I was wondering because i’m farming the pets now to have the perfect build for dps.
Are there any vanilla pets i should get? will hot pets be worthless?
I was testing guardian more, and i really like greatsword.A person in teamspeak told me he uses a lot skill 3 to jump to people and then 2 spin attack, which i admit i really like for the aoe effect, plus the jump not only blinds but also jumps to enemies and you are on them.There is also a symbol i can use to get more power.Its just a pretty solid combo for aoe attacks for groups of enemies.
Hrm but i thought scepter doesn’t add much condi? hrm.I went for a build that adds loads of might and even healing gives retaliation.
Sword and shield for 1 hand and longbow for second hand both marauder
I changed to this build:

Armor:All of it marauder with runes of divinity:
Weapons shields:Either superior rune of leeching or superior sigil of force.

So i went to the pof expansion test character and i was getting absolutely destroyed on my guardian unaware exactly of how it works.

Is that like a condi build or just a tank build? i am clueless please help.I am testing it out to learn when i create a guardian how it all works.
One thing that i want changed:There is a enemy who needs to be nerfed now called cave screamer.That enemy is stupidly overpowered and spams rockfall and then also cripples you, and as a necro thats ridiculous because he has infinite rocks drop on you and kill you while you keep being knocked down repeatedly.It would be like if i grab a 5 year old kid hold his hands to his face and keep forcing him to slap himself why are you hitting yourself? Just thinking of it makes me angry
So if i use that build heimskarl showed me i can do spvp?
What about common druid melee builds for fractals?

I was in a raid and i was dealing like 15-20k dmg because group kept adding vulnerabilities and i got buffed and i got even more vulnerabilities thanks to the axe.
15-20k Damage is really low for a dps build, even for power necro. Power necro can get close to about 24-25k (maybe a bit more), which still isn’t good for a dps build. That is under some support specs.
a soppurt spec wont gonna hit 25k+ dmg with a single ability stop overexagarating….
if it does he is not a Support…..also on a somewhat tanky Power build Necro with a single ability can do 25k dmg…
hell im sitting in 3000 armor and my axe skill 2 alone did 30k dmg in 1 go lol reaper abilities do 16k to 20k
as a FULL DPS build those dmg would be like 30% higerstill not worth it you know why ? because we have no worthwile group utility….
also all those 20k-30k dmg comes froum CHANNELED ABILITIES while some of the other classes can do that dmg or close to that dmg with INSTANT ones…… looks at Mesmer and thief and ele and almost everyone……….
It’s not about hitting with a single ability, it’s dps, damage per second. CondiPS can push over 25k dps, easy.
A 30k channel ability does not mean that you did 30k damage per second, and maintain that level for the duration of a fight.
My necro is lucky to get around 2k in dot damage sustained for longer than a couple seconds unless i get help in which i’m in a group and can get a lot more, especially if i use signet to put on a ton of damage because condis decay.Also keep in mind this was on the demo with full exotics power precision ferocity and i was by myself.Also:the one where i got that damage was with mostly condi dmg build.I merely did it for having some defensive stuff to cripple enemies.I can easily solo crit for 16-17k per strike.In fact:I got over 30k dmg with 2 crits.
He could go axe horn no? thats pretty strong non condi build which puts on tons and tons of vulnerabilities.I know that spite has some traits which are really good for non condi build for necro and you could go greatsword for second build and leave 3rd one as reaper for going reaper/ and spam number 2 and 3 for getting as much damage out.Heck:If you get tons and tons of power ferocity and precision you should have enough damage.

Part of what makes heart of thorns so great is that its layered with things to do big open areas to explore with monsters everywhere and all that.The world does seem a lot flatter and gliding is less a thing of importance here.There seem to be a lot of events so far going around i dunno its comparable maybe to the very first map in scale from heart of thorns silver wastes.
My definition of viable is that i can do enough damage and survive that i don’t get kicked out of the group and told go condi for raids and fractals.Spvp is less important but fractals and raids are very important for me.
for raids fractals pvp maybe.I wanted to get a pet with loads of power and ferocity and just start shooting enemies dealing as much dmg as possible in physical dmg.

I was talking to a guildy who mains as a guardian and mentions that condi is viable healer druid is viable, but not sure about non condi build.Something to do with the recent changes which is why i’m asking.
I have a lot of fun with using longbow and using greatsword and was wondering if i went full melee version if i’d be able to be viable, or is condi the only deal of dps?
Wait a min i wonder:Is reaper going to be kept as is? or is it going to be made more of a power build? because as is its superior.Then again sand shroud i guess will replace it
So is it true that the benefits of using vanilla shroud is greater? i am interested in ccs boon corrupts and condi.I even have burn effect to add extra condis to my enemies.
Anything i should know? should i change my build and ignore metabattle?
I used well of blood yesterday on raid myself with built in points.Seemed to heal well enough.I actually somehow saved a party member for that raid with it.They were near zero health and downed and i got them to full health.The ability really recharges fast too(10 Seconds) which is faster than consume conditions.
What i will talk about is spectral grasp feels awfull with its cd.Yeah it chills enemies and cripples them, but its got such a loooong cd.(50 seconds) I’m not sure if i’d want to take this for Spvp because of such a long duration.

