Yeah, a skin would work as well.
Having some form of using it in the future would be nice even if it seems like wasted time getting multiples :\
Getting an alternate way to use it on land is totally not an ulterior motive for my engineer to be even more shiny/sparkly.
Duo would be ok as they would be able to bring a team up decently w/o being able to fully carry.
Would like to see it in ranked as well, it’s incredibly annoying going up vs premades. Though satisfying winning vs them (not so often).
Was Rytlock ever fully explained as to what his profession actually is before?
Existed all the time, entering the mists shared it with the world… ignoring the argument of retcon paywall.
They could have simply gone with, this story is a vision from the mists about past events as you fully transcend to Revenant (as in GW1 new prof doing old missions).
Confirming each time you upgrade it you can rechoose stats. Last upgrade is infusion, be careful then. Lose any upgrades slotted in the process as well.
Also confirming transmuting has no affect on upgrading. Recorded doing so a while ago but can’t find the file, seems to have been deleted. May do so again when I make another or infuse the last one though that will be a while. It’s only two transmutation charges lost at any rate as you can swap the skin back.
On a related note don’t infuse the Tempered Spinal Blades. Colour it first or colour and upgrade at the same time as you save 250 ecto. That is unless you already infused it and want to re-choose stats, in that case the ecto are already gone :/ .
It’s good that the Rime-Rimmed Mariner’s Rebreather (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rime-Rimmed_Mariner%27s_Rebreather) from Wintersday will no longer be best in slot. Especially the ability for players to craft their own via the fractal recipe.
However, what about the people that spent the time to obtain one for the effect? I’d really like a way to extract the particles to apply to another underwater helm or even use it on land (maybe simply bring it to an npc to trade for a gem like Poly-Lumi?).
Woo another month another update for the post!
Unfortunately havn’t been to any XHSA missions since last update for various reasons.
Interesting, will check it out later when I have my tablet.
Is there a widget to list the last purchased/sold items? Could also be useful to have a widget that acts like a stock ticker, specify an item and it will periodically show the current buy/sell orders and how they’ve changed since last check.
Curiosity doesn’t kill, hesitation is the culprit.
Can also do guild missions with guilds that guest people in when they run them. An hour a week or so for two weeks reduces the cost of one ascended trinket by a lot, again for the other if wanted. Fractals below 10 are really easy, if you try the guild missions approach they may also be doing them as well. Just doing the daily fractal stuff at your leisure will give you a no cost ascended ring. Laurels for ascended ammy, or get it in WvW for reduced laurel cost and some badges.
Exotic is fine though. The nice thing about ascended is if you make more alts they can share the gear (if useable). It’s all up to you though, the ecto cost buying ascended from the laurel (not ammy) vendor is too high for my tastes ^.^
Submit a support ticket.
They may replace it or perform your once for any reason rollback.
The “zerker meta” is a response to current game systems and designs.
Sinister is a reasonable alternative/addition if a class can use it, especially now that condi’s have been reworked.
Celestial hybrid grenades with or without bombs (which have scaled well with power in the past) can actually do a decent amount of damage. The condi damage seems less now while some alternate traits give extra physical hits to compensate. I’ve not compared the actual damage to past builds though.
The changes to how grenades act as a base seem to have more of an affect on condi versions more than anything right now.
Flamethrower has decent utility. Been trying out a burn based build and getting interesting results, will be trying it out soon for real. 6k burn ticks is pretty fun though…
Tossed them all on my engy plus made him some sinister armor and weapons.
WvW: Soooo much fun.. so fragile.. but anything ignoring me dies unless it’s one of those annoying run away wars. Stealth and blind spam anything on me (mostly thieves), tanky enemies generally die before doing anything.
PvE: Everything just melts.
I’ve wondered about the report a char name, seems like it may be used to troll others.
It’s good to see reporting the name is how we should handle this. Seen so many guild names that should get reported but the extra steps required just made it not worth the time/effort. Will be doing this instead until they change the wording ^.^
Just a little chat about the last big patch and how leveling new characters is after it.
(My reference for this video; Started playing at launch. Have 7 main characters at lvl 80 and one war alt waiting on tengu. One additional guard and just recently rerolled my second nec back to a nec.. Also leveled another half dozen or so to 80’s in the past before deleting.)
Wow it’s been about 6 months since making this topic.
And somewhere over a year and a half since the start of uploading these runs.
Time sure does fly
I’m finding it to be the biggest change for quite some time.
Larger than the first trait revamp and NPE. Granted many builds were killed and many options were reduced. How many of those trait options were never or rarely taken though? Thee max tier lines provides a large boost in most cases even when they’ve unfortunately nerfed a number of options by putting them in the same mutually exclusive line.
In the end it still feels like GW2. Still do miss GW1 at times, but it’s still there to hop on if the nostalgia gets too much. Would like to see more GW1 concepts brought over.
Why not go the extra step and make it a dating guild?
Lonely tank tinkering Charr looking for similar; tinkering together is more fun!
