What is this the 4th revamp of dailies?
If they spent half the time fixing the rest of the game as they do revamping dailies the game could probably be bug free by now…
Previous revamps were just tweaks to the existing system which was kind of a place holder system. This has been discussed for a long time as a more permanent system. I don’t think they pulled much hours off the engineers to make this, it’s mostly new art assets. They’ve gotten enough feedback on old dailies to come up with this. There’s room in this system for everyone. You can play it as a completionist and finish everything, you can do the minimum for your APs, you can just log in for your laurel and not give a crap about the APs or loot, or you can ignore it entirely. Basically lowering the minimum effort for the APs, lowering the minimum effort to get your daily and monthly laurels, while offering more to do and more rewards overall. They put thought into this, and all you can do is whine that there’s still bugs in systems that are being worked on people not involved in designing APs and art assets. This community needs their heads checked.

Higher stats, more upgrade slots. Even if you don’t do fractals you can load the extra upgrade slots up with more power or more vitality. 5 per slot doesn’t seem like much but added up across all 14-16 slots it comes out to +70 to a stat. It’s very expensive to get this +70 but this is how Anet designed long term character progression for people who weren’t happy with the easy gearing.
Make tiles smaller, expand number of possible tiles, add a scroll bar, all wallet and currency problems solved forever.
My issue with this layout is that it gets very cluttered very quickly. There’s no overall organisation to it, it’s just a bunch of blocks.
Mine isn’t organized because it’s fictional.
Make tiles smaller, expand number of possible tiles, add a scroll bar, all wallet and currency problems solved forever.
The bags also give a bunch of garbage gear which most people salvage. Seems to be a method of increasing mystic stone purchases for mystic salvage kits. I know I’ve already gone through several.
use basics or copper fed on junk gear, save your mystic kit for rares
using mystic kits on a green is a net loss of 30 copper per use minimum. if you need green runes and sigils this badly you actually save money by buying them at full price on TP than salvaging for them.

Dry top was forgotten because the events were overtuned on misanthropic levels, 85% of the events were just there to tease you xD
No 75 man zerg? GTFO.
Proposal Overview
A revamp of the current squad system for a unified raiding, world boss, and WvW large party system experience.
Proposal Functionality
Revamping the currently very lackluster squad system would be extremely useful for managing raid instances as well as benefiting the rest of the game.
We should have a squad management menu that allows for options like public/private squad settings, organizing squad members into 5 man groups, and assigning people as assistants for running multiple tags in squad.
We should have a new squad sidebar like the current party sidebar but compressed and we should be able to toggle between party and squad view. Maybe have something like 60 person max squads, sorted into 12 5 man groups, and in the squad view you’ll have 2 columns of 3 parties, groups 1-6 and 7-12 can see eachother on squad view. This would allow for a massive amount of utility in building organized squads in nearly every situation in the game and present the ability for the devs to create an easy to learn and fairly unintrusive GUI element.
+10 internets to OP
I have same sentiment.
Steam takes 30% of profits for all it’s listed games, and they have some odd policies for how they handle their portion of microtransaction profits. This is very likely the reason they chose not to launch on Steam. I have an 11 year Steam account, though. I would love to see it added now, I’d buy a second game license if that was the only way to play fully on Steam with stat tracking and whatnot. I hope they do a Steam launch eventually.
So yesterday I got my 7000 AP chest, and got one more 5 point omnomnivore achievement past that. I logged out at 7005 AP.
Today I logged in and I did 5 dailies and 3 dungeons. I got one dungeon master repeatable done, 10 APs total. I’m still at 7005 APs through multiple relogs. Even if I was incorrect about getting an achievement after finishing my 7k chest the very minimum it should be reading at is 7010, but I am 100% certain it should be 7015 right now. What’s the deal? Am I missing some unlisted cap on daily and repeatable APs?
Another case of making quality of life worse with an update.
There’s nothing else to really say here…
Why?
WHY?!
