405 + 360/3 + ~1800 × 2 Heal from Shouts every 20s = 715 hps.
With healing surge: 9895/30 + 360/3 + 1800×2 every 20s = 639 hps.
Only 76hps less than your build. Tell me about how 76 less hps would suddendly make you weaker.Let alone that Surge can heal way more than Signet if poison is in the scheme.
Assuming you only Surge after removing poison, Healing signet comes off underpowered already.
If healing signet was to heal 329hps like surge, this complain would not change, proof being that math is not a problem here, but probably just paranoia in that people see “regen” as a better heal than burst heals, when in fact it is not. This thread is mathematically a pointless complaint.
You’re missing the point, but proving it in the same time.
It’s passive. Uninterruptible. It requires no skill from the player to use it properly.
So it’s easier than an active skill you have to trigger, yet it heals for higher, hps speaking. That’s exactly the problem.
Speaking about burst, it’s pointless. You shouldn’t win 1vs3 competent people, and against a single opponent, the burst is more avoided with dodges, endure pain/shield tricks than through pure healing.
(edited by Antares.2586)
405 + 360/3 + ~1800 × 2 Heal from Shouts every 20s = 715 hps with my build.
The idea is you can easily reach that level with the help fo HS.
Passive regen from the Signet is still the most of it.
Yeah, you’d just 1vs10 HS wars today and still won, I know. That does prove HS is not OP at all, for sure.
(edited by Antares.2586)
@ArtemisEntreri
That’s exactly the problem. With adrenal health, I can reach 700+ hps easily, and use some blocks or escapes to capitalize on that.
Sure it’s fun to play, at start, when you kill pepole. But as I realized some professions simply can’t dish out as much damage to pass my regen, the 1vs1 fights don’t seem fair to me anymore.
I’m not asking to nerf the warrior without other solutions, but this one is too easy to build / achieve, I think. Some regen on skill activation, for example, would be better than this.
Ok Antares that’s a fair point, so do you suggest thing we have access to be able to swap to 2 more weapon sets (like the ele has the ability to swap between 4 weapon sets essentially) and one of those weapon sets can be used for healing?
Or do you mean we get extra class unique skills like a guardian which assist with damage mitigation?
And no, you don’t play a warrior. You have a warrior because you wanted to see what they are about, you don’t play a warrior though.
Every anti-warrior that comes into here seems to mysteriously have a warrior so they know the exact ins and outs.
Sorry but I run a Charr warrior in McM, GS/Hammer sometimes GS/Mace+Axe, with healing signet, and melandru runes for condition removal.
Healing Signet passive is too strong as it is, it’s my opinion, even if you don’t like it.
On 1vs1 only some occasonnal zerk thieves can bring down the build, if I miss some dodges. Other than that, when suffering, I just escape through running with GS, regen a bit then come back to finish the poor guy.
You can try deny there is a problem, but the problem is still there.
Why people can’t try to be a little objective about their own profession a bit ?
(edited by Antares.2586)
I agree.
Passive regen is way too high on this one,
and demand zero skill from the player to use.
Divide the passive regen /2 should be a good start, along with raising the active Healing a bit.
And I play Warrior, too. It just seems too strong to me as it is.
I would like to thanks Dev for that :
Zeal VII – Zealous Blade. This trait now scales with Healing power (2%.)
I’ve asked with several people that VII would scale with Healing, even a bit, to open up new build, less relying on AH.
I see Devs are watching and listening to the community feedback
So Kudos and thank you, and keep up the good work !
There is a need for scalable (10 to 20, for example) man raids in this game.
For the moment, you have to choose between Zerging or grouping a 5 man team.
It’s all or nothing.
But what about a scalable event made like this :
An approach of the surrounding of the tower in PvE. Open world, zerging would be possible.
Then you would have to build a 10-20 man team entering the tower, which would be an instanced battlefield.
Finally, the upper and final levels would be a dungeon, designed for 5 mans group.
What about this ?
When I saw the male preview, I prepared 800 gems to buy it for my female Norn guardian.
Very disappointed by the female version, it’s really subpar.
It doesn’t seem to belong to the same set, that’s weird.
Any chance to have a Phalanx II modelled, for the female version ?
Why didn’t they implemented it like the Primeval armor, which is basically the same design for male / female ? More costs for Anet on the phalanx one, and finally less cash for them :S
I’ll gladly pay the gems if it would be revamped.

Hi there,
When coming out of RTL, sometimes my character is stuck, whereas I was pushing him forward. I have to stop the move, then reapply the command to be able to run again.
Very dangerous behavior when you try to outrun people in McM ’^^.
