how can i put to show FPS and video memory ?

I run Process Explorer and brought up a monitor window for the game. The GPU tab has game only GPU % and memory usage (also tracks disk usage, threads, game’s CPU %). Yes it’s not OSD but it graphs the last several minutes of activity.
RIP City of Heroes
Yes it is. I tried this and went one step farther to see which port had all the game traffic on and it was the one with, for me, the 90ms ping and not the 240/280ms ping which had only a few hundred bytes transferred in total.
RIP City of Heroes
Totally off topic but 45 fps? Maaan, I’d love to have a laptop with that…
It’s a desktop.

Layoff the Redbull, stop trying to maximize your gold/hr and you don’t encounter this.
RIP City of Heroes
Option 1 is your best choice.
RIP City of Heroes
The game can easily get CPU limited. With a powerful GPU like what you have, adjusting game settings will have no affect at all on frame rate.

Not sure if it’s a bug, font scaling at the TP, they can fix. I think the mini browser is a 3rd party piece of software. It may be part of an entire MMO cash shop/market infrastructure software package they license.

You should have received an e-mail from them at the e-mail address you told them when you opened your account. Check the spam and junk folders as some e-mail providers have classified ArenaNet mail wrongly as spam.
Otherwise click on support at the top of the page and open a ticket asking them about it directly (via ask a question). Be polite.

Actually last reported quarter. 2nd quarter, the game had sales of roughly $9 million USD a month not $3 million.
Well, I am confused. It does show Sales Break down by game, and it shows 28,899,000,000 KRW (Which is ~$26 Million in US Dollars, which is a little less then $9Million per month) But in their sales by subsidaries, it shows Arenanet sales were at 11,459,000,000 KRW (~$10 Million).
Ah, you know what, NC Interactive (NCSoft West), publisher of GW2 and technically the parent company for the West probably also takes in a part of those sales.
It’s my belief that NCWest and NCEurope get a share for box and gem card sales at retail that go toward their sale totals. ANet gets their cut of the box sales plus all the direct online sales including online gem sales that go to their sales.

For a cash shop to pay the bills you need a lot of players since only a relatively small percentage will buy items for cash.
So unless the “hardcore” is willing to step up with their wallets then more the merrier and that means casual players.
RIP City of Heroes
GW2’s quarterly sales
3Q 12 = 45,841
4Q 12 = 119,013
1Q 13 = 36,382
2Q 13 = 28,899
(unit: millions of Korean won which is about 1,100 to a US dollar)

As I stated in previous threads on this topic, it could also be there to improve the TP response for all players. Selling and picking up goods requires more DB work than a simple query or buy orders do. Putting a “speed limit” on selling makes the TP more robust for everyone.
This isn’t Amazon with their 127th fastest supercomputer in the world, there’s a limit to how much ANet is willing to spend on the TP server and it’s easier to put a limit on it than spend significantly more money so everyone can sell faster than 15 items per minute.

The Level 80 transmutation crystals rarely if ever drop, the Level 79 and under transmutation stones I have hundred plus of from map clears and the occasional daily/monthly and that’s just from two characters.
Crystals are only 40 to 50 cents apiece but obviously it’ll add up and the influx of gold to gems will skyrocket the exchange rate. But that just might backfire and drive players away. The only upside is that it’ll take a long time to craft each item if the T7 mats are like charged crystals. It should prevent a shock to the gem exchange.

Hi I’m getting a Ferrari, do you think it’ll do well on a highway? Make people feel their rigs are inadequate why don’t ya.
Of course it’s going to do great in most games with the only limiting factor being the resolution of your display(s). You have an overclocked top of the line Intel CPU, a flipp’n nVidia Titan and a large SSD.
Assuming you aren’t putting it up on a wall of monitors and pick your culling settings I don’t see why you won’t get 30fps in WvW zergs.
RIP City of Heroes
I was in lions arch too.
1024×768
1280×720
1920×1080
3840×2160
All are getting 18 FPS on maximum settings. On the lowest details with 1920×1080 -> only 23 Fps.System:
Intel Core i7 3770 HyperThreading disabled.
16 GiByte DDR3-1600 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 670 current whql driver.
Samsung 830 256 GByte
Well this is a sure indication that you’re CPU bound right now. We’ve been saying for months now, lots of players in one place equals low frame rate. Stand on some desolate hill top somewhere and I bet your frame rate will be much better.

