Frankly, I am tired of map chat and I gave up on turning my status to “blue” a long time ago.
MMOs should be social or at least have more mechanics to permit socializing and this builds community. I suggest they implement a LFG system soon for dungeons especially to combat constant group incompatibility and an easier way to gain members for a 5-man party (or however many you prefer).
Not only that but I think there should be easier ways to find people and talk to them on a map. I appreciate that in WvW you can actually see green dots so you know where people are, why not put it in PvE? In addition, why not have some kind of option to view a long thread of requests from players in the map area who need help or company. Map chat is used for the most outspoken and usually trolls or sarcastic people—given…there are quite a few that are very helpful in map chat or respond appropriately and some people are pretty hilarious, but I think we need more versatility in niches, apart from guilds. Guilds are awesome, but I feel like it would be nice to build a better environment for circles of friends or certain friend groups. I for one hate having to whisper to different people to get their attention—having a system which allows you to chat multiple people at once (privately) would be great.
Suggestions
- Get that LFG system out soon
- Make areas which are meant to be sociable or encourages interaction between people, DEs aren’t good enough
- Request system per map for people who need help/company
- Custom whispers with multiple people
Isn’t this the case with all MMO games?
Like I wrote in the OP, sadly, yes it is …. :/
Not with Dragon’s Nest.
EDIT: As a guy who enjoys most fighting games, I’d like juggling to be introduced.

If you are already aware of these, sweet. Feel free to pass it on.
Unless, someone posts before then, will test it later today :O
Can you combine a type of lesser, more common lodestones into the expensive ones (no idea really, havent looked into those recipes too much)? If not mybe that would be the idea, make a common lodestone fragment that drops more often but you need to combine up 100 to make a full lodestone. That way at least you feel some progress from farming.
They are called cores usually, and there is a recipe. But they drop rarely too.
T6 Mats directly, ancient bones, crystalline dust, and most of them can be found via cursed shore enemies—and you get some t5 along the way.
Yeah, I thought a legendary was bad at first…so I was gunning for Mjolnir—350 charged lodestones….gg
Do the lower tier skins also glow at night or only the lvl 80 exotic ones?
The lower tier skins aren’t the same skin as the lvl80 exotics ones, so they do not glow.
The official response was in a thread about the drop rate of precursors for legendaries. But MF only affects the loot generated by killing a monster. It does not affect the loot generated by chests when you open them nor does it affect loots bags when you open them. It also does not affect the Mystic Toilet or salvaging. You can probably find the answer Lindsey gave in the Crafting section.
However, I wonder if your healing power helps on how fast you regenerate health with the methods I mentioned.
No, it does not, as far I’ve experienced, only revive, and your own downed state moves can heal you.
Find a guild or a random group that seems nice and tackle it together. (I love helping people if you want to PM me). But best way is to get a dungeon veteran willing to help you out and teach you the best way to tackle the dungeon. You can also read online guides, watch youtube videos, or just do a trial and error. But having 5 people helps a lot. For 3 people, I’ve only heard of AC with the hodgins path being do-able for a small group, but there may be others.
Actually, as a former guild leader and having guild leader experience since eq1 was released, and having many many guild leader friends, there is nothing petty about reporting people belonging to a certain guild to their leader. I myself have had people in my own guilds that were reported to me from other players. I’ve never once (nor any guild leader I’ve ever known personally) been rude or confrontational with anyone having a problem with any of my members ever. I’m sure it’s not unheard of.
Well with the very limited information we have in this post, it’s petty. All the guy says is that some random players dragged enemies to him. I do it all the time when I’m traveling from one place to another and not bothering to kill enemies on the way.
Granted I attempt to avoid others, but sometimes I’m not paying attention. Other times it’s enemies resetting to their “home” position after I have dragged them all. Most notably the wolves when traveling from Starry to Slough waypoints to gather orichalcum in Frostgorge. There’s a good 20 wolves in that one passage and I just sprint past them. If someone follows behind and stops to fight, they will end up with the 20 wolves following me on their head shortly. I’m sure I’ve dropped on others just as often as people have dropped on me.
I don’t go seeking out the guys guild leader and complain enough that the entire guild drops whatever they are doing to retaliate against the complaint. Something doesn’t jive here. There is most certainly something being left out of the equation.
