Point is, whatever they release, it wont be epic….. for example you cant really use living story to kill and elder dragon. Like what is the dragon going to be available for 2 weeks only etc.

I have measured expectation for the actual content. Im assuming it will probably be more meh achievement point grinding.

As far as the actual story or lore, Im certain it will be lame, since it cant be epic.

Living story is boring….. shouldnt anet be working on something a bit more epic…. like pawel joko or another elder dragon to fight by this time. As it stands, this shallow content lasts me a day or two.

Please release “campaigns” of more epic nature as mini xpacs… hell i would pay for them. The personal story mechanic is already in place to create a gw1 style campaign that is more lore heavy etc.

Otherwise, ill cya guys in two weeks after i finish what I am sure will be another super lame patch with the queens speech.

10g/hr? Thats not that much. I guess these champ trains really don’t give that much after all. Dungeons IMO are still your best bet in getting rich. Best farm dungeon route is CoF path 1&2 , CoE path 1,2,3. HotW path 1 and 2.

Lets not forget all those tokens for completing the dungeons!

See I don’t see a problem with that (assuming you aren’t exploiting to skip things) since the dungeons take a group, coordination and to complete all those paths quickly, some skill. In addition it is only for 1 run a day, you can’t keep doing it.

Plus gauntlet farming currently dwarfs everything else. Zerker warriors can make close to 20g/hr with no DR.

Guantlet farming is a lie and is not real….. Please lets stay on topic so Anet can focus on this champ train….. and pay no attention to whats happening… err not happening… in the guantlet upstairs….

Everyone who has been playing WvW knows SoR has had an all-call of sorts going on for the past 2 days.

What is an all-call ? That is simply one of the funniest things I have heard on these boards to date. It is a little absurd to to think anyone would dictate other people’s play time and even more absurd that anyone would actually listen to them.

The difference between the personal story and living story is well …… Close to nothing. The living story is obvious it is not my story. Personal story at least the attempt is made to make it my story.

Other then that I like the personal story because of the way the narrative could be told. Living story is a lot harder to have a narrative that can be caught up on.

Guess thats the problem….. like wooden potato in that video…. i really dont see how the living story model can be made to have an epic narrative. I just dont see the structure there for it.

I have 3.5k hours played, and i feel pretty disconnected to this incarnation of Tyria. I am a pretty big lore nerd, and the living story method of delivery, imo, is creating extremely shallow lore. I do not care one bit about pretty much any characters introduced via living world. I dont care at all who wins the upcoming election outside of how it will actually affect the game content wise ( ie morality etc). Living story provides extremely shallow character/npc development, shallow lore, and most definitely mundane lore progression.

The personal story concept I loved…. though the actual story itself was very standard good vs evil, the system itself, I believe worked out very well. Alot of the missions were extremely fun and I would even say epic. This system also provides a means to develop NPC characters you actually care about which is good for a players long term investment into the world of Tyria through immersion. As sad as it to say, I would care alot more if Treehearn dies for example, than lets say whoever these people are that are in the elections that ive spent a total of maybe 5 minutes interacting with.

I understand something like a large scale personal story mini xpac will take up alot of dev time, but i sure would buy it… and im pretty sure EVERYONE else would, instead of the hit or miss with the current gem store items. Ideally, i would want this new personal story content to be extremely challenging with some amazing skins as rewards for completion etc.

In a sense more epic dragonslaying, less elections, glorified jumping puzzle zones, and settler negotiations.

TLDR: Personal story is a superior way of lore delivery, npc development, and immersion. Living story is shallow content that I feel doesnt connect me or engross me into the world of tyria.

Create a new deep, extremely challenging, with awesome reward skins, “mini xpac” questline using the personal story method of delivery, and put it on sale for gems.

This is a complete waste of developer time. You build a magnificent looking zone and it turns out to be a glorified scavenger hunt.

I dunno about you guys, but i dont see this as substantial content. I would much rather they spend time fixing issues with the game instead of this.

I dunno if anyone mentioned this yet, but SOR only wins due to coverage and numbers, BG wins every single time the numbers are even….

SOR also tends to run ONLY in massive zergs while BG uses highly coordinated smaller groups. Of course when these small, highly coordinated BG groups run into the SOR hyper zerg they lose. But if the elite, super skilled, smaller BG groups fight even numbers, they always win the fight and force SOR to run inside their towers to hide behind Arrow carts.

