Four years and still in great decline is GW2 WvW. I can’t hold on much longer waiting for a decent fix for WvW. I see no fun logging in to be farmed by a huge server and struggling to take a kitten tower back.
No I don’t think last place deserves a participation trophy, but come on this is just stupid and demoralizes the server. Anet I will give it to ya you sure know how to make people not want to play in WvW. I am starting to think your goal is to completely eliminate all of WvW from the game.
Server transferring is what killed WvW period. Blob servers will always be on the top and the low pop servers will always be at the bottom. Anet is inept at fixing anything in WvW and they also look at WvW as a red headed step child.
Four year of total failure is only proof Anet does not care and that it will never be fixed in a meaningful manner. GW2 is all about PVE and PVP nothing more than that at this point.
Well Anet has done went and screwed the WvW players again. The linking is working well for the T1 and T2 servers but is still punishing the lower Tier servers. Looks like Anet will be losing yet more WvW players that seem to be moving on to other games.
Four years and Anet still just can’t get WvW right.
No….The more they mess with WvW the more broken it becomes. The match-up system is a joke. four years later and it is still garbage is a good indication it will never be decent. So sadly I have moved on from GW2 a great game that the company in charge has no clue how to fix.
Try transferring to another server and be the one outnumbered for a change. After a few weeks you will quit the game. You will also find out how bad you actually play. Blobs mashing skill 1 is not skill whatsoever. Anet has no intention or real desire to fix WvW.
All servers are slowly dying one at a time. Being held captive fighting the same servers for months. All the broken cheese classes and just GW2 in general is boring as hell now days.
Anet thinks a fix is changing a few things to slow down what has been happening all along. Going on four years I think I am about over GW2 at this point. No way should any three servers have to fight each other for months.
WvW needs to be scrapped and something entirely new be implemented. The WvW player base shrinks daily because it is so broken.
It is the end of the road for WvW and it’s players. It is absurd to get stuck fighting the same servers month after month. This in itself creates cancerous forums and attitudes toward each other.
Lets face it WvW is never going to be fixed in any way shape or form. The entire WvW system needs to be overhauled with something completely new. Going on the 4th year of neglect to the WvW player base is bad service.
Now they are trying to salvage what WvW players they have left with insignificant changes. I can not support Anet any longer until real changes come about.
No one is moving to balance out anything. All I see on the few servers I play on is more people transferring to the winning tiers. They are slowing the process of totally destroying WvW but it is still happening.
Really people are actually playing PPT. All I read is how blob V blob should be the thing and not PPT as the game was intended. Nice to see someone actually give props the PPT. I have been on my server since launch and will remain. Server hoping for instant justification to win is sad. Then to see people boast about how good they are because they have the biggest blob server is laughable.
LOL Anet has magical influencing admin powers. I like the fact Anet is joining the fight and interacting with us. Some people will cry about anything get over it. I have fought with and killed a few Anet reps. The stupidity of anyone actually getting salty over this might want to start life over and grow up.
Don’t play the feel sorry for me routine. All servers have had Anet claim towers against them. This is some real self loathing posting going on here. I play multiple accounts and all servers dodge into a tower or keeps to survive and re-group.
This BS with NSP this HOD that DH blah blah blah is simply childish. It is a game plain and simple it’s not real life. Opponents and who you get linked with should be respected. Get over your self pity and hatred and have some kitten fun.
We had a death recently on NSP and the respect shown from all servers in the match was amazing. This dribble going on here is just ignorant.
I see Anet is now trying to go from 12 WvW servers down to 6. They take a few steps in the right direction then drop a nuke to mess up any progress achieved.

Yea because this was only done by outnumbered groups right? We should allow exploits now because someone thinks it helps them?
You must clearly be one of those band wagon transfer refugees. It has been in the game since launch so it clearly is not or was not considered an exploit. I have played since beta through the good, bad and ugly and have always remained loyal to my server and the people I play the game with.

To me going from 24 to 12 servers only increased the stale boring server fights we get locked into for months on end. If your at the bottom you will remain at the bottom if your at the top you will remain at or near the top.
I don’t know what the fix is but I do know this is getting seriously old and not fun anymore. The mass transfers killed WvW and I do not believe it can be re-balanced at this point. I am primarily a WvW player and I have just about lost hope for GW2.
The match up system is still so broken. I personally am getting sick of fighting the same 2 servers week after week. All the merging has done was kill the possibility of getting a fresh match every few weeks.
It now looks like it will take months to get a new match up. I really hope this is corrected sooner rather than later. It is making it hard to log in and repeat the same type of week that keeps on reoccurring like ground hog day.
