I know i’m not the only one who finds this absolutely histarical

You may also note that the tickets if you received them have new art. So yeah. They didn’t fix being able to get them or claim them, but they did find the time to change the art!

I have to disagree with the dialogue, it seems similar to Season 1 which was IMO subpar to horrid. Makes me dread things to come.

I do like the baby dolyak race, I do not like the model, but that’s personal preference for the normal yak model.

The blade shard vendor is a huge letdown. First was the “save your shards, you can get stuff for them” comment only for “a green or better” (meaning a green) after months.

This patch has continued on a rather disturbing trend IMO. The new achievements are ALL grind. Kill X mobs. Do X events. Collect X things. All this for the fewest achievement points to date. Literally some achievements give a miniscule 1 point.

Then there’s the loot… except there’s no loot to be had in the Pavilion except for some incredibly poor chest rewards that aren’t worth the time. Drops have been removed from the main bosses and the mobs minus some tokens and tickets. Did you think it was really such a good idea to remove all loot drops for a 20-30 min meta event that has to be done 10 times?

OP is correct that bandwagons can be overcome. The sudden surge in numbers may be overwhelming at first, but they conceal some fatal flaws that can be exploited. Heh, thanks for reminding me of the good old days on my server of fighting the Kaineg and DB bandwagons. =)

You know, I honestly can’t tell in this case. On one hand, the EOTM release showed what a massive kitten fest occurs every time they touch something related to WvW, so in theory they could still be having problems with it. On the other hand, I can also see them saving it as an “ace in the hole” to ease the anger from the next blunder you know is incoming, probably after immense dissatisfaction after Season 2 the Spring Tournament. Then they’ll rebrand it once again and hope we won’t notice.

Epilogue was terrible IMO. Very poor writing and so many awkward moments. Oh well, at least it didn’t bug… unless you count the cutscene on logging in instead of zoning into LA like the patch mentioned.

I think what it boils down to is that the team are clearly working their backside off to produce something excellent and epic – and by in large I do think they were achieving this more and more each patch. However, what this patch showed to me was that time constraints were the problem and a rushed out patch caused;

- bugs and repeating bugs
- QA not being able to test all tactics. There was a QA dev post saying that the Knights were intended to kill together not one by one. Well, I expect further time allowed for testing may have taken that more into account.
- no directional information. It was unclear within the game what people were meant to be doing and where they were meant to be going etc. That had the hallmarks of being something that was removed due to time constraints.

Like I said, the massive hard work the team put into the releases is laid out bare, but I think the big learning curve from Season 1 is scheduling – releasing something when it is ready, not to a pre-detremined and very tight schedule.

That’s the thing though, according to the front page post, they spent EXTRA time on this. Either they didn’t or it was so poorly spent as to be the buggiest set of releases yet. Either is unacceptable.

So, after a night of the hotfix, it seems:

- Healing of Blue Knight has been bugged again
- 6 Minutes to Knightfall not being awarded on actual completion, still being awarded at random
- Loot nerfed, possibility of NO loot if you fail to kill a knight at all
- Knights HARDER to kill now with players doing ~50% less damage
- Scaling still messed up

Honestly, ending the living story with the buggiest patch to date is an embarrassment.

both of the achievements for the Prime Hologram are just illogical. Why would u have an achievement that makes people either stay away from the fight so that they won’t get hit or not hit the enemies only because if they do it without all attunements they will lose a chance to get the achievement (“In Tune” achievement).

I just wish I was at the round table discussion on these achievements so I could kick whoever suggested them out of the room.

I for one would like to know exactly what was “polished” during this extra time.

The last batch of releases have not only been far from “polished,” they’ve been some of the buggiest patches to date. Each release has not only contained bugs that have literally crippled the content they were supposed to introduce, but introduced along with it stuff that would make any QA professional cringe.

Examples include: The marionette event not working right if beaten once, worm chain breaking at pirate rum, EOTM literally being down for half a day, everyone and their mother being allowed into EOTM map causing crippling lag, worm exploits, worm scaling, Miasma and citizen counters broken, attunement circles not showing up, Prime hologram going invulnerable, knights not dropping loot, inventory bags magically increasing in size everytime you open your UI, WvW scoreboard being FUBAR, and heck, even an entire server being locked out of a borderland for nearly a day…. and that’s just off the top of my head.

So I’m left to wonder if this was just an excuse to give the devs some holiday off time or just incredibly poor execution. If the former, not many people at all would hold it against ANET for taking some holiday time off, just be straight with it. If the former, seriously? ANET insists it does QA, but the player base seems to be holding fast to the belief that it’s nonexistent, and that’s being reinforced time and time again, not debunked.

Nobody is complaining about it

Bad news for you: people do complain about it. Disabling Shot has been a point of irritation for people ever since the initiative change in December, and Choking Gas is devastating with its current effect and the way the duration stacks.

There may be problems with Shortbow, that doesn’t make these changes indefensible. And that bit about “main weapon” is just nonsense. Regardless of what slot you stick a Shortbow in, it is far and away one of the most popularly used weapon types for this profession.

Well, thank you for at least explaining unlike the previous troll poster.

Detonate – Still have yet to see a counter point to this. It’s unjustified in my opinion and the combination of the sheer % reduction and the critical damage nerf is far too large.

