If in pvp, 2 of the actually viable setups are Scepter/Dagger and Dagger/Warhorn (both having staff as second weapon option just because it is the best necro weapon right now), Plague being a must have most of the time (Golem is too busy fixing his horn and paining his intestens, moonwalking with walls or plain texting his girlfiend to be of any use + he doesnt know how to jump), typical utilites are Well of Darkness, Corrupt Boon (despite it only working 50% of the time still pretty strong) and Plague signet if the enemy has a lot of Mesmers and Rangers or Spectral Armor if Warriors and Thieves.
We dont really have both pvp and pve VIABLE builds, but if you just wanna annoy people, id say go for the Mr. Freeze build (or one of its variants), you will actually be able to make 3 people rage quit because they wont be able to cast anything while you plague away~

Swapped since BWE for Lich to give precision/crit chance instead of toughness/armor. Also it only gives 1.5x hp not 2x like Plague.
BTW on the god thing, Lyss, Grenth and Dwayna each got seperate aspects of water (Lyss with liquid, Grenth solid, Dwayna gas) Abbadon was the Seas as Melandru is the Earth (oceans and continents), overall they share different parts of the elemental spectrum, but not specific power of all parts of a element. Water eles were under grenth because most of their spells (even now) are ice based (despite them not generally fitting his theme of undeath and judgement, just as air never really fit dwayna since weakening a enemy is against her techings), now they would go much more to Dwaynas domain because they are actually fully focused on both water and healing.
So far no results from 4 Sunless, 11 Jormags and 6 Shatterers… (and thats with asking the whole map if anyone got it)

andele the guardian bunker spec is by no means superior to the necro bunker spec i use shamans amulet with a clerics gem and the 6 piece undead rune set with healing per kill increase on my staff and freeze/bleed on my scepter/dagger i trait into wells apply protection and the reduced cd on wells plus death shroud stability my well when i have 25 stacks of heal increase does 6.2k healing over 10 secs plus gives 3 secs of protection to everyone my guild had our guardian bunker spec to dmg because i actually lasted just as long as him and all of my wells gave a better overall benefit seeing as how they cant be dispelled (their benefits that is) so i agree with kryshade 100% and i do think there is a lot of l2p issues
Maybe true on the durability part, but guardians are pretty much both solo and group orientated at once, while a necro kinda overspecializes into a single aspect and drains utility from others (you cannot viably go for both high damage from conditions, 29k hp and at least 2.5k armor while still having the healing power required for when you get outnumbered, while guardians can with reverse hp/armor setup, you know since they are the polar opposite of us). Not saying that necro feels worse than playing guardians, quite the opposite, Melee necro> spin2win sword/axe warrior, D/D ele then Scepter/Focus mesemer are for me the most fun to play in terms of flow, just that you cant set a necro in a position that another class wouldnt do better in almost every situation except at this weird chill/weakness and aoe blind/poison orientated frontline disruptor (what is actually great to annoy the kitten out of mesmers thiefs and rangers).

Overall in terms of how useful the weapons are:
Staff>Scepter>Off Dagger>Focus>Warhorn>Main Dagger>Axe
Also Staff aa is kitten, but works pretty well with lined up targets and the life force generation is nice if you cant get into melee for dagger, axe has the overall weakest dps (the only saving grace is Unholy feast, even scepters do more because of the bleeds you get if stacking power while staff 3-4-2 does more burst in less time than axe 2 not to mention that it reduces the enemy dps by whooping 83% because of the Weakness and Chill.
Anybody got some any good links to some cool looking staffs for necros, currently going for nightmare staff but I’m sure theres other better stuff, like that Final Rest could you post a link ;D

From all the legendaries, the axe/aka most useless weapon necro can have, actually does look the best for the dark caster vibe if you are human, you kinda turn into a weak versions of the dervish Avatar of Grenth.
Ok you obviously didnt play every build of every class… hell even the troll “Garen” warrior build (that i personally love to deaht since its epic fun in PvE) that is pretty much a one off gives you a better and more precise kit for any role except bunkering… and in terms of that why bother with necro or engie if you are really that much into pvp if you can roll guardian for bunkering (sure its much less fun to just kitten in a bubble with all boons up pretty much 90% of combat time, but pvp aint that much about fun even with a full 5 man setup in most cases).

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned, but it’s not on the list. Absolutely no traits work while in Plague Form (assuming it’s the same for Lich, I don’t use it)…
Traits dont work in all forms of transformation (half of em in DS, Mist Form and other non elite transformations). As a norn mesmer, go stealth with snow leopard, it wont cloak for longer.

