First off, T1 has been a 2v1 against Blackgate since we got there, seeing as SoR still have pent up aggression toward us for maplocking them repeatedly in T2 during the BGvsSoRvsIoJ match.

Call someone’s opinion uneducated, then proceed to complain about 2v1 in a game designed around each and every server being 2v1’d.

Classic.

Here’s a brief history lesson regarding the current T1 matchup.

Blackgate beat SoR for 11 weeks straight when they were in T2… Now that Blackgate is in T1 with SoR, they’ve beaten them again for 2 more weeks which makes the record 13-0. Of course there is going to be quite a bit of animosity from SoR since they’ve never beaten Blackgate and if you haven’t checked the NAT1 thread lately, they’re ecstatic with their lead they have on us since it’s something new for them.

JQ on the other hand knows that they can man-handle SoR and holds Blackgate as the biggest threat which makes the choice easy on who to target.

Summary:
SoR know’s they can’t beat JQ but might be able to get their first win on Blackgate.
JQ know’s that Blackgate is the biggest threat and has the potential to take 1st.

Now I’m not at all saying that Blackgate is being 2v1’d because it is of course WvWvW, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were the primary focus of both the SoR & JQ servers.

Most impressive improvement: Kaineng. They went from a server nobody-cared-about to the top tier. You can almost make a film that depicts this tremendous journey.

Major disappointment: Blackgate (or SoSgate) has the potential of dethroning Jade Quarry but seems unable to keep the momentum going.

First off, T1 has been a 2v1 against Blackgate since we got there, seeing as SoR still have pent up aggression toward us for maplocking them repeatedly in T2 during the BGvsSoRvsIoJ match. Then they got lucky with the rating change and shot to T1 despite having no legitimate reason to be there. The past 2 weeks have been Blackgate vs Sanctum of Jade (or Quarry of Rall, your choice), and it’s not even remotely fun.

Secondly, Kaineng is the product of numerous T1 and T2 guilds server transferring before the paid transfers were implemented in order to stack a server and stomp the lower tiers for their own circle-jerking amusement. It is less of a “tremendous journey” and more of “giving a third-world country advanced weaponry and tactics, but only letting the foreigners that brought the weapons use them.”

The grand irony is that T1 will actually be good again once Kaineng kicks SoR out.

SOR shot up to 2nd place in tier 1, and proceeded to beat SOS…. ( not the first week, but the weeks after that). So our place in tier 1 was correct.

And stop whining about 2v1 in a three way battle everywhere you go.

The immaturity level of the SoR community is astounding.

The only thing SoR manages to win is third place, just like last week & the week before that… I’ve gotta give it to you though, you do have a strong weekend warrior crew largely composed of 12-17 y/o gamers which is why you aren’t able to perform up to T1 standards during the weekday and probably why your server doesn’t get any transfers. The whole being mushed into 1 huge zerg ball bouncing from map to map together is a pretty good strat for your server, really shows your all about quantity over quality.

(P.S. that post is probably the most mature comment I’ve seen coming from an SoR player, especially the “wambulance” part; lol very classy. Keep up the good fights kids.)

Oh so Blackgate beat us purely because of skill and not coverage? Keep patting yourself on the back…. and just pretend that 80% of SOS didnt transfer to BG.

SOR you have a thief on your server that is hacking and flipping an EB tower, Longor gulch to be precise. Now before all the ohh you did not memser sweep or it was a flash golom rush we have it being flip with people sitting in the tower.

Yea we know, this guy has struck before a few weeks back when SOS was here. We dont know who he is but he is on during oceanic primetime and usually hits the back towers in EB or the spawn towers.

If you can manage to grab a screenshot and get in touch with someone on SOR we would greatly appreciate it. Though we didnt know it was a thief…. any bit of extra info you guys can get would help us catch him.

Someone from SOR most likely has a spy on BG building random trebs to use up supply. Durios is currently under attack by SOR— they built a treb and are now firing off at sm despite the fact that we have catas hitting Durios. Pretty lame of you SOR. I had allot of respect for you guys and I know one person doesn’t represent all of your server, but cheating to win is a big dent in your cred from my perspective.

