So…an Anet agent went to your house and put a gun against your head and forced you to do pvp?
World exploration is not a pve or neither a pve achievement, it’s an exploration one. One imposed to you by the game designers, if you choose to complete it you should do it under their terms, and if you don’t like it or feel that you’re unable to do it then simply don’t do it.
Why not put everything in one place then?
I’m not saying it wouldn’t be more comfortable, but then what would be the point in having the actual TP. I know they already did that with the bank but still I would think that’s enough, otherwise people would start arguing that since we have TP there we should have vendors too, and later who knows what.
It’s not that hard to check what you need, buy it and then go pick it up, specially if you’re in a city like LA, or any other by that matter.
It should not be 100g at all.
Should be acc bound , when people can actually prove they deserve it.
And how would you do that?
I have to agree with most of what has been said here.
For instance in most of the missions after you join your order, you are introduced to some companion, and BOOM at the end of the mission that companion is dead, or captured, or turned into an undead and I must kill him….man I must be the worst partner ever, yet I’m still called hero and commander and stuff.
Another thing that bothers me is the little amount of missions you get to do with your order, they’re like what…2? and then you join the pact. When I was told I had to choose an order I thougt “Cool I’ll have to do many missions according to the order’s way of doing things”…but no I had the introductory to the order one and the one recruiting some faction for the pact and that’s it.
I agree with your points, anyone that disagrees is simply immature. +1
I disagree with you, anyone that agrees is simply stupid. -1
Then every class would start whining that they want one too…
If they add something it should be worth 0 points and no title.
Like if points were actually useful for smoething…
Also…why not?
What if I feel that I’m unique and my outfit represents my uniqueness? What if I’m the only one that I know who knows how to get that look? What if I’m so selfish that I want the fewer people possible looking like me?
In a game where the looks seem to be the ultimate goal, such things could be very relevant for some people.
Disclaimer: I don’t really feel like I put it, it was only an example. I don’t really care if everyone looks exactly like me.
Yeah but it would be more difficult, I mean instead or resseting all dailies at the same time, it’d have to do it individually for each account.
Besides, even if they were to do it how would the server get the info on what time it is where you are? from your computer’s time?…way too exploitable I would think. Or maybe from your ip adress? what about proxies…
Idk, can’t see your suggestion as plausible…
So would it be only a name thing? or are you suggesting a deeper change aswell?
Because if it were to change skills or traits I think it would be too much work to have 8×3×2=48 different professions…
I die…a lot, and never had a money problem.
But…it’s almost summer here =(
For me, nothing in this game should be character bound…it doesn’t make sense.
I believe it’s ok for asuras and charr not to have boobs, I mean they’re not human why would they have human-like breasts.
But from that point of view one could wonder why do sylvari have boobs though… mysteries of life? who knows xD
Why everything has to be only for lvl 80 for you people?
I would not call the clocktower, or by that mean any other jumping puzzle, a puzzle.
They mostly test your movement skills, but hardly your mind, at least not little more than “how do I get there?”…
Achievements aren’t supposed to be rewards, they’re just a record of the things you’ve done, I wouldn’t expect more from them…
And for the points, they’re just that, like the game score. I mean when you play pacman or tetris or pinball your score has no other point but being a way of measure how well you’ve done, the same thing goes for the achievement points.
I agree, right now the only way to dismiss a minion is to change the skill, but of course this can’t be done in combat or if you’ve just used your minion skill…
I think everyone is forgetting that there is probably no possible way to please everybody, many people like the game as it is (myself included) and many people would like it to follow a little more the MMO mainstream, but maybe for those of the second group this isn’t the right game for them, and that’s fine I think.
I’ve played many games in my life, and I’ve liked games that are rated as crap by most people and hated games that everybody sees as gaming wonders (Skyrim for example). But in both cases, I can’t really complain because, if I like a game I’ll keep playing it, and if I don’t I just move along and try something different.
I really don’t think anyone can come up with a game that everybody loves.