People play the game for enjoyment and to get away from their crappy hum drum lives. If someone were making it a point to make someone else’s playtime suck, I wouldn’t deem the person being messed with petty for complaining about it.
I deem it petty based on the distinct lack of information. Especially on the forums. It’s his side of the story. Most assuredly it’s exaggerated and definitely not all the information.
Regardless of his side of the story or not; it doesn’t matter. He’s just reminding people about game ethics. He is not calling the guild/random people/ or whoever it may be out—That would be a hatepost and we would need more info in that regard. In this kind of post, whether it’s true or not, it’s always good to encourage player etiquette. Quit being so suspicious about something that doesn’t even matter. So what if it happened or not?
EDIT: As a starter for you, when someone is generally concerned about something and is by all means doing his best to not rage like most people do in forums, it’s bad etiquette to just call it petty regardless if you think it is or not. Just don’t say anything at all.
(edited by ArcTheFallen.7682)
Well, I never said it didn’t count nor am I discrediting any forms of mini-games. I just would like to see more casual things we can do. :O
I’d like that! And…..if they could show our hair with certain head pieces. Just totally cutting off the hair when I wear a hat is kind of bothersome :\
So, let’s buy a game…and want to change it dramaticially? It’s like reading a manga or a book and wanting to re-write parts. I understand your ideas, but you should probably do a fan-fiction game design on it instead of using the suggestion forums. Not very viable.
I believe the level requirement for story modes is very mis-leading, along with explorable modes. I think think they should inform people better on what it really takes to do a dungeon—having all your traits and top gear. This makes dungeons a lot more doable and saves yourself from all those wipes because most people think being lvl35 is all you need—sometimes it is, but it’s not the best idea. I can’t agree with you to making it easier, but I will offer my help to guide you or just add more muscle to your party. I do AC, CM, TA, and COF. But prefer AC the most. PM me in game if you ever need help.
Yeah, it’s hard to find people to do these events, sometimes you just gotta hope they show up. But it helps if there are more than 1 person trying to pub the event. I was fortunate enough to be in a group that pulled it off. Half of the people who were with us lay there dead though, which was pretty annoying. Even the commander who gathered us stopped running back because it didn’t seem like we’d pull it off. But we did, with only 10 seconds left. It was the best feeling ever.
Just rocked a mesmer due to our superior meta game.
Great job! You should put some ads up to get some profit cause you def. deserve a tip for helping us dungeon lovers out.
Not sure why people are complaining about skipping stuff here. Have you guys honestly never ran past mobs to catch a skill point / way point or w/e in Orr?
Don’t answer. I’m 100% sure everyone in this game has. But then again people tend to become hypocrites when people accomplish something they are not capable / willing to accomplish themselves.
To OP: Nice work. It has been done multiple times (and faster) before, but I agree, with the current state of dungeons it’s much more exciting to reduce your party size and try to shoot for some good times, just like what people did in GW1.
LOL. you act like this game is difficult. There are a number of dungeons out there that would be far more credible to do than AC. This dungeon has been SOLO’d for christs sake. It is not that difficult, and 2 manning it is extremely easy. Its just losing its credibility when you skip parts of the dungeon. Like the LT Kholer.
The reason you will never see our guild 2 man this is because A: Its way more fun with more people, and B, it goes by extremely faster. If 2 people can zerg it like this, imagine if you have 5 of them, how much faster it would be. You act like they actually accomplished something monumental.
Eh…the OP did not say “Omg, I’m so gosu clearing this dungeon with only 2 ppl—-FIRST EVER. IN YO FACES pugs”, he just wanted to share his achievement. It’s a good achievement. If track runner comes up to me and tells me they scored a faster time than their previous runs, I’m gonna give them a pat on the back. It’s kind of rude to just shoot them down.
P.s. Your guardian build sucks.
low blow man
Seconded. But do agree with Gab’s other points. Just don’t bring yourself down to a troll’s level, it doesn’t make you seem much better. What you did was great, good job! Let’s keep it at that. People who state opinions that are negative should just be looked over, you know what you did, and people acknowledged that.
applauds
Shield of absorption actually blocks things—as intended.
But you’re still stacking.
I need clarification from ANet on this, because it’s unfair to allow stacking for identical runes, and not separate ones.
