I`d like to see one handed hammers. They could even use the regular mace attacks and animations but would just be more variety added to the blunt weapon category.

I do have a full precision trait. But because I see no noticable difference I just use the signet passive skill.

The hammer may be adequate as a utility tool for situations. But for people who prefer it as a main weapon just because they like hammers instead of blades, the hammer is horrible to use.

It’s good, but it’s horrible? I take it you mean it’s horrible at what you would like it to do. Unfortunately, the way the game is set up is to have certain weapons capable of doing certain tasks (including being jack of ll trades). This fits in nicely with the concept of choosing what role you want to play. To choose your role you pick your traits, your gear, your utilities, and your weapon. It isn’t just like this with the guardian, but every class. Some weapons are just more suited for the control role, some condition damage, some direct damage, and some support. The hammer happens to be the go to weapon for control (immobilize, ward, and knockback give it three control skills, no other weapon on the guardian allows for this). I suppose they could heavily redo the game design and make no weapon suitable for any role, and then have your traits decide what your weapons do, but that’s probably not the changes they had in mind for patches.

I would not mind the hammer being a more lethal DPS weapon if specced into the Zeal line, but not at a cost to its control options.

Yes it is horrible. That disgusting delay you get on your first chain attack is enough to discourage you from ever using a hammer normally. Unless you are going for the utility skills for specific situations or just want to use it for yucks for 5 minutes or so, there isn`t any other reason to like the hammer. I would love to to use 2handed hammers because it`s my playstyle and preference but unless you like launching bunnies like the one dude does, it really isn`t a fun or practical weapon to use.

I really don’t mind paying each trait respec, but would be nice having an option to switch effortlessly without always relocating points(while paying, 3s isn’t a lot to begin with so I see no reason to remove it).

Will help between my Dungeon support build and my “Must Smash Faces” Solo build.

Why does everything in a game have to revolve around currency? Wasn`t this supposed to be designed to be fun first and foremost? When everyone says they don`t mind to pay for this or they don`t mind to pay for that, they are just bending over and yelling I`m lubed and ready to go! I could switch stats around any crazy way I wanted to in the original game and never have to pay a cent. I could experiment with all kinds of different class combos to see if I liked it or not.

Anyway, back on track. I loved the template saves from the original. I would love to see us to be able to have the 4 weapon slots instead of 2 as well. Would be cool if you could save a template to a weapon set so when you switch to your tanking weapons, your tanking template loads and when you use a greatsword or other dps type item, your dps template loads. That way I wouldn`t HAVE to keep resetting my traits if i want to tank or resetting them if I want to play for a night healing withfriends and then resetting it again just to play with a greatsword.

The Scepter is boring.

I think when they add more attack skills you can swap around like you could in the original game all the weapons will have more of a personal touch to them.

Curious. I wonder what you will change, since the Hammer is in my opinion, quite adequate.

The hammer may be adequate as a utility tool for situations. But for people who prefer it as a main weapon just because they like hammers instead of blades, the hammer is horrible to use. The hammer just has a horrible #1 combo and the #2 hit misses half the time unless you are right up in the mobs face. For some reason fighting with blunt weapons in this game feels like you are watching your character attack in slow motion.

Particle effects suggestion

I would like an option to turn off other players particle effects. Get 10-20 people on the screen and you can`t see anything but spells being spammed.

I don`t even know why there is a price on teleporting to beginwith. We never had in the original game. I could teleport to different continents all days long and do whatever mission i wanted without ever having to worry about paying to travel.

This is more of an NCSoft trademark then Arenanet. I actually saw a guy begging for a rez because he said he didn`t have enough silver on him to go to the waypoint.

I notice this also. I think as you lvl up the precision needed to maintain your current % goes up too. I think they did it because it`s easy to get high precision and attain a high crit% early on in the game. So as you lvl up you needed more and more precision to maintain the % but once you get to 80 it stays there and you can build on it without it ever going down again.

Scepters are no joke. You can attack from a great distance with a scepter and when you throw down your ground damage and if you have alot of precision and you will do a ton of damage. I can throw out more dps with a scepter then I can with a sword or mace. It`s pretty funny because i love using melee weapons but there really isn`t a reason to unless you have to.

I actually think the hammer actaully sucks. WTF were the animators thinking giving it that long pause between the 2nd and 3rd attack? Do you guys actually consider that obscene delay balance? Hammer has some awsome utility but aside from that , there is no reason to use it as main weapon because it is not an ejoyable weapon to use. Look at how fast you can complete the first chain with gs, now you shouldn`t attack as fast as a sword but then look at how much difference a hammer needs to complete the chain. Hammers sucked in gw1 unless you were on knockdown duty and they made the hammer suck just as much here for some reason.

Also, about Vassar and Ralena, there’s an easy way to win the fight:
Two people throw boulders at Vassar, two people at Ralena, one person is on Illusory Mage duty to kill any that Vassar manages to create. The four other people do nothing but throw boulders. Nothing. Don’t use any other skills, just throw boulders. It’s not the fastest way to win the fight, but it guarantees the bosses will never get a chance to hurt you.

Haha, now that you wrote that they are going to remove all the boulders from the zone.

What we need is a way to build multiple specs and a fast and easy way to switch to that build. If we had that option I think dungeons would be far smoother because many would create specific builds that are more suited to the style of play.

