Besides Iron Horse Mine this is the only real mention of horsies
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Celestial_Horse

How could we possibly get a clicky to hide mounts? We can’t even get one for the rest of our armor or minies.

Well if Sony was smart enough to be able to add a hidemounts feature in the options tab, I think Arenanet could pull it off as well. You are just grasping at straws here for the sake of argument. I laid out the ways it could be done where everyone wins in the end.

I have no interest in mounts being added. I think that Anet should focus their limited resources on other areas of the game.

I have no interest in minipets but we have entire bank tab dedicated to those. I wouldn`t say they shouldn`t make them anymore because there are a lot of people that like them. I`d like them to focus on new content as well and fix bugs. But in the meantime give us some fluff and fun things to keep us interested until the new content arrives.

I do not want mounts in this game, so no thanks. I feel the way we get around now is great, and never want to see mounts in this game at all.

That`s ok, if you don`t want one. You don`t have to buy one. If you don’t want to see one , turn off the graphic! Stay in your little cube and use waypoints till your hearts content. But leave the rest of us the heck alone. That is the beauty of this whole conversation. Some of you just can`t grasp that though.

OP is asking for cosmetic mounts then.

This game should keep cosmetic mounts different than other games.
*No dragons or other mythical creatures. They would be better as enemies anyways.
*keep them small
*Make them nonliving, magical, mechanical, Asuran, steampunk, clockwork, Cyberpunk.
*no horses

That`s pretty limited. What`s wrong with a horse? We have a game full of mythical creatures we kill on a daily basis but yet we couldn`t ride one?

Horses would Nords too tall. Riding mythical creatures just seems too silly.

I don’t think it would be limiting for Anet to create cosmetic mounts with these themes “nonliving, magical, magic tech, mechanical, Asuran, steampunk, clockwork, Cyberpunk”.

You think a horse is silly but would accept steampunk or cyberpunk? Ok our tastes have too wide a gap. I will just leave it at that.

Horses don’t exist in Tyria?

Where is it written in stone that not a single horse ever existed? I think some of you guys take this imaginary lore you have been fed a little too seriously. No horses but we have wolves, bears, spiders, scorpions, coyotes, bats and so on. Tyria must be the only fantasy realm in existence that will use so many real life animals except the horse.

Hi

I would like to earnestly suggest to the developers of Guild wars 2 that you INCLUDE MOUNTS IN THE GAME!!!!

Stop asking for this. Anet will never add large mounts faster than running speed.

There was no mention of the mounts moving faster than run speed, mounts would be great its not all about speed, but about fluff.

maybe then there would be something good in the gem store

Actually the mount would give swiftness like a signet does. There would be no point to open my wallet for something that isn`t functional. We already have swiftness ingame, this would just be another way to attain it. I mentioned all the ideas for it a few comments up.

Anything that makes a player faster now. Should work on cosmetic mounts

Yeah but some players don`t have a class with a swiftness or speed signet. these are the people you would likely see using mounts the most. What would another guy want from a mount if he already has a speed signet or boost? Unless he just wanted it for the looks. It would be cosmetic for him but functional for the guy without it, but both would be on equal ground traveling from a to b.

Let’s be logical. In any game mounts will not be superfluous. Another thing is that the game is not very suitable for mounts. Not vice versa. You can not add mounts here with huge speed gain. it may ruin some aspects of the game. Customize these aspects under such innovation – is too time-consuming.
Another thing is that if we introduce mounts as the usual decorative bauble – very few people will want to buy it themselves. Trust me on a word. Therefore it’s not worth to be introduced.
Hence there are 3 options:
1) There should be a regular speed buff, but not more than the maximum possible. 25-33%. It will relieve some of the classes of seting special skills to move faster. Hence it makes a decorative element to raise the quality of the game. Many people will buy it for the sake of convenience. Moreover, it would not affect nor of any game aspects.
2) Mounts should have unique skills, and be like the transformation of the tonics. This will create a kind of mini-game and adds a bit of variation and ma-a-agic (In terms of fun). Allowing to feel yourself like cavalry soldier or a rider of multi-ton dolyak. People will want to buy it for fun.
3) Both. The best option.

