I disagree with reducing the amount of supplys thing, I’m all in favor with giving bonus to the smallest teams in order to balance the match a little, but the servers that have more people shouldn’t be harmed just because the others couldn’t gather enough players.
You don’t know how I feel when I see a parade of siege golems tear down a tower in under a few minutes.
All I’m saying it’s not the bigger teams fault if your server doesn’t get enough people there, giving anything to those in disadvantage is fine but taking stuff from those who aren’t is unfair…

Because then there would be 1 or 2 servers that would never see any enemies (or very few), unless they’re matched each other.
As a slightly related topic: Is it that there are no asians playing this game??
Well in my experience I’ve seen 2 invulerability situations as well.
The first has only happened while in water and a mob at some random point of the fight runs away, heals to 100% and comes back.
The second is when I’m in an unreachable position for the mob and he apparently has no ranged attacks, hence can’t hit me.
The first I can only believe is a bug of some kind.
And the second has got to be an anti exploit system so I can’t kill something without him being able to hit me back (I find this an arguable point because it goes against fighting strategy and enviroment usage but, fine if you want it this way I won’t disagree).
But still they both are very annoying, besides the second one when I come down from my cool spot and get to a place where I can be hit, the invulerability doesn’t go away right away, instead takes like 10 or so seconds. My suggestion for this would be give every mob some sort of ranged attack or a Scorpion like skill (MK anybody?) to pull me from where I am.

All the exp, karma, loot you get is insufficient?
of course it wouldn’t be exactly like football or is keg brawl excatly the same as rugby?
it would probably end up being more like basketball actually…
This could be really fun… I support it
I think Anet is against anything that would induce afking or your character doing anything in the game while you’re not actually doing it…
Ahhh the easiest jumping puzzle so far….followed by the one that I can only imagine was designed by a viscious troll dev.
I hardly ever get any badges for killing people in wvw… most of those I have have been from puzzles and map completion.
When I compare a kill in which I did most of the work or damage, and other when I hardly did anything but instead went and “finished” the other guy…most of the times I get 2 badges in the second scenario and none in the first. So this makes me believe that the person that gets most credit is the one who does the killing blow, regardless of what happened before, being this a very unfair system.
It should be something similar to the DEs contribution system: bronze, silver and gold. For instance, if you got a bronze contribution to the kill you have a 50% chance to get 1 badge, if you got a silver 100% to get 1 and 50% to get 2, and if you got a golden then 100% chance to get 2 badges.
And make badges not lootable but a currency like karma!!
When I don’t know something I just ask, who cares. Besides is not like they’ll remember you after 5 minutes…and there pretty much always has been someone to answer.
I think a new channel just for this is unnecessary and useless since many of the people who would know a little about the game like to answer your questions probably wouldn’t be on a noob channel in the first place.
I’m not a lore expert in this game but I think the title refers to the name of a war that happened some time ago, not to the fact that guilds are actually in war…
Although I agree it can be misinterpreted, I thought something similar when I first heard of this game…
Each character should have a personal bank and a shared account-wide one, the shared being the one you can expand with gems.
Depends on your definition of “content”…
If you refer to huge dungeons for 100 people and looting multicolor items with 5k power, toughness and vitality, then yes it has little content.
But if you want to do and discover fun things, then I would say it has as much content as one could expect for a game launched less than 2 months ago.
I believe there are servers with important oceanic populations… At least in wvw I’ve read more than a few people cursing oceanics for taking over everything in the night.
I agree… and take tway the falling damage changing back to armor thing.
Let it keep being a non racist game like it is, where you don’t hate your enemy for their race but for the place where they live…
I believe that this achievements are a long time goal and they’re not intended to be “hunted”. You’ll get them without even trying to just by following a certain playstyle.
They’re more like a way to acknowledge the time you’ve been playing with a certain weapon than something you should try to hard to get… In my opinion.
Just happened to me too I waited for like 5 minutes and nothing happened, doubt it had anything to do with the fact that I used the arrow charts to kill the risen… right?
(edited by Azaziel.3608)
If you can’t do it, you don’t deserve the achievement, as simple as that.
And it’s not a pve achievement, it doesn’t say so anywhere.
I would like a better filtering system…I mean the other day I typed “finish. .it” (without the dots) and got something like finikitten….
Many times I’ve seen the kitten thing and I’m sure the poster didn’t mean to type anything offensive but it got replaced anyways, and it makes it harder to read the posts and guess what was the original word the darn kitten replaced
I don’t doubt the gauge thing would be fun…. at first. But it would probably stop being it after 100 or 200 gatherings (maybe even sooner)…specially when you’re just farming and want to get everything as fast as possible, I mean the reward for doing it ok should be really great…
I’ve never noticed a bot xD…I really never pay much attention to what others are doing so I have no idea how to spot one.
I disagree…if a server hasn’t reached his limit but one of the others or both did, then it would be a bigger disadvantage if the other 2 can join a second instance when this one server hasn’t been able to even fill one.
The longer a mob has been alive, the better loot it should drop

