IMO, this is a terrible idea. Not because you’re attempting to address a big issue, but rather that the so called compromise highlights the flaws of your system design and the fact that any attempted fix is just shifting the burden from one group to another rather then eliminating that burden in the first place.

No, I get it now. HOPE GvG’ed [CERN] then [VK] did. When someone says wow we got zerged by VK after GvG’ed with [HOPE], you can see how that fits both interpretations. So, yeah this is completely my misunderstanding here. My apologies.

Ummm sorry? CERN did GvG HOPE two weeks ago, three rounds of 15v15. CERN won one match, HOPE won two, (2-1). It was for fun and nothing that serious (hence neither side gloated about winning) and HOPE didn’t use any type of group compositions, we just through together what we had. Check your facts.

I just honestly don’t believe this about TC. KN has some good guilds and have provided some good GvG’s. TC barely GvG’s. The few times they have it has gone very poorly. These are times when numbers are even. You can’t hide behind walls or show up with twice the numbers and brag about steam rolling a few guys. It’s about who’s “better” because the baddies die. If you are genuinely curious and believe a certain group is “competent”, then put it to the test.

Usual excuse is usual excuse. Easy reply is unless you can code something for me I can’t fit 20 people per side in sPvP. If you want to claim you’re guild is good at combat then we have a wide open field to test that theory. As of now, I haven’t seen anything impressive from TC.

Edit to add – My point isn’t to reflect on past battles and decide who won what and all that but to say, let’s do some more GvG. It’s a fun element to the game that’s been left out of its formal design. The change to PPT won’t be that dramatic. You wanna claim great PvP skills? Awesome, let’s put it to the test. If you are going to claim them and not show them, then such claims are on par with the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy.

Just so it’s clear, all those CD guilds which went to TC shopped around first. They did approach us at JQ and asked us to pay more than what TC was offering and they would xfer over. We respectfully declined, but for fair warning to you guys they did say that if things looked glim on TC they would come back to talk to us.

Honestly, any server that resorts to paying guilds to move over to them does so at their own risk and at the sacrifice of everything they’ve worked for up to that point.

When I heard TC was paying guilds to xfer over I was quite honestly shocked. Might as well call yourselves BG 2.0 now.

Is this true? TC really paid all those CD guilds to transfer over? ’Cause that would be pretty hilarious if true.

Of course it’s not. We have offered to assist with some funds to defray the cost of the server xfers, but helping people with that does not equate to “paying guilds to transfer over.”

Hahaa yes, that was a fun Bay defense last night, and a long enough stretch of outmanned that the 300 quotes started popping up.

In regards to the double teaming, I’ll say this: it’s very easy to influence who your opponent attacks in the borderlands. We thought PiNK’s hold of Garrison was a little strong so we took Redwater and set up a nice long siege at Redlake with catapults. Sure enough, TC defenders started to build up until finally a zerg popped out of Redlake like a swarm of ants (hooray end of culling). We disengaged at that point but noticed FA had time to get to inner Garrison while that was happening.

On the other side of the coin, TC helped us hold Bay longer because they hit Garrison twice after FA had gotten through outer Bay walls, pulling away most of the FA attackers. We destroyed FA’s skeleton crew left to man the trebs on the cliff and closed the outer gates. It probably wouldn’t have been twice if FA had left a mesmer at Bay—even TC sent a mesmer to Bay…tsk tsk

You didn’t “take Redwater.” You took it about 2 dozen times lol. Also why are you surprised about the lack of a mesmer? This is the same force that lost their garrison (two ticks away from it being lost twice) due to tunnel vision when both Kai and TC where outmanned on their BL.

The coat, the boots, and the leggings all have weird perma colors added to them as well. Mine are partially red for some reason. (Was all abyss dye before)

I would advise that you narrow the list down to a handful of servers then send a few of your own players to observe the communities and WvW first hand. Nothing beats first hand experience in gauging what will work best for you, even if it is a bit expensive. Read up on on both server forums and this official one. Good luck and hope you find a nice home that will work for you.

Edit: As a TC player from Day 1, if you’re looking for a non Tier 1/2 server, Yak’s Bend is pretty awesome. Always had good experiences fighting them, and they’re resilient.

You guys must be tired of running from point to point if you guys react to every call made in team chat. I would get sick of running that much. I guess its preferred to just listen to our scouts in mumble.

Also FA since when does NA primetime start at 3pm!!! You guys started really early today, BT, RET, ZN, GODS all of you guys were out on TCBL. I have to go to bed after defending Hills in TCBL for so many hours. Is it because of spring break / school holidays that FA’s primetime is starting this early?

1.) Ummm. That’s the supply camp outside of bay. Meaning it takes like 20 seconds to reach inner bay from that camp. According to that map chat, outer walls of bay are breeched. Why would anyone ignore a larger zerg attacking their supply camp to wipe the smaller zerg that hasn’t even started on inner bay yet? That would just result in cutting off one of the supply lines to bay and give supply to the enemy zerg. Also opens you up to a pincer if both zergs are watching you and coordinated. Much more efficient to wipe the bigger zerg, make them run back, keep your supply camp, and mop up the smaller zerg after in bay no?

2.) Regarding Spring Break, yes, many places in the U.S. have Spring Break this week. Combine that with St. Patrick’s Day and you have servers with more school aged demographics having a population surge while servers with older populations have a decrease. (Think most people would prefer drinking and getting over hangovers to WvW’ing) A lot of servers/guilds are just taking it easy given this and resting due to the proximity to the big March WvW patch. Hence why servers that have gone 10-0 (BG and SOR) and 9-0 (TC and FA) have their positions reversed for the first time literally ever this week.

Two little known interesting tidbits about TC:

1.) Dulfy of Dulfy.net calls Tarnished Coast home.

2.) TC is also home to Karas.

This was probably the most fun “fight” last night.

Obvious something is wrong. Not just TC or the Euro servers now either.

The dev post states that the numbers look fine. This thread is explaining a possible reason that said number shown may be bugged and incorrectly showing more people on their end when people on the ground in game are noticing clear discrepancies.

BG/DB fight was before any of those other matches actually. Still don’t see your point there. FA players didn’t post anything in either of your links that were bad. Your grasping at straws here.

I believe you said “everyone was civil” not “FA was civil.” The point was that’s incorrect, and that almost every match up thread has clowns on it of some variety or another.

First post was someone from FA complaining about zergs. Big trend about the “whining” on the non FA side is that FA keeps “whining” about zergs, etc. My point was, it seems to be a de facto argument from FA that has literally been used for months. Hence the “familiar?” line.

Fair enough though, I’ll let the other readers make the call for themselves, seems pretty self evident to me. Will drop since this is veering off topic.

It’s funny you talk about civility. TC players on this forum except for a few are a great example of what it means to not be civil. Just read this thread and the last couple of ones. TC players keep on accusing FA of whining but all they do is whine. It’s getting tiring. When we were up against Maguuma, Dragonbrand, and Darkhaven everyone was civil in those threads. We didn’t even get moderator warnings.