However, to avoid any inconsistencies – should prohibit their use in all aspects of the current pvp (except specially designed).

However, I would not want them to just sold for gems. It spoils “sense of immersion”. Cutting them from the world, by bringing the whole process of getting to the grind of money (of which there more then enough) A collection of mounts will be much more valuable then collection of pets. Wherefore devs should introduce different methods for their preparation. Drop, exploration, pvp rewards, etc.

I made a comment in this thread that covers pretty much everything. But we do have a huge gameworld that is perfect for mounts. I can`t think of any other game of this size that doesn`t have them. Whenever you have a massive world like this, developers usually add in various ways to travel and we got just waypoints. Sure, if you are in a rush a waypoint is great. I am grateful they are there but I`d rather use something else if it was available, something I liked. Go look a few posts up at the rundown I wrote for them on acquiring them. That is pretty fair for anyone.

Arenanet would also make a fortune on the gemshop versions. Nearly every game that has mounts in it that you can buy from a vendor also has some from a gem or cash shop. And the majority of mounts you see people using are the cash shop ones. It`s just good business to provide products your customers ask for and sooner or later it`s gonna happen. Whether it be now or in a few years, it will happen.

I like the idea of the mount skills you mentioned. Though I do think they should be used just for what they are. If we wanted to keep combat off of mounts they really shouldn`t get any skills. But a racetrack or mounted events would be something cool. They have the guild rushes and could make a mounted rush open to the public as a world event that is timed. People love the little things like that and would show up in droves.

I think mounts would be okay if they were temporary and only limited to the area you are in. There’d be vendors located near the entrances to the area and essentially, you’re allowed to pick a mount of your choice to ride around. You can’t keep the mount and travel to another map or region, otherwise it disappears. It could be free or bought for a small fee, and maybe provide a 10% speed boost at most. If you’re hit and enter combat, your mount kicks you off and runs away.

Some of you guys come up with some of the most WTF were you thinking ideas. That`s like saying, you can drive your car, but only in the driveway. And only in reverse!

Why does there have to be a limitation on something that should be fun or enjoyable? It`s like people always think that in order to have something good or fun you have to take something away first. I my previous comments I detailed plenty of ways that could be added and used that would pretty much make everyone happy. There really isn`t a need to limit it even more then it would be if implemented.

bring back the previous! =D

Yeah after posting I figured that was over the top and would start a totally different discussion haha. Gonna try and keep it civil and leave crotch punching my father out it this time.

EDIT
Actually why not, it was pretty funny.

The next time my father and I go for a walk in the part and if I see a nickel on the ground, this would be the dialogue of our conversation.

Me: Hey dad look a nickel!

Dad : Nice, grab it for the coin jar at home.

Me: well, I`m gonna have to punch you in the crotch first.

Dad: WTF!

Me: Yeah, I`m sorry but that`s how it`s gotta be

Dad: But I don`t want to get punched in the crotch!

Me: Too bad old timer hold yer breath, here it comes!

Dad: Wait, Wait,Wait!

Me: Speak quickly before sentence is passed old man!

Dad: Why do you need to punch me in the crotch before you pick up the nickel?

Me: I don`t really want to dad, but if people don`t want you picking up change without hitting someone in the crotch first, this is what`s gotta happen.

Dad: Since when?

Me: Since GW2

Dad: What is GW2?

Me: Stop stalling geezer!

Dad: But. but

Me: Just kiddin pop, I`d never punch you in the crotch, hey lets go get some ice cream! Just leave that old nickel to rot!

Dad: Sounds good son.

Me: How much for 2 vanilla cones?

Ice Cream Man: $2.05

Me: I got a dollar on me, how much you have Dad?