Nothing wrong with multiple methods of achieving the same end result though.
So on that interesting note… here it is in action.
Anyone remember the EoE team bombers in GW1?
Foxfire has been dropping in price as more and more people complete the hunt. Does seem reasonable at this point to have more uses.
Blade shards, if a better way to obtain them came out. Perhaps as a Battle for LA fractal to have them and the power cores obtainable again. Maybe a guild event that they can invite others to?
Agree with the Corn (wonder if that thing will be back next halloween) and Spores (made a few of those items for friends/guildies).
That’s possible, though it seems more to be an afterthought for the festival rewards.

The thing about Parasitic Contagion now is that it’s not possible to take it and the increased condi duration (Lingering Curse) when using wand.
Making the 2x condi duration only affect Scepter skills made the choice a lot easier. You don’t really need the extra duration on scepter. Especially if you use a Staff+Scepter/Dagger rotation with MoE + Geomancy procs in melee range (which sustain builds can do).
Maybe more for PvE and probably WvW. Scepter has really good sustained conditions with a high duration, nowhere near a flanking ranger camping shortbow. The tradeoff there is less poison.
sPvP the loss of 30% duration really hurts. Plus no consumables to offset anything.
Though this is all based on my limited play time of a condi nec. Basically avoided it until recently ^.^
Sinister is on the tp for dirt cheap though. Well, before the patch. Verata went up more than exotics but all are still cheap compared to farming crests.
Wonder how many intend to use the track’s Geodes for the Ambrite weapon the end gives. Do have to farm a few extra to do that.
Why do you keep referring to Geodes in regards to Sinister?
The thing about Parasitic Contagion now is that it’s not possible to take it and the increased condi duration (Lingering Curse) when using wand.
Sadly, nothing.
Can’t put the insignia in the forge.
Would be neat if we got the ascended versions next Wintersday. Or possibly Wintersday in July like ye olde times.
Would also suggest Guardian if you would like to have a few more things to do than hit stuff ’til it dies. You can then hit stuff ’til it dies plus light it on fire!
Well actually, above that, they can give some more direct support while still being tanky with high damage.
EotM or on level events.
Can also hang out in areas with fast respawning events to do them until you are 10ish levels above or hit deminishing returns then move to another zone with similar events. Safer than EotM and you can watch something or play another game at the same time.
I’ve ran a similar vampire build for ages.
For PvE it is highly tanky even in full damage gear. sPvP with a knight’s ammy and giving the minions boon removal.
D/D for the weakness and condi removal or D/W for the extra hits and cripple. Sigil of Blood and stacking power or precision in PvE, Blood+x for PvP. It was designed to tear tanks down and did the job really well, until the minions stopped doing anything. Waiting to see if minions are competent before trying it again, many of the traits were changed and all the things that went in to that update so it will be different now. Biggest issue is no more boon removal.
The old build in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqJmSLcsybY&index=90&list=PLGKyy8lfX_UWhFaFg8qfZk9W7U_YqfzLO
I’ve solo’d all story related content on my ele with few problems.
Personal story and some extra stuff with engineer went well. War/guard generally does ok though some areas can be tricky. Necro with minions and a power build + life steal can generally tear most stuff up decently as well. Ranger is similar to nec, though at times the mobs seem to ignore the pet.
For my ele, it has a zerker/celestial mix. Though both he and my engy have multiple gear sets to swap to in the situations where sustain is more important. Though staff ele has so many heals and options zerk/celestial just plain works.
Better yet, bind double click to the mouse wheel ^.^
By that logic, glorious armor is also account bound so why not give it all stat selections?
There’s still the charged quartz and other ingredients involved. Seems like it wouldn’t affect anything to add some more options to it.
Though it is odd the best under water helm (exotic+selectable stats) was best obtained in sPvP.
If they really do make a minimum player count to do it such as the old Arah story that won’t be fun. Halls don’t seem to be targeted to personal bank guilds and that’s fine. Doesn’t mean I won’t try to claim my hall going in solo if able.
The Guild Wars in the game’s name is about guilds warring with each other in the past over Bloodstones/power/etc. The previous one ending with the Searing. Wonder if we will see a small scale one pop up in the story since guilds may play a more important role going forward lore wise. Though on that I’m going off topic.
Seems ANet is keeping in mind the different play styles. The change to utility and elites shows they are taking our feedback.
Necro corruptions giving conditions to self is not a direction I agree with.
Another interesting thing to note, a necro can kill another player if that person is using anything that pulls condis from allies.
All i can say i made Eternity and don’t have that title. But i’m not sure if i had bound Twilight.
Think they are saying if you had an Eternity + an additional bound Twilight/Sunrise. Not the ones used to craft it.
Another vote for Laurels.
You can start doing the sPvP daily fairly quick in hotjoin/practice. This will net you a fair amount of stuff and a small yet decent amount of Clovers. Plus all the other loot such as tomes for days…
Do the Silverwastes Reward Track and Balthazar Backpack Box first. Little longer but one offs so nice to get done. Afterwards, or if you don’t care about those, can do dungeon weapon boxes/Glorious armor.
