But DH sure likes to run hacks. That’s why our FC night/morning crew is beating up on them so badly and leaving DR alone. We’re going to continue to do it too so long as they continue to cheat.

Go ahead and deny using hacks, but we both know that isn’t true. One of your commanders even admitted to us while in a party but said they didn’t know who it was. Enjoy 3rd place, that’s where we intend to put you before Frikitten

, ok? Even if you say that, it’s not like we know who it is. But go ahead and take your anger out on us as much as you want, you guys. Just because one Commander, who we probably never seen before, is using hacks doesn’t mean “Darkhaven” as a whole is using them. But like I said goodluck with your crusade, little man.

I’m sure FC has its share of hackers too, but I’m not sure I’ve seen it on quite so large a scale as we’ve seen in this mathcup, that’s for sure.

Whole guilds setting up 5-10 arrow carts and using LOS exploits. Reporting commanders so they can’t use chat. Logging to avoid stomps. Roaming groups flickering around? It’s quite excessive.

If the flanking requirement is removed they’d have to change something about the bleed duration or about the attack speed otherwise crossfire will be OP.

Drop it to 2 seconds.

This makes me SO kitten angry. It’s like a joke. They buff already strong classes and give us crap. They don’t fix broken mechanics or trait lines and make changes that don’t matter.

Did you see how much time they spent talking about Rangers? Like 25% of every other class.

It’s a malicious joke.

Patience. I’ll be right there with you at 12:30est this afternoon as I don’t expect much. But at the very least give ANet the benefit of the doubt (even though we have a year of experience telling us why they don’t deserve it) and wait till the full notes are made available.

I bet that outside of W3, nobody will choose “Sick Em’!” for new reveal. I mean, that’s good for people already using it but I can easily fill up my utility with something more helpful.

I wouldn’t expect many to choose it in WvW either. It’s a dueling/roaming skill and won’t have any use 90% of the time.

I was really hoping they’d make some changes to increase the group value of this class. Right now it’s a strong 1v1 class and goes down hill exponentially from there. Given some of the changes they mentioned for the other classes and how they felt they didn’t offer enough group utility I can’t believe nothing was mentioned on the Ranger.

It’s been months since any balance changes at all in this game. Tomorrow’s notes had better have a lot more instore for this class.

Not that impressed with Sic ‘Em to be honest. It’s just more roaming changes for a class that is already a reasonably strong roamer. We need some hardcore group utility changes.

Especially given all the changes they’re making to the other classes based off that preview.

Point of order: some thief skills are directional.

I meant in order to apply a condition. But yes, the ‘from stealth’ moves have a directional requirement.

It already has more damage than longbow at everything but max range. Really the only thing Shortbow needs is to lose the directional requirement to apply bleed to the target. No other class has a directional requirement and in most cases those classes have a longer lasting bleed to offset the fact that shortbow fires so quickly.

Now it would be nice to give the weapon something extra so it didn’t feel like such a passive weapon, but I don’t know what they could scrap given how strong all the utility options for the bow currently are.

Better to probably give this class a skill on a short cooldown that does something unique for each main hand weapon that’s equipped.

So... should we all be exploiting now?

I’m on the back wall of the lords room in hills. The enemy builds 5 arrow carts outside of the lords room along the circular entry way outside the tunnel to the left. They can see neither the tunnel leading to lords room or the arrow carts that are back there.

Their arrow carts managed to hit every square inch of the lords room despite being outside and to the side with no possible LOS.

Eyefinity? Hack? Exploit? You tell me…

At this point should we all just be using Arrow Cart hacks? It’s a complete waste of time playing this game at this point otherwise. Given this has been a problem for months without any improvement or comment, is it safe to presume this is approved by ANet?

Well to be honest we tried to blob in EBG last night with CoSA and everyone realized it was a kittenty tactic. 20 players isnt a blob and stacking is not blobbing. You may have your terms confused.

But the truth is: DH, SF and FC should just merge into one server, we are awaiting your transfer.

You’re making the assumption that I meant 20 players as a blob and that the max amount of players SF has attempting an objective is 20 players. We both know that SF uses and has used more than 20 players to attempt an objective (not saying always but that it occurs just like it occurs in FC and every other server).

If you think that FC only uses blobs to take objectives, then you are poorly mistaken. There’s much more communication and coordination involved. The fact that we are within 500 points should prove that to you.