Dad: I have a dollar too.

/Dad hits the floor screaming in pain from a crotch punch.

I kinda went off topic with it but I thought it was funny. My father probably won`t next time I see him though.

it also tells ppl you love to farm and have time for it, casuals like me will never get cultural armor because it’s way to expensive and the stats are simply not worth it.

You know when I first farmed my set at release I thought the same way and it ook months to get the gold to finish my set. But that was because I wasn`t aware of to earn coin other then getting it from what I killed in the open world. Do a few dungeon runs a week and you`ll have the gold to get your set in no time. You get a gold for finishing a dungeon and you get drops that you can salvage and sell. It won`t take you long believe me. A few weeks maybe.

While I like the idea of being bale to switch stats I don`t understand the need to always have to pay for something. this a game, we should have fun with it, not worry about economies or charges in a fantasy world.

Maybe an alternative solution would be to have the ability to unlock stat sets kind of like how you unlock beserkers or knights insignias for crafting. That way you own the stat set and apply it whenever you want to, to whatever you want. Crafters could sell insignias on the tp and non crafters could consume the insignia to unlock the stat set.
So you really are paying for the stats but it`s a one time buy for each set.

That is what I was trying to communicate with the second method – one-time upgrades that would unlock an affix and permanently allow you to switch to that unlocked affix.

With regard to fees – I don’t like fees either, but I recognize the need for gold sinks in this game to maintain a more stable economy.

Yeah that`s why I mentioned getting the stats from craftable insignias so the money that is spent is kept in circulation. whatever someone gets from selling something, he will just spend that on something else. Eventually the gold will be exhausted from various things over time. That way too you don`t need to visit vendors or trade tokens, you could just buy and learn the insignia and have a right click menu on items to select learned stat sets. The more user friendly and simpler a system would be the way to go for me.

Oh how i’d long for a norn cultural Dolyak. That’s a great idea, and the point of mounts having the same speed as a signet is a great idea, especially for the classes that do not get speed signets.

I’m now stoked for something I’m probably not gonna get xD

It would be very cool if the cultural mounts had parts of the actual cultural gear stretched and scaled to fit. A guy made a horse armor mod for skyrim and used a lot of the existing set armors and themed different armor versions for the horse. The dolyak could even have a sort of winged headpiece to match his masters set. Could scale and rotate the pauldrons and make them into leg armor for the yak and it would look great. I did this kind of thing for nifs from oblivion and skyrim all the time and it always turned out pretty nice.

Wow this would be awesome! I wonder if Anet have given mounts any serious thought yet? I mean if they added mounts or customization options to the Gem Store (which would almost definitely happen) I think they’d get a lot of money from them!

Well if they did, they would have to do it right. They would have to have mount vendors that sell some mounts for gold. They would also have to have some mounts that were good looking for gold. I was giving some more thought to it last night and came up with a ghost horse attainable from ascalon catacombs. It would be a horse with the night time ghost effect on it like the weapons have to where it would get the ghost npc spectral effect shader. You could get it with dungeon tokens and each dungeon could have it`s own special mount. I kind of imagine honor of the waves having a big polar bear mount with some of the armor on it like the khodan bear people have. I would think citadel of flame would have a devourer and twighlight arbor could have one of those leaf wolf looking things. They could really do some wonderful things if they put a bit of time into it.

Naturally we both think the cultural mounts are cool so they would be available in home cities along with normal vendors for the public versions of the mounts. I think a good mix for vendors would be to have a bare mount with just a saddle on it. then have a lightly armored one that you can get for gold. The dungeon mounts would be unique and the only way to get that skin. Then for the gemshop they could add a more heavily armor variant of the mounts or mounts that leave rustling leaves in its wake or whatever. The sky is really the limit to how far they could take it.

We could also get a new tab in our banks to store the mounts like we have for the minis. I personally could care less about minis because they really don`t do anything but some people love them in lions arch, I just never got what was so popular with them. But I would collect mounts that I liked the look of.

