OP, simply put, this is your (rather uninformed) opinion. You can’t demand everyone else comes in here and had the same opinion as you. You are uninformed because seriously this is the first week of raids. People are going to be in there 6 hours because they don’t know what they are doing. When it’s all figured out a raid isn’t going to take more than 2 hours. I’m certain Anet did not design raids to be 6 hours long. I read through some of you other posts and you’re pretty good at catastrophizing everything, in other word blowing the negatives out of proportion. With such a negative viewpoint on everything you’re only going to have a negative experience.
I finished this on chrono with wiping on the last boss. We had a lot of bugs and half the party including the instance owner died during the part where you’re supposed to glide due bugs. Anyway everyone wiped and started over. It bugged again and skipped through all the conversation you’re supposed to have when the owner is a slyvari.
Anyway we chained CC’d him with gravity well and lots of hard CC and it worked. Worth a shot if you’re not getting anywhere.
I just find it strange that I play the 32 bit and have had 0 disconnects. I play almost daily 3-6 hours. And have run DS like 15-20 times. Maybe I’m really really lucky? Why would some people have so much trouble with the 32 bit but I’ve had none? I would switch to the 64 but since the 32 is working fine for me…. Also I play on lower graphic settings tho my computer could handle higher. Maybe that’s why?
The only traps that leave red circles are found in the environment. Not made by players.

Not much but I pvp daily. And ranger traps you have to guess where they are laying them. Usually right on the point. And dodge into it to trigger it but evade. There’s no red circle showing me there’s a trap there. If a ranger is clever they will place the traps somewhere that isn’t directly on point and try to lure me over to them as I’ll be less likely to dodge the trap if I am unsure of where they laid it. The whole point of traps would be pointless if I can just see where it is with a red circle. I’d dodge into them every time making it super pointless. Which is also why laying wells down before a fight is not the best idea. Tho it does make people purposefully lose endurance at the start of a fight which can pay off later.
What? There is a white ring for the person that dropped them in the case of ranger ect. There never was a red ring. I am assuming you’re talking about pvp. It’s intended. There are red rings for things like when you play against a staff ele.
1) Note how much gold you have on Monday (like in a note on your desktop)
2) Play the game
3) Note how much gold you have Sunday
4) Subtract the difference between Monday and Sunday
5) multiply by x%
6) Then deposit in the guild vault.
Total time spent: 2-3 mins per week (unless you’re really bad at math)
I use the guild hall so often now. One trip a week to the guild vault isn’t hard plus some simple math. Would rather see dev time into something better or bug fixes. Something that takes maybe 2 mins extra out of your week would take a substantial amount of time to develop if it was automatic. Plus that also makes things more complicated and opens it up to bugs such as the tax being implemented and it poofs into thin air.
So no thanks. Not that I think Anet would ever consider something like this in the first place. If you really think about this it makes no sense.

So she became more and more frustrated at these “troll calls.” Out of spite she would change any person who asked for a ferry into a Dare Devil from whatever previous class they were gifted in. Until eventually she saw a Dare Devil trying to fight an ambient creature and lost. She took pity on the profession but she was still stuck with a major dilemma. It had been 300 years since the last great fairy summoning but she knew only deep powerful combined fairy magic could fix her problem.
So she had made up her mind, she would summon the great fairy council. One rainy day she glided into a thicket when it started to storm. She put up her umbrella and started the summoning spell. Poof! Poooof!! Poof! Poofpoofpoof!! The other six fairies poofed into exsistence from across the mists. She presented her case and all the faries thought she was being melodramatic. This would simply not do. Bop! Bop! BopBopBopBop!! She bopped them all on the head with her red umbrella 10 times each. All the fairies became quite irate but apparently the headache it gave them made them change their minds. So they decided to pull their fairy magic together and get rid of the term ferry and replace it with the word taxi in everyone’s minds by tapping into Mesmer magic. They chose to replace ferry with the word taxi because they liked animals and several faries have this “thing” for dead stuffed animals and often end up marrying them. They thought if more people used the word taxi, perhaps the world would become more accepting of taxidermy marriage. I know this seems rather strange but that is fairy logic. And so it came to be that the word ferry was replaced with taxi in all the world. The end.
1) Get a team of 5 guild mates
2) Have each mate create a new Char character with the same exact ugly characteristics.
3) Make sure you’re making it as big and ugly as possible.
4) Name them exactly the same, with each name changing slightly with a ’ Over a letter.
5) Equip Wing back piece and some outfit everyone has.
6) make sure everyone is using deceptive evasion
7) watch the rage quit.
I did this with a friend it was hilarious. With lots of clones it actually makes it somewhat challenging to tell which is the real Mesmer.
I mean seriously. Can you imagine 20 huge char mesmers/clones/ phantasms with those huge wings all on the same point.