That’s basically my point, you should be 50k ahead of us by now, at the very least. You have greater numbers way more often than us, much much much better comms, slightly less organization in your groups. And correct me if I’m wrong, but you also don’t have other guilds worried that one guild is trying to run the whole server. Here we have guilds like StaR looking to xfer off because of the lack of trust and comms.

We might have greater numbers than you in some small area you’re pvping at the moment, but that’s not the case across all 4 maps. Just last night SF was popping swords everywhere they went in FC BL while it took us about 1 hour to get equal numbers.

I’m also confident we would be ahead of SF and DH if we didn’t have a coverage issue. The past 2 nights were the same thing… go to bed, wake up 10k behind. Regain about 5k, only to wake up 15k behind. FC doesn’t have a large night time playerbase. Every night we lose every point in every BL. Several hours of this and it’s no wonder SF gains a lead.

You really need to take the above posters advice and simply acknoweldge that zergs exist on all sides. Guilds don’t sit in spawn afk for hours waiting for 50+ to log on. Zergs don’t even run as full groups of 50+ 99.9% of the time. That we’re pretty evenly matched given the current score and you should greatful to be having as much fun as you are.

The group I saw in FC bl were met by a sea of red and were dispatched quickly and sure as hell didn’t trigger swords, we were 12. Maybe DH is whom you’re confusing us with, they did take your bay after all.

I haven’t been following this conversation. I haven’t a clue who you are or what guild you represent. But the groups from SF involved last night from about 8-9:30 (just pushed you out of FC and we went to do our guild events) was made of mostly of STAR and PvP iirc. The DH group showed up after you all left of LORD I believe was the guild? Can’t remember.

But no, was SF for about 1-2 hours trying to take hills and the back and forth between the southern towers. DH showed up much later and not in anywhere near as many numbers. SF popped orange swords everywhere they went.

When StaR was there, I can guarantee you that DH was there too as StaR quit because some other guilds on SF attacked DH on their side of the map. Also, StaR is wanting to quit SF because of things like that happening on a daily basis. Also, while StaR was there, there were no orange swords. When they showed up, its how we knew they were getting wiped.

Don’t know what to tell you. They were up everywhere you went. As I said, it wasn’t just star, so maybe you had 12-15 star there and 10+ of the others (including up levels etc, as a couple of them existed too). But orange was up everywhere.

I guess the solution is to start frapsing everything. I’ll be sure to take screenshots of meaningless crap like some of the others here.

Ranged and melee on the fly weapon swaps

This has been a large complaint of mine for awhile now. I play lb+gs, but run into the same problem because once you’ve used swoop+hilt+maul you’re stuck in a pretty terrible weapon overall until the swap or maul cooldowns come back up.

I don’t necessarily think I like your solution to it. If they added swoop to your list on skills that reset the swap timer, that would be fine with me. But I think overall just giving us a trait to cut the swap timer by 50% similar to how warriors work would be better.

I didn’t so much mind the story, but I looked at it more as a leveling tool than an introduction to the world and its history. I certainly don’t care enough to restrict me from changing my character race.

This game is nothing but murder barbie. When you get to 80 and find out Charr look absolutely dreadful in every single piece of gear in the game aside from cultural heavy armor. Or your female sylvari will show her spinal column in every piece of light armor it’s aggrivating.

Makeover kits should change race, appearance, and name :/

The issue I have is classes that shouldn’t have high mobility are instead the most mobile classes in the game. I mean can any class catch a Warrior? Maybe a Thief, but even that’s pushing it.

They need to make badges more valuable.

Why aren’t more skins made available via badges?
Why can’t we buy PvP oriented food and oil buffs with badges?
Why can’t we buy laurels with badges?

they want to make bloodlust meaningful and not have as large an impact on things? Leave the stomp mechanic as players are fine with that. But make vendors available that have more and more items depending on how many stacks of bloodlust you have.

Each bloodlust you have will spawn a vendor. 1 will give you access to a vendor with weapon skins (like the PvE dungeons skins for example). 2 will give you access to a vendor with armor skins (again, PvE dungeon skins). 3 will give you access to the food and oils, and laurels.

If you want to add more ‘skill’ to this, make the vendors spawn in SMC.