Im not on Kain, but i have been following their wvw threads as possible future competition. I must say that i have never seen their members act kitteny. They always kept their calm despite the ridiculous crap thrown their way on the forums.

Seems like a great wvw community and hopefully one day i can get the chance to kill some of you

VOTF seems like the kind of guild that immensley enjoys gvg combat ( and who can blame them, it is BY FAR the most important and prestigious of situations to be in during wvw.

Their possible destinations:

1) BG, already has a strong euro presence ( VOTF may face queues and their impact will be relatively small) but has many of their allies from SOS there as well.
2) JQ seems like a no go for them. Long time enemies etc.
3) EU server… they would just be part of their regular primetimes and deal with qeues.
4) Kain… good choice, but they still wont get the gvg that i believe they are looking for.
5) SOR… i believe the best choice for them. They will be greatly appreciated here for their contributions AND face BG/JQ euro in tier 1 to satisfy their gvg.

I also agree with a previous poster that VOTF is the jewel of the SOS crown. In any case, good luck to them and gratz to whichever server is lucky to get them.

Not just because I am on SOR, but also for the overall wvw health, i believe VOTF’s next home should be SOR. Also, im ukrainian so i can finally chat with someone…

Im personally reading it to keep tabs on BG and Kain. To be honest, most posts from TC just clog up the thread with useless banter and nonsense about dolyaks. I understand you guys try to be silly or whatever but it paints your server as not being serious about wvw.

@Kaineng. Great work guys in your first match in tier 2. Blackgate is a VERY strong and able opponent. I hope that your wvw community sees this as a victory and not a loss.

Now you will have to come together as a server and face the tier 2 grinder for many weeks. SOR did and made us much stronger.

We would like to apologize to JQ and SOS… seems there is a hacker right now on SOR randomly flipping enemy towers. We dont know who it is unfortunately but as soon as we are able to get a screenshot etc. we will report it to ANET ASAP.

We will not be defending these points that were taken this way so please take them back.

Any information you guys may have please help us catch this guy. He seems to hit shortly before a point tick during Oceanic primetime into late oceanic so keep your eyes peeled if you can. A screenshot would help us identify him.

Needless to say it was a great joy spawn camping them to the extreme ( trebs, ballistas, shame ram trains and barricades). I can trully understand why FA detests TC so much now that i’ve played against them.

Oddly, the first time SOR faced them, i dont recall them being this way.

Oh, so thats where your guild was. PiNK ran into most of the real guilds like CHOO, FEAR and TW but I guess we didn’t spend enough time around the spawn area to see if you guys we’re any good. Hopefully we’ll notice you next time.

As a member of SoR, I just want to commend the fight TC has put up in the face of overwhelming forces. Peak NA time is really a nice place to play right now. TC has learned how to retake keeps very well and how to keep the zerg at bay long enough to take towers. Even if a tower is flipped, that’s still a loss of all upgrades to the defending team.

Some people would say that the battles would be boring due to the score and it can be demoralizing but I think every keep retake and every tower retake, no matter how short lived, is a victory because you are taking on a larger force. I remember that from when BG was in T2. Your strategies are coming together and I think it will help you for who ever you fight from now on.

Have fun guys. You are doing great and for the next 24 hours, I will enjoy our fights and wish you the best in taking us on.

Give it a chance. We’ll see what happens next week. If you are really hardcore with competition, this shouldn’t bother you at all. Why? Because you know you’ll still end up at tier 1 eventually.

And what’s good is you get to fight more even maches; so there will be no facerolling, but using of good strategy.

relax people…. this is only temporary… yes whichever servers blow out in the next match up will be in upper tiers in the week after that, but the situation will come back to where it is now after a month… we can wait a month can’t we ?

Also, i highly suspect that alot of the players in favor of this idea are from the lower tiers and have absolutely no clue about the scale of population differences. What lower tiers may call a huge zerg of 10-15 people, the upper tier have that many escorting yaks sometimes.

Do you guys really want to be fighting a server that can field that many numbers? Do you really want to fight guilds that run in 50 man “zergs” , except that they are actually organized with more than 1 such guild in each borderland almost 24/7? Can’t wait to see the flood of tears.