Are you trying to force us into buying gems? I can’t see any other reason for this change. I’m trying not to go all tin-foil hat conspiracy mode here, but… What other purpose does this serve? The lowest option is seriously 400 gems? What in the gods names names was wrong with the previous system?
First forcing us to map with the new trait unlock system…
Then the breaking down of the leveling system that only made the game more tedious and and highly unfriendly to new players…
Now this…
I don’t even…
Who are you people?… And what have you done with the Anet execs that designed the game we fell in love with and took the MMO gaming world by storm in 2012? Cause you’re certainly NOT they.
I agree, Anet died today. Ashes on the wind. Nothing they could ever do will make up for the hate they bred in me with this change. Looking at the Tera installer right now.
Somewhere in the world there is one 9 year old who is looking at this change and saying, “Whew, finally I can understand how to buy gems with gold without hurting my brain.”
So yes that single player thanks you for this. Mission accomplished.
if a 9 year old couldn’t figure out the old one he needs to be in a hospital getting treatment not playing games. this is the most blatant and disrespectful lie i’ve ever seen from a community management team.
it’s only putting 20 people in the maps before it opens a new one, you can go in the portal 500 times and find 500 different commanders leading around 8 people. just bad on every level.
Bring out these unwashed hordes of noobs who were stumbling so badly on the functioning exchange. We want to see them. Your shameful cash grab isn’t hiding behind your even more shameful lies about it. Show us or put it back how it was.
Ok, guys. Some of you are unhappy about this change, I can see that. BUT… quite honestly, most of you are sort of (I hate to use the word) ranting (sorry!) instead of offering suggestions.
I assure you, the team leader told me not 15 minutes ago, they will listen to suggestions.
- Does that mean you get everything you want? Probably not.
- Does that mean you should suggest something? Yes, of course! Because they’re expecting player input.
So you want lower increments? Think it through and present a suggestion! You want XYZ in the interface? Post that idea. You would rather see something else? Post what you think about that other thing. Please don’t get into the whole “I’m going to kick the devs and their little dogs, too” because it’s not doing you or us any good at all.
I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to communicate and right now, the communication is coming in without a whole lot of substance. Over to you for suggestions and constructive input!
We want a perfect functioning exchange like WE HAD IN GAME ALREADY. What is to suggest? How can you even suggest constructive input on a maliciously destructive update? They deleted the best thing this game had going for it and you demand no negativity? No one here fired the first shot. The transparent lies about an obvious and intentional antiplayer policy your team has taken is more negative than any upset comment that can be made here. If they were going to listen it would have been hotfixed back to the working state already and gone back to drawing board. Find one player on this planet who thinks the exchange change was positive. Right, you can’t because the update was the equivalent of taking away a child’s toy then punching her in the face for crying. If it wasn’t done for the players, then who was it for? Right, you can’t give a straight answer on that, that’s not what you’re paid to do. There’s no dire need for this change no matter what garbage is concocted about new people being confused.
(edited by Asgaeroth.6427)
Hey there,
Here are a few tidbits from the team:
- A lot of newer players had trouble with the interface. That doesn’t apply to you, you’re veterans who have been around the conversion block a time or two. But newer players will benefit from the updated system.
- The goal was to make the Gem Store more like other shopping experiences, and if you think about it, there is more of that feel to it now.
- You may be surprised to know this (I know I was) but very few people bought gems at smaller denominations than the first one offered in the new system. That’s not to say they never did, nor that there wouldn’t be the desire to do so. But overall, the current options were selected based on player purchases in the past.
- The team is going to listen to your feedback and, if and when it’s practical and desirable, they can look towards adjusting the new system to better meet your needs.
So please keep your thoughts coming on the new system. Feel free to make suggestions but please, keeping them constructive would be very much appreciated.
This is a blatant lie. There is zero truth to this, I don’t care if you cooked up documentation from your financial department and posted it here. This post made me even angrier than the change itself. And this is constructive feedback, just because I strongly disagree with the change and your explanation of the change doesn’t make the feedback nonconstructive. The change is hilariously bad and everyone knows it including you. Make a ridiculous change like this to the game and then post something like that… how stupid would anyone have to be to swallow that. You might as well have wiped all characters and told us it was for the good of the economy and that 75% of players supported the idea when polled. We are not as stupid as you think, stop treating us with such disrespect.