Thank for checking it.
Agreed.
A 60s second CD should be fine, and not OP at all.
PvE :
1: Roleplaying
2: Guild Halls
3: Living World / Less frequent but bigger, permanent updates to the world
McM :
1: Bigger group (Team up to handle 4 groups in the same chat, and view players location in a color, for example)
2: Anti-zerg gameplay and tools
3: Profession Balance

Celestial. Burning damage is cooler than you may think, especially in WvW, plus the resistance and vitality.
Zerker is overrated. Yes, it’s faster for dungeon runs, for now.
But seeing Twilight P4 design, dodging may not be sufficient in the future, to survive the content.
And when you can’t crit an object, you will cry as 2/3 of your stats are wasted.
(edited by Antares.2586)
Now Zhaitan is dead, the Pact has achieved something, but I can’t imagine it staying eternal and kill alls dragons easily.
War between nations and races could help to bring a darker tone to GW2, and would make players feel more involved, as each race would defend its point of view.
As the Pact take immense ressources to stay as one, problems could rise between nations, and make the entire thing a bit more complicated.
What do you think ?
Yep, for WvW players it’s a problem, I confirm :/
Hi Fortus,
Here is what I use :
Weapons : GS / Scepter & Torch.
Traits : Two hand mastery, to maximise GS Leap usage, and dps via Whirling Wrath.
Skills : Retreat & SY
Runes : of the Pack
Use GS Leaps and shouts, with runes of the Pack to get near perma swiftness.
When foe starts to run, immo with scepter 3, then use 4 to start burning when near him.
He runs again, throw Zealot’s Fire, leap to 600, Binding Blade to 600 then pull, and finish him.
Also Retreat is often overlooked, but another on-demand Aegis is VERY useful, when you time it well.

Hi Anet armor designers,
Please consider adding more diadems that let hairs visible, even for heavy armor.
Like Icelord Diadem, or attached pic.
Kind regards and thank you for your hard work.
(edited by Antares.2586)
Guardian changes are welcome, may I suggest a little boost and scalable heal on Zealous Blade ? Just a few points, as investing in healing does not seem to make any difference.
Ascended is supposed to be the mid step between Exotic and Legendary, and people would like to reach it in one day…
Can people enjoy content without burning it in one hour ?
You are destroying your own experience by rushing it.
Nothing force you to build it in one week.
Nothing force you to equip all your chars with Asc.
A very wise move from anet on this one.
You’re not forced to craft, as you can loot them also.
Yes, it will be difficult. Like crafting one.
More difficult than grinding 200 gold.
I see it in as an effort to focus on playing the game instead of playing the tp /
brute farming.
I actually enjoyed building my own celestial armor, instead of buying one on the tp.
It has special value for me.
If only people could let down their fast food service expectations for everything in life…
Guild Halls.
And 8 man raids like Fissure of Woe / Underworld zones.
Basically : Ability to group as a Guild Team, with members visible on the map, up to maybe 20 people.
For making groups not Zerg based, but Guild based, for PvE and WvW.
I really hope GW2 authors and writers don’t want to continue the disney-like entertainment in the future.
The game needs more depth and more soul.
It still have the potential to achieve that.
Actually group experience is mainly based on 5 man groups, or the anonymous Zerg.
There is no in-between.
5 man dungeon are fine, but often let some people behind in the guild, it’s just sad you know.
Guild missions are a step in the right direction, but are very short, and the content is pretty limited.
Please consider implementing something like Guild Raids, aimed at 10/20 people guild party.
2 / 3 hours of playable zones, with a real challenge, like the Underworld or Fissure of Woe were in GW1.
There is a real feeling in my guild, that something is missing to ‘cement’ guild members together…
This is a very important matter. Anet should focus on.
Content playable with your friends / guildies.
It’s the cement that can help make guilds stay on this game.
Not only 15 min. Missions. 2 / 3 hours long content, like Underworld / Fissure of Woe, aimed at 10 ~ 20 people.
I run full Celestial armor and trinkets, except for rings,
where I use instead Cirque of Arah / Band of the Brotherhood to compensate the lack of Precision.
What I like the most is my build is less one dimensional than before, especially in WvW.
It still packs some punch (3K+ power, 50% critical, 75% crit damage), but can be efficient with some burning damage , and healing as well.
(edited by Antares.2586)
The Lancer : A new heavy armored class that can use polearms (Trident, Lance) in ground melee.
Mid range (600) attacks from melee, for a unique gameplay !
(edited by Antares.2586)
Another way : Waypoints discovery.
Equip skills that give swiftness and blocks, and run between waypoints.
