I’ve never seen anyone talk about the torch for PvE so I was wondering if it actually has any use.

I pretty much like all of them, but I feel like there has to be a set that sticks out as the most viable. I’m doing some research though, thanks for the replies

Hi all, is there a good build/guideline that you have used or that you have heard is good for PvE leveling? I’ve heard that Mesmer is underpowered in lower levels so hopefully there is a good build that you know that can make up for it. If you can explain it or link it it would be very nice thank you ! (I haven’t looked in forums at all so if there is another page that is similar you can link that)

Is there anything else? Conditionmancer is good but it’s getting boring… Is there any other build? Perhaps involving the axe or daggers? Please link a build If you know of one, that’s would be awesome

I am having trouble getting rewards for most dynamic events. Other profs like warrior just go in and kill everything before I can get off clones to shatter or phantasms… I am still quite low level so I was wondering if this continues in later levels or if it gets better with traits, or if it’s just something I’ll have to deal with… Thanks!

I’m on the same boat :/ I can’t choose for the life of me. I have a 31 ranger and thief, and a 26 necro, and an 11 engineer… None of the other ones seem interesting to me except Mesmer but it felt so underwhelming

You could have posted another thread, said your opinion or not said anything at all. This is just unnecessary. The people who wanted to answer answered and the people who didn’t said nothing. I just needed some more information on the subject and didn’t want to dig through old threads or look somewhere else online. I would rather hear from first hand experiences.

Strictly PvE, I want to know about the Mesmers viability and versatility, whether it be for hearts or dungeon groups. I’ve checked out the Mesmer in the mists and found an underwhelming amount of weapon skills and seemingly useless utility and elite skills. PLEASE prove me wrong, for the love of god. I always get class envy when I see Mesmers in groups, but when I hop on one they seem quite dry :/

I am not trying to bash the profession or anything like that, and I know I have barely even gotten my foot in the door when It comes to mechanics and skills so please tell me some good things!

I’m hoping someone comes and saves the day haha. I love the axe 2 skill so much and I want to use it kitten

Is the axe any good for general PvE? And if so is there any builds for it? What off hand would I use with the axe and what would I use in my other set. Just wondering if anyone even uses it because all I see is that it is underpowered. Sometimes I just want some

Hi all, I’m sure there have been many posts about which profession to play and this kind of is one but a little different. I would like to hear why you like to play your chosen class and what makes it stand out for you. I am hoping to have an epiphany of sorts and then finally be able to decide or at least get a jumping off point. Please don’t say just play what you enjoy, because I enjoy them all! Thank you!

This is very frustrating, I don’t think they should have to be summoned every time there is a loading screen. Its especially annoying when there is a dynamic event and I have to summon them and miss it/get silver.

Torn between Necro and Mesmer, I love condition builds and already have a 20 Necro and a 9 Mesmer, just cant decide which to go with. Post some cool things you do with your Mesmer or some cool builds. Just want to see some opinions and some cool situations/builds. Thanks!

My necro is amazing, the condition damage is unstoppable… I don’t think a buff is necessary. Most of these updates were for bug fixes for the classes anyways.

Wanted to see if the Necro is any good for PvE, all I see is complaining but Im not sure if it is specific to PvP or not. I leveled one to around level 10ish and I understand that is not enough to understand the profession, but from what I saw he was underwhelming damage wise. Please don’t yell at me if you think the opposite or something, I just hope you give me some good answers because Necro seems really cool

I see many complaints that eles are weak, but I wasn’t sure if it was PvE or PvP… Or both. I really want to play this class cause it looks fun/challenging. Thanks.

@Almond Most annoying thing ever. You sound like a WoW player. Your saying that dungeons and map exploration is boring/grinding? Honestly this grinds my gears so much. A lot of WoW players are complaining that getting gear with looks isn’t enough. I really don’t understand. The stats at 80 are balanced so they don’t matter, and DPS Isn’t a mechanic of the game so stats basically become arbitrary numbers.

Can you guys posts builds or suggest some good areas to put my trait points, I want a good mix of toughness and condition damage. Thanks

I think the Zerg will fissile out as time progresses and people start to understand how it works. People need to get out of the kill, kill, kill mindset and I think that will happen soon

Does anyone know if capes will be introduced? I see a cape/back slot in the “H” menu so I was wondering if they come up later in the game or not.

Legendary gear? New storyline choices, 7 more classes, 4 more races, 100% map completion, WvW, random champion spawns, crafting, jump puzzles, hidden Easter eggs… Just because you got 100% map completion doesn’t mean you’ve seen everything… Or just wait for more content!

On another note how are people at 80? Just how? i’ve put like 20 hours into my level 27 thief

If I got back and do hearts in low levels will the karma rewards scale to my actual lever?

I just want know how people are level 80 already. Now before you start I understand that the game is not about getting level cap, its about enjoying the ride. I’m totally aware and I love that, but I feel like I’ve been in the grove for like a week and i’m starting to get sick of it, I want to start doing dungeons and getting into some cool areas. So level 80 folks can you share your secrets?

The game is designed in that you are supposed to DODGE the hits! No one is supposed to be able to get hit, no one can tank.

What else do you do with gear in WoW except sit in Oggrimmar and jump around until the raid resets? Then what? It is literally the same thing just without stats.

I wanna hear why you like playing the Thief. What makes you want to go back on and play some more! I just need a little push to finally decide. I wanna join the club…

Thank you this helped a lot, I am leaning towards Mesmer because I like the fact that no one plays/really understands them. Coming from GW1 I know a lot about them and I love the theatric lore that they have. Thief seems kind of dry and repetitive since its used in literally every other game ever created. I always pull to thief though in almost every game. Hopefully I will get more replies!

So I’ve basically played all the classes now and I’ve narrowed it down to Thief or a Mesmer. I really can’t decide! So if you could help me by telling some of the reasons that you like one of the classes that would be greatly appreciated! Mesmer at lower level seems very weak to me but I’ve heard that the damage gets better as you level. Also I feel like with the Thief all the mechanics are introduced with in the first 10 levels. So please prove me wrong with either class! I just cant decide!

I have basically tried all the classes now and I have found that mesmers put out a seriously low amount of damage, at least at the lower levels. I am hoping to hear that with trait points or something they get better, I played mesmer in GW1 and it was one of my favorites for sure. I am really drawn to their unique play style and the amount of skill they require but I noticed that when I spawn a clone they hit for 0 damage and the phantasms only attack like once. So someone please tell me they get better and do more damage or something because it takes forever to kill mobs and I really want to play one. Thanks