Let’s go over the lies one by one.
New players had trouble: NOPE. not even one. It was the most clearly laid out and self explanatory menu in the game. If someone couldn’t figure out the old menu they wont figure out the new one either.
Better shopping experience: NOPE. Less options to the point of nearly no options, thanks but no thanks. I wont be shopping here anymore. If my grocery store decided all things in the store cost 1 of 5 prices and the new minimum price was 400 times the old one I’d find another store, which is what I’m considering with GW2.
No one bothered buying gems sub 400: AHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Most disrespectful and ridiculous lie I’ve ever heard in my life.
The team is going to listen: Second most disrespectful and ridiculous lie I’ve ever heard in my life. You guys shoved this change down our throats with no warning and no one ever in the history of the game mentioned the old system being bad. The actual problem was it was too good, too easy to use. You just don’t have the courage or respect for your players to admit it and that’s almost the worst part.
(edited by Asgaeroth.6427)
like thats going to happen lol
this is a cash grab nothing more. i think it should be a little more give and take instead of all take. 400 is unacceptable.
400 for the minimum gem purchase on the exchange is way way way too high. There needs to be a 200 gem option. Move the buy more gems button and put a 200 gem option there. I don’t care if you’re about to go bankrupt because no one is paying you cash now, there’s no excuse to make 400 the minimum. It’s game killingly cruel to do this. I’d rather see Anet living in boxes under a bridge than support you with cash until this is fixed.
Add a new achieve for hitting 300% base luck, achieve reward is a tool that grinds up exotic lucks into loot bags like Mawdrey II. This way there’s no change to luck in it’s current form and people who cap can get rid of it without feeling like they’re deleting stuff or getting less gains from salvage.
Where does this buff come from and how long does it last?
I logged in today and I have a purple buff that says I earn bonus rank points, bonus progression, and bonus magic find in spvp. Google and forum search gives no info.
I don’t know about skilled, but I have an accurate system for finding useful enough players to get a job done. In reference to pug dungeons, if they aren’t playing ranger I’m satisfied with their skill level.
I don’t think there’s anything particularly wrong with the class, it’s just been my experience after some thousands of hours that you can predict a player’s usefulness with about 85% accuracy depending on if they are a ranger or other. That 15% margin of passable players who play ranger is just too small to consider, and the equally small percentage of non ranger players who are completely useless is too small to consider as well.
I barely know anything about ranger, but when I see them join my group I roll my eyes in annoyance. I don’t think I’m some super player, but I’ve done every scale of fractal, every explorable, killed Clockheart a dozen times or so. I’ve been through the wringer with every class setup I can think of. I make mistakes, but I make at least a minimum effort to be a team player on my worst days. The absolute undeniable majority of rangers don’t. It’s so bad you have no choice but to assume they will be so bad that instead of just being down a man, they’ll do so much to try to and slow the run down it will be like being down 3 people. I think there’s a secret ISIS cell that is dedicated to playing ranger with the goal of destroying the confidence of the modern gamer.

Upgrade extractors are the worst valued item in the shop by a really hilarious factor. They should be 25 charge for their price and they are 1.
Salvage into what? They already vendor for decent silver. If they salvage into ascended dust they’ll be worth even less than vendor, if they salvage into mats or globs they’ll tank the markets because they’re so ridiculously common and cheap. I’m shocked they’re worth as much as they are for vendor.
I dress my 2 mains the same, Primeval set with CoE weapons and Static Spinal Blades, dyed stone with blood accents.
Raids in GW2… I might actually come back to the game if they are well done.
