So I made the mistake of addressing Anet in my thread.
Looking at his other lore videos, does anyone else think they Arenanet should pick him up? He’s really good at connecting dots and coming up with theories that make the world feel more complete (even if some of them don’t come true).

Hiring him would be a good move too. I know some of you at Anet must have watched GW2Daily. He’s really good at connecting dots and coming up with theories that make the world feel more complete (even if they aren’t at all true).
I hope to see more story in the free content updates and expansions that improves on what we’ve seen in GW2.
It’s kinda weird, but it’s not noticeable while leveling. I wonder why they made this decision? I assume it has to do with making it easier to work on the maps simultaneously and also probably a bit easier when programing DEs. A square zone makes for an easy coordinate system when programming, and the artists did a really great job hiding it while running around.
Hmm. Yeah, I really thought event difficulty would ramp up until we eventually failed. Especially when it gets stuck at the most-winning end.
/age please. Give us your time played.
Also, have a ceiling on gear stats is amazing.
Besides your issue with a no-energy system, you’re complaining that GW2 doesn’t allow for gimmicky team comps? I’m thankful it doesn’t.
Just did AC Ghost Eater and CM Frost(Asuran? Not sure what to call it). Both were an awesome time.
People don’t get that they aren’t committed to keep playing through a subscription fee. Attention people: you’re allowed to stop playing for a bit. Play another game. If it takes you a year to get level 80, you got your money’s worth.
You should try communicating with your friends what times you will be on. Steam, IM, Facebook, Email, heck… you could even call them.
So yesterday I play this game I think you’d like. It’s called Guild Wars 1.
How are you people reading up on Guild Wars 2 before buying it and suddenly being shocked when you find out that the game is exactly like ANet said it was be? If you were keeping on on the game’s development, if you were reading what ANet was saying for the past 3 years, you should have known that what you’re looking for is completely absent from GW2. “The Endgame Reimaged” was just an amalgam of information that ArenaNet has been giving us about the game’s content since it was announced.
So why didn’t you know this stuff? Why did you buy this game thinking that the “endgame” was going to be like every other MMO out there? Why didn’t know know that the combat gets rid of the trinity? How do you not know that traits and a chosen build aren’t the only determining factor on how good a player is, that they avoided those “cookie-cutter” layouts you look for in party members in WoW on purpose because a person’s build doesn’t determine how good they are at the game? And for that matter, how did you not know that this game is more skill-based than gear-based or spec-based?
I’m pretty sure you lied about “scouring the web for a glimpse of this game’s content for the last 2 years”, because if you did, you wouldn’t be surpirsed upon learning that this game is exactly what ANet said it would be.
I <3 You! I couldn’t have said it better myself. The game isn’t without its issues, but people were seriously expecting way too much.
it wont be very fun for very long if you play a lot. Especially when characters models aren’t loading,
So you’re complaining about character models not loading, but you want open world PvP?
It’s only happening when it’s ZvZ – at least for me – an open PVP server would never have that.
LMAO what? Have you ever really played an open PvP game? Are you telling me there were never zergs in the open PvP areas? You’re crazy. I think Anet should close this post.
They aren’t going to spend time making a new game experience for 1% of the population. No matter how good of an argument you think you can make. They aren’t even going to consider it for years to come. And I won’t say “never” because they might 6-10 years from now. You should go play something else until then.
Yeah, close all the threads made by the guys in full exos with nothing to do. No endgame is a personal opinion, right? The new Jormag event and flashy cinematics/cutscenes will keep the game entartaining, right? It’s not like the frontpage of the forum is slowly getting filled with people complaining about endgame, right? Game is fine guys, move along. Christ.
I have to ask at this point, what about Guild Wars 2 makes you care so much about it’s “failure” or “success”? Is it just because you bought the game and didn’t feel you got your money’s worth? or is it because there is something you actually LIKE about the game? Because it seems you don’t like any of it.

