Just to ask, did you try dagger/dagger elementalist while going all out for toughness vit and power?
A) pistolwhip and axe spin2win are designed to be you die if you dont know how to run away (even if Pwhip shouldnt be usable from stealth and have a at least 2 second cooldown/not stun if you chain it)
B) thief has half our hp pool so cheap tricks are a must
Go lich form to 3 shot most of the dragons humanoid minions and then see how it just pops into nothing when i touch water and get eaten by risen sharks?
Nahh it must be the cute Shadow Fiend wiggle (despite it looking like a giant demented sperm if you run) and using Transfusion/Life Transfer to aoe heal in dungeons when team wide damage appears.
I think someone might have been playing ele and warrior a bit too much, DS is in its core idea fine (transformation, you get new skills, model goes dark super saiyan nonsense mode from corrupt death powers) Life force itself being the set amount of hp you have in there and causing you to ask yourself was i in DS for too much and cant use it in a short amount of time again to take some big hit? While your suggestion would make condition, well and minion bomber necro setups to be able to use DS, it would destroy axe, dagger and life force/DS main form setups.
3 main things it lacks – Life blast changing effects with weapons equipped, a 5 in DS/F2 skill that benefits overall as a save yourkitten heal that drains all LF left and last but not least the old stun break effect upon use/exit.
You can always do well ifyou do well.
Current GW2 necromancers don’t use death as tool.

Just to note, a necromancer is anyone/anything that can bring back something that was living and then died back to any kind of life (e.g. Franken Fran is a tech seen a necromancer despite using science instead of magic) and everyone who gets their powers from unholy sources, thus all Liches, Dracoliches, Wizards that use their own blood to power spells (blood mage a hemomancer/person who can control blood, not a magic user that powers his spell with blood rites, Dragon Age derped it up for most people), Vampires (real vampire, the ones that impale people, bathe in their blood and then force the next victim to eat the fleshy remains of their last one cough Blood Countess cough) and the Grim Reaper himself (but since he counts as the element of death itself and having a eternal energy source, one could class him as a semi-devine being not just the entity of death itself). Also Necromancy has no relation to demons, that is a warlocks field of magical powers
For short Necromancer isnt just person who has a army of skeletons… if you wanna go by the army mechanic reroll into mesmer (MM/Pressure Hexes) or engie (Summoning Rit/Minion Bomber)
The only thing i agree with with the thread is that there should be a special personal story quest that lets us get a spectral/bone dragon.
Necros are by no means fragile.
They do have Light Armor yeah.However Necromancers and Warriors share the top spot in Health!
They have almost double the health of Thieves, Guardians and Elementalists.
Warriors also don’t have two Health bars (Death Shroud), so Necro might actually take more hits than a Warrior.Thing is compared to Warriors Necros hit like wet noodles.
All the Life Leech and Life Force generation is meant to make up for the low defense.
Unfortunately Life Leech heals for pathetic amounts right now due to bugs…Also some things just deal so much damage that it doesn’t really matter what Profession you are.
Eat a Thief’s burst without countering it in time or get hit by a nasty dungeon mob and pow! …you are down.Necros Dagger auto-attack was melee but with a trait that made it ranged at some point.
I think it then became just always ranged.
Then always melee!I like using the Dagger sometimes.
It’s not all that optimal yet but it’s good enough for PvE solo play.
DS isnt and never will be a second skill bar, it takes much less damage to take down than even half of your real hp. But that cant be really talked about till they fix all the trait/skill problems.
Try engie, you feel exactly the old ritualist vibes from em, just dont get the theme, if you want the theme roll necro (but warning we arekittenas a trip to hell and back).

Magic Find is the issue you nailed it.
Lets think on that a moment:
1) IF I am stacking magic find, the reason is to find more and better loot. In this case I lose out on vital stats.2) IF I am stacking real and vital stats and not magic find, I am losing out by getting less and worse loot.