This would be neat but a lot of people would say it’s immersion breaking or they would have to come up with a new climbing mechanic. They would also have to redo all the terrain and invisible walls they have set up. So in other words this would take a ton of time for developers and it’s something in sure they wouldn’t have time to do.
There really isn’t much more gold in HoT besides selling things on the TP. However that stuff will decrease in value dramatically in time. There’s no gold generating content really besides raids and it’s only 12g a week. That’s nothing compared to what dungeons were. So the market is going to deflate. And then maybe that 12g you get in raids will be alright.
You have to craft it. The mats to craft it are the cost people are referring to. There is also a time sink relating to it because some matts you can only craft once per day. Those can also be sold on the TP to get around the time gate. Just look it up on the wiki to get a better idea. Bolt of damask is one of the matts you craft and is time gated.
IAMANDLOVE-3095 is letting their personal biase from their past form his/her opinion on the matter. He/she refuses to see any of the “gray” area on this issue since it isn’t simply a black and white issue like many people are trying to make it out to be. It’s not a bug. It was for April fools. There is an item you can buy in the gem store that you place on the ground. Anyone can click the item and it makes this happen until they click it again. Or you can probably zone or something to disable the effect. I can see the transformation icon on you bar.
My slyvari do not say “may Lyssa confound you” however they say something about “(pet) come to my aide” when a slyvari ranger is playing with me in pvp and they used downed skill 3. I never play ranger but I also whistle sometimes randomly when a slyvari ranger switches their pet.
It’s been doing this for months. Mesmer mantras and certain ranger skills. It is racial tho from what I can tell. For instance it happens to me but only when I’m playing a human as far as “may Lyssa confound you”. When I play slyvari Mesmer I often get the ranger sayings in pvp. Especially whenever a slyvari ranger goes down and calls for their pet to heal them (downed 3).
Arena net please don’t add a damage meter, this will only create elitism! I really don’t want this game to turn into wow!
Let me give you an example, in world of Warcraft there are raids, and in every raid there are will be failiure the first try! After each failure people start whining and blame each other, and in the end the raid lead is forced by everyone to boot the lowest dps, lowest heal. In all honesty 1 wipe is ok and just to boot people for 1 failure is just stupid I don’t want this game to turn into wow thank you!
Guild War 2 have the best community and the friendliest players I don’t want that to change. In all honesty I don’t mind carrying a bad player no matter how difficult the content is thank you!