Tonight was the first time i have ever questioned the long term viability of this game. It took us a few minutes in our guild’s vent to realize just how terrible this idea was and yet professional game developers are actually going to go through with this? And on top of that a major change such as this is being implemented with no player feedback.

Games will simply not survive in the long run when they implement huge bone headed changes without any player feedback.

Simply put, a system that has a chance of placing sanctum of rall in tier 8 is clearly not going to work out well. I hope that the developers at least realized to add in some kind of rating coefficient to smooth out relative changes based on tiers or something. If not then lol.

Probably because we dont want to be lollersk8te roflstomping weak servers for who knows how long in the coming months to get back to a tier we already belong in. Things will pretty much end up exactly as they are now, all they did was add weeks of boring wvw.

The funny thing is that next week will probably be one of the more balanced wvw weeks we have seen for a very long time.

To that TC group in EB at around 12noon eastern, that made it behind the lines and tapping gates at various towers to throw us off gaurd….

We weren’t fooled for one second. We calmly sent 1 person to scout each place with white swords just in case, while I tailed you guys. In addition, we already had scouts in place in advance of your next possible destination. Thats how we caught you at Anzalias.

Atleast you tried though, but the current situation in EB would require a massive effort to even gain a foothold.

arrowcart or ballista them. i prefer carts since there are a few sneaky spots to drop them. ballista is easy to spot. this may take a few attempts.

Simple fact. When things got rough for SoR, we didn’t bail en mass. We learned to respect each other, especially a solid core of our commanders, and we learned a lot about the strengths and weaknesses of our various guilds and how to turn that to our advantage. There are legitimate questions and concerns about the character of the guilds that have joined us en mass, how they will fit in with our style of play, and especially will they stick it out when the going gets rough. In a nutshell, if they want our respect they are going to have to earn it.

I’ve remained unusually silent this week as I am aware of the feelings and emotions running high from each of the servers and as I respect all 3, I didn’t want to cause any undue heartache. However this post rubs me wrong in every way possible, and I feel the need to address it.
Let me start out by saying that the decision to leave SBI was NOT an easy decision for ANY guild involved. We had meetings after meetings, and discussed matters round the clock, and literally exhausted every possible scenario before coming to the conclusion of what was best for each of us and our respective guilds. The name of this game is Guild Wars 2, not server wars, and it was either transition to a new server, and keep our guilds active, or stay ‘loyal’ and lose the entire guild to attrition and burnout. Stormbluff Isle was an amazing server full of amazing people, and during our prime, we were unmatched by few. Since the decision of many well known guilds to leave SBI was universally shocking, and tantamount to the shot heard round the world, I understand the mixed feelings by many, but to say that SBI players are en mass bailers, and are going to have to work double time to earn respect from one player because we were recruited to bolster a community that we all agreed was amazing, and would enjoy playing for tremendously. I will not apologize for this, nor will any guild that transferred to another server to better themselves, or that server. Neither will I stand by and be put on trial because you are unhappy new players came to your server. We have been welcomed by the biggest and best guilds SOR has to offer, and have enjoyed ourselves getting to know your players, and playstyles, and can honestly say we have been revitalized by the friendly and helpful atmosphere shown to us so far. I understand that your bitter opinion and standoffishness does not convey the feelings of the entire server, but the continued digs at those of us that worked our collective kittens off day in and day out are uncalled for and breed a divide on us vs them mentality. SOR is a community, and we are part of it. The sooner you accept that , the sooner we can move forward to making this a place that welcomes anyone, no matter where they came from, and an unstoppable force in WVW. Please, for the sake of the community, stop treating those people that made the hardest decision of their ingame lives, as if we are second class citizens. Just because we were soldiers in another country doesn’t make us better or worse than your soldiers.

I am especially enthusiastic about the new guilds here on SOR because one of the players i’ve seen also has a bear helmet. You can’t have too many bear helmets on one server imo.

Mine has been super lonely and couldn’t bear it anymore.

I think its a great testament to our server wvw coordination that we are able to organize tanking a match.