80 sPvP reward potions will complete a track or use them as you go.
Also don’t forget to pop a celebration or birthday booster for more track progress (ignores potions though) and use that char during the times call of the mists is active for even more progress (especially if you feel up to playing unranked).
Edit: Also get obsidian shards from spvp too. Not as many as silverwastes… still nice to vary what one does. Killing Teq at reset gives tons of karma if you need that.

Yup was wondering about this as well, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Giver-s-Armor-reminds-me-of-the-old-MF-armor
Probabaly will happen: nothing. The two stats get a boost when all armor gets boosted but the % remains the same.
Potentially happen: replaced like mrdevi mentioned. Existing sets would become statless and selectable new stats like the old MF gear.
It’s really odd how the weapons have condi instead of boon. Maybe they will merge them at this point.
Perhaps next wintersday we will see ascended giver recipes drop. They may add the stat to legends at that point.
Speculation on what HoT will have, no idea. Taunt/slow/etc may be odd conditions (and the new boons) that won’t be affected by things like that. Similar to how quickness is not and daze only has a few modifiers.
sPvP can be done from the moment you make a new character and leave the starting instance.
In the GW series levels are simply a gating to content. Living story being missing has cramped much of that content right now. Still lots of things to do on the journey to 80 then afterwards after setting a few goals. Then the option to try another class out etc.
Regarding WvW, sure you can go in at any level. Unless you pay a small fortune on low level exotics enemies will generally have a significant advantage. Best to stick with a lvl 80 unless mindlessly grinding EotM for levels.
Also keep in mind: if GW2 is boring simply take a break. There’s no sub fee and you won’t get behind in gear. The game is very casual friendly and will wait for you to return for some more adventures. Also getting friends involved/joining an active guild helps significantly.
Regarding the sidenote. Their forum software is limiting titles to 45, which can be short for sure, and they could increase it however it’s better than needlessly over-long titles. Being short and to the point as the details go in the post is the best way to handle it imo.
Also stealth on the crab carrier is really really bad.
Make sure someone is not trolling ya during the event…
Levels in GW2 are just a gating to content.
Max level can do all the things. Can even wear bad equipment to play in low level areas like a lowby would be.
May also want to consider going with an Intel chipset and an Nvidia card. Many folks I’ve heard mention say they run the game better.
Completely happy with my i7 4770k though that’s a little overkill for simply playing the game.
Resolution can also have a huge impact on performance. running at a lower resolution in windowed mode may drastically increase your performance
That’s for sure. When recording at windowed 720p my settings can get increased to high compared to full screen medium.
Also you can bind a key to swim directly down in the f11 options menu, bound mine to shift.
Doesn’t help getting under the surface as you still need to angle the camera to dive. Can help greatly while in the water to change your position/kite mobs.
Noticed less cloth armor as of late, about normal for everything else.
Thinking it’s time to reroll a cloth prof to get the nice light loots again… it’s all anecdotal evidence that actually works. However opening bags at specific levels works great.. mainly for linen that is.
Had a few rares from the end chest at Teq the last few days, rng is rng :/
Thinking of recording GW2? Not sure where to start?
Curious about what’s involved with creating YouTube content?
This video shows how I generally go about making an episode of sPvP, from start to finish. Keep in mind as a daily episode the concept is to keep things as simple as possible in order to produce the amount of videos needed while keeping a base quality. Recorded during the 100th vid!
Been a bit late on updating, being busy is good right?
Was waiting for the more recent vids to finish uploading however am running in to issue uploading. Wanted to go with less edits.. which meant longer/larger vids.. which has lead to youtube failing to process and/or the vids failing to upload. So if these next attempt getting the new vids up fail will have to take a weekend and edit up a storm.
Season one was slow at the start but got much better later on. Felt that it was better in terms of the stuff that went on than season two, such as the world bosses and one off events. Season two had a ton of delays and oddities which were explained by it simply being a lead up to the expansion. With no new content until then. At least we know a feature pack will hit. They did say they would like to bring season one back in the journal however that won’t be for a while yet.
They could implement the instanced stuff and have the one off events be redoable with a guild or in fractals while retaining the ‘I was here for when it really happened’ aspect. Each episode is basically like tv, bit of an overarching story but each episode is also self-contained. Hopefully they pull less from the tv aspect and more with how things are now.
Just buy them last if at all. New char slots then bank tabs are a better value and a banking guild can help.
Though as of late, anyone spending money => gems would probably get a better deal buying extra accounts during the 10 dollar sales. Even if not the extra stuff a second account can provide could be rather handy.
I’m hoping a Celestial ascended sword will do the job decently ^.^
Did you get a Tequatl’s Hoard? Pondering on getting the Revolver of the Sunless?
Here’s a video showing it used a bit, hopefully it helps someone decide one way or another.