The game already has the basic running and walking animations for any of the creatures that could be turned into a mount. They would need to make a jump animation for each mount and rig a player skeleton to the mount. This would be the trickiest part, rigging the different racial skeletons for riding. Well, really only the char since all the other share a basic human skeleton, just exaggerated here and there. I don`t know if they would bother with a mounting animation or just make it go poof under you but I could care less about that.

But if I were a dev , that`s how I`d do it. I`d make good available to everyone for gold and tokens and have more variety from the gemshop. Could even do a Pegasus that floats like the broom does to give the illusion of flight. I could go on and on about this subject.

We need UI slots for consumables and boosts.

I will modify my statement: I wouldn’t mind if the mounts were for aesthetic reasons only just like the broom. It would lock your skills down and gives no advantage what so ever but you would look cool (if that’s what you are looking for).

As for myself, I have a Lightning Kite and I like running around with it, for the cool “effect”. Though I probably wouldn’t want something under my little human girl.

But I’m pretty we won’t see any mounts with speed boosts.

The gemshop is the games biggest goldsink. Thinking the few silver you spend to port from here to there is somehow balancing the games economy is an illusion. There isn`t a point in adding racial shapeshifting abilities unless they have a purpose. Yeah it would be neat if rangers could turn into wolves to run faster like they did in eq but then only rangers would have access to it. Racial bound mounts were never a good idea because if I`m not a norn and the norn is the only one who can access the dolyak then it screws everyone who likes the doylak that isn`t a norn. Now I could see doylaks being sold in hoelbrak and devourer mounts being sold in the citadel but they should be open to anyone who wants them.

I also don`t see a problem with people wanting to run places. The waypoints would still be there. You even have the option now to run somewhere if you want to and that`s something I do a lot. I also know I would enjoy it a lot more if I had a mount that got me from a to b a little faster. This is a huge visually rich world that doesn`t require you to be on foot to admire.

This is true, but I still think the gold cost to waypoint is there for a reason. I understand the racial reasons, I maybe worded it wrong, but racial influence on mounts, regardless of which race could use them, would be very cool, rather than just generic dolyaks or devourers.

The last paragraph is what I also meant (i must be terrible with words) I just think if mounts were in-game and had a speed-boost, waypoints would be used a lot less, and I don’t think they’d want that.

It would kind of cool to have cultural mounts that would have a unique skin like the armors do. That way maybe the norn could have the nornish doylak. Bit still letting other races aquire them but not the cultural one.

Well a lot of the classes have swiftness or some kind of speed boost. some classes have a signet that is passive. The mounts swiftness buff would overight any character speed enhancements and be active until dismounted. You wouldn`t be able to fight on a mount and they would only be for outdoor use. They really aren`t any different then a speed signet some of the other classes get except they would just have a visual along with it. The option to turn off the visuals makes it more appealing to the people who don`t want to see them. But I`d wager my last copper that some of the people who don`t want them would see one they had to have.

I don`t think waypoints would be used less because there will always be people who wanna get there yesterday if you know what I mean.

Whoa now, I never said I didn’t like mounts or at least the idea in some sense. I’m just pointing out that GW2 is not designed in such a way that mounts would be of any real use for traveling as there are waypoints and speed buffs. As I stated in my last response, if mounts were introduced as only cosmetic items such as the mini pets, where they would not be something that could be used in battle or which gave any permanent speed buff or that could be used in anyway to avoid combat or exploit anything in the current gameplay, then I would be OK with that. The Devs could just introduce them as either a permanent or consumable costume just like the witch’s broom.

Could you think of any other game that would better suited for mounts then this gigantic huge gameworld we have to travel though? Waypoints are nice when you are in a rush and it`s a convenience and that`s great. There is more to the game then just hopping waypoints.

Well you kinda just hung yourself there with this paragraph didn`t you. It`s ok for me to have something I like as long as it conforms to your rules. Talk about juvenile.