What? We have 2 interrupts. Kinda OP. Plus, in PvE, grapple line + booby trap can equal an easy rally.
I was really planning on playing an asuran warrior, but after seeing how overly scaled-down the weapons are, I decided against it. I don’t want the weapon to be Norn or even Human sized, but the current scale is just awful.
I’ve tried every set of ears and a bunch of different customization and I can not get ears to match these. Anyone else want to give it a shot and tell me what you did?
It’s especially annoying because this NPC is in combat and you can’t turn on combat in character creation. I’d appreciate the help!
I actually found heavy lionguard armor on some heart vendors, but it’s labeled as Vigil.
The medium armor they have looks nothing like the the medium armor the lionguards wear (and it’s also labeled vigil). I really want that medium lionguard coat. I wish it was on a karma vendor in LA like the weapons are.
With all the complaints about difficulty, this post is a diamond in the rough.
I 100% agree that the cost of dungeon armors is a bit too high.
I can guarantee you that it’s not a 50/50 split. The people on these forums who yell that dungeons are fine are a minority.
The first solution is to make StoryMode dungeons easier.
So average players can actually do them, finish them, have fun, and see the Stories. What happens with ExplorationMode dungeons is another issue. I can’t say, because I am not level-80, and I haven’t seen them. In general, I am fine with hardmode dungeons being hard. But StoryMode should be easy. Easier than they are now. They should require a little effort during the run. But they should not require preparation, reading guides, having the proper build, having good gear, or locking you into using one particular weapon or play-style. They should not require guildies/friends only, nor voicecom. Easy mode should be easy.
The problem is that, aside from AC (and some bugs in other dungeons), story mode is not all that difficult. Not being able to do it on the first time with an uncoordinated group does not mean it’s difficult. Even if it’s story mode, it shouldn’t be a wash. That wont teach anyone anything. I think most people get turned off by AC because it is the first dungeon, and it is one of the more difficult ones.
Story mode isn’t “easy” mode. It’s “normal”. 90% of the PvE in the game is already “easy” mode.
Engineer rifle spells and warrior rifle spells seem to be backwards.

Engineers are the only class who can’t reliably fight at 1200 range without using traits.
Guardian?
This is well written and pretty much covers all my complaints.
The one problem I see about this is the lack of customization and relationship/similarities to the Norn (having two races that can be bears would be a little odd).
The Kodan are a pretty amazing race lore and design wise though, I hope something more is done with them in future expansions.
The way I see possible future races going, in relation to importance and depth of lore, however is:
Tengu: The opening of Cantha/fighting of Primordus (they already have their city mapped out on the map)
Norn can turn into birds too.
Keep it as is. None of the vistas are even that hard to get to.
Unfinished compared to what exactly?
Just because it doesn’t have all the options you want (or I want), doesn’t mean it should be designated “unfinished”

For general PvE I find the grenade kit to be too much of a chore on land, but it’s fun underwater.
Maybe not all kits, but I think it would be good for Bomb, Tool, and possibly Elixir.
To people saying it would be OP:
Allow weapon stats effect kits and then adjust the kits to compensate. Not that complicated.
Cooldowns should be reduced when you pick them up, and increased when you explode them (and make the explosion more powerful).
Flame Blast on flamethrower is really buggy. If you’re on slightly uneven terrain, your character will just shoot it in the ground and you get the “obstructed” text. For a skill that kinda hard to hit optimally, it needs to be reliable.
Yeah. I have my utility skills set to E,R,T, but it just feels really weird after playing characters with normal weapon swaps
If I’m thinking right here, changing weapon swap function to “swap to last weapon set” for everyone would make it work the same as it does now for people with 2 weapon sets, and feel much better for us engis.
I would love this. Just like “Q” in TF2.
It’s really annoying going between characters and having “~” only switch once.
I’m constantly hitting ~ to try to reequip my last used kit after I just used it to switch to my main weapons.
this would be an awesome feature for ele’s too.
Just like turrets, minions need to not attack until you attack, are being attacked, or they are being attacked.
We also really need the option to dismiss.
For a brief time during one of the beta events they didn’t degen health. They should just die in one hit, but remain at full health until then.
So glad I found this. I’ve been waiting to use those slots. Still a little nervous, but excited and thankful. <3 Anet.