Anyone ever played Shadowbane? In shadowbane, in order to hurt a structure, players would need to use siege equipment just like here. However, if a player wanted to harm a structure themselves, they would need to equip hand-held siege weapons. Hammers, flaming arrows, etc. These weapons did great damage to structures but barely hurt players at all. This put the players at risk because they needed to be defended from enemy players just like siege because they couldn’t defend themselves.

The same thing should happen here. Hand-held siege weapons should need to be equipped here. They would take up all 4 weapon slots so you couldn’t just swap to your other weapon when enemies showed up. This way players actually had some kind of risk when meleeing down a door. If they didn’t have adequate scouts and the enemy zerg found them before they had time to equip their normal weapons, they didn’t stand a chance.

If this was done here, it would help slow things down and put more accountability on the players themselves.

The "I play as i want " rangers

As if the Ranger is the only one who does this. You have Necromancers using conditions in dungeons, Warriors using GS exclusively instead of Axe and swapping only for 100b, etc etc. There’s nothing wrong with playing how you want to play so long as you aren’t a detriment to the group. The difference in DPS may be noticeable, but in the grand scheme of things we’re talking about a difference of only minutes being added on to your clear time.

This is GW2, the most casual of MMO’s. This isn’t WoW where every single last spec of DPS must be maximized or you’re not going to clear new content.

I understand your complaint. I’m a very strict min/maxer myself. But there’s nothing wrong with the above scenario and you have no one to blame but yourself for PUGing to begin with.

I strongly suggest you put these ‘what do you want to see’ type of threads in appropriate forums. Part of the problem in the past has been class forums are completely ignored so players are forced to air class issues in the sPvP forum because that’s the only one you visit.

If you’re going to make threads, make class specific ones in each forum. WvW one in the WvW forum. sPvP in the sPvP. And so forth. Otherwise we’ll all just be fighting amongst ourselves in a single thread. ‘Im not overpowered, you are!’ stuff.

Could always make bloodlust controlled vendors.

Each bloodlust spawns a vendor.

One vendor sells you weapon skins from the PvE dungeons.
Second vendor sells you armor skins from the PvE dungeons.
Third vendor sells you high level food, oils, and you can by laurels.
Each vendor uses only badges for currency.

For added measure, make the highest ranking vendor spawn in SMC.

I agree with you op, but it won’t change. At the very least, the skill shouldn’t be blockable. If they ever make remorseless a useful trait, it could end up being quite overpowered if hunter’s shot had a 100% chance to stealth.

While the comments are appreciated, many players in this game play it for the PvP (both PvP and WvW) and you’ve let that community down. I know it’s silly having a player complain about content being released too often, but that’s kind of what’s happening here. Each thing you release is available for a short period of time, so players want to experience it all right away. To do this they alienate the other areas of the game because there’s nothing that involves them.

On top of this we’re going on 3 months now with absolutely no class changes whatsoever. Yes yes, I know, next week. But you have a thread with nearly 2k posts in it and only a single response from ANet with any meaningful content. This patch has got to be finalized at this point and there’s no reason for so little information to have reached the players. Especially after 3 months of waiting.

You come and tell us a teaser video is available Friday, but we’ve been ‘teased’ by you guys a lot over the last few months and they’re often underwhelming. It’s funny, but the only thing I really look forward to were the monthly SotG podcasts which have dried up.

I have no idea how many players play PvE exclusively vs WvW exclusively etc. I’d like to think that any overlap between the playerbase favors WvW though, but I couldn’t tell you. All I know is the PvP (PvP + WvW) community has been let down big time for 3 months now. No information has come out. Bloodlust is a bust. No class or balance changes in months. etc.

This is all strictly my opinion, obviously. And sorry for venting etc.

Just put time stamps on the combat log and allow us to parse the combat log. Let players do the rest. It’s not too much to ask. The system already has the time stamps. It’s not going to increase server load at all.

It’s supposed to do so Atherakhia. On successfull melee block, it kick the target, knocking it back for 300. Problem is, animation is very slow and you still take damage while performing kick ability. Either make it faster or give it evade for duration of kick animation.
As for 100b or pistol whip…I believe it does knock attacker off, however due to long cast time, you still take damage from these skills during the animation. Never seen any other issue with this skill.

SB range too low

The range on shortbow isn’t a problem. Yes, the weapon is less useful now. Yes, eagle eye should be changed to affect shortbow.