TC is a very strong tier 2 server, no where even close to a tier 1 server.

Normally I play NA, but hey it is Sunday, I wanted to run with HB, so I run. Congrats SoR on reaching 355PPT. The score is indicative of the imbalance that is occurring, and We can kiss our previous balance good bye. There is no yin or yang. I hope EU guilds on EU servers would join BG and JQ to right the imbalance that is occuring and help fight the empire.

In the meantime, JQ and BG, keep fighting….“For Freeedoooom”.

BG has more than a sizable EU force. The problem with them is that they only hop into wvwvw when one of the HB commander shows up (from what I’ve gathered). BG actually has a lot of pugs floating about in EU. If you guys can actually recruit those guys into larger guilds, you’ll have an EU force to be reckoned with. Not sure if the extra bodies I’ve been seeing is from the overtime or not, but since so many BGs insist they aren’t pulling overtime, I’ll just assume those guys in the EU time zone aren’t guys pulling overtime. This means BG does indeed have a larger, but more unorganized EU force than SoR.

I wouldn’t call it overtime; we just love the game. But yeah, a lot of us are willing to put in the extra effort to win by pushing into the later time zones. The sentiment that actually trying for your win is somehow a bad thing is ludicrous.

Been on SOR since 3 day headstart…… and it shouldnt matter in an rvr game.

I have 3293 hours played on my warrior as of this post. A huuuuge portion of that was in wvw, enough to to say that without a doubt, i am a “hardcore” wvw player.

Last night was the first time that I have reached the point where I literally did not want to be in wvw and was only there because of my guild.

This was due to skill lag. The vast majority of our fights involved immense skill lag, and simply made the experience completely frustrating.

Anet…. i do not want to wvw anymore because of skill lag. This is a GAMEBREAKING issue, and with the tier system removed there is very little reason to wvw.

There is no reason to try to win to stay in tier or to move up, and the fights themselves are NOT FUN due to skill lag.

This is all my opinion of course, but i am sure that i am not the only one that is equally frustrated. I understand that this is still a relatively young game, and i can forgive things like balancing issues etc. But i cannot forgive gamebreaking issues such as skill lag for this long.

Simply put, if there was another fantasy based modern rvr game out there now, I would not be playing gw2.

Stay away from SOR please, and you can most definitely be assured we wont be “assisting” you with transferring over here as much as we would loooooooove for you to help us fix our bad behaviors.

HiRe, Tysm, Ocx, AFS, TW, IRON, SAHP etc SBI, Desolation, IoJ, SoS

At the moment regardless of how you flip the coin, SoR has Late EU/NA EST advantage which allows them to push in BG weak zone, full cap things then plant 80mans on the walls, not that hard to do. We did that to JQ back on SoS, wasn’t because JQ SEA wasn’t beastly it was because we could prepare zones for FoO logging in and we knew how to defend them.

Not sure about SoS, but MagiKarp is a great commander on BG, actually all the commanders in MERC are top-notch, and it’s a great place to learn from them and other leaders. This is purely my opinion, and my point is to not convince anyone whose mind has already been made up. I just want to make sure 3rd party looking in does not have MagiKarp reputation as a leader sullied.

A wise JQ lad in an earlier post said all commanders from all servers deserve a salute for their sacrifice – he’s right on.

If they were playing to maximize points then they kinda failed, easy targets on SoR’s side of EB while they are distracted with BG, and also all of SoR’s borderland is enemy territory at the moment, even a few pieces there would gain more overall.

You need to put urself in the enemies position, attack fully upgraded tier 3 towers and keeps full of arrowcarts (which will give more than enough time for a force to respond) or take your easy paper targets….

2v1’s dont just happen without a reason. They happen because you put urself in a position to get 2v1’d. Learn to play the maps correctly.

In EB you get 2v1’d, when one of your outer towers is paper. You display weakness, then you will get targeted. Paper targets are the biggest “attack me” first signs there are….

No, it’s not your imagination. Most SoR I’ve encountered run if they are evenly matched and only want to play when the odds are at least 2-to-1.

I really wish they would come out and play when the scales of power are even, and not heavily weighted in their favor. But hey, it just makes the bags of those I catch trying to get to the zerg that much sweeter.

