We also figured out a tactic but the wurm eggs have an enormous amount of HP and the ridiculous armor of the husks doesnt help much; we tried a dedicated condition team just to take care of them but there is only so much cond.dmg u can do thanks to the cap. End result was exactly as you described.

On a side note, the Amber Wurm seems to be by far the most unforgiving of the wurms.

One thing I can’t stress enough is to kill the wurm eggs. The fight will be a absolute nightmare when there are 5-15 veteran jungle wurms spamming aoe and knockbacks.
Our strategy at Desolation has been to split the zerg in 2 groups which take turns between going for the abomination/getting eaten and killing the wurm eggs.

I’m happy that celestial crit.dmg might be getting nerfed. It makes no sense whatsoever that an ascended celestial GS gives 11% crit dmg. and ascended zerker gs that I got many copies of only gives 10% crit dmg lol

I bet that the effective nerf will be more than 10% because I’m quite confident they will nerf Banner of Discipline in the process too.

I think that the 10% dmg nerf on zerkers is the worst course of action they could have taken: there is still no reason to spec for anything than pure direct damage but stuff just takes longer to kill. Anet pls :/

Exactly what OP said. This is by far the most short-sighted and ignorant solution Anet could have come up with. There is still no reason to pick a condition build for PvE, no reason to run tanky setup and no reason to spec for anything like healing power or boon duration or CC. Nerfing zerk won’t make other builds any less useless, it is just that stuff takes longer to kill now.

Everyone i know plays this way and its making the game very boring and easy in all aspects of the game ( Except Spvp ) which is boring for other reasons

Do you plan to make healing and support builds viable for groups ?

Because of the full dps and dodge approach , its making other equipment/runes/sigils/traits/builds just not worthy , this is whats making the game boring !!!

1) Full zerk isn’t the easiest to play, I’d argue it is the hardest because getting hit once usually means death. Therefore, bad players faceplant when they sacrifice all defense for offense and good players are rewarded by being able to do amazing dps. Working as intended.

2) Support classes and builds are viable. See: Nader Engineer, Guardian, Mesmer. Just because all of these run full Zerk/Sin doesn’t mean they aren’t support. Skill applies here too: if you can avoid taking damage by skillful play you don’t need training wheels (tanky stats). Healing Power will never be a good stat because bosses and trash mobs hit so hard that no amount of healing will save you from getting gibbed in 5 seconds. Also, it can’ be buffed too much because it will break WvW.

3) Are you really saying being skilled in the game makes it boring? Well… I don’t know what to say. For me active defense (dodges and blocks etc) is a billion times more fun than passive defense (tanky stats).

I think they did that in order to stop all the arah p2 sellers, there was really too many of then on lfg. So, since they couldn’t fix the Lupicus exploit they just buffed the Alphard fight.

The removal of the WP stops no sellers. It punishes bad parties and achieves nothing else.
Alphard is still ez mode if you know the tactics.

I don’t understand why they keep messing with the Arah waypoints :S
Why haven’t we gotten the P1 Tar WP back? if u wipe lupi it takes several minutes to run back there in which I see no point. Also what I don’t understand is the WP placement after killing the entities: why does the WP spawn before the Ooze?

P2 WP removed after Belka? This falls into the same category. Good parties can still just run through ignoring the golem suit and bad parties get punished. Also this adds more redundant running that doesn’t seem to serve any purpose.

Explanation, Anet?

I wouldn’t mind the invasions if they were possible to complete but atm the scaling is off the charts and makes all 5 phases impossible to complete within the time limit. It is good champ farm too but I’d rather finish the event sometimes as mindless ‘111111111111111’ gets boring after a while lol

I’m too lazy to go through the thread, but there is one annoying bug in the Cliffside Fractal and one in the underwater fractal:

  • In Cliffside: if you wipe the final boss fight at the 3rd or 4th phase, the seal and the Archdiviner HP will reset but Archdiviner will stay in phase3, meaning that he spawns bone fiends, does pbAoE agony and pulls players and cages them, you name it.
  • In the Aquatic Ruins Fractal, if you get caught by the Jellyfish’s agony attack and get killed by it you will get no down state, instead you will be instantly dead. I’m not sure if this is a bug or not, but this would be the single occasion in the game where a mechanic instantly defeats you instead of putting you into down state.

This is not considered a bug.

The Fractal Skin Box is not dropping for the Fractal levels currently available (up to level 50).

It’s not accessible to anyone at this time.

Honest question to ANet: Why even bring the containers up into discussion about the upcoming patch if you are not going to implement them? Every single player was under the impression that containers would drop from 40+ fractals because those were considered ‘high’ pre-patch. Also weapon containers were the biggest selling point of the new fractals and the truth is just… depressing.

