other class does it, so they are the masters of poisons, this is simply fact and on that can you say, what you want . This is just straight clear. Just being able only to let enemies suffer on the poison condition alone makes no class an expert, like rangers and necromancers.
The only thign those 2 classes do with poison it letting their enemiessuffer on the poisonconditions, its in now wax professionally part of their class design, like its the case for the thief, where venoms are a professional part of their utility skills at their current class design (I’d prefer to see that gettign finally redesigned to let that become their F-Mechanics to give them more Skill Variety and to make thiefs more unpredictable, what they should be as masters of the deadly arts and descendants from canthan assassins)
a) Theives have nothing to do with assassins from GW1 except keeping their fighting style, thus the fighting style of every person from Cantha in existence since forever.
b) Assassins being priests of grenth had MAGIC which they also used in the assassinations/rituals when kitten hit the fan, the most prominent/known 2 being Shadow Form and Shroud of Distress; making a bigger gap between the 2.
c) Necromancers, having absolute control over life force, blood flow and hard tied to the underworld are probably better at finding out a poison that hits your nervous system and causes hallucinations than a petty street rat that takes sweet rolls who is the grand-grand-grand-grandson of a kitten that was too stupid to use a defensive skill when under 50% hp because she is horny for a bald masochistic “guy”.
Got both Greyhawk and Dragonlance, but there aint no DK as class, but ok if that was in the mind when creating the name, guess i learned something. Still DKs in official D&D started off and still are just a “stufe 23 untoter mit rustung” and WoW was kinda the mass spam of it, but they actually made it something you could be as a class, as said in the comparison above Starship Troopers was the first armored white guy mass armada, but Star Wars did make it a culture trope that defined space troopers are guys in identical power suits that aint real armor, come en mass and cant aim even if their life depends on it.
And yeah now that i actually think about it, the first 2 DKs (non-scourge) in WoW were direct rip offs from Miltiades (Gorefiend) and Kargoth (Mograine).
Either way would be awesome if we could use weapons like them.
a) Deathknights are actually a warcraft thing in the current format
ehhhh…..
DK was/is a rank of skeletal minion (Deaths Chosen as linked above), the 3 notable characters on the DK wiki page were Warlock, Blackguard and Necromancer (clerics technically) by class. Or is being a Skeletal warrior suddenly a class and not just undead who happens to be a fighter. The big armored dude in robes who has life based non-divine abilties to raise and control the dead without being hard tied to arcane manipulation or demon pacts that lack a soul are very much a “creation”/common interpretation of the Warcraft universe, its kinda like how star wars impacted the people on a view of what is a “empire” and what “troopers” are despite both not only being older than you think real world things but also 2 main focuses of 2 other very influential SF movies, just named differently/slight edits in design and/or what they fought.
Toxic pollen is a debuff, but CC is still better since TP barely does any damage (i think its like 64 or so) and its not even on a pre second tick timer.
The cool thing about the new heal is if you are a norn warrior in mostly SE armor colored blue yellow you can channel the spirit of SPHAZE MAREEENS and Garen the spin2win king in their full glory.
I want melee cleave, I want better lifesyphon.
Deathknights, blackguards, and wights were around WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY before
WoW.
a) Deathknights are actually a warcraft thing in the current format, Blackguards have nothing to do with raising undead, controlling blood, etc; they were actually against most of necro stuff even if most shared the same realms of evil in the original few formats since they are just always chaotic evil versions of pallys with even more specific rules and ability to reverse their turn undead into a flesh puppet (same as clerics no matter the school specification and even some specifications of sorcerer and druid).
b) The guys who you mean in d&d terms are Soul Eaters (Life force necro),
Lifedrinker (2 variants, thus liches and vampires/think aatrox or vlad), Warriors of Darkness (metaish alchemy fighters that wow DKs both parody and take a lot of reference from), Master of Shrouds (aka kitten necromancers with the drowish/vampire sun weakness, but doesnt need to be chaotic nor evil), Blood Mages (aka whiny emo dudes that are too stupid to learn arcane or emo dudes to weak physically to cast arcane), Entropomancer (guys going to the logical extreme of using negative energy sources shooting at you with anti matter/kinda what our life blast does), Deaths Chosen (aka the what if our minions could talk), Pale masters (how we summon marks/wells/stuff not related to hurting ourselves or kitten decaying) and the good old True Necromancers (so everything above with all their glory and weaknesses).