Ackinbal.2617 – Nothing against the mindset of Survive>Damage, but I mean the Reanimator Trait (5 points into Death Magic) lets enemies smart enough to target the horror rally, unlike killing a mesmer illusion or ele summon, Horrors (both the trait and mark of horrors) ones rally enemies upon death.
Learend that the hard way in the tower, went in, pew pewed with Claws, used horrors, omg the mesmer and theif are for some reason up again, i die in half a second from moa and pistolwhip.

Nemesis.8593 – Epic as always, but let me play devil’s advocate for a few points, Mark of evasion proc heals for more than vampiric precision, but why even bother with it if you can take Unyealding Blast on the first trait option and then get either swarm or soul marks on the second, what brings me to the second point.
Overall Staff burst is higher and harder to avoid than Axe burst despite it being a overall introduction into necro weapon with worst pvp auto attacks (but you use it for 2 on enemy and 3-4-5 under your feet when in melee either way) as you show at around 34 min, kinda also making it a must use for any kinda of more defensive but glass cannong build in pvp (not to mention how epic putrid mark is) or youll get even more of the “OMG this build to squishy” whine.< – all that without the banter:
Showing general and always appliable trait setup (like the 20 in spite and Stability in DS) in general give better reactions than build specific and situational traits (especially since vampiric precision heals for 45 on squishies and down to 15 on high toughness targets because it unlike vampiric kinda scales of damage done too).
And last but not least, sadly you didnt go over our stun breaks and in what cases to actually slot one in (for Thief and Ranger focused enemy team/if they are annoying you going SArmor (since they can burst you no matter where), Warriors and Eles SWalk (good positioning screws over their ability combos making them waste way more skills on you to actually do damage thus overall losing out on dps just because you got out of 100 blades/churning earth and then ported back after they spin2win into bullcharge/lightning into backglip into fire into knockdowned to you) and Plague Signet for enemy necros or even 1 more stun break use for mesmers (since they pretty much require you to take the DS stability, Plague and SArmor if they know how the use their phantasam daze chain and are nice to use Time Warp over Moa, since Moa+good mesmer = he got a moa critter kill). < – all that without the banter:
A small section about stun breaks and who they in general counter are really nice in SPvP “tutorial” videos especially on necros since we start with 0 LF (or 35~ if we abuse the Vitality, Walk and Wurm Trick described on another thread).

Wow… nothing new or interesting at all… not even the fact that for dungeons we are the best blind and weakness appliers, nor that Plague form doubles toughness and last but not least for MMs that minions have 1 attack each that changes their auto attack damage (golems each 4th attack 1.1k damage, bone fiends 10 second cripple attack 740 damage, shadow fiend if his last haunt attack hit but couldnt be applied 490 damage, dont know the wurm one since it seems to be random, but he actually attacks for less and pretty sure that the stupid baby dredge/jaggered horrors/bone minions dont have em), for those who doubt this and dont wanna wait to go trough all of em, just summon golem and wait for the uppercut attack.
Best legendary for necros is a exotic called Final Rest, currently even rarer than the legendaries~
… no the thing is the %hp things trigger upon getting hit in DS in general losing the whole point and cd when it isnt needed or plain bugging out DS.
Aga.8641 – well they are fixing bugs, annoying eles by screwing over their combos into being twice as complicated as they should be while still doing less dps than their auto attack spam, making guardians thinkg from what side they need to faceroll on they keyboard to be immortal and plain trying to hide the power of mesmers~ Oh yeah and killing apple lovers. Got another bug regarding Death Shroud and Moa Bird.
If you get transformed into a Moa Bird you can’t leave Death Shroud. Easyly reproducible since it happens 100% of the time.I personally would like to ENTER death shroud when I’m MOA’d. It would allow my shroud to soak the damage I’d take while MOA’d.
Look up on the forums for the post about minions despawning when moad, you can see my moa shroud there~
How about just reducing Dooms recharge to 10 seconds?
It does, test it and you will see life force will go up to 98% from 96% if you have regenration up.