The real issue with the shortbow range adjustment is how it’s the same as the Axe and how the two weapons are so similar in function.

The thing you all need to do is find a way to make the Shortbow and Axe feel like different and equally viable weapons. Couldn’t care less if you change the bow or the axe.

You need to tell us how you want to play before we can tell you how to get better. Any weapon is ‘viable’ if using the right spec. Few specs have overlap between weapons.

Do you want a power build? A condition build? A bow build? A melee build? Do you want to PvE? Do you want to WvW? Do you want to sPvP? Do you want to tank? Do you want to dps?

Can’t help you without knowing more about what you’re planning to do.

Please reduce or dilute the ZERG.

I was not aware zerging prevented anything. Sounds more like people want the game changed to focus on THEIR preferred playstyle because they cannot or do not want to adapt themselves.

It’s a punishment because people keep coming up with various penalties to massive grouping, like in this very thread. Trying to discourage a playstyle because o.m.g. not enough people play the way they want to play WvW.

It sounds like you want the game not to change because it focuses on YOUR preferred playstyle because you cannot or do not want to adapt.

Zerging has been, is, and forever will be the primary strategy to any and all PvP content in any MMO. This is the first that uses it to the near exclusion of everything else though. It’s also the only one where ANet appears to be deliberately designing the game to enforce zerging.

WvW need more Objectives!!

They should redesign EB to an even more literal Y shape. Each server is at the end of each point in the Y. You shouldn’t be able to attack structures in the enemy’s lane unless your entire lane is defended. You could make objectives (or just supply camps) throughout these zones and if the opposing team owns any of these objectives, you can’t claim an enemy structure (you can still siege it and kill the lord, just can’t take it over) until you’ve gone back to reinforce your supply lines.

Something as simple as forcing servers to defend what they take or they can’t take more would solve a lot of the zerging problems.

Please reduce or dilute the ZERG.

The zerging is ANets fault. They designed a WvW system that requires no real strategy or effort. There’s no linear control method forcing players to defend ground they take for example. There’s no incentive to defend at all for that matter. On top of this they design the whole game around low count AE and a reliance on buffs that revolve around small circles on the ground. Healing in particular reinforces the zerg mentality because you need to stay balled up to get outside heals.

Simply changing the map layout and ruleset to force players to defend places they took over so they can continue attacking towers and keeps deeper into enemy lines would solve a lot of the zerging problems.

While I enjoy the close fights on Fergs right now, it’s still aggrivating with the way coverage works out. I feel like all 3 of our ‘prime times’ aren’t at the same time. SF still owns the early morning, DH still owns the early afternoon, FC owns the late night.

They really need to find someway to put less emphasis on PPT and more on sieging and defending locations. This way coverage means nothing and players are rewarded for the work they do. No reason attacking an empty keep and holding it from nobody should be rewarded just as heavily as defending a keep from attackers for 3 hours straight.

What we need are fast, agile ‘skimmers’ that do no damage to players but provide CC and high damage to golems. Golem rushing is getting out of hand and 2 cannons aren’t enough to counter them all and they’re too easily killed. Balista are great, but don’t have good arc of fire once they’re on the door. Other siege is ineffective.

Being able to pilot skimmers that attack from another entrance and take out golems could be fun. Give them a vector engine attack so they can fly through zergs knocking everyone down/out of the way, tow cables to pull golems away from a keep so balista can hurt them, etc.

If they’re going to do something like this they should verify if server population is what’s claimed. I have a hard time believe every single US server is high population. FC, AR, DR are ghost towns in PvE and WvW.

You are using power weapons with condition gear. And running power traits with condition gear. And you’re squishy as kitten, while not doing the damage a full zerker would do to compensate. Focus on either power or conditions.

So what should I do? Change out my sigils for more damage? Or should I just get a whole new set of gear since I’ll still be squishy.

Step #1: Decide how you want to play. Do you want to be condition focused or power focused?

Step #2: Decide on your goal. Do you want to be more tanky or do more damage? You’ll need to decide how much armor you’ll want for example. Most people suggest 2800-3000 for WvW.

For some reason they thought it a good idea to put a coordinated raid fight in open world. Lol.

Pretty much. If you’re going to put a fight like this in the open world it needs to be balanced around a much smaller number of people doing it. Like 20. Certainly not 80.