Dont make me start typing out the draconian or element/divine based sub classes of necromancy or this post will be 3 pages.
How to level necro in 10 easy steps:
1. Get to level 10 by killing shiz
2. Unlock Bone Minions
3. Unlock Bone Fiend
4. Unlcok Shadow Fiend
5. Let 5 minions murder everything in your way as you pick Daisies, Shiny rocks and get some VisualWood (yay for obligatory promotion).
6. Make sure to have food buffs always up and run to events
7. Unlock giant undead turkey aka Flesh Golem
8. Go trough weapons and stick to the ones you like
9. You hit level 65~ and minions started dying to veterans, start actually killing stuff yourself with your fav weapons
10. Gratz you got to 80, now retrait, unlock whatever skills you want for your build and learn to go trough explorable mode dungeons.
Got it on first try with a character that didnt participate on last years halloween, as did everyone present who listened.
No mask of the night, just 25 bags of Trick or Treat despite perfect run, as most people on Ebays LA judging from map chat.
So i was happy to see during Zephyr sanctum rewards that gave 2 ways to get it. You had the options of trading in tons of fortune scraps for helmets/back items and even a random rng box or for those that didn’t want to farm tons of fortune scraps there were the BL tickets. Why not give these options again? Reward ppl who want to spend the time in your game but leave the option for ppl that don’t.
500 spores + 1g = 1 weapon skin or 1 BL Ticket = 1 weapon skin
- i don’t know the spore drop rate or anything, im just wondering why haven’t we return to this system
I don’t know why we don’t have a system like that but you can gather 100 spores and more within 10 minutes lol.
100 within 10 minutes?
How? I’m lucky if I get 4 from an event, and no mobs are dropping them….
Roll trough events (even better if you can get 5+ necros with vampiric, dagger/wh, make them attack the spore towers, vampiric does damage to them) towers fall in the first minute or two, gather the 2-3 clumps of 5 toxic plants in the area (2/5 will be the rare versions, the trash ones are still copper too)…
Overall not so hard even if its more like 20-40 pre 10 min.
Guys the matriarchs of krait are mostly hypnoss (the witches)… youd think that one of the thousands they got are able to drop like 60 skill points into a giant veil instead of a tiny line.
25 SP’s is approximately equivalent to 5g… you’d think Anet would have considered that when making the prices.
Who in their right mind would spend 5g plus all those spores when they can just use SP’s.
Closer to 10g, if you use them wisely. So 10g versus 5g + 250 freely farmable widgets. Not looking so obvious now ….
It’s faster to farm those 25 skill points than 250 “freely farmable” widgets. Even if you do only the living story.
Actually it isn’t, I got a 100+ in just over a hour.
Sometimes when you harvest you get 2-3 swipes and 10-15 of them, other times around 4-5 and sometimes just 1. Its like a 33% chance at either.
Some players don’t realise skill points can be turned into gold, 5+ gold to be exact.
So Anet’s pricing is spot on really.
How do you turn skill points into gold?
Mystic forge, but no, look you get about a level and half from of champ farm in FGS or CS, if you are in CS you end up with at least 30 scrolls, FGS maybe 20~ after all the box opening with typical luck.
So you not only earn the gold from champ farming but save all the potential gold wasted on the heal skill and can earn more if you sell the toxin thingys instead of using them up.
I must object, as a cynical necromancy with a humor that even makes even insects go silent from how bad it is, this is perfectly in character (same for Ozzy)!
Well we got the 2 strongest ally necro NPCs (one that can solo a centaur champ and one that can kill 3 krait before getting defeated) on the same map, how fancy.