All this the sky is falling is nonsense.Necros are viable IF you know what you are doing.So far i have tried 3 raids all failed because i didn’t know the boss mechanics well enough.I’m sure its viable just gotta practice.As for Pvp:Well that is viable but its quite hard.Don’t expect to be a master untill you practice and get a hang of it and understand that you are a group character and not good at 1v1ing enemies and being focused on sucks.
Necro seems viable for now.Haven’t tried fractals with this build but it should be viable.
This build isn’t meta vitali i made this build up to add vulnerabilities and also to add crippling effects on the enemy and the shroud i just use to eat up all the condis and everyting else for my guild.
The setup is meant to help with stronghold of the faithfull for dealing with wargs.
Granted its not perfect, but it does work.On top of that:Shroud mode works better with condi build.
Question:Wouldn’t shroud technically be better now that reaper mode was nerfed?

I went for raid shroud instead of reaper mode and I think reaper is overall better.I am running axe/warhorn

Reason:Axe with spiteful spirit for spiteful spirit and it adds cripple.
Unholy fervor reduces recharge of axe skills and adds vulnerability
Soul reaping for dhunnfire fire effect speed of shadow and vunlerabilities removed plus movement impairing conditions spectral mastery for longer and life force on use and gain life force from using.
Blood magic 1/2/2 for healing my group and warhorn because i use warhorn

So is meta builds still viable for fractals? Can i do it without using druid? is druid still a viable healer?

I admit i’m not the best necro by any means and with these changes and metabattle being out of date what should i do? what build is viable now for metabattle?
Have you guys got any build ideas for fractals? i want to still finish fractals and i need to still get all of the living world seasons.
But little tick while very good player still got owned by enemies who were non necro because they had better survivability blocks and dps.If it was balanced in skills and survivability tick should have won rather than the enemy because of skill.
Either dps of others needs to be nerfed so spike dmg isn’t instant or necros need to be able if specced to sacrifice some survivability for more dps.Personally:I’d like if necros got a bit more survivability so we aren’t targetted first and make enemies think.
I really like necro but i think i’m going to reroll.I want to be able to solo queue and have fun and have a decent chance.Maybe i’l reroll to a guardian or a warrior.

One thing that ircs me is when i’m in a party get cced and bursted by 2 guys and instantly dead before i can even react.Even 1 thief or 1 ranger can pull out enough ccs adn bleeds to kill you nearly instantly.Its just plain obscene the amount of damage and ccs in 1 go.
Now i encountered a bunch of trolls but this is def a problem.I mean:If i get 5 ccs and i manage to somehow get them off me with heal or with staff (if they don’t kill me before i do so) They will just instantly put 10ccs on me and slow me and immob etc and bleeds and i’l be out of ways to get the ccs off me before someone bursts me down if my team isn’t keeping them occupied.Bleeds i can transfer instantly, along with burns and that kinda stuff.CCs i cannot.

Does anyone feel like dealing pitifull damage in spvp while on necro?
I feel like i’m forced to take all the defensive tanky stuff for stripping and my damage feels like its not that great.I would love to take epidemic but i know that deep down i can’t sacrifice boon corrupt for epidemic because enemies will completely destroy me and my team due to how much better they are at buffing and dpsing.I feel more like a utility class than a true dpser who is master of bleeds and poisons.
Thunderbird also cc is op and too easy to simply cc someone and drop them dead with instant spike dmg.
Very frustrating to be fighting a ranger and instantly drop dead because of massive spike dmg before you can react.
Choovanski they could always tweak a bit to control Gap openers gap closers and ccs for controling and interrupting.
I do agree with the general concensus that ccs are overkill.While i do think its good to make players think hard about what skills to take, like:Do you want to survive longer vs a ranger in the enemy team? the warrior? or the mesmer?.The wrong choice is neither and being instantly blown up because you can’t seem to shake off the amount of seemingly endless cc towards you.
Also:I want to comment to Lord velar because while i like his idea I think its a very very bad idea to delete abilities lest you turn into wow and be super dumbed down where classes can be learned in a day.Also getting rid of abilities might turn characters who had great synergy with others to no longer have synergy, so how would you balance it out? How would you balance out those classes who depend on cc like mesmers thieves warriors etc?
I was in heart of mist fighting 1 melee and he stunned me and 2 shotted me before i could react.
In a second fight i fought a ranger and got rooted and instantly dead before i could even put a anti cc.
Not only is cc too high in some instances, spike dmg is too high too, instantly killing people making it a zerg fest.You shouldn’t be able to 2 shot people or 1 shot people.