Yes it’s stacking, but it increases the speed at which you max out the stack. It doesn’t not give you double the power. So it’s technically not “stacking” in terms of power. It’s not unfair, it makes sense. You can stack two runes together to make it faster BUT you cannot stack two same runes to increase the MAX of 25 to 50 or two different runes to get two separate effects. Stacking here just means for every kill, you get two stacks instead of one, UP to 25.
Special ability of Judge’s Intervention: Intentionally puts you in environment objects when you need to kill mobs around you. Does not want you to get credit for said Dynamic Event and forces you to waypoint back costing silver. Needs to be nerfed.
One tip. For most guardians, the sole foundation of our healing should come from Altruistic Healing, since we give boons pretty much with everything.
We got a lunatic courtier in here
Ha! Right… Watch the forums explode if there are capes for humans and not for Charr.
Unless they can come up with a good looking cape for all of the races they’re not likely to put one in the game no matter how many suggestion threads pop up. I was just repeating the reasons that I have seen that they don’t already exist.
Highly doubt it’s a cosmetic issue. Probably an implementation issue. If they did really say that I would like to see a quote. But I don’t see why—given that the game already offers so many exclusive things per race, class, and order—that they’d not implement a cosmetic feature due to it’s inability to work for other races. Also, I cannot imagine why a cape wouldn’t look good on norns and charrs. But I can understand how much harder it would be to program capes for charrs given their figures.
It’s not a game anymore when it gets too real. Imo, I think it’s boring a limiting if you can’t adjust jumps in mid-air. And realism != best game always. I understand your point, but there are far more ridiculous things to address if you want to start a jumping. I don’t see how it would make the game feel better at all.
From my experience, most 0-400 that I’ve done including weaponsmithing requires around 30-40g if you buy everything. Do not be lazy and just craft one thing to level up, craft various things to lead to another so you can do “discovery” and get a lot more crafting xp. If you do everything except discovery, you’ll go as far as probably 350 and you need to go back, remake sword hilts and etc and inscriptions that go with them which will be a heavy gold sink if you didn’t keep what you made from the start / make various things.
Tips:
-Turn logs into planks.
-Use those planks to make weapons parts equal to the # of inscriptions.
-Check the prices of mats to make inscriptions. If they exceed the price of the inscriptions themselves, then just buy the inscriptions instead of making them. (Generally inscriptions tend to be cheaper bought straight up because people have surpluses and put them on the tp)
- At each tier of crafting, discover all the weapon types and don’t forget about the 2nd set of inscriptions for each tier. (Not sure if there is one for the first tier) but usually there is a inscription and then a plated inscription to go along with it.
Hope that helps!
EDIT: Invest in a crafting booster! If you are decently fast and chug away crafting for an hour, the booster should cover you for the 0-400 trip.
I wasn’t aware there was a jumping puzzle in the Eternal Battlegrounds. Also, I have definitely only gotten 3 badges from the Borderlands on occasion. Where is the puzzle located in the Eternal Battlegrounds?
It might be your level, but if you are 80 then that’s weird O_o and needs to be updated on the wiki then. The puzzle is located in each of the keeps in EB, there’s 3. If you own one, take a close look on the map and look for a (its hard to see at first) white circle that looks like it’s glowing in the keep. Go to that and it’s a portal that leads you to the puzzle.
Get some 15% extra karma for 24 hours too—but yes it does stack.
I’d look into crafting on the gw2 wiki. Most of the discovery recipes are on there~ Not sure what level they are tho ><
Just like in title. It is so unnecessary and kinda lame, big fight is going on and I am lying down on a ground either throwing stones or any stuff like that or raising my hand till I will be able to get up. I mean, seriously? Downstate crushes balance, it prevents good people from killing 2 even the biggest newbs in spvp at once. I am not saying I am good, I am still new, I can burst tho and kite quite well today I kited 2 guardians for 5 minutes. It was a 2v1 game and I killied one but he got rallied, than I killied another one, same thing. It is so broken its not even fun. I can’t imagine even the best player atm killing me and some random newb that will just auto attack, why? Because I can rally him so easy. I know it is against the casuality of the game, and I know it is hard to destroy your own work. But I have also read that ANet wants this game to be an e-sport, I also read that they think it feels epic not to get killied but to lay down a while and than get back to fight. No its not. I am sorry to say this, because I had high hopes for the game but atm MAINLY because of downstate I am just going to complete map and pvp in WoW or LoL. I am pretty disappointed because I bought the game to pvp and aimed to be good at it. I was like “I will get used to it”, but I won’t. And I am sure many players share my thoughts, if you do so (or not) write here, lets get ANet attention around this. They need to add more maps for pvp, more modes not just conquest, they need to balance the classes and the game itself, there is much work to do, but first of all downstate has to be removed.