Actually no. Being able to hide mounts was your suggestion as a compromise for people that don’t want to see them. I was agreeing with that idea but I guess you forgot that in your haste to try to prove yourself right. I then once again stated that I do not want to see them. Look hero, people that don’t want to see mounts have just as valid reason as those that do. You say people that don’t want mounts just don’t want others to have them. Well that goes both ways. People that want mounts are trying to force them on people that don’t want them. People that don’t want to see them. See how that works?

It’s obvious that you think you are on some great crusade when really you are just bashing keys for something that most likely will never happen. So you keep doing what you are doing and I’m going to get back in game, a mount free game. I have not played in a while and have some things I want to do, without mounts.

I’ll revisit this thread when there are mounts in the game so I can give you credit for all your hard work.

You what I don`t like to see? Big gals squeezing into spandex pants! Do you think it would be rude or mean of me to walk up to one and tell her she`s not allowed to wear it because I don`t wanna see that? Or just keep it to myself like I do now and look the other way? Same thing applies here.

I also really didn`t need to prove myself right, you did that for me. The noose is getting tighter lad.

As a matter of fact one of my favorite songs is called Crusader by Saxon from back in 84! Crusader! Crusader! cplease take me with you! The battle lies far to the east!

Absolutely no point in adding mounts.

There`s no point in adding boxing gloves, plush backpacks , and bunny ears but yet there they are.

Oh ok so simply because they added useless stuff before they might as well do it again? That makes perfect sense..

I have no problem with cosmetic mounts, if anet wants to add those be my guest. But mounts like in wow (for travelling) are useless, there’s a waypoint around each corner..
Sure it would be nice to ride around on the back of a cool mount, but I just don’t see it happen anytime soon, apart from some minor mounts maybe (like the broom).

It`s only useless to someone who won`t use it.

I suppose I could agree with purely aesthetic mounts, minus any skills or speed buffs though. Basically ‘macro’-pets that you can ride, but which have no other effect to the gameplay or that could give someone any advantage over someone else. No flying mounts though; at least not high enough to take the player out of the game area. Otherwise players could fly above everything or use them as an exploit in jumping puzzles or WvW. Might I suggest just make them another costume? Bam, all the visual appeal of a mount while not affecting the current gameplay. i.e. the witch’s broom.

Sure, make them a costume I can cast in any outdoor zone and put unstackable swiftness on it and we got a deal!

Oh, I see. So people that want mounts for aesthetic reasons have a valid point. But people that do not want mounts due aesthetic reasons do not have a valid point. That makes sense. If I said I wanted Anet to make it so characters no longer have heads because I think it would look cool and you said you would not like the way that would look by your logic your excuse is not valid.

The difference is that the people who don`t like them don`t need to use them. It`s another option for people who like it. You aren`t required to craft to play the game but many people do. You aren`t required to grind for skins when readily available, functional armor exists. But people do. You don`t need to wvw to enjoy the game but people do. I have no problems with any players that do anything that I do not because it doesn`t hurt the outcome of my gameplay.

The, “You just don’t want me to have it.” argument is juvenile. It’s like a kid who’s parents won’t by them a toy.

How is that juvenile? I would like something and you are dead set against me having it because you don`t agree with it. What I want doesn`t effect you in the least but yet you still don`t want me to have it.

I’ll say this again so you can discount my opinion but validate your own opinion. I do not want mounts because I do not like the way look and I don’t like the extra screen clutter. Now if they were to do something like you mentioned, allow people to turn them off so they can’t be seen, that would be fine with me. If that wasn’t an option I don’t want them, not to keep you from having your toy, but because I don’t want to see them.

Well you kinda just hung yourself there with this paragraph didn`t you. It`s ok for me to have something I like as long as it conforms to your rules. Talk about juvenile.