A couple things need to happen though:
1. PvP and PvE balance will need to be separated
2. Condition specs will need to be fixed
3. Raids must be instanced and challenging
4. Raids must be no larger than 15 peopleIf those 4 things are done then I think raids could be a big boon for GW2.
I don’t see the point in limiting it to 15 people. Kind of a ridiculous notion to me. Scaling would be more appropriate.
I would hope that they’d use some of the coding time on a raid system to refine the squad system into a proper raid group system with some party management options for the commander.
Try out “Mount Your Friends”. It’s a game entirely based on skimpy male armor, you’d love it.

December feature pack:
Trahearne has learned how to clone himself and has now taken over the world! Every NPC in game has been replaced by Trahearne. All Trahearnes now sell a Mini Trahearne pet for 1 copper. It is now required to have a Mini Trahearne equipped to use waypoints or enter a dungeon, by decree of Emperor Trahearne.
It’s way too short, it has way too few APs. I haven’t done the hundred or two APs in the new living story because I’m busy in WvW. You give your WvW players 4 points that taken no effort? Why not just mail everyone prize tickets at the start of the season? There’s no difference.
Collections: amazing
UI refinements: amazing
Expanded Wardrobe: amazing
TP: has potential, needs work. Mainly the sell tab. Needs 3 things:
remember sorting method (currently resets to order in bag after every transaction when it should remember if you’re sorting by name)
remember last sell method (always defaults to list item instead of fill buy order when it should remember your last method)
remember quantity method (always defaults to sell 1 instead of sell max when it should remember your last method)
I’m pretty much on the verge of having a stroke from the frustration of these 3 things resetting to maliciously useless default positions after 2 years of them running perfectly. These 3 very minor tweaks that should have been cleaned up first day on an internal build have taken the TP back to the stone age. Did you guys play test the new TP at all?
Good riddance. Mine was bugged on Laurels. Every time I’ve earned a laurel since I started playing, every single character, no matter what I did or clicked, I got the tip explaining what a laurel is. It also never checked off on the achieve so I never finished it. I would have personally funded the development time to retiring this achievement. I would have been happier if it was just erased from the game, they can keep the 10 AP, I don’t want to be reminded :P
Would really like to see people you add to your blocked list no longer appear on your map and screen as spam tags. It’s great and all that giving tags to ever level 3 XP farmer and every troll’s alt has turned most of the game into a skittles simulator. Would be nice if we could use the tags for the purpose in which we paid for them, though. I don’t really see any other solution. When you have 3 people tagged up leading operations and 46 people tagged up with no intention but to harass and spam, there’s a problem.
Why does the new TP not remember one single thing you do? I have to set quantity to max every time I sell an item, I have to click to fill buy orders every time I sell an item, I have to click sort by name every time I sell an item. The old TP never made me do all this hundreds of extra actions per session. This new TP is fundamentally broken and clunky to use compared to the old one. Please make it remember how you set things…
Why don’t you put out a list of all the topics you guys are willing to work on and then let us vote on priority?
The game isn’t very gearcentric. It’s not free, but you can buy an exotic soldier’s set for not even a week of farming on the TP and be good for life in WvW. How little work do you really want to put in?
Where’s our SAB?? This thread has more views than most of the stickies, does it not warrant a response as to why the already created and widely beloved SAB hasn’t been reenabled?
Didn’t you see the interview? It hasn’t been enabled again because it doesn’t fit in with the living story. Obviously. (tongue is firmly in cheek here. there’s literally no good reason to
trash the thingabandon it “for the time being.”)
It does fit, quite well. I think someone at Anet is actively trying to sabotage the game or hates the person who worked so hard to make it. The fact it isn’t on right now is pretty malicious, it’s not like it would actually take them any effort or have any impact on the game other than having something in the game that the players actually love.
Where’s our SAB?? This thread has more views than most of the stickies, does it not warrant a response as to why the already created and widely beloved SAB hasn’t been reenabled?