It is pve, if you want to complain about pvp in pve complain about bad activities that count for the living world (and with that i mean crap toss, kitten er ball, etc – sanctum sprint, reapers rumble and lunatic inquisition/its weaker southsun survival counterpart are the only ones actually any fun without major game breaking bugs and show that people that made them cared instead of lets annoy the kitten out of players).
You know, back in my days of shroud moa, you were also able to stomp said mesmer with those chicken feet.
How about No greatsword. Greatswords are way over used, and harm diversity in the game. No on the Hammer as well. This is an extremely brutish weapon and I feel dirty just thinking about a necromancer using a hammer.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Necromancer_Munne
Check her trivia. ;-)
Also as far as casters go necromancers ARE extremely brutish, everything about the class is built around inflicting pain in as unsubtle and unpleasant a way as possible.
I don’t associate pain with being a bruit. Perhaps you do, but that would make every profession brutish in your eyes. I see a bruit as someone who likes to get there hands dirty. Real hands on type of person who wants to feel someone’s skull crushed under their boot, the really relish the impact of the weapon.
As a necromancer.. I’m not fond of this direct approach. Them screaming as they crawl to me to ease there pain as I lift my skirt away from them and tell them “Get away from me, You will get blood all over my new shoes.” Sadist, Yes, necromancers are Sadistic and sometimes Masochistic. Bruits? No.
You mixed up necromancer with mesmer, let me give you examples of what necro skills do and did: Eat part of the enemy and disintegrate them into blood and/or life force in 9 different ways (or 14 depending on what you count), summon a demonic shadow from the stygian pits to stalk the enemy and destroy nerves, pull out both peoples blood and mix it around, crush the skull with their targets heads skin/muscles, cause bone cancer, overflow the lungs, summon stygian demons from the hellpits to slowly eat the enemy sending the energy to you (in 3 different ways), remove/push away all heat/energy from 7 different locations including the ground under the the enemy causing their skin to frostbite stick to it essentially either ripping off their own skin if they want to move or being slowly frozen in place.
Yeah most of that is with the extension of our spectral grasps, so you cannot say that we are the type in leather outfits that whip people and drop little pieces of candle wax on their back or other parts (even if some of us did wear such leather outfits with more fancy designs).
Does this mean… CoF flames getting option to be dyed soon?
By all rights the centaurs should be extinct by now, not allied with the pact/lionguard/heroes/humans.
Funny how the first non demonic light armor that isnt revealing comes with a very stupidly revealing female heavy armor… id say its fair since 99% of light armor is for strippers (in most heavy you at least look like… xenas long lost sister or so), but the male/female split really needs to go and allow choice, for the people that want 3 sheets of paper over the private parts and for those in actual combat gear. ALSO FIX CLIPPING OF CHESTS WITH COF PANTS!
Regen warriors (wvwvw staple fun build) are kinda unkillable, but they cant kill a good necro, ok trap thief/conse guard nor a dd ele who knows how to roll his face over the keyboard or place a cat on it. with catnip on the F3 button.
We got Shrouded Removal and other traits that would perfectly fit there in the minor slots already~
it seems like you guys want to make the Necromancer into this guy:
Yes that would be cool (but please may i remind, claw weapons would be daggers and most ornaments/channels are as a matter of fact focus/focusi?, however you spell the plural of it and whips in game are technically permanent environmental weapon thus more likely as something on a engie/thief/warrior.
Also scythes art obsolete if we will get swords n axes of both types, also we got enough scythe skins.
also minions heals are POWERFULL the siphons heals ALLOT.
also they not always die fast sometimes yes but who cares ? few sec and they all back again.
They also heal lupi with hover jesus mode n kills and summon grubs, so no please dont.
Wurm is actually quite good, but my personal favorites are Energy sigils and FitG (one of those cheat the fight with it cases where it can be slotted in now over DP unlike before when it was the default 30 SR GM trait).
If you really want a WvWvW healing support build, http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAW7YjQaZ6haSb87KAJFY/8kCy7GWQUhhpPUOA-jUCBogCy00wE1BKPqIas1RFRjVLjIqWdDzYO1G0KaA-w alteration is probably better.