Well thats more of a risk thing (do you wanna do stuff faster, but have lower drop rate or a the same amount of stuff over a bit longer period of time with a higher drop rate), the problem is, right now we have no idea if magic find works/what are the soft caps/whats the actual magic find formula and what exactly it applies to (yes it increases the chance of you getting shiny, but of what exactly, does it apply to crafting mats too? Does 100% mf give you double the chance of getting a worthwile drop or drops all together, etc, etc).
Flame Of The Titan.3649 – frenzy is a effect (like some skills apply bleeds/poison/might/protection, etc not as a condition or boon, but as its own icon and effect, they shouldnt be removable), also in terms of boon removal on bosses, necros do have corrupt boon.
Could it just be that they “left” so that the humans can grow as a race and become independant of them? I mean humans are a lot like the charr were in EOTN in the aspect of evolving as a race right now, false gods gone (and the white mantle being almost non-existant) and no one leader (we can take the importance of the gods for humans about as much as the khan-ur for the charr).
I think of the gods as “parents” of all humans, always being around, but as the humans are now going into a adolescent phase of evolution, letting us evolve and kinda not take the footsetps of Canthans who isolated themself, kinda went all religious and xenophobic.

Its Minion master or if you go for nova, spam bone minions and such stuff and go for lich, Minion Bomber, please stick to the original build names.
Mesmer is nothing like the necro…don’t know where the hell that came from.
Spec into confusion and phantasams and GW2 Mesmers are the equivalent of real necros from GW, punishing your enemy for making moves, getting stronger the longer the fight goes on and being able to do massive condition damage (since confusion pretty limited to mesmer and engie setups).
By pure class mechanics, necros sadly taken up the role of a M/Ne just as Engies are Rit/R
How to play necro in GW2: Press create, chose race, when selecting profession, dont press the skull, but the pink mask, its actually the real necromancer in terms of gameplay with tons of minions that dont moonwalk on a small rock for the next 50 seconds after they use charge, auto attack and your class has a lot of epic conditions that punish the enemy for doing stuff (spiteful spirit that stacks up to 25 times!), just be sure to buy a black and light green dye for your gear!

possante.8310 – Think of the kit the necro has, then about the kits of other professions, even if it would be op, there are skills other professions have that can be called op as well, but shouldnt be nerfed because they fit in the class and actually balance it.
Thus never call a skill op unless it can kill a enemy by just 1 button press (hell even pistolwhip, the most bull**** why can you stun for a total of 1.4 seconds for doing nothing but pressing it twice while also doing massive damage, fits the kit the profession has).

Since the “gold legion” isnt part of the “true charr” anymore, eles, necros and hunters got split up
Blood got frontline brutes: Fire and Earth ele, MM necros, ofc all warriors, guardians that aint into summoning and staff/scepter/torch use.
Iron got the mid line support tanky do everything utility guys: Water ele, all engie, spirit hunters, well necro, summon/consec guardians.
Ash are stillkitten ass-in to their backline: Mesmer, Thief, Corruption necro, non spirit using hunters, Air ele.
As you hear in game a lot, go iron or go home.
Should it get the direct damage component removed so that it can be cast either way like Corrupt boon and Epidemic to get part of the effect (self bleed and life force)?
Its 272 direct damage at 1800 power.
It actually does scale, just not in a worthwhile manner, it seems like the total of +healing goes to the total of total healing from the siphons, the trait is just bugged of again scales with the total effect ant not per tick effect making it seem useless however, the siphons with no + heal or trait grant about 900-1k healing with the trait and + healing it grants about 2k from the total siphon, better and can be used, but doesn’t really feel like it has a point if it’s scales in that manner.
I ment the vampiric trait that stays 25 or 29 all the time
Chillblains and Putrid only have their effect active within non traited range even if you get greater marks.
- Putrid just seems to have its free will, on orr it often didnt work for full aoe, in wvwvw, it works… really dont know why, maybe it nerfs itself if there are risen in range? That would actually be a really funny thing (pretty sure it just has to do with the fact that marks are block/can be dodged and risen mobs are on super speed steroids causing problems in terms of selecting enemies in range for Putrid Mark).
It is a powerful ability if you look at it as a single spell (ignoring the fact that its still bugged), but in combination of the whole necro kit, its just above normal, just as warriors heal signet that gives the dolyak rune effect. Necros already have pretty nice and stronger skills in terms of one part of the effect of the plague signet, making it a save a utility slot skill for a bit weaker (but still pretty strong) effect than what you could have gotten if you used 2 skills.
I’ll make mental notes on ppl that say Consume Conditions isn’t the best heal on any class in the entire game, let alone being somehow underpowered.
Well it has a lot of utility and epic synergy with necro, but overall as a healing skill, no, maybe 5th to 7th on top 10, but not the best.
Gulbrandr – they were there more to balance the fact that necromancy was limited in Cantha because of the pretty distorted connection to the mists and worlds in that the spirits rest (both ritualists and necros drain their powers from the same source, necros offer their blood and dark emotions/bind their souls as eternal servants to grenth, ritualists their mind – get blind, then crippled, etc, but their spirits remaining kinda free)
Assassins on the other hand had no permanent connection to the mists/spirit realms, but acted as physical servants to Grenth (Necro are in spirit world liches, ritualists and dervishes of grenth do half half, Assassins are humans blessed with powers over death in life), thus either way they had little mystical and religious elements, its just Cantha being really into gods that gave em religious meaning.
Necro bring stuff back out of the Underworld, assassins make sure that stuff goes into the Underworld.
The tactic that increases the area of marks DOES indeed work, it just doesnt update the tooltip.
One bug that MUST be fixed though is whenever a necromancer is transformed into another form, (lich form, moa bird from mesmer elite, etc) we lose ALL our minions.
This should not happen. It would be fine to loose control of them if your transmogrified into a moa bird, but desummoning all of them is NOT ok.