Personally I find Dry Top to be the most stale and boring zone in the game. I can’t even stomach going there any more. It’s the same horrible over tuned events going on in the same spots every day. My main issue with the place is no thought was put into how this zone would be used by the players. I’ve been to Dry Top hundreds of times, and every single time I’ve seen a group of players doing events they just follow the same few easily accessed easily finished events over and over and over. The zone has 20 times more events than is used by the general player population. The cause is the majority of the events are not functioning due to criminally over tuned champions in them. Most of the event champs are static tuned to require 75 people to even attempt it. There’s one sand monster thing that attacks the race event once in awhile and if you attack it with 30 people it wont even take damage before the event times out because he spam spawns monsters that grant him immunity faster than a group of the 30 best players in the game could kill. Why do the Dry Top events not scale to how many people are participating? If people want impossible content put it in instances. Stop destroying overland zones with content that can’t be done. Stop assuming every zone instance is going to have capped population all singularly focused on zerging events. You have the scaling tech, use it.
Comparatively no one plays Aetherpath either. It’s not disabled. It’s existence doesn’t hurt the people who want to do other stuff. Leaving it out this long just screws everyone who paid for permanent access and love the kitten thing like a best friend :P
What is the massive development challenge in the way of turning on SAB that everyone keeps talking about? Every official comment I see is “oh we need to be working on more important things”. There’s already a good content base in existence for the zone, it just can not be that difficult to set it up to be able to be turned on.
And to be even more blunt on the subject, why is Anet flushing cash down the toilet by not selling infinite continues and borking over everyone who bought them by leaving the zone disabled seemingly indefinitely?
Where is our SAB?
You made it, you sold access for cash, open the kitten thing already. What is all this crap “assign a dev for it”? IT’S ALREADY MADE.
SAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video sums up my opinion, as always, well said WoodenPotatoes. This may calm some people down….
Calm people down?? He’s talking about why Anet isn’t working on new SAB levels while showing the already finished SAB levels that people are demanding to play. If anything he’s just refreshing people’s memories on why they are fighting to have them turned back on.
SAB is a self contained activity. It’s extremely well designed and widely beloved, considerably better than any of the other activities. They sold permanent access to it in the cash shop but disabled it temporarily, but later announced it was likely long term or permanent. Who ever made it was paid a lot of dev hours to make it, and they could still be making money selling infinite continues in the gem store. With all the angles to the SAB story, you have to wonder what kind of idiot is behind the decision to have it disabled at all ever, let alone long term. It’s extremely bad for everyone with the loss of revenue, upset people who want to experience it again or for the first time, and upset people who supported the zone with their cash only to be locked out for possibly years or forever.
How does a riot not break out? :P
SAB or riot :>
I fully support SAB returning. Anet has done so much work on so many projects just to have them fade into obscurity for no explainable reason. They did the work to make content people love just to take it away. There’s no logic to it, seems mean spirited if anything. The game already has untold thousands of man hours in event scripts just sitting as memories in archived living world forums. Telling us SAB is going to remain inaccessible for the long term is not right.
There is quite a good number of Dry Top events that seem widely ignored even in organized instances. Either the mob does his mechanics way too quickly/often or the timer is nonsensically short. Would be nice to see some of the lesser used events polished up a bit. Don’t really see the benefit in having several of the events around Dry Top near guaranteed failures like Dust Monster and Tootsie. They both spam their mechanics so fast that it’s completely impossible to kill them in 10 minutes with less than a full blown zerg, even though they give the same bad loot as everything else.
People don’t run zerker because zerker is inherently the most fun. People run zerker because of Anet’s abysmal gold generation design and content releases. We get 2 new dungeons in 2 years, fractal and aetherpath. Both offer no benefit over the old easy explorables for making money, and are in fact quite significantly slower money even though they are significantly harder and significantly longer. In a game with no other focus besides economics and cosmetics as progression, this doesn’t fly with the seeming majority of players. We need a steady schedule of new explorables that don’t have intense mechanics checks and have a reasonable length and pay out for the zerk drama to go away. You can tune the stats a thousand times, you still wont change the mentality behind the need for those stats. If you address the problem of all the gold being in the old stale content you don’t need band aid stat fixes.