Hey at least its not Reani or PotH, if fixing those into a major trait and giving us good stuff (like Shrouded removal and Reapers protection) for minors letting non MM use DM without penalty, ill gladly take Siphoned power (or plain just go 20 in spite since the best trait of the line is there).
I’d love for it to siphon health as well.
It will proc vampiric if you have it. Warhorn 5 is actually a really strong sustain tool with vampiric builds.
It used to have siphon build in it too once upon a time, check historical traits (or youtubeTB sylvari necromancer).
There kinda are some Uumph traits: Lingering curses, Death Nova, Deathly Perception – they all really wrap up builds and other trait setups.
Problem is unlike some professions (Engie, Guard, Mesmer) who have mostly build changers or plain stupid dps increases (Warrior), we are stuck with what would be usually 5-15 minor traits as grandmasters.
So, what you’re saying, Andele, is that no class has a disengage? Shadow Trap has a 1.5 second activation time.
Shadow trap is half a second cast time with no special requirement on port (being a actual TP and 20k range) and is designed as a escape and not a combat utility, Wurm being a minion and short range and killable, isnt, portal being for team support isnt, meditations from guardians again being mid combat and ally/target required again aint, stuff like Mes Blink, S2, Decoy, Prestiege, Thief Shadowstep, Infl Arrow, SStrike, BP, Roll, Lightning Reflexes from ranger, Swoop, Both S2 skills, etc being evades, instants, designed with pre use for escape ARE disengages.
Swalk being on a timer kina worked as a crippled version of those, but with its new nerfed version is barely worth taking outside of avoiding death jumps removing the only combat disengage a necro could kinda have.
So no, im just specifying what is what isnt used to get out of/reset fights in a efficient way.
Except, flesh wurm is an disengage.
No one uses it to port players in. No one uses it to jump into the battle. It is used as a escape tool, aka disengage.
It might be true if it was instant and plain dying after being immune to 1 persons damage for 6/9 or 12/18 if you traited wasnt plain better. Also FW is way stronger as a ranged minion that a drop for escape unlike the for that exact purpose designed Shadow trap.
Thus not disengage, or would you say that for example a Engie overcharged shot, Mesmer portal, Guardian merciful intervention, etc. are also disengages since you have the potential to get away from someone with them if you prepare yourself and the enemy does nothing to stop it despite well being able to.

The thing about Kralkatorrik and perfection is merely a theory. He is capable of corrupting anything physical (it seems the only thing he doesn’t corrupt is souls and water).
Primordus doesn’t corrupt fossils. And Jormag has been known to use corpses himself (probably Kralkatorrik too). Primordus creates minions from rock and stone – though it is possible for him to corrupt living beings via encasing them in stone and turning the body to lava, he hasn’t done this (to our knowledge). Similarly Zhaitan is capable of corrupting living beings – and Jormag’s capable of corrupting via means other than his typical mental corruption. Each Elder Dragon has a preference of corruption, but in the end they can all corrupt the same thing. Primordus prefers rock and fire; Kralkatorrik prefers the physical; Jormag prefers corrupting mentally (and having those who desire strength work for him); Zhaitan prefers raising corpses; the DSD to all our knowledge prefers corrupting water.
But they’re not limited to that.
No, we got NPCs in the brand that were there in them mids of it when kralky flew off that are still uncorrupted (and a entire skillpoint and a master of a manly order in the personal story nicely dedicated to it). Also he does corrupt water, oil and even somehow rain clouds n brushes which by all rights should be blocked off by the corruption and burned off respectively.
Again, do the personal story skritt line, a you nicely get the explanation that before corrupting the fossil of a ancient crab, it still had eggs in it, thats why the whole thing goes apekitten.
Jormag and Kralky have no known usage of dead people (dying yes but not dead).
Jormag and Kralky corrupt in the same way of spreading parts of their corruption by force as shown again in the brand and Frostgorge meta/HotW (4 times in a row as a matter of fact).