I am not sure of a good fix suggestion but I for one hate the way it is currently.
Banning hackers and bots for a few months is not punishment. You need Sherlock Holmes to gather all the data Anet requires. Sadly the game is burning out for many people and just not worth the effort any longer.
You don’t get rid of them ever. Anet needs every customer they can keep at this point. HOD had hackers banned but only for four months. This was a small crew capping a BL in 10 minutes.
It is sad Anet needs customers so badly they will retain a handful who ruin game play for hundreds.
After 3-1/2 years nothing in WvW is close to what players want. I guess because Anet makes what they think is best for it’s players. We should happily accept what they deliver.
They can’t even fix stability let alone a so called “Major Overhaul”
A major population loss is in the balance when Anet screws this up. Many large guilds and many friends I know are giving the game 4 months max to see if Anet actually can fix WvW. No one has confidence as you can see what goes on as the OP has posted rumor or not.
Anet does not and will not listen to it’s WvW player base. If they actually listened to us our population wouldn’t be is such dire straights.
PVE players have more impact to WvW revisions than actual WvW players. The fact is WvW is the red headed step child controlled by an abusive stepfather and always will be.
The fact that certain servers have people who use programs such as HOD to cap an entire BL from under the map. They do this in 10-15 minutes Anet doesn’t do kitten about it. WvW is dead the game is fairly dead soon no one will have to worry because numbers keep dropping like a rock.
Sadly WvW is toast and no credible fixes in sight. The game for me is just about over at this point. I have seen a lot of people leave the game that I used to play with. The old days are gone and the game even with HOT is just stale. WvW was my enjoyment and now it is hard to even log on it’s so broke.
100 percent finished with this game. Anet lost 4 players from my household today. Three years of fun and sorrow excitement and let downs this and the WvW destruction is the end for us.
Not only is loot terrible to begin with they also managed to kill the rewards for map completion in the Bl’s. Just another way Anet shows it’s affection to WvW players.
I am from NSP and have only had two match ups in our own tier the past three months. We are constantly matched with T2 servers that we can’t compete with.
This is beyond frustrating and I really hope something is done soon.
Marmatt is just the target from an angry community that gets very little from Anet. The WvW community wants results not empty promises time and time again. We are the red headed step child that gets abused.
When you enjoy WvW even in it’s distorted state of brokenness any real help and solutions is all we want. But in reality all we get is the empty abyss of silence.
It is just another win for the bigger servers. The match-up system needs to be fixed. NSP and IOJ have been getting rolled by the blob servers we have been getting for months. When you loose week after week by over 300k it become old real fast.
I think everyone is just frustrated about the way the match-ups have been going. When a server can not compete with a blob server it gets old real fast. No way should these match-ups happen. I am on NSP and two servers are losing to the match-ups we have been getting by a long shot.
This is the judgement part because nothing gets fixed. This is the first Anet post I have seen in WvW forums in a long time.
Whatever you say fanboi….The hackers bots and all the other crap they don’t address is BS WvW is completely garbage in the state it is in atm. Oh boy siege razor a couple of garbage things that don’t mean squat like the out manned buff…now that is a joke. But I guess WvW is perfect and working as intended.
The proof of it working properly is in the declining WvW population.
I honestly don’t think they will do much for the WvW community at all. This is clearly evident from the way we get nothing for the past two years. It is quite sad all they do for this game is the living story. We get no attention from Anet except for a week of no white swords or something that is really irrelevant.
The match-ups have been really broken for months and they do nothing but let it continue week after week. I see a lot of people say it’s because they don’t make money from WvW in the gem store. I would buy stuff from the gem store more often if it was actually something good like upgraded siege or good looking armor. Anet is missing the boat with it’s WvW community.
I really hope they fix it soon though because it is getting harder and harder to log in.
I am gold rank and above level of most of our commanders. Rank does not show who is commanding. Also when did commanders become like NFL quarterbacks nearly untouchable by rules and regulation NTY…keep the rank imo.
anything at this point would be better than the 500k to 80k victories for the blob servers. This isn’t even remotely what WvW should be about. This is why we lose WvW players 24/7. I seriously don’t mind losing once in a while but when it has been like this for 2 solid months why even bother.
A lot of good ideas have been posted in WvW forums for a long time. The fact is Anet doesn’t care about it’s WvW player base. We are like the red headed step child that gets abused by the step dad. They need to rename the game because guild wars defiantly is not a fitting name for it any longer. I really don’t care if I get banned for speaking out at this point.