I doubt something like this would encourage people to go to any given random map and start killing everything in sight just for the hope that one of those hasn’t been killed in all day or more and so has an awesome loot… I at least would not.
It would have to be something a little easier to spot, at least an icon like veterans or champions have. Or maybe that his name changes or something like that.
From what I understood the OP wasn’t suggesting that the game should allowed to be bad because it doesn’t have a monthly fee…
He was saying that because there’s no fee, you’re not being forced to play all day long to make your money count. You can take your time to do things, there is no hurry and you won’t have to spend more money for doing so. Therefore those people complaining about the grinding and no end game shouldn’t be in such a hurry to get the top items but instead more relaxed and enjoying the game.
Aren’t they always released on mondays? or am I mistaken?
Yes, the slower run speed for a few seconds after taking negligible damage is pretty annoying. It screws up some jumping puzzles, as well, and I can’t imagine that being intentional. The lightning section of Goemm’s Lab was so frustrating because taking a single strike slows you down enough to botch your next jump in many cases.
that part has a shortcut….
But still I agree it’s stupid, who would run slower when their life is in danger, apparently in tyria adrenaline works the other way around, instead of making you faster it makes you go slower…
I would hate it because there are stuff I can’t do alone…and I really hate asking for help…although in games I’ve gotten used to it.
Also it doesn’t have that “magic” that the first (second actually but I quitted the first after like a week so it doesn’t count) mmo I played had, at least in the starting zone, and that made me want to keep playing and learn how to play and what to do to move forward…
So if this was my first mmo, I would probably not be playing right now….or maybe yes, depending on how bored I could be…
PS: My first mmo was RO, the second was Wow, and the third is GW2

I’ve never understood why is that some people seem to be just looking for stuff to get offended…

Because the whining is huge on the weekly patch reset, imagine how it would be if they’d do it daily.

I’ve been lvl 80 for like a week now and haven’t even set one foot on any level 80 zone or done any exp mode dungeons…and I’m still having a lot of fun in the game
They should limit chat, mail and TP access though or the botting and spamming would go off the roof…
Also maybe restricting the char to the starting areas only…
But I believe it should be free…
I don’t have 100% map completion but already have all my 4 wvw maps done, and my server is not the best in wvw (actually right now we’re getting our kitten kicked)…
Wanna know how I did it?…3 matches, that’s all it took me, the rotating starting positions pretty much assure that you’ll get most of the map done if you try during 3 matches…
And I wasn’t a burden for my team either…whenever I died I went to do some skill point or vista in our controlled area as fast as possible, and then back to the battle. The rest I got it by attacking towers or supply camps…
I’m sure most of those who complain are just lazy. I bet most of them saw wvw was part of the world completion and didn’t even tried to see if they could do it or got in for 20 minutes, died and rage quitted and then just started to complain.
BEST…SUGGESTION….EVER…!!!!!
Would love the techno viking dance in game…
Well, this might come as a shock to you but it’s not fun either to get owned by another player just because his profession hits harder…
sPvP also requires time, effort, skill (probably more than pve) and dedication so don’t despise it just because you don’t like it or suck at it…
I doubt is easy to balance the same skills for pve and pvp, but in pvp an unbalanced skill has a bigger impact. Mainly because in pve if you fail you can always try again, aproach differently, learn the mechanics and predict what’s gonna happen. In pvp if you fail once or the other does something you didn’t expect, that’s it, you lost.
And maybe non-square zones
why would a shout unstealth anybody? xD
Thief: “Omg someone’s screaming, I’ll just blow my cover and run away!!! I’m so scared!!!”
@Logun I think that he’s requesting this not because of the stats, but for the lack of skills or traits that a lvl 1 would have and the disadvatage that means.
On topic: I really hope they don’t do that, most people who could afford it would probably do so and then at lvl 80 they would find themselves without much to do and very soon quit…and not to mention that would pretty much kill the whole purpose of having a leveling system.
Besides, in wvw you gain an insane amount of exp, I remember leveling from 70 to 75 in like 2 hours in wvw, even more I believe at least half of my main character leveling was done in wvw without any particular effort. If you enjoy wvw as much as you say you do you’ll be 80 in no time.
Please tell me you didn’t already bought the trainer’s book just to reset your traits xD
I’ve never seen or noticed a bot =(
Yes, because the whole world has the same time zones….
But…you haven’t been there or done that…
If you want musical instruments, they should also add other things…don’t know what xD but not everybody can or should be a musician IMO…
You are a new character in a starter zone. At lvl 10 you unlock the harvest tool spot.
I don’t think people would be very happy with having to wait for any level to start gathering. Anet stated you could level your characters through crafting, if they force you to fight monsters until level 10 before you can do this would be, in a way, going back on their word.
What would be suggestion bounced off your idea is a starter tool which is basically the copper or iron tool which is affordable to newbies
every tool after that could take the form of this evolved tool which harvest all materials but takes different durability based on it’s level and this one could cost enough to make it a nice goldsink and would be affordable by the time players are finished with the iron tools areas.
Like when they said account wide dyes, for example.
I would love to parry attacks =(
They could have done so much with endurance, like higher or longer jumps, climbing, who knows what else…but then they only used it for one thing…it’s sad.
Why would you want to play Call of Duty through mail
I also prefer to solo than to do stuff with others…but when I sign to play a multiplayer game, I at least expect some actual multiplayer content and interact with others, I mean it’s par of the genre of the game.
There are many singleplayer rpgs out there, maybe you could try one of them (DAO for instance is pretty similar to gw2 but singleplayer)…
Or maybe ask arenanet to develop a second gw2 singleplayer game (basically the same game but for 1p) although I doubt you alone could convince them to do that.
Besides most of the game content is soloable already.