So no all your points are once again wrong as shown by in game events and descriptions.
About minions being immune… Is not about being immune, is more about the fact that as far as I know, no minion was corrupted by another ED (as if they could not do it)
The special examples in game are all found in a Lab! Come on… we can find in labs mouses growing human ears in their backs for prostetic purposes. It does not mean mouses can grow human ears… They can’t… unless in a lab…
You got the sylvari corrupted by zhaitans influence (not undead but risen mentality/gone mad and acting as one of his champions and allied with the risen) in the personal story quest at whisperwill bog. So they are immune to being risen by zhaitan, but thats more because of the lack of corpse to get rezzed, not the dragons influence itself, we got other examples off that in most 50+ non orr zones where a small group of another dragons minions are either directly (destroyers and risen krait in MM) or indirectly (icebrood and destroyers in DRGC) helping eachother.

I agree that an aoe daze is supportive. It just does not make sense to me that there are 3 classes that have a warhorn skill that provides swiftness and we are the only one that does not apply that swiftness AOE
That matters how exactly? Everyone has a way to keep permaswiftness on with relatively low investment, and its not really like swiftness is a strong boon.
a) our core design is very selfish, no point changing it
b) HOW THE FUDGE CAKE IS A AOE DAZE NOT SUPPORTIVE (so the team help skill on 4 instead of 5).
c) It 5 used to siphon hp
d) HOW BY GRENTHS BURNED WINTERSDAY BICUITS IS A AOE DAZE NOT SUPPORTIVE?
- Necromancer have tons of snares. Every weapon set has some sort of snare except off-hand dagger. Even if you do equip one, you still have a main weapon set to snare the player away.
- Necromancer has an healing all-clear condition removal skill to stop snare-locking.
- Deathshroud has distance makers too. If you got a player on your face, you can use doom to fear the player away from you. Tainted shackles immobilizes.
- If you have Warhorn, necros can use locust swarm to cripple pursuing enemies. The melee enemy dps goes down dramatically.
- If you still want a blink, use spectral walk or Flesh wurm.
Despite you complaining, I hardly ever got caught down as a necromancer. Necromancer has so much tools to slow enemies down.
That isnt disengage, that is plain kiting, i know a lot of people might not get it, but difference is if i am getting stunlocked, if i use a blink or mobility move on another profession i get away, if i stunbreak on necro and try to kite, you get another 3 types of cc in your face since you need a dodge just to get away and another one just to evade earthshaker.
Flesh wurm.
Also, in that case, warriors have no disengage. Since if they get hit with 3 types of CC and get snared they can’t escape. Even though they have the greatest mobility.
Wurm isnt a disengage, its the equivalent of saying mesmer portal is disengage, it can work like it but you are not only wasting a strong part of the skill but also need to do the clumsy cast/execution of it. Swalk could have kinda maybe counted as one before the nerf but now no.
That doesnt mean that it wont work as a quick port back after a suicidal well bombing in wvwvw, but it in no way works in pvp outside of hotjoins, to easy to stop or plain waste of a utility if you can pick Sarmor which is better like a third more times since if people are going apekitten on you the team just caps all other points.

As a heads up, sigils with active effects share cooldowns, so having two “on-crit” sigils is a little redundant— as soon as one triggers, both go on cooldown, so using two just increases the crit-proc chance when it’s available by 21% for a 51% chance to proc on crit once every 5 seconds. You could put the second slot to better use (mathematically) by using a sigil with a permanent damage bonus (force/accuracy/night).
Additional data, having another Axe/F for when you get capped is quite nice, Accuracy bonus tends to be a better second sigil if you are under 50% crit chance without buffs if you are using 2 one handed. A important thing to keep in mind for dagger is that Sigil of Blood is the best single target damage sigil unless you can keep over 3500~ power (because of the lower cooldown and being a siphon and the rest sadly cannot crit).
We’re not supposed to have a lot of mobility. At most we get swiftness, otherwise all of our “mobility” skills are designed solely to chase, or create distance while in a fight, but not leave it completely.
well that’s …dumb.