I tried using this ability but i only sent bleeds and poisons doesn’t work on cripples.
You can transfer even fear, immobilize and.. blind.
Dagger #4 and Staff #4 will miss with blind but not the signet.
I just checked you can only autotransfer bleeds and poisons and burns and stuff like that.Doesn’t work on cripples or chill effect.
I am talking about it based on what i read on metabattle.
Question is:Does plague signet build ability also work on chill effect and other stuff like crippling? or only just things that damage you over time?
I was wondering something:Since hard cc and condis are such a problem, how come curses plague signet line isn’t used for automaticly enemies to have their condis sent back to them?
Unless maybe it only sends bleeds poisons and burns and not things like cripples and chill effects.(maybe that would be too good i guess,i can understand, it might be op.)
I have bad luck too, but then again:I have only done t4 once and t2 once and most of what i did was t1 and TT and i’ve done dragon stand a few times.Haven’t seen a single ascended item.
I did get once a exotic greatsword with nice stats from TT, but thats about it.The ascended ring i got i bought i believe, and my ascended dagger has bad stats(melee stats) instead of condi stats from pvp.I Guess its bette than nothing.
Necro bleeds should be doing around 2500 per tick with enough bleeds.
I haven’t counted how many bleeds that is, but that is around the perfect number in that its not too high, and its not too low.2500 would mean that in 4 ticks=10k half your life bar, and would make you think:OH GOD!! i’m going to die if i don’t do something.5k is too much because it means you would kill people with bleeds in around 6 seconds, and that would be overpowered.
I’m guessing around:20 stacks of bleed is probably needed?
After that:All the op classes with op burst cc need to be heavily handed nerfed hard so that their elite spec can’t just burst you down in 3 seconds.
After that:nerf the ccs of warriors/rangers/mesmers/guardians so that their cds are higher and the amount of boons can be looked at.
After that:We need a buff in cc to put us in line but without being op so we can escape.
Then the game will be balanced as it means that we have enough pressure and damage to hold out and hopefully drop people if they aren’t careful, because the issue right now is that burst is king, and burst of some classes is ridiculously op.In order for condis to work well, it has to be a wearing people down battle slowly, which means burst has to be slown down considerably so battles last longer and we can wear eveyrone down if they aren’t careful, and make them think:There is a necro holy cow that guy is gonna wear us down if we don’t get em or:You there ranger you cleanse us all to keep that necro busy.
Instead the reality is this:OH HEY NECRO burst him down he’s pretty easy to kill on warrior/Ranger/guardian.

1:Limited to capture the flag games.I was hoping for something like a last man standing one, or most kills one added but you use cannons and stuff a lot of times because killing each other leaders counts for a lot of points.
2:Ridiculous burst and zerg worlds.I would love it if you couldn’t burst people down in 5 seconds, as it just becomes a click war of who can zerg down first your opponent.
3:Lack of good ability to Queue with my guild to enter pvp at 5v5 level.I would rather have a team i know and be able to go together than forced to solo queue as a necro, especially as a necro, who’s soloability can end up being quite frustrating.
there is a prefix which gives toughness/condi dmg/expertise/vitality, if that is what you want.
I would love the expertise but i don’t want toughness as that will just get too much attention from mobs.
If condi necro stats i want is expertise condi vitality, then how come there is no viper ascended? If power doesn’t help condi dmg at all, why have it?
Furthermore:There is nothing with expertise as the major stat, or does power have some effect i don’t know of on condi? I was told by the second in command of the guild that i want expertise condition vitality, but everything has power, even viper, and there is hardly anything like that.
Even viper has power.
I’m wondering:Since i maxed my elite skill there are more hero points than i can use, so i wonder if the elite spec or other specs will be expanded upon?

I heard a person theorize that either elite spec or something will be expanded in the future and we will be using all the skill points.
Necro WVW:They do loads of dmg if you have the right skill and right gear and right runes.
Necro in Spvp(structured pvp) They can do good damage so long as nobody focuses you.Certain classes will destroy you and i mean DESTROY you, like:Rangers warriors and guardians.Mesmers are pretty tough to beat if you don’t know how to counter them.The reason is:all these classes have better survivability than you and lots of ccs to keep you down and op burst, especially warriors and guardians.Other classes can be beat.If you are smart you can even beat guardians if they mess up, but be careful and don’t under estimate them.Also:Necro is a condi class,and every class and his mother can remove your condis fairly easily, making your damage negligable if you don’t keep an eye out for the cds.Its doable over all but it takes a lot of practice, and can get frustrating.Sometimes you feel like a live lord, other times you repeatedly die due to being focused on 24/7 and you have trouble keeping your health up.
If you are free to play, you will especially suffer due to pvp working mostly around elite skills, as they add dmg and cc and other stuff.Traditional condi necro can be viable, but necros aren’t the best solo queue class.I’d recommend queuing with a friend and practicing to get good.

the boon strip has a 20 second cd.
Fear has a 32 second cd.Corrupting boon on 15 seconds is necessary since it allows to kill people, and last i hear:isn’t resist a boon? it would make someone maybe be a little cautious.
20 seconds is enough to not be spammable.Whats so wrong with the ability to either corrupt resist with boon corrupt?
What’s wrong with using something other than staff for a change? Yes…There are other weapon set combinations that do not include staff lol.
In this case actually:I was thinking more on line of:Boon corrupt corrupts resists making you take more dmg.Boon corrupt isn’t staff.
Necros need something to survive longer, cause we are getting bursted down by more mobile classes, and the dmg seems rather lackluster on the first attack.