No i ment DS would be usable if the last Trait of Soul reaping would give stability while in DS, then and only then would the “ds helps necros as more than a meat shield” be viable.
You know, you can actually do it, go close to water, press the up arrow or if you wanna be hardcore W and OMG its a luck based minigame on how many CC stacking krait, hylek and “Ooooobooo Biggg Teeeth, Quaggan likes you” are there and use your harpoon or again, if you wanna be hardcore, spear and fish em!
Tony.2150 – post would be correct if the last trait in the SR line would give you stability while in DS not for just 3 seconds, since hard cc makes it pretty useless since you are stuck and cant use CC breaks half the time since depending on CC, the go out of DS button will/will not go on cooldown as your other skills.
Oh also making Life Blast not lose half the damage upon going under 50% Lforce, but scale for every 5 or 10% Lforce would make it ok to actually stay in DS for a longer amount of time, not justkitteni absorb a hit or do semi viable ranged damage for 4-5 seconds and get 6-7

Vampiric minor trait does not scale with Healing Stats, as well as Vampiric Precision and all Siphon Skills. This is major bug, which makes this traits useless. Healing for 29/per hit when ppl hit u from averge non-crit 500 to 9-11k dmg? Just… I dont have words. And it is that way SINCE BWE1!! Since BWE1 nobady fixed Healing scaling?..
Sometimes I have a feeling that noone plays Necro from ANET. I mean- dont u see this geen numbers? 29 with 1200 Healing? U playing it?
Sigil of Superior Leeching for example scales with Healing- as it should be, so it can be done. Fix it, because as long as it is not fixed that way, all Siphoning is just pathethic in PvP or High-End PvE.
Its Vampiric, it should scale both of healing power and off damage (both a semi low scailing, but together should be enough to neutralize basic npc damage). Also its flat 25 heal or 29 if you get the “+50% life stealing” trait.

Just to note, terror by itself does 44 damage, the rest of the damage comes from power (what means it at least has a scailing, unlike vampiric, yay for 25 hp flat).
Most NPCS ignore like 2/3 of all stealth skills, its because A-net doesnt know how to make mobs stay in combat (what happens to every other class ever most of the time) after they hit a mob but the mob cant see the player avatar.
Also i want that Krait pull on my necro, give them the 99% chance to miss or not work Spectral grasp.
That while making sense off the name/theme, doesnt make sense with traits
Rather go Crit damage and precision goes to curse, Cond Damage and Power on Spite while SR gets the Cond duration.
Also in that case Spite would give 2 primary stats what would make it a must have.