So you can carry on here like you are the champion of the argument for mounts. I promise I’ll necro this thread and post here giving you full credit with “YOU WON! YOU WERE RIGHT!” when I see the mounts in the game. Until then I’ll let you continue to discount everyones opinions because they are not your opinion.

I am not trying to be any hero or champion. I am just discussing my feelings on the subject. I only discount other people opinions when it holds no water. From my standpoint, mounts in the game will have no negative effect because we already have swiftness. So it isn`t like we are having any kind of bonus over another player. If it makes the customer happy then why deny him something so simple.

You on the other hand don`t want just because you don`t like the way they look and don`t want to be bothered. That`s fine and all but don`t deny someone something over such a childish reason. Nobody has brought fourth one valid argument why mounts couldn`t be put into game that I didn`t have a solution for. But you guys stil argue even with solutions handed right to you. If that isn`t the definition of juvenile, I don`t know what is.

And why do people keep suggesting them when even the devs don’t want ‘em ? Just because the WoWers want some doesn’t mean the majority of the playerbase want that sillyness.

It could somehow work if you can’t fight with a mount, have them give no speed bonus and an ability to hide all mounts from other players, but still, I don’t want any.

It was already a silly grind in most games to get one. I prefer grinding my skins.

I don`t believe they ever said they didn`t want them. I think it was more like they didn`t plan on it. And of course combat wouldn`t be allowed on a mount. But they would give 33% speed that doesn`t stack buffs. And can be hidden. even with all that I`m sure people in your mindset would still find something to complain about.

We also keep suggesting it to let anet know that some people have credit cards they are willing to use for items they want. If they can`t see the profit that can made off fancy mounts, then too bad for them.

Holy necro’d thread batman!

We don’t need mounts. Why do people keep asking for them? Honestly, with WPs and asura gates and most professions having speed boosts, mounts would just be a waste. Is it just because WoW had them? Cuz you can always go play WoW. I hear they have Po in it now.

Also, one of the big important aspects of GW2 is its collection of DEs. If everyone is whipping around Tyria at +60% speed then nobody will even think about stopping for DEs or to help someone who’s fighting a group of enemies. It will reduce player-player cooperative play.

There is never waste when a customer is ready to put good money in your hand for something he wants. Good developers realize this and capitalize on it.

Some of you guys really think warcraft was the first mmo and it is so cute! Mounts were in 3d mmo`s long before warcraft was even a thought. I`ll bet you probably didn`t know some of the devs from eq helped make warcraft. Of course not, haha because warcraft was the first mmo ever!

Mounts could be the normal 33% run speed that we have now You just wouldn`t have to keep casting every 10 seconds. Do you really think a mount is going to make people ignore each other anymore then they already are? Cmon, be serious now. you are pulling for reasons but coming up pretty dry. Honest discussion only here.

I never played WoW, so forgive me if I misunderstand the purpose of mounts. If mounts are just a form of speed boost, then I really don’t see the point for them in GW2. There are skills and consumables for that, and once you have waypoints unlocked, travel time is instant for a small fee. Even without waypoints, I would bet that an already level 80 character could run from a starting city like Divinity all the way to cursed shore in practically very little time, assuming they didn’t stop to fight. And with speed consumables, that would just be that much faster. Mounts just don’t seem necessary.

There is also no point in grinding for skins when you already have functional armor. But why do people do it? Because they want to! Because they want to customize! Perhaps I don`t want to bother with consumables. Perhaps I`d like to travel on a mount because that`s what I`d like to do. It`s about immersion and options and the freedom to do what you like. You don`t have to like mounts in order to say you have no problem with people who like them having them. But most everyone because they don`t like something don`t want the people who do to have it.

1) Mounts would kitten off people in jumping puzzles
2) We have waypoints and asura gates to move around.
3) Mount are silly, horrible and useless junk
4) Did I say mounts are silly and I don’t want one? Never.
5) There will never be any mounts granting speed boost (we have skills for that) or that’d break so much content (such as jumping puzzles)
6) I prefer having a nice gear to distinguish my character to a silly mount that takes way too much space on my screen.