Disabling Shot – People are “irritated” by it? That justifies the nerf? Blowing all your initiative for a few seconds of evade. How is this any different then say, block skills, invul skills, or other evade skills like ranger sword/dagger? I can maintain similar levels of defense with the above even with CDs, yet they’re not touched. If you want to reduce that level of defensive ability, do it across the board, and not a weapon that’s been nerfed several times.

Choking Gas – This I can at least see as being reasonable and the change I have the least issues with. I still don’t think it’s OP enough to deserve the nerf bat considering some of the other kitten out there, but fair enough. This in combination with everything else done to the shortbow? Too much.

Range – Still no justification

Main Weapon Distinction – Not nonsense, there are people that use it as a main weapon set. The point is, Everything but daggers and pistols has been culled to shoehorn thieves into just a few builds. That’s kitten, regardless of how many people use it. I see your point if you take what I said to mean that “it’s not a big deal, why nerf it because so few people use it,” but that’s not what I meant, and admittedly, poor wording on my part. The point was, you don’t further kill build diversity that is already endangered for some nerfs that are at best, questionable especially when coupled with an Improvisation buff that just screams OP at the same time.

You…do realize that almost every thief has a shortbow as a swap weapon 90% of the time, right? It’s one of our strongest weapons, hands-down, even if we don’t use it as a primary weapon.

Well kitten , and here I thought I was talking about it as a main weapon… oh wait I was… and what part of what I said doesn’t apply to it as a side weapon? The point is, the nerfs are uncalled for.

Honestly, I don’t even know where you’re coming from with this. Shortbow is the LEAST used weapon in the game for thieves as a main weapon. Nobody is complaining about it, and yet you still keep messing with it despite far more serious OP issues with other classes.

The most recent suggested changes combined with the upcoming critical damage nerf is insane. Nerf Detonate? Why? 18% damage + crit damage nerf is enormous. Make Disabling Shot cost more initiative but increase the damage? It wasn’t a damage skill to begin with. Choking Gas duration nerf? Duration considered too OP? Are you kidding me?

This is all on top of the previous nerfs from 1,200 range and the Trick Shot nerf.

With this, you have literally nerfed every skill on shortbow significantly except the utility skill Infiltrator’s Arrow.

Thieves are now still the ONLY class without a 1,200 range weapon now as well.

Please do not go through with these changes. Not only are they poorly though out, they make no sense from a player perspective. Nerfing an entire weapon that nobody is complaining about just kills build variety that is already sorely lacking.

Yes, if you had more then 5 done but hadn’t finished the achievement, it finished automatically when you log in and DID NOT give you meta credit.

This makes it impossible to finish the meta if you got this bug.

This isn’t a bug. Nodes reset for two reasons. 1.) A patch. 2.) If a map becomes empty, the nodes reset.

If you’re noticing more node resets, that’s a server population issue.

How did FA get weaker after the addition of SoR guilds? It makes no sense. They must have lost guilds at the same time.

They didn’t. They also got guilds from other servers. They did put up a pretty decent fight a few weeks back, but IMO that was their new transfers working hard to establish themselves.

Here is what it did do. It allowed people who actually play PVP strictly, rather than PVE, a chance to get FOUR more points a day. Is it big, no. That is what is ok for all you achievement farmers out their, it is not that big.

Let’s break this down for the QQ’ers. 8 Wins. More than likely you will NOT get eight wins in a row in a timely fashion. This type of progress would probably take a minimum of 3 hours, more than likely longer. Now for you AP Farmers out their, what could you do for three hours to supplement the FOUR points you would be missing. Maybe do what you appear to desire to do the most, go farm. Agent of Entropy is 2 AP every time you salvage 200 things. I bet in approximately 3 hours you can get 400 items to salvage. Bet you will make more money than the PVP’er too. The PVP player loses out on both time and probably money in this scenario. I hope they had more fun though

It’s four points. Its not the end of the world. Suck it up, don’t get your panties in a bunch over something PVP’ers can get over PVE’ers. PVE’ers still get the better end of the deal in regards to reward for time.

Does anyone remember when they had the win a tourney match achievement as part of the SPvP daily? It was only for a short time and was quickly removed because it was ridiculous. I had fears this would occur today, but thought the better of it because I assumed the dev team learned their lesson.

Instead they have exceeded my expectations at how royally they could bungle this. 8 wins. I’d say that’s 8 times harder, but that’s wrong – it’s even HARDER since you have to do both solo and team wins.

Was it really so hard to do a copy and paste of the regular spvp achievements but for arena? Those are fair. Or heck, even change wins to games played? So many options make sense, but this isn’t one of them.

You can argue about AP all day, but I don’t think anyone can dispute a design decision like this is poor when it turns people off from the content and the game in general.

Please address this ASAP.

Yes, we know you have an unhealthy obsession with attempting to resuscitate your attempt at an “e-sport.” If anything, the achievements should be similar in nature to the regular spvp ones, but just in arena instead of hot join.

Did you get it for multiple tools? I was scared they would come up with a reason to not give it to me for all, so I only deleted one first.

Yes I got it for 6 tools.

Also, yeah the soulbound instructions were kinda confusing. Basically, I had already traded my soulbound unlimted tools for the account bound ones, deleted the extras I didn’t need, and that worked out fine.

Found a temporary fix. If you do more achievements (enough to knock out the Daily Camp Capture out of the recently completed window) you can reopen without crashing. Still missed out on a daily chest though.