The problem is that many people are just shoving everything in their main damage traits thinking that killing faster is better. That’s probably fine for general leveling, but for dungeons you need more utility, more support, more defensive abilities/stats.

I think the dyes should be account based and not character based. If I find a dye I like, why do I have to choose which character get to unlock it? Why can`t they just all have access to it once I consume it?

I personally built for a tank/support role but the way damage is so random it is too difficult to try and stand toe to toe with bosses. I think they focused more on the evade/dodge principal too much because I have stacked alot of toughness on top of the full toughness trait with the shield perk and don`t see much of a difference in damage taken. On top of that some of the mobs hit so hard that it makes armor class and defense look useless. You either time a negate skill just right or you try and dodge. Pure damage mitigation from your armor alone seems non existant when you get spiked and are dead in less then 2 seconds.

So since I learned the hard way that i can`t tank like normal I just stand in the backround and try to assist everyone else with heals and buffs and do my ranged dps at max range.

Crashing

Game crashes way too much. Crashes when it seems to be running nice and smooth, Once in awhile I will get a strange texture error that turn up showing objects yellow and crashes soon after. Get crashes doing the personal story when it goes to the talk cutscenes. Crashes alot when alot of people are on the screen casting a jillion spells and effects. Please make an option to turn off othe rplayers spell effects. posting my diag and bug log.

Armor shouldn't get damaged in WvWvW

I don`t think there should be repaira in the game at all. The original game never had them why should this one? You can`t even rez yourself to a waypoint unless you pay. If you don`t have coin for the rez you can`t rez, you lay there waiting hoping someone will come along and revive you.

I know alot of people don`t seem to mind paying to repair equipment for some reason. Why I have no idea. This game has gone along the lines of lineage 2 and aion where you are charged for everything. I remember in lineage2 if you wanted to duel in th arena and if you lost you respawned with 1 hp, but they had an npc right at the respawn point for 100 gold would fill your hp up so you didn`t have top sit wait to regen. WTF! Typical NCSoft game. The game is supposed to be fun and I remember in one of the dev letters they kept repeating over and over that we are making a game that is fun and enjoyable. Well, having to shell out silver everytime I get knocked down because of whatever reason really isn`t all that much fun.

Make repair bills optional and see how many of the people who want it so bad leave it turned on.

Wtf...Gem Store Armor?

I think a better idea for the store bought gem outfits would be to have them just like the heritage set. Once you buy it and it`s unlocked you can just go to the hall of monuments to get another set off the npc there.

Been working on collecting some parts from the dwayna set and just found out that it cannot have it`s appearance transmuted. Is this intentional or was the set forgotten to be added to the transmute list?

They want you to buy gems so you can trade them for gold. It`s bad enough you can die right next to a waypoint and still have to pay silver to rez yourself. It`s still bad enough that just getting knocked down to the last stand state gives your armor a durability hit even if you aren`t defeated. The original game was awsome, you could teleport wherever you wanted to play without getting nailed for a fee and you didn`t have to repair your armor if you died too many times. If you want your game to be fun then why put in so many things that make it NOT fun.

Had this happen to me as well last night. I logged a different character after running the lauincher again then logged to character select and was able to log my dc`d character back in.

Heritage Armor

To get your armor set, you first made your character you should have had a small blue teleport gem in your inventory. that will take you to the hall in gw2. If you do not have the gem then try linking your accounts one more time. It happened to me but after I linked the accounts once more all new characters had the teleport stone.

Also, the npc that hands out the rewards for the hom is in the hom but not the guy you see fist when you zone in. He is the npc all the way in the back in the scrying pool.

Other Armour and Weapons skins?

Kind of dissapoints me too. The armor I really want is the armor Logan wears that is 20 gold per part. but the armor has stats on it that don`t match the kind of build I am using. currently using parts from the dwaynas set and was planning on getting that set complete. Once I get the dwaynas set full I would have to shell out 100 gold just to get logans guardian armor models on my set. Haven`t seen any other armor anywhere else besides the human culture merchant that has those armor models.

I`m not even sure if i could use the models from logans set because I have found that some items will be rejected by the transmuter stones. I found what I think is the best looking mace in the game but got an upgrade and the upgrade won`t go into the transmute box. I would be pretty upset if I bought the logan armor just for the models and found they won`t transmute onto other armors.

I am lvl 80 as well and am a little let down with the class. I expected something more solid. I have decent gear but there are too many stats to juggle to try and balance yourself out because you will never find a decent medium. I have 15k hp and some of ther risen bosses can drop me in a second with attacks that quad for over 4k a shot or so. I have about a 50/50 mix of cleric and beserker type gear and I can`t take more then 2-3 enemies most of the time because my increased healing power cannot compete with mobs raking me for over 3k a shot over and over with long cooldowns on defensive abilites.

I originally wanted to play as a tank, but now at shrine battles I use my staff and focus on healing others because nobody else does it and if I do wind up tanking i spend more coin repairing my gear in a session then I make so it`s pointless.

I wouldn`t do it if I were you. The emails are a security measure so people from different regions can`t just login to your account. Even if they managed to get your account password they still need to access your email to be able to verify the location they are trying to login from.

I have about 6 warnings from anet telling me that people from kittenin bejing and the like are trying to access my account. I`d like to send them a jdam for christmas.

The right hand strength trait that adds 15% chance to crit with one handed weapons does not register any changes on the character sheet. I can take the trait then dunp it for something else and see no difference in my % chance so I`m not even sure if the trait is functional or not.