Plus you will be happy to have all waypoints available when you reach 80.
And what about a mixed approach ?
Helm, Mantle, Pants in Knight / Shoulders, Gloves, Boots in Celestial, for example ?
Well Guardians could benefit from it because you may want to improve damage through Power, Crit %, but also Condition damage for burning.
In the same time, Guardian have naturally low health, and benefit from healing power as well. Celestial does help in those domains.
The set in probably subpar than berzerker for speedy dungeon runs.
But for WvW, it could be different, on paper a zerker guardian will be more fragile to a celestial one. Only real testing could prove that, of course.
PvE is questionnable. You lose a bit power, but you gain magic find included for free.
Still I can see Celestial armor + Zerker jewels becoming a popular choice among Guardian population.
Hi folks,
Do you know if Anet has any plan to release those beautiful skins to players ?
Regards.
Hi there,
What is the maxime time available in an Arena ?
Is it possible to set up to ‘No Time Limit’ ?
Thank you.
It’s probably the game deepest flaw, in my opinion (but I’m loving the game mechanisms and world)
Lack of depth in story and characters, too much of a theme park feeling.
The world needs more conspiracy between nations, wars, betrayals…
Who knows, the Pact could explode in the future ?
But Aetherblades and Marjory’s story are a step in the right direction.
And the game is also too easy in PvE.
We need some very difficults hl areas like Underworld and Woe in gw1, to be completed with guildies.
It would be nice to see them make a come back in this game.
(edited by Antares.2586)
The new scepter + Torch 4, with a mid-battle Wall of Reflection can lead to a surprising spike in WvW.
There is definitely a problem about those RNG chests.
I never bought a single one, but I know some people who are digusted by the game because of that.
IMO, RNG chest in loot should coexist with a ticket buyable on the gem store.
Otherwise people feel robbed by the game.
Thus, it’s possible that most ‘pirates’ in Lion’s Arch were actually the Lion’s Arch navy in fighting against Zhaitan, and they’ve just been using the term for tradition – while the truly criminal pirates have been pushed onto land and are effectively bandits with a liking for maritime themes, traditions and hideouts rather than true pirates.
This is also our opinion about it. It seems the most logical.
Thanks for sharing.
It seems ‘Pirate’ is a world lightly used in Lion Arch context, since a Captain suspected in the story today, claims she is a respectable citizen, then Marjory tells her she’s a lucky Pirate.
I’m a bit afraid sometimes Piracy is viewed a bit like through a kind of disneyland theme park prism .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piracy
First sentence : “Piracy is typically an act of robbery or criminal violence at sea”
An official comment from Anet on Pirates status in Arch would be much appreciated.
My Guild just want to know if it’s ok to commit crimes and robbery at sea, then come and shake Magnus’ hand (Lion guard head) in Lion Arch, if the Council is well aware of your doings.
Knowing that clearly would unlock roleplay situations we are facing currently, between merchants and so-called city pirates.
Thank you.

Hi there,
Intel i5 / Nvidia GTX 280 here.
Since 17/06 updates, the game freezes with video artifacts, in McM and World Map, even with minimal quality settings.
No change were made on machine except GW2 updates.
Other games and 3d benchmarks are still running fine.
(edited by Antares.2586)
Players has to understand nothing force you to do anything in GW2.
You have to build yourself your own objectives. This is your endgame.
Want to build a legendary ? Go for it, but don’t blame Anet for the grind.
Want to rock in WvW ? Train yourself, and don’t blame Anet that you’re getting facerolled by whatever so-called OP build/profession.
Want to just to have fun with teammates in open world ? Do it, playing the puzzle jumps, play the guild mission, and the most difficult PvE events. Yes, there is some.
Want to rock in Dungeons ? Get the Dungeon Master title, then help newbies to pass them, and get a lot of thanks in the process.
Want to rock in Crafting ? Get every crafting profession, then collect every possible receipts in the game. There are some profitable.
One has always to option to whine, or choose to act instead.
Excellent weapon suggestion !
Hi there, just a little spelling error, probably the “Malestrom” should be fixed to “Maelstrom” or “Maelström”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Malestrom
I’m a big fan of Poe short story :http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Tales_(Poe)/A_Descent_into_the_Maelstr%C3%B6m
Playing a sea captain in roleplay, I’m loving this trident skin, and I hope the name could be fixed.
Thank you !
Thank you for your feedback.
@Dustfinger
Yes, Privateers, like the official wiki wording about the Council, was more logicial to us. It’s the ‘Pirate’ mention the Council characters make in the latest patch, that bring some confusion.