no! however that still have the potential to create elitism for example guilds forcing people to post their best dps!
This is a grey area. Every argument has a valid counter argument. You can’t come up with an arguement for or against that is “right”. People are trying here but it doesn’t work. Some people feel rather strongly about their arguement and then it starts going down hill as this type of thread goes on.
So either way isn’t right or wrong and anything that comes or does not come out of this is just something everyone will have to deal with. My personal take on this is to implement one at least on the individual level. Yes some groups might demand screen shots or something of your damage in a raid but that isn’t too much different than making you link gear which already happens a lot. That and if you don’t want to party up with elitists then don’t party up with them. Whether is screenshots or gear link its inevitable. And yeah I understand that elitism can be insidious and something like this could promote it. But personally I don’t have a problem with tho I know others would.
There aren’t GMs like this in gw2. The Anet staff that play have a special guild tag but that’s it. I don’t believe those characters they play have any special privileges besides a red tag. They have to develop their character on their own just like any other player.
Are you using the LFG? If you aren’t here is what is happening:
1) Everyone is zoning into the map.
2) several new shards or ip’s are being created for all the players zoning in. A new shard is created probably at about 50-70% max map compacity.
3) a lot of people are going for the meta event. To find a map that is actively pursuing the event you check LFG and join on that map.
4) Several shards are being maxed out and hard capped as they are advertising in the LFG. This leaves a bunch of shards “draining” because people realize the shard isn’t active enough or it isn’t a shard that’s in the LFG.
5) there’s a bunch of shards left that end up merging because most of the players in them moved to an active LFG shard and maxed that shard out.
It’s been bought up regularly about every month. But most people agree. The longest thread about it was about a year ago and some opposition came from people who were crafting like 5 great swords with the same stats and different sigils on each. But haven’t heard from those people in a long while. So yeah. Let’s just do this.
Yeah I think it’s just a bug. That’s just my opinion but makes the most sense to me. However it is a cool thing and if they would make similliar intended weapons like this in the future that would be pretty sweet.
It might be intended but you need multiple invisible mushroom spores. Getting one unlocks it for only one elite spec collection. It does it in alphabetical order. You can do the event daily to get more up to 4 times a day on all the maps. If you do the same treasure mushroom on the same map on the same day it won’t give you the side chest which has the mushroom spore in it.
It’s a companion. Basically a mount/npc that you can level up. His attack is through singing this song over and over. It melts your mind. He is kind of like a Mesmer that way. When he is in mount mode you just hop on and click where you want to go on the map, such as a hero point in tangled depths. And he simply goes into auto pilot and takes you there.
Since so many are so dead set against seeing any “swears”, I’ll stop using profanity when people can explain why profanity is bad.
So far nobody has ever been able to give me a good reason. It’s always “they just are!” and “iI’m offended because i was taught to be offended!”.
Think about it, and maybe you’ll realize profanity isn’t even worth discussing. Not talking about directed and targeted abuse here either, but the words themselves.
Profanity is bad because it’s against the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up to play in ANET’s playground. What you do in your own time is your business, and I honestly couldn’t care less if you communicate solely via a complex organization exclusively comprised of profanity. What you do in GW2 is ANET’s business.
I don’t understand this idea that words don’t have power. The words we use absolutely have power. In many ways, language shapes how we perceive the world. “The kitten mightier than the sword” is meaningful for a reason. If you even did a cursory study of linguistics, or even basic communication classes, you’d know that words have power.
I’m not saying that there aren’t instances where people are over-sensitive. I’m just saying that it’s wrong to perpetuate this idea that you can say whatever the kitten you want and it doesn’t effect people. It does. Own up to that.
I have to get to work but this is a good point. Words can have power. However in this situation they only have power if you let them. In real life if someone is trash taking you about how your son does drugs because you failed as a parent that is much different than someone trash talking you because you stomped them in pvp and you’re playin a “scrub” build. If anyone is seriously offended by people in pvp who really can only comment on how crappy their play style is, or how they aren’t contributing enough, etc. Things that relate to the game you don’t have to take that personally. If you are that’s your choice, but most people with a higher level of maturity or resilency won’t be bothered. You can’t really attack someone personally like my former example because you don’t know that person in real life. The only exception is a long time guild mate who you consider to be a friend and knows you on a more personal level doing something nasty and making it personal.
It’s why I’m so repulsed by PvP. You can read the other team’s messages and sometimes there are people that will just get aggressive and rude with you for no reasons.
I don’t ever want to play PvP because it makes me hate the game, and it’s annoying that the new legendaries require the tokens from PvP.

What I often feel just when I think of launching the game lately is disgust. Disgust, that I would have to be in an arena with people with the tendency to condescend to a level below that of a rat, honestly. It’s repulsive to even think of doing PVP.
I celebrated the first time someone sent me vitriol on PvP by posting it on my tumblr (I censored their name of course). It’s amazing what you can take when you laugh it off. I also like submitting to kittengw2playerssay.
See that’s great! That is exactly what I mean when I say you need to rise above it and not let others control your emotions like that. Because when you do they win.
Of course some people can’t help it, and are unable to “rise above” issues like this. In that case cognitive behavioral theory won’t really get you that far and you’re going to need some psychoanalytic theory to help you out.

OP you can’t control others behaviors. You can only control your own including your reaction to their behaviors. So block them and report to be done with it.
Wait I need to clarify this.. You can LET others control your behavior. For instance, someone in pvp makes you upset with their negativity. They make you so upset that your bothered enough to make a forum post about it.
Now if you did NOT LET them control your behaviors you simply would have blocked, reported, and moved on. But right now they have control over your emotions. Right now they are winning and getting exactly what they want because you’re letting them. This is why a lot of responses here are like “grow up, get over it, Ect.” Because to counter this type of negativity you have to rise above it and realize it isn’t worth getting upset over so you simply block report and move on.