No. Downed state is fine.
The problem is with YOU. You are a terrible player.
This. I wouldn’t say terrible though, probably ignorant to adapting.
I’d like that for sPvP and PvE—but for PvE maybe allowing you to choose a template upon refunding traits.
1) I have no idea…
2) Only note on magic find is it only affects the loot generated by killing creatures. I find the rarity of “rares” odd too given the fact that dungeoning or crafting can easily produce exotics. You would think a good amount of farming could yeild better result :\
3) Bump +1
4) Best thing to do right now although I support any new mechanics Anet can provide—memorize spawning locations. You can actually hit most of the monsters once, maybe even twice before they render on your computer. AoEs help a lot and that’s why people just spam them early. It’s annoying I know, and some classes with bad AoEs have it hard. This has to be looked at.
It’s not about “devaluing legendaries”, it’s about making their acquisition fun (and “fun” is one of Anet’s master words) and an integral part of how the game was designed.
Anet basically said play as you want, you don’t need to grind. Well, sure you don’t ‘need’ to have a legendary and so you don’t ‘need’ to grind. But why have they even designed legendaries to be about grinding in the first place ? It feels like a bit of an afterthought with a somewhat lazy implementation when your quest for a legendary could have been an epic adventure. Using all the fun elements already existing in the game so that all this acquisition process feels like a reward in itself. And when you finally have your legendary, or even if you don’t have it, you can be proud of all what you’ve done and you have an epic story to tell to your friends. Rather than ‘I spent 3 months farming Straits of Devastation with a zerg…’
It’s not about making legendaries easier or harder to acquire, it’s about making them an integrant part of the game an making them fun, which is Anet’s philosophy.
Do all the other things in this game that’s fun and forget about the legendary until maybe months from now and wallah, you probably have most of the things and money you need to get prereqs for a legendary. Anet gave us the options to make this game fun for ourselves. They do not need to cater epic quests just for a legendary. You can either choose to dedicate yourself to getting the requirements for a legendary which includes major gold sinks or you can just play the game, have fun, and get it whenever. I doubt the longer you play, the less gold you’ll make. It should be a lifetime quest, but people who farm get it faster but just because they have doesn’t mean YOU need it right now; at this very moment. Take your time and if it happens it happens.
(edited by ArcTheFallen.7682)
I think the reason is because it activates at the end of the elite. So if your elite takes about 2-3 seconds, that could affect it activating on the next use. Just get like a 5 second breather before using it again and I think you should be fine.
Well, if you want to continue using it, the only thing I could suggest is check which ports it’s using. If ports conflict, it could cause the game to not load. Other than that, I guess troubleshoot. Good luck though~
Uh…as a techy, unless many things are going on in your system at once, optimization programs should work as a one-time thing. It optimizes your computer, and done. Unless that program tampers with caching/memory allocation/cpu allocation, I doubt it’s needed to play the game. But even so, it can all be done manually or with any other program before opening the client. It shouldn’t need to run in the background.
Totally off topic-but can thieves execute/do a finisher under stealth? If so, I think doing one should unveil you.
Eh…the event was fun. I’m sorry you missed out on it, but it really didn’t do anything except, get items that do not really benefit us stat-wise or unless you are into halloween themes; cosmetically either. But I don’t see why other people cannot have fun? It just seems like you do not want Time Square to have a Christmas Celebration because you have a job that requires you to be on the clock during those times. These one time events are for people who can make it to just have fun and have a great time. What has it really doneeee to hurt you? And I believe most players did get to witness this event and really did enjoy it. They’ll be catering more special events for different holidays it seems like so you will probably have the chance to get in on those? Hope work doesn’t keep you too busy around then. Also, one-time events are meant to be exciting and definitely make the game more dynamic. One of the reasons I like MMOs as opposed to console story games is its ability to change with updates and the events it holds.
When I’m on DR or do not feel like pvping, farming, etc. I just want to chill around town. I know we have jump puzzles and diving boards, but it’d be awesome to have more mini-games around the place! Wouldn’t mind having a mash button fest against other people for a drinking contest or maybe a trebuchet accuracy contest. Can’t really think of great ideas because I’m not a game designer, but something to kill time in game outside my armor would be nice. Then I’d actually would have a use for my town clothes to do these more casual activities.