One bug I forgot to mention earier:

  • In the Molten boss fractal you randomly get hit by the airborne shockwaves even if you didn’t jump on them. I’ve had this happen to me a few times resulting in my death and I am 100% I didn’t jump or dodge into the wave or use a movement skill or anything like that.

The reading comprehension issues follow: As I said, you can’t know what kind of difficulty scaling they will add into the game and how the instabilities will affect the gameplay without playing it first, so can you stop your pointless ranting about atm-unexisting high level fractals being made easy?

This doesn’t matter. They reset our progress. It’s about equity. You seem to be jumping into this conversation pretty late, so I’d recommend reading previous posts from all the other people who argued the same thing before you rehash the same thing 20 times.

Another issue I forgot about before:
If you die and then equip some AR equipment while dead, the AR will not update, you’ll have to unequip every AR piece, then reequip them again for your AR to be counted right.

This, thousand times. The agony bug needs to be fixed asap because it also can happen when you swap between ascended and non-ascended weapons in combat.

Maybe because the instability at lvl 50 ticks 3 times 6% of your health every 10 seconds (with 65 AR) when in combat, thus making the fight way harder than the old 48.
Maybe you should just wait for ANet to add more levels+instabilities before jumping to your selfpitying conclusions about fractals made easy.

  • made pressure plates boot dead players from them
  • removed the pipes in the clown car room
  • removed the plank from behind the console, making it impossible to resurrect players from that side
  • added more dredge

While the rewards being very low is not a really a bug I’d still like to mention it here. It feels enormously discouraging to get much less fractal relics from the boss fractal now than pre-patch and equally irritating to get 1.4g from an hour long fractal 49 when a 7min CoF1 gives 1.26g.

Also a bug:

  • In the molten boss fractal the passive agony keeps reapplying if you go near the edges of the battlefield. Same thing happens in the Mai Trin boss fight.

I’d also like to know what the heck happened with zooming? In snowblind fractal you can zoom out to see half of the map when fighting the elemental source, but in Grawl and Jade Maw fractals you can’t zoom out almost at all, making grawl shaman lot more difficult and jade maw just annoying because as a norn you have to work to see the floating skull above your head when maw targets you.

Please fix maw and grawl, leave snowblind as is

Just a joke. Level 49 fractals give 1.4g gold when 9 minute AC p1 gives 1.5g? Infused rings no longer guaranteed and infused rings made weaker? Just ridiculous.

On top of that the most hated Dredge fractal was made even longer than it used to be by removing all the tricks we used before to be able to do it. Instead of removing all the tricks maybe the developers should think about why the players use certain tactics.

Title.

I’ve played the dredge fractal 2 times through now as warrior and there is something wonky about the mobs that spawn from the clown car in the Rabsovich room. I’ve used A Hundred Blades quite a few times and most often I only get 0-2 dmg pop-ups when using the skill on top of 10 dredge. They also don’t take damage which makes this already frustrating part take even longer after patch. Please have a look at this.
Weirdly enough the Whirlwind Attack damages all of them, but guildmates of mine complained that they experienced the same phenomena on thief and mesmer too.

Please have a look at this!

edit: despite title, there is no ‘invulnerable’ pop-up after the intial invulnerability, I just get no pop-ups as if the skill wasn’t hitting them at all.

what bagel said….I too have recently learnt that ascended items vs exotics in wvw have hidden systems in place to balance the margin between ascended and exotic far more closer than it actually appears " apparently " lets assume that ISN’T true….we talking about? +4 of a stat? +5 of a stat? aka power instead of agony resistance? Seems futile to bother in my personal opinion, besides don’t forget….the only way to true progress fractals will be to have AR in ALL slots so we talking kitten-60-70 AR etc etc.

Is there any proof of anything you just said? Ascended weapons have ~5% better stats than the exotic ones and the total dps increase is only 1-2% which is highly insignificant. And in zerg fights u can assume the enemy zerg to have as many ascended weapons as you do so whats all the complaining about ascended weapons about?

About fractals and AR – kitten rvers as training wheels anyway, excluding the boss fractals’ passive agony you can survive fractals with 0 AR just fine.

Redundant Ascended Gear

I have complete sets of ascended gear for WvW and PvE. My primary concern with the WvW infusions was the guard components

so i guess i’m just left to delete my pve ascended gear. GG anet

The change to ascended gear means that my infused pieces now have an AR slot and a stat slot meaning my now redundant set of non infused gear is more or less useless and takes up space.

I don’t understand this logic AT ALL.
non-ascended trinkets – nothing happens
ascended trinkets – innate 5 AR of the item will be removed and replaced with an AR infusion slot that initially holds a 5 AR infusion but can potentially hold stronger AR infusions.
Could you explain how the change renders your set useless?

Another stupid alliance, this time also breaking lore by doing something that would never, ever happen. Again this annoying possessed mad sociopath who thinks she knows more than anyone but only gives headaches.