We have the ability to run into a zerg with 50,000HP, 5000 Toughness, and then pop into another 15,000 HP Shroud cover, while the death around you regenerates this pool. What would be dumb is if we could do this and then suddenly pop out of the fight when kitten hits the fan. That’s just my opinion because I play a Thief as well. And generally my thief is spongy even has a Condi/Toughness/Vit build. Where he does shine is the fact that I can leave the middle of a battlefield consistently, but that is only fair because I can be taken down incredibly quickly.
Now if only it worked how you described.
And Necromancer is a class that can rip glue apart.
I think what you mean is, it can scratch of the glue while still being stuck with the thing that was glued to it. A simple medium cooldown blink is farm more efficient.
But I do see how just about every1 in pvp or Wvw is just crazy about MM or some sort of ridiculous condi burst because its obvious…look at how many bleeds necro has, or look at how many skills/traits inflict insane chill durations…
Just to say, while we do have the easiest chill application, its also the lowest duration on average (3 seconds). Its just cond duration is broken on us just how boon duration is on guardians/ele, crit on warriors and thieves and… idk whats the core stat for engie ranger and mesmer, sorry.
emo guardian
Redundant much?
So funny to see people like Bhawb claim ‘but necro is fine, we are pure (and good) at attrition’. What a complete and utter joke.
My solution has always been the same: necro needs ‘combat only’ mobility. There’s plenty examples of this. Guard sword 2, mesmer staff 2. These things only work in combat. Necro still dont be able cheat by running away, but their combat viability might finally be adequate.
Despite how much i am against the gap between playerbase, playerbase involved with devs and devs themselves, but im pretty sure that Bhawb didnt say “necro are fine” but keep the idea of the necro pure, thus buff our attrition, only the the fancy commercial way. Also mesmer staff can be used without being in combat.
The end of a persons life being the end of their existence is your non-factual opinion of the real world, and completely inapplicable seeing as in GW2 lore the mists are not believed to be but factually proven to be the place where the spirits of the dead go, ipso facto, death is not the end. You summon a spirit during one of your personal stories, you refer to the spirit as female, the summoner refers to the spirit as female, the spirit refers to itself as female. It is female, sexual dichotomy continues after death according to lore.
Secondly,
Asexual: Without sex or sexuality.Asexual is defined as having no gender at all. Having two genders is not asexuality, which is how all such plants are identified, being unable to reproduce is not being asexual. Asexual reproductions is merely means reproducing in the closed system of a single organism, regardless of whether or not the organism has one, two, or no gender. Something can reproduce asexually without being an asexual organism, and vice versa.
Every single Sylvari identifies as male or female, has male or female sexual organs according to the developers, and persumably DNA tests would show them to be male or female. And they do not reproduce one way or the other, only the pale tree does who is not a Sylvari herself, therefore they are not asexual by any definition.
And frankly, I don’t even need to know you in order to know you do not refer to any dead person as an ‘it’, you’re reaching, and arguing for the sake of protecting your intellectual pride rather than because you actually believe your own argument. Just let it go.
a) give me empirical proof of a dead person living on, till then death is the end, fact.
b) mists are only for heroic spirits or tragic deaths, all of the leftover life force that isnt tied to the world is pulled into the giant annoying riven in the UW, its the equivalent of having electricity and trying to make it go trough a wire if you put rubber on it
c) Asexual is the lack of sexual organs or demophism withing a species, which funny enough is over half the plants on earth and some types of worms; TL DR spores, buds, division and vegitative spread, in forms which may include variations of the other forms ARE ASEXUAL REPRODUCTION OF ASEXUAL BEINGS. Please show me where a human can reproduce asexually or a plant that doesnt wall under flowering plants (the only form of flora that can even be described as having a sex because the reproductive process is similar in concept to animal reproduction, thus why we also call such cells sperm and eggs in gametophyte reproduction despite them being nothing like animal sperm and eggs, but a more advanced version of cell fusion, P.S. dont you dare bring the feminist argument of the chromosome type and/or count because we by now know that even single cell bacteria have the foundation to evolve them without the need for gender as a side effect of nutrition types).