How exactly would a mount break a jumping puzzle if its the same speed boost as what we can already have? You just don`t want them because you don`t like so by what you say if you don`t eat mashed potatoes, nobody else is allowed to eat them. I already proposed a solution to hide them with a hidehelmet type setting for the people who couldn`t accept the visuals. Try to think up something better next time besides your own personal taste.

Incorrect Thinking

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Banewrath.5107

Banewrath.5107

I have seen this type of thinking in almost every game in the past14 years or so. I have even known guild leaders that would only award the kind of loot he wanted you to have to his guildmates. Didn`t matter if it was something you liked or wanted, you only got it if he felt it was best for the class you played. Good luck rolling for a 2 hander if your class should be using a shield because they will let the item rot before letting you take it.

Now since we can`t control the loot people get, we can control the people we group with if they don`t meet our expectations. Which I guess if fine. I`ve played with dps groups, weak dps groups, full support groups, and 3 and 4 manned some dungeons. I don`t expect every player that joins my runs to have a balanced build, but I would never kick or not play with someone over it. I always believed that character balance is more important and pays off in the longrun then the flavor of the month style of play. Sooner or later the nerf bat will come. They will either increase the viability of the other stat sets or the precious beserker is going to take a hit. Which do you want to happen?

I wouldn`t mind if they had a gemshop item that was only a dollar or two that would convert an existing armor skin into your own pve locker. Kind of like how they have the locker in the heart of the mists, you could access it through your hero panel.

I have the cultural set too on my character along with a mixed set I made. I`d like to be able to switch between looks and yet still retain the same stats on the armor.

What I always thought would be great as mounts in game would be racial skills / mounts. For example, a Norn could turn into a wolf (not Norn-wolf) and run about, or a Dolyak, Charr could whip out some kind of engineered contraption etc. I think if they were added, they wouldn’t add anything, and be used only for cosmetic purposes. Only thing now though is that people would be inclined to run places, rather than use Waypoints, which are in the game to provide a gold sink. It’s harder to implement than people think.

Fix "Champ Farming"

Ditto on what GrayFox said eloquently…

Just an observation, but the farmers (not all, but some) are turning into, how shall I put this delicately… quite the gangsters. That’s what it seems like to me anyway. How so? Well, how about when you’re running along trying to do a quest chain, and all of a sudden, one of these guys tells you “Hey, don’t kill that, we’re prepping it for the train…”

Uh, gee, I’m just trying to do the quest chain, because, you know, I’m just trying to have fun ‘adventuring’ as it were. But now the farmer/gangster is now saying “You better move on.”

A suggestion… perhaps Anet can create an a separate area (maybe like an overflow instance or like the Pavilion) that the “farmers” can go to at will so they can farm to their hearts content, and not prevent the other players from having fun running the adventures like it was meant to be run.

There are no camps, there are no claims to mobs in this game. The farmers can always head to the next mob if someone killed one out of sync with their train. This isn`t everquest where if you needed the books off the dragons and someone killed it would take a week for them to respawn. These things pop every 10 minutes or so. Not a big deal.

That would be Jennifer Hale, she voices both the female Sylvari characters and Queen Jennah.

So that is her name! Well Jennifer doesn`t know it yet but she is going to be my future wife if she looks half as good as she sounds haha! Just need to meet her father and barter a proposal to him to make the engagement. It`s been years since I`ve done this sort of thing though, How many dolyaks and how much iron ore would be an acceptable offer to her family for her hand?

To forge a Gift of Jennifer:

- 250 Dolyaks
- 250 Recordings of “this rose…”
- 250 Speeches of Queen Jennah
- 1 Skewered Zommoros

Good looking lady. I don`t have that many dolyaks though. That’s a list though, is she legendary or ascended? Will I be able to pick which stats she can enhance?