Just make her open some portal to a demon realm thinking she’ll control them and get her killed by them when she can’t control them or something, and be done with it. I don’t mind if the demons go and swarm the entire world.

I’d rather fight an army of a million grasps of insanity and scythes of chaos than have to deal with her again.

She was interesting for one story, but we had way too much of her by now. Go back to the REAL Guild Wars lore and stop making up stuff and destroying the story and the lore by making everything centered around her.

Lol, imo having Krait be xenophobic regardless of situation would be bad writing. It might have been justified when they were the master race of the unending ocean but now that they are forced on land and lakes would be smart to form alliances when there is something to benefit from. Think about it, it would be really insulting towards the Krait intelligence if they didn’t see any pros in teaming up with anyone ever.
Even the NPC’s in the game are wondering about this unexpected turn of events, so maybe you should have some patience too for the whole story to unravel instead of jumping to conclusions that ‘this bad because it just can’t be period’.

And ‘having a lot of Scarlet’, there has been 1 event where she was present and 1 with holograms. Not exactly much, I’m actually waiting for her to show up again

Scarlet is great imo, but I’d like to see some character development in her soonish, I wish she would be getting a little bit serious. I can understand the teenager mentality as she must be feeling pretty omnipotent and free to do whatever she wants after seeing the eternal alchemy. However as her plans have been foiled a few times alrdy she should be getting more serious and more concerned about her plans succeeding.

No it doesn’t, I just checked the rate and 800 gems needed for a fancy new armor set costs exactly 56g, that is less than 50% of a full T3 cultural armor set without the need for transmutation crystals.

I also think that if the infamous Infinite Continue Coin was just available from Moto for 30g nobody would have complained, instead most ppl went haywire complaining about Anet’s p2w philosophy when all they had to was to use the converter to get the gems needed to buy the weapon.

This item is bugged:

- I have a few of these in my inventory but I can’t sell them on the TP. It shows up on my sellable items list, but when I click on it and the sidepanel opens there are no fields for pricing, highest/lowest etc.

- I have a buy order for this item for a few of these but I can’t remove it. I click on the remove -button but nothing happens

- If you search for this item in the TP you will find it, but you can’t purchase it or place orders, see point 1.

Why was Karma income nerfed by ~90%?

Dear Anet,

I understand that the general consensus among players and developers was that Karma was too trivial, next-to-useless excluding Obsidian Shards and way too easy to get and turn into gold. This certainly warranted some changes, but why did you took away a lion’s share of the pot? There certainly was a middle ground between present and previous states:

- Daily now gives 600 karma instead of the 5 000 from a jug
- Monthly now gives 6 000 karma instead of 50 000 from the 10 jugs
- Dungeon and champion karma rewards gutted
- failed event karma gain removed.
The karma income numbers above from previous patch were the bare minimum: with karma modifiers that daily 5000 could almost double.

The increase in karma item’s content is highly insignificant as there are almost no sources left that even give karma consumables. The aspect of this whole matter that baffles me the most is that you combine this huge change with an increased need for karma in form of the obsidian shards being used for high level crafting. May I ask, what is your goal here?

Also another important point is that the legendary crafting is bottlenecked by karma income. One million karma is an enormous amount to spend and if a player earns 3k-5k karma per day without running braindead karma trains it will be a major point of frustration for all the active legendary crafters.

I beg you for a minute of your time to clarify the reasonings behind karma changes to the community.

Did you even read what I typed? Nerfing something by 90+% is absolutely ridiculous, no matter what the subject is. I could argue that the nerf was over 95% because most people hoarded karma consumables and could get ~75% more karma from a consumable than the original value. This is arenanet killing a fly with an AA turret and Anet needs to address this.

- yes karma was pretty trivial, but you don’t solve the problem by just cutting the supply. Simply making consumables unaffected by modifiers would have affected the total karma income by lot. I’m also behind the failed event karma removal, as it incentivizes completing events. Daily reward changes were way over the top, same for dungeon reward cuts. People who only do party content are pretty screwed now.
- If karma-to-gold schenanigans with Orrian jewelry boxes was the problem then why not nerf the karma rewards within the boxes? though this problem could also have been remedied by simply making karma consumables unaffected by modifiers.
- legendaries take forever to farm now without mindless karma trains (which is glaringly against Anet’s design code). I can earn about 2000-4000 karma per day now including daily if I play for 6 hours. Gee that is enough for almost 2 obsidian shards, that a legendary requires ~500 of. I don’t think it is Anet’s intention to force legendary crafters to grind 250 hours for the shards only.
- while essentially cutting the supply of karma completely Anet even introduced a new karma sink in form of Obi shards being used for ascended crafting. This makes absolutely no sense to me.

Karma in its previous availability was a joke agreed, but Anet went to extreme measures. I’m waiting for a clarification on the changes and possible fixes.