4-6. It’s random.
Heh, I shouldn’t be saying this as an Sanctum of Rall native, but we have an amazing community—but we hate transfers because we’ve had a lot of guilds come in due to our success rate in WvW. We always put up a great fight or dominate. But anyways, we do not accept transfer guilds haha but if you hide it, no one will know where you were originally from anyways.
Aw man, I thought we were gonna talk about how to kill those legendary defenders in WvW XD but that seems like a very well done build! What’s the damage output on say…a gs though? jw
I keep seeing the same arguments over & over. Anyone who opposes current design philosophy is a entitled child? You realize that many of the players who currently have legendaries bought their precursor off the TP for like……5-10g right? Now players are having to spend anywhere from 300-500g for one & that they want precursors “handed to them”. I’m sorry but how exactly are these players entitled when they have to pay 30 TIMES what you had to pay? The above poster is a prime example. Your motives couldn’t be more obvious.
Early bird gets the worm. More time = more information. More information = more ways to make money. More money inflow = higher prices because people can afford them. It’s not a beta tester’s fault or early player’s fault who took future steps into consideration before you did. Quit being jealous on what others got and you didn’t. They shouldn’t get punished for the market. Just like people who buy stocks early not knowing that the business would sky rocket and make them millionaires. Should the people blame them for making money off of that? Imho, I don’t think so, but people still do. And I feel like most of the complainers here are those people. And by all means what I’m reading is mostly jealous people who want the precursor to be handed to them when in reality it’s there and it’s attainable. All the time you have spent complaining in these forums could be spent making gold in the game to get the precursor. There is a definite way and ANET TOLD US the only thing we would need to know: “They will keep a watch on the precursor prices.” If the price of the precursor goes out of range of attainable by their standards, they will intervene. Make your money, and play the catch up game. The prices are not skyrocketing 100g per week. With HARD work and smart methods, you can catch up to the current precursor prices, because gold making far exceeds the growth rate of the precursors. Go learn some money making methods. Quit blaming early birds who bought it cheap, quit blaming exploiters, quit blaming Anet. And the people who tell me “Oh even if I had a legendary, I’d still want the system to change” speak nonsense because the system is solid for their intentions. And items do not define the player. Just because someone has a legendary doesn’t mean they are better than you or deserve it more, quit seeing it that way. It’s like saying “Man, I deserve more money than my boss because I work harder and he sits in a desk all day” or “He knew rich people to begin with, that cheater! He has it so easy, he needs to be reborn into a poor family for it to be fair to all of us!” Right. Let’s revoke everyone because you are jealous and do not want to make an effort to do things for yourself. It’s fair; because everyday I check the tp, there’s a legendary there to be bought with gold you can earn. The only thing unfair would be if no one ever got a legendary and it was not available to be bought—or if people put it at ridiculous prices; but you’d need buyers for that to work otherwise it’d go down. And Anet told us they’d watch.
Patience.

Hello
Confirmed Venom drop from risen acolyte. it’s not worth so much, but still…
I had 50% pirate set + 40% omnomnom berries.Doesn’t confirm nothing. Other players dropped one too. You just was an uber extremely lucky guy.
It’s pretty clear to everyone who is laughing on this thread asking to leave the system to stay the same, RNG blablah, legendary are not for everyone are CLEARLY cheaters who got their weapon abusing of it during the exploit days, using a lv65 gold mixed with 80.
Which is kind of pathetic, and i hope Anet will fix this loottable with a WAY more rewarding system and WAY more precursors around. Precursor doesn’t means legendary for free all around. Precursor is just 1% of the final work needed to craft your weapon.
It’s actually 25%. btdubs
sanctum of rall just finished, balth is open
Go to Cursed Shores and do any of the many events going on, preferably in a group. Also use karma boosters if you have them.
This. Plinx in particular is a fantastic source of karma (5 event chain). Also, do your daily achievement. It will give you another 4500 karma daily.
Make sure to get karma boosters! Having a karma booster active while taking the jug of karma for 4500 will x1.5 it. If you don’t have money for karma boosters, save your jugs until you can get a least one and then chug it all away~ But since you aren’t that far from your goal, doing plinx for a day will get you there.