Sorry, you guys are simply too strong for us to ever win in an even fight.
All our commanders are completely stumped over the fact you guys didn’t break into T1 and simply take over everything. I just wish SoR could get it together like TC has, I just have never seen such a level of skill and dedication since I started this game at launch. I would like to commend SoR on their level if patience. It must take a lot of patience to wait for enough numbers to show up before they come out of their t3 walled keeps.

I am interested in seeing the inside of one of your keeps later today, as I’m sure, with so much manpower inside, you guys put it to good use redecorating and the interior looks fabulous?

This is why I love to bash on TC. When they are winning their match ups they are forum white knights riding high upon their mighty forum positivity steeds.

A few more days of TC getting absolutely demolished, (let’s not kid ourselves here, SOR has resorted to keeping attendance low and playing on lowbie alts to somewhat even out the terms to keep us entertained, not to mention a guild flat out temporarily transferring to find competitive fights), and we will see this forum flooded with their QQ.

Its OK TC, we will roleplay your server, tell you to keep your chin up and maintain a positive attitude, as we wreck everything around you and make all your base our base.

No need to bother roleplaying, SoR acts exactly as you have described TC as acting- save for the giving advice and critiquing their opponents in one of the most condescending fashions possible.

No, it’s not your imagination. Most SoR I’ve encountered run if they are evenly matched and only want to play when the odds are at least 2-to-1.

I really wish they would come out and play when the scales of power are even, and not heavily weighted in their favor. But hey, it just makes the bags of those I catch trying to get to the zerg that much sweeter.

Sorry, you guys are simply too strong for us to ever win in an even fight.
All our commanders are completely stumped over the fact you guys didn’t break into T1 and simply take over everything. I just wish SoR could get it together like TC has, I just have never seen such a level of skill and dedication since I started this game at launch. I would like to commend SoR on their level if patience. It must take a lot of patience to wait for enough numbers to show up before they come out of their t3 walled keeps.

This is why I love to bash on TC. When they are winning their match ups they are forum white knights riding high upon their mighty forum positivity steeds.

A few more days of TC getting absolutely demolished, (let’s not kid ourselves here, SOR has resorted to keeping attendance low and playing on lowbie alts to somewhat even out the terms to keep us entertained, not to mention a guild flat out temporarily transferring to find competitive fights), and we will see this forum flooded with their QQ.

Its OK TC, we will roleplay your server, tell you to keep your chin up and maintain a positive attitude, as we wreck everything around you and make all your base our base.

I think it will be very apparent just how massive the gap between t1 and t2 is….. and hopefully Anet shelves this silly system.

You talk as if BG is one person. In my experience when we lose we fight harder, when we win we try to keep winning, and as far as balancing a tier… That’s next to impossible to do without help or cooperation from Anet.

I think it’s pretty safe to say, that you do not need more guilds, just organization. Try doing the right thing and sending your potential recruits to the server that does need them(JQ). At least, SoR refuses transfers and sends them both our way, BG on the other hand cares only about winning it seems and over-stacking their server.

As far as calling other servers out, I have no idea what that means. No one is calling anyone out. Here except maybe the OP who is was not even from sor and obviously trolling you all.

No one on SoR is claiming the server isnt stacked. We know we have gotten an influx of some players, but besides IRON and before that TYSM I dont know of any other major wvw guilds we have gotten lately. I honestly believe its more or less a sleeping giant syndrome. Where people who quit came back, becasue we were winning. A lot of these people are people we have always had and since the moral is so high they showed up. And this would most likely explain why SoR stays at very high. And doesnt go to FULL.

I know a lot of people came to SoR because of the WvW but the same can be said for BG and JQ. Any server in T1 has high wvw pop.

But your claim is thakittens more stacked than others and this is where I and some others will disagree. 1 you dont have any numbers to back up this assumption. 2. the only numbers we do have go Against this assumption. 3. The scores are always very even on the weekends, and SoR actually gets beat on reset nights and weekends. 4. Your whole argument is designed around ad hominem attack on the OP instead of maybe recognizing that SoR does really well becasue of the excellent community on the server that it has created, and the great atmosphere and positive attitude on the server, lets try to discredit it by calling the server more stacked than the other two and attribute it to the only reason it has done good as of lately.

Blob forms, other side forms counter blob, first blob breaks apart after losing. It’s pretty much how it worked this week. Break up or get bigger. The Blob hungers, hide the steaks.