I’m in full Clerics actually, and no healing affects my life force in any way, and that’s not the same as any other transformation. Any heal that hits you while in DS is completely wasted, while in other transformations, it does still heal you. All of this has nothing to do with non-specific traits not working in transformations.
Though, I have to admit, that it doesn’t necessarily “have” to get fixed. I’m fine with it being a part of the skill of using DS — timing it so that others don’t blow their heals on it (and not wasting the WoB heal with it). That’s completely acceptable, even though it’s something only the necro would have to be mindful of. If they were to change it, however, I would not be sorry.
No healing skills, but the regenration boon~ the transformation thing is, if you are healing in a transformation, heals affect the hp gained from it first, then your hp that you will have after you get out of it (whats even more screwed up with life force), for short heals that hit you in lich form if you took any damage essencially just healed you for 2/3 of the amount, heals in plague for 1/2 because going out of the transformation takes away hp.
Lastly: no, currently you cannot be healed (whether through regeneration, or some other healing ability) while in DS. This is definitely something that should be fixed, one way or the other. It doesn’t matter if it’s done by letting heals affect LF or heal through DS.
About it, Its kinda like all transformations (they reduced the out of Transform hp loss, but you still do lose a bit), if possible it takes as much % hp of your currnt hp as it gave you, that applies with Life force as well, thus regeneration boons do actually regenrate life force (only in such pittiful amounts you dont notice it unless you go full shammy or cleric gear), you can confirm it with the Full of Life perk, also just as all other transformations, perks that aint specific to them dont work in them (just like plague, moa and rampager).
One thing that Necros have over all classes, we can do kitten builds (chill focus, weakness focus, even vulnerability focused) while not suffering that much on the damage side because its low either way, lich form is kitten and pretty much the most op elite if you aint against a guardian/mesmer for wvwvw also you are a servant of Grenth and Dhuum, nothing is better than that (i mean who doesnt wanna serve a kitten nerd who can summon a even more unholy equivalent of the 3rd reich and short tempered british incarnation of death that has a scythe so powerful that it bans people with his basic attack).

Well necromancers mostly were on the chatoic evil side sometimes stepping into some weird limbo between lawful evil (khilbron while on “our” side/most necro trainers) or chaotic good (Eve, Master of Whispers).
Works, your target only, on like a 25 second cd, chills and strips 3 boons, doesnt do any damage~
Because noone do… its only jumps that work (as in that aint reliant on ground). Also mesmer potal HDP~

Nope it wasnt in the last patch, but in one of the pretty long talks after it in LA on E-Bay~ The on crit ones do share cd, the swap ones dont, but was wrong on the 2 of the same type on same set post testing, same as the stacking ones the “stronger” one activates (so yes you can have hydro sigil on both main weapon set and secondary weapon set and they will adctivate each, but 2 of the swap type on the same set wont activate).

I think one of the devs said it was a chest drop. Can’t remember which thread that was though.
Twas here and in pm, large boss drop, so that pretty much cancels out… mystic forge and crafts, yay for reducing the chance by 2 out of a 135 possible ways (each meta, dungeon + crafting and MF) of getting exotics excluding map completion.
Sadly no updates i wish Linsey just to tell us where it drops… ;_; I mean it will either way be effected by stupid RNG god powers thus making it probably a 1 month grind.

• Corrosive Poison Cloud – its 1 pulse every time the enemy doesnt have the conditions on, 5 seconds pre pulse each time, so overall yes if you would go to the count of 1 pulse pre second like all aoes, it is 2 seconds pre pulse.
• Plague Signet – uptade, it removes 1 condition, not all just 1 pre check, but copies all on allies to you (if you ally has just 1 condition it is actually transfered for remaining duration, if he has e.g. 3, 1 is transfered to you, while others are just copied, kinda like Deathly Swarm and Gathering Plague, it always transfers just 1 condition pre check.
Also possible that the ranger had the sigil that removes boons thus removing my stability while in plague (still kitten move that you can remove transformation stability) but it is a option.

Sigil of Hydromancy on staff and sigil on hydromancy on e.g. dagger dont have shared cooldowns (you can even have something like 1hydro main scepter, 1 energy on dagger, 1 energy on main hand dagger 1 hydro on warhorn and all will proc each swap).
Nope sorry, never really looked at necro chill fests till i actually realized how low of a recharge dark path has and that weapon swaps sigils dont share cd last patch~ btw looks epic.

Wow in terms of burst, but what im saying is dps, you hitting the enemy 4 times pre second with spiny vulnerability cheesewheels for 1k goes around even with you hitting a 6k~ life blast pre 1 and a half seconds (you cant crit for more on dungeon mobs/warriors and guardians no matter how hard you try unless you go lich form) and not to mention, crits are pretty unreliable when you need em.