And of course, something to brag, not very annoying like the commander icon but maybe a title
…
You do realise the commander icon is not a bragging icon? It’s meant to be used to direct people around in battle…
I do, but many people use it for that purpose. But I was referring to the annoyingness of the icon, not to it’s bragging usage.
I agree, something like the spvp levels would be nice.
And maybe give people access to stuff depending on that level, such as better or cheaper siege (not much better or cheaper but still a noticeable difference), a little more supply capacity or something like that.
And of course, something to brag, not very annoying like the commander icon but maybe a title, some badge (like the world completion one), or who knows what else.
It could be really fun but I don’t think everyone would like it. I can already imagine the whining about… “Why am I being forced to participate in an event if I don’t want to?!?!!? I just want to play my char like before!!!!”.
Besides I don’t think everybody has alts or more than one char.
@Azaziel
Basically in GW1, there’s a npc that registers the item you are wearing on you and unlocks them for your account, then you can freely discard such item and re-summon it (at a small price, like 10 copper in GW2’s currency) and you can get another one.
Oh I see tyvm.
Then count me in as a supporter for this idea.
Maybe if players and not npcs could be the actors, and they’d recieve some sort of reward for participating it would attract more people, besides the plot would turn out different every time so it would be more fun to watch…
But idk if doing something like that could be in the posibilities of the devs.
I would love to join!!!
Would you mind explaining? for those of us who didn’t play GW1.
Er, what, exactly, are you suggesting? Walking around and talking to NPCs are both already doable. As for opening shops, that reminds me of another thread that asked for what, essentially, boiled down to Ragnarok Online’s market stalls, and that’s a, well… a terrible idea.
People AFK, there’s nothing to be done about it. It’s one of the many things one just needs to accept and move on from.
I think what he’s trying to say is that when someone is detected as afk the game somehow takes control over that character and starts walking around town and talking to npcs, like to add more realism and not just seeing someone standing still in the middle of the city doing nothing.
I love that this game has very little or no “max level only” content… In fact if it had been up to me I would have removed the whole leveling system.
In most games with max level content there is a rush to get to max lvl, you hardly enjoy the leveling part, in fact most people think of it as the annoying part they must do to get to the actual game. In here there is very little things you can do at 80 that you couldn’t do at earlier levels and I really love that.
Besides, if there were to be more 80 only content, it could be more than just items with bigger stats. I know people love to brag, so maybe more bragging material would be a nice thing to add, achievements maybe idk, like I said I like the game as it is so haven’t put much thinking into this.
I couldn’t care less about having mounts or not, but I get really annoyed by the dumb “arguments” most people use against them…
For instance:
- Mounts make players able to avoid mobs or fights: I can perfectly avoid fights as it is right now. If I want to walk through a pack of mobs and not fight anyone I can do it and probably won’t die (except it happens in a very crowded zone in which case the mount wouldn’t help much either).
- Mounts allow players avoid obstacles: Nobody is asking for flying mounts, if you bum into a tree walking/running, you’ll also do it on a mount.
- Mounts wouldn’t let players enjoy the beauty of the world: A waypoint does this even worse. At least on a mount I can see the landscape between my point A and B, in a waypoint all I get is a loading screen.
- Griefers would block npcs or objects in the cities: Too bad there is not a key to interact when close to any object or npc that allows interaction and making unnecesary to click it or even having to see it. Oh wait there is, it’s called F key.
I can’t remember any more now but, seriously if you don’t want mounts just say “I don’t want mounts because I just don’t”, don’t give this stupid arguments that make no sense and make you look like you only know how to repeat what other stupid people said before.
B-B-But everything gives you exp… what would you suggest, getting exp from running?….chatting??
Maybe ask for more exp from already exp giving sources, but I don’t know what else could give exp in this game when there are many things that already do it.
I really don’t care about this but I don’t think everyone would enjoy such a thing…
For instance: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Arachniphobic-friendly-game
This is a very good idea…hope they do something like this in the future.
the 5 skill is awesome, it’s equally usable for attack and defense I mean wtf are you talking about….besides is very handy in JPs xD
I get all of them except the /roll thing…why would you need something like that?