ALSO NO, ALL SYLVARI DONT HAVE A SEX, they cant ever reproduce in any other way because they are all the same as EVERY FRIGGN DEV BLOG ABOUT IT SHOWS (here the two most obvious examples of plain stating, no they are sexless/genderless by book definition: http://www.talktyria.net/2011/08/11/sylvari-lore-interview-with-ree-soesbee-kristen-perry/ and http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sylvari).
Reason why you got male and female on the slection screen is: a) A boob slider would be a very disturbing thing for GW2 b) You cannot market sentient plants… you cannot actually market anything that is generic and humanoid without “looking sexy”
c) For kitten and giggles to annoy the real lore fans by having to hit the rest of the players (e.g. you) over the head with the same articles about the sylvari over and over till you understand that they are just a bunch of plant cells.
Also no a corpse is a corpse, if you talk about a personality that a once living being once had yes i wont say it because we arent talking about the remaining dirt in the earth, but if you want to tell me that a decayed corpse that can float around and summon other remains via stygian powers from the underworld has a kitten gender, fine, but ill hold to what isnt in la la land of flying invisible fairies and elephants on turtles, etc that hold the earth in its place in the universe.
Your great-great-great-great-great grandfather is likely decomposed to nothing but bones by now, when talking about him you would claim that five generations back you were born to a gender-less thing rather than just calling your grandfather a he?
Your claim is ridiculous, if he is male in life then he is still male in death as he identified in life, or undeath as the case may be. Putting aside identity, DNA can be drawn from well decomposed flesh or bone and identified as coming from a male or female. Without DNA bone structure and musculature alone can accurately identify the majority of people as male or female. If the female form appears male in every sense (which it does), it’s because of a lack of time or resources for making a female version, not an obscure pat on the back for your views on gender dichotomy.
And check your lore, or 5th grade biology, sylvari aren’t asexual, neither are any photosythesizing plants. All plants are male, female, or both male and female, there are no plants which are neither.
Actually a body of 7 generations prior to me is probably dust so yes its a it.
Also you dont have a gender in death because its the end of your existence, you dont suddenly continue to live on also if you dont know, every being has the potential to be male or female since prime multi-cell organisms and lower forms of life to even some types of reptiles are hermaphrodites with both genders fully functional (and some even able to reproduce with themsef/clone/do a very crippled version of mitosis). Also sylvari aint technically flowers (what you mean), they are beings using eukaryotic cells instead of variation of animal cells (thus they are from greenish to redish colors being defined by their chloroplast) they are all born from parts of the pale tree which is using a type of vegetative reproduction used by the same kittening potatoes you probably eat when going to McDonalds (or they could be using a advanced version of spore reproduction as used by alge, but thats kinda stretching it since they are a bit too complex for it/it would take way longer for a sylvari to be created than 25 years), so yes there are asexual plants, as a matter of fact most of the ones in existence are asexual, the fact that you may have never looked at most veggies, flora in the sea or jungle is not a sign that plants require being male or female.
DONT YOU DARE TRY TEACH ME ON BASIC BIOLOGY! (that by the way, probably even a first grader would know if he read it or looked it up on the net)
Here’s the thing… we don’t know what Mordremoth’s powers are.
Does he create followers by killing them and raising them / reanimating the dead (Zhaitan)?
Does he create followers out of molten rock (Primordus)?
Does he create follows out of ice and the promise of power (Jormag)?
Does he create followers out of his corrupting breath (Kralkatorrik)?
Kralky and Jormag use living beings that fell flawed (not powerful/not perfect enough)
Zhai and Primo use dead (corpses and fossils)
Bubbles is known to create beings from water, so Mordre could fall under creation of beings from plantlife (would explain not only the disappearance of the plant beings so often fought in GW, but also the Sylvari origins if it aint tied to the druids).
Lol I misunderstood what you said and was wondering if there were actually Runes of The Bust.