@draxynnic
I think this is our understanding too. ‘Privateers’, recognizing LA authories & structure, could have been a better word, to help drawing a line between them and Pirates.
(edited by Antares.2586)
Hi there ArenaNet team,
We are a small roleplay Guild playing mainly in this city, and we would like to get a precision on the Pirates status in the Lion’s Arch.
To put it simply, we have based our guild roleplay on merchants, and sea captains.
The main problem we have, regarding the Lore, is to know whether or not the city officials supports Piratery.
To be frank, we though it wasn’t really the case, for us the Council mentioning Pirates was more a kind of a reference to its roots and history, since now Lion’s Arch became more of a merchant city.
Pirates of course, do still exist within the city, mainly located near the Hooligan’s route. But this is not the same to say that the Council would officially support them.
But since the Dragon bash event, the Captain Council on the Plazza mention the “Pirate” word a lot, so it’s a bit confusing, we have to admit.
The paradox here is Magnus’ Lion’s Guard is well accepted within other nations territory, as some of its strongholds are spread across Tyria.
If Pirates from the Lion’s Arch attack ships in the Sea of Sorrows (because that’s what Pirates usually do to feed and live), why then other nations are not at war with the City State ?
So our questions are :
Is Piratery tolerated, supported by the Lion Guard and the Captain Council, or do they mention it only as a reference to the city past ?
Should Pirates be quiet and discreet about their real activity in the city,
or can they speak about it in the front of a Lion guard ?
The debate is open, but we would like to get an official response on this matter, if possible.
Thank you for your hard work on GW2.

Here some positive suggestions to get out of this impasse :
1/ Make Settlers armor pieces cost 1G + 120 Karka Shells, for example.
Goal : a better deal for those who accumulated Shells during the events,
help purge the market from 100K unwanted shells…
2/ Make Settlers armor use the already existing Tribal skin.
Goal : As said before, fit the Island theme perfectly, making Settlers armor more attractive and rewardful for those who don’t have an interest in Settlers stats. With no supplementary armor design costs for Anet.
3/ Propose a Consortium Swimsuits in the Gem Store.
The models already exist, for most race/gender, as seen on the Pearl Island.
Goal : Make people rejoice, being able to wear the same suit as NPCs, and make new income for Anet.
All those suggestions come with a minimal cost for Arena.
If we keep this thread in a positive tone, perhaps we will be listened.
Remember, Consortium Sickle story demonstrates Arena is very capable of listening to the GW2 community.
(edited by Antares.2586)
“Four settlements (Point Pride, Kiel’s Outpost, Steampipe Steading, and Camp Karka) are integral parts of trade on the island. If all four camps are held by the players, a special merchant will appear on Pearl Islet to exchange armor for karka shells”.
I don’t know for Passion Flowers, but Karka Shells could rise a bit, especially after the end of the Southsun event.
Young karkas respawn rate has been nerfed in the bay.
When Consortium boxes don’t drop anymore, I think price is going to raise…
I would say keep your shells, for the moment.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/37897
The price is not going back to its lowest level, whereas supply is still there,
which indicates there is a demand for those, probably linked to the next patch,
with the armor selling guy coming…
(edited by Antares.2586)
Actually, I appreciate a lot dungeon gameplay in this game.
It’s not static. You have to adapt in combat.
Some people are going to say it’s chaotic, but it’s not.
First : Get a good guild. Get a good group of team players.
When you will have a leader on TS/Mumble, calling target,
and having a Guardian who protect your group with Shouts or Consecrations,
a Warrior that ouput a lot of damage in Melee range,
a water Elementalist who heals your group, a condition Engineer who can stack all possible ones on bosses… you will begin to appreciate dungeon mechanics in this game.
It’s only an example, every profession can shine in dungeon, if built properly.
None are dedicated to fill just one role.
Don’t listen to the whine on the forum. Think, and build YOUR strategy with your team.
GW2 delivers an “out of the box thinking” way to enjoy its content.
But it’s not because the game doesn’t force you in a particular gameplay, that you can’t build a good group tactic.
Good luck.
My main gripe with GW2 is the fact that everything you do is for gear.
What kept me playing GW1 for so long was the fact that everything you did was for skills.
That. I realize you had to collect & learn Skills, in GW1.
Getting an Elite was fun.
Could be a good thing to see this in GW2 as well.
(D/D only)
1. Freedom feeling
2. With some skills, can shine in pve and pvp as well.
3. Disruptive gameplay : No need to target, always moving through the battlefield.
4. Jack of trades : can damage, heal, move at the same time
5. Playing with all four elements