So… You totally failed to notice how that guy’s own argument actually counterproves his (and also yours) point. All right. So because i work during the night and sleep at day means i am not allowed to do WvW?
Read better.
1) I suggest leaving EBG open 24/7 so you can play there
2) ANet has data on amount of players in WvW every hour during 24 hour-day. EVERY server (even ones with full nightcrew) has several hours when wvw is barely even played by people. If you’re that one special cornflake who plays only at 5 AM – you’re welcome to do so in EBG.
So, you get to choose between 4 maps and others are forced to play in one if they want to do WvW….yes, that seems so fair.
And not to mention someone might want to go for map completion.
And understant this people: your daytime is others nighttime, if they’re nightcapping you, you’re nightcapping them too…

I disagree, I’m sure that many of the people who play at “night” do it because they don’t have a specific server region for their time-zone, so they just had to pick between EU and US…this would not be fair to such people.
You are missing the whole point of items being “soulbound”
I’ve played mmos for a while now and never been able to understand that point…
The only thing that I find remotely logic is to not being able to sell something obtained through effort or skill to another player just for gold…but this of course doesn’t apply to same account characters.
I have to agree with you, loot seems very random, hard things drop mostly crappy items (a fex times they’ve been awesome though). BUT, easy things seem to have the same chances to give me that awesome loot that the harder ones, so why bother…
I did that puzzle and after 2 or 3 attempts with the bomb I just thought “aahh screw it, I’ll just do it for the achievement, the loot will probably be crap anyways” and just skipped the bomb part and started killing every griffon…
If I would have believed that the loot could be, at least, above average I could have keep on trying to do it the hard way…

Even better!!!!
Build an arena and make them fight to the death….then feed the last man standing to a hungry pack of wolves. And when it happens, those who reported should get an option to travel to the arena and watch!!!
YES!!
Just kidding….but how awesome would that be.
An of course you must be an elementalist….
Stealth lasts so little that I doubt a skill of this kind could be really useful…
I would agree on remove it from items and upgrades but leave it in foods or potions.
Or maybe do something a little different, that would work a little like karma (not the game kind karma but more like the actual indian religious karma).
For instance, something that everytime you help somebody or do a DE you get a 1% magic find, and everytime you pass on helping you lose some % too…in the end good things happen to those who do good things or something like that.
I every mmo I’ve played, always the “city with the portals” gets all the players…
If ANet would want to make other cities more attractive then my suggestion would be: spread the portals, just give each 2, connecting them only with other 2 cities.
Is this guy trolling or what? xD
Whats the point on buying a game and then pay more to auto-complete it…if you don’t want to play then don’t do it at all…
No, really I can’t understand such reasoning, this has to be a troll…
Just a question: who would you expect to be fighting… everyone?
Doubt that a ffa enviroment would be very enjoyable…
This would make it even worse IMO…mainly because the night capping happens not on 3 servers offpeak time but instead in 1 or 2 offpeak and the 3rd on his primetime…
Let me put an example to make it more clear: Servers A and B are from North America, server C is mainly oceanic…
Current scenario: Servers A and B fight mainly eachother during their daytime, server C owns everything on map on his daytime (and the other servers night time), then next day servers A and B have to retake everything again, but they can counter the owning server C did during night.
Suggested scenario: Servers A and B fight each other in the “daytime” instance and server C has full control of the “night time” instance. Servers A and B can hardly do something to counter server C and viceversa.
Who do you think will win the match? one of the 2 servers who had to share control half the time? or the one who had all the map for themselves the other half?
In the current way at least everything the server C does over night can be undone during the day, this would not be possible if there were to be separate instances.
And how would you make those 5 slots if the map is full? just kick some random 5 players?
You could just buy extra bank/inventory slots with gems. I kinda think that’s what they intended. You have to realize that you’re discussing a convenience, and most conveniences are obtained through the gem shop.
Then give us one locker slot for each armor type, and the rest buyable with gems, just like the bank…
The fact that a dev doesn’t post “read” on a thread doesn’t mean they didn’t look at it…at least that’s my hope xD