Bosses like SE golem 2 are the reasons why people look for easy fast grinds, bosses like the ED infused eiffigy/golem in SE are the reason why and how dungeons should be made.
all the text under here is just my banter about it in a longer format
Just to say its ok to give bosses a instakill move without taunt on explo mode if he has it in a chain of spells he always uses and isnt random, its ok to swarm us with 4 vet mobs and 20 normals that chain cc you thus making stability the only viable move even if most classes dont have a reliable source of it, its ok for deathtraps with really really small animations or the red circles that blend wit the background, wipes are part of dungeons, but whats not ok is having to go trough it 10 times to feel like you got something worth out of it, every dungeon run thats difficulty is based on nintendo hard mechanics should give you a twice as rewarding feeling as the BS you went trough *e.g. AC explo mode, spider/breeder room and the spin2win guy are really nice, hard but fun since you know that if you die, its because you didnt dodge – even if the pull wires of the spin2win should be more visible, hard to notice on highest settings, but the godkittenburrow rooms that are based on how many guardians, how much burst with auto attacks and if your team can dps at exactly this and this time to manipulate the spawn of the next burrow are just bs, also such rooms make condition builds and necromancers cry because structures dont take cond damage thus forcing lich form to get the dps out to destory a burrow.

- good starting setup for conditions with minion meat wall (they are to stupid right now to be usable for anything else/to build all out minion master)
Fight vs a champion mob: Summon your minions, send golem charing, drop CPC, use Deathly Swarm (and normal attack to transfer your weakness to the enemy) and Grasping Dead, Bone Fiend immobil, ONE putrid explosion when you see the bone minion on low hp, when you see CPC to wear off use Enfeebling blood and Grasping Dead again, swap to staff, use Chillblains and Putrid mark in that order under the enemy to cause more weakness, drop reaper infront of you, use MoB and swap to Death Shroud, till around 60% life force, Doom the enemy, go out of DS, swap to scepter after dumping a MoB again, resummon dead minions~

The hard part is to look at enemy boons to transform them into conditions and when to use plague signet (can be used for the stunbreaker in last resort).
The heal is the most powerfull heal of the game hands down, remove all condition and half the time give back 10k+ out of 23k+…
Healing Signet, Withdraw and Mirror are angry that you gave their title to Consume.
And for necros a few bugs here and there, but nothing serious.
Makes obvious troll obvious or someone who didnt even bother to really play.
Pretty please! Give us the retroactive fix! Otherwise, massive whines for sure! As i’m sure the “EXOTIC” boxes should drop something more worthy than a kitten random lv20-80 green!

It seems that there are specific areas for some drops, here are some pics (all only single target weapon setups without the use of utility skills).
Allow us to transmute items, or upgrade items to a higher class/level, so that crafters can recycle visually appealing low level items into something useful.
Thats kinda part of their gem shop… You know transmutation stones, i dont like that we cant name em ourself while making em soulbound and that transmuting 2 items that you would wanna sell gives you a soulbound item, but it is part of the “profit model”.
How about a vendor gets implemented in the home instance, that will give you upon request a item that creates a bundle, the bundles availible would be based upon personal story: did you go for tanks/mortars or for the cauldron, did you get the anti dragon magic gun, etc; and slayer achivements: e.g. a litospheric subwoofer that you get for killing dredge that lets you once a day melt the brains of all dredge within a 3kradius and stop their respawn for 10 minutes, a centaur tribe altar that makes all centaur witin 3k remember their family bloodlines and overall causes them to be hostile between eachother, a electrostatic harpoon rifle that does 3x normal damage of your underwater weapon to sharks and jellyfish, stolen flame legion effigy dolls that burn foes around em and siege damage to icebrood and plants, etc;
Ofc all would need pretty massive cooldowns and unable to chain used in the same zone, but it would give us a reason to return to the home instance, make some choices actually make a difference, go for the slaying achivements and god knows how many other implementations just for lolz.