All I can recommend is if you have the game installed on a normal HD is to defrag it, looking at drive activity even standing still the game is still hitting the HD for a lot of data. Additional seeks due to fragmentation may be a reason for the performance loss and low CPU utilization.
On my quad I’m seeing 60-70% CPU utilization for just the game. So while not unique, your low CPU usage, it’s not universal.
RIP City of Heroes
WoW and Skyrim are different games with different engines, to compare them to GW2 is like comparing an Austin Mini to a Ferrari because they are both cars and complain they perform differently.
Without your system specs and a screenshot of your in game graphic settings their isn’t anything anyone can recommend to help you improve performance.

I was checking mine last night. /IP gets the server and PingPlotter had me at 70-75ms.
Ricky, if you simply do a host trace to anything (google, espn) you see it always starts in Germany. Doing a proxy trace first goes to Germany and then back to your target. It’s a cute tool but pointless.

5g for 100 Gems will be available when the Gold to Gem rate is 100 Gems for 6.92g. About 30-35% higher than now. Should be there by Xmas if not Thanksgiving.

If they had 250 employees this game would have a lot more features then it does now. Like trading a year into release.
Player to Player trading facilitates RMT commerse and avoid the primary gold sink the game has. Why would ANet want to do this?
RIP City of Heroes
At the very least you should be able to turn up the game settings a lot until the GPU starts to push back. Remember reflections and shadows are more CPU than GPU.
RIP City of Heroes
The gold to gem ratio will rise or fall depending on gem store sales and the current inflation of gold in the game. The easier gold is to acquire, the more gold it takes to convert into the same number of gems.
Wrong. As long as more Gems are bought at the exchange than sold to it, the rate will rise. The only thing an increase in the money supply does is to have more gold available that could be spent buying Gems. However if there isn’t anything a lot of players want with Gems then the exchange rate stays about the same regardless how much more gold is in the active economy.
This big jump in the rates is solely driven by the 10 day say of items that were available for a limited time such has the infinite harvesting tools or F&F weapon skins. Players are pouring every copper into Gems to reduce the amount of real money they would need to spend to acquire enough Gems for all the limited time items they want. But by doing so they are simply driving the exchange rate even higher.
RIP City of Heroes
What happen was the supply was drained down pretty far, from 2,633 at 8:55p EDT with lowest sale price at 9s20c to 420 at 9:57p EDT with lowest sale price at 35s10c. This might just be some very old and high price items for sale.
At 12:31a EDT there’s now a supply of 817 with a lowest sale price of 11s13c. Buy offers haven’t changed much, up like 14c over this this time period.

It also happens when I summon my Mesmer clones… they show up as faceless black clones with grey armor on -_-
That’s the new culling system in action. Clones and Phantoms shouldn’t be counted toward the display limit.
What is this “Culling System?”
It use to be that the server determined in PvE which players would be displayed as a way to improve performance. They were either there or invisible with a name hovering over where they are. Players hated the fact they couldn’t see all the players.
So ANet in the last patch introduced client side culling code that allows you to set, in broad terms (5 settings from low to highest), how many players could be visible at one time and how many of them will show their actual character or just a generic placeholder model based on race and profession (but oddly not gender). Set the settings low, nearly everyone is a generic model. Too high and frame rate suffers even more in crowded areas than before.
Sadly mesmer clones are also affected by this. I run a mesmer too and am annoyed by this.

Weird E is likely just a unicode font error. Let me go find some drudge to see if this is universal.
Edit. Yea it’s a font mapping issue on your end. It’s suppose to be a dot separator. Probably some combination of screen resolution, font size and desired type and the OS picked a “closest font” that has that cap E bar instead of a dot in that character location.

Anything right of the left bar and bellow the top bar is simply a scaled bit map. Choosing smaller than normal makes them unreadable, at least here they’re just ugly.
This has to do with the TP actually being a browser in a separate task and it has no way to be told it has a larger or smaller window to render into.
RIP City of Heroes
Well I should have added a :p if I knew that one line will get quoted so much.
My first character also ran green with only a yellow or two from drops or armor boxes via the laurel vendor, right up until I visited a temple in Orr. Of course now I can twink any new characters to the best available at their level up to and including exotic sets from the TP.
And it appears somebody wants to illustrate the “push sellers off market” with my big pile of gold as CuteLil points out with mass 19s and 20s bids on all ecto salvageable armor. Fortunately ecto prices have risen to compensate with the increase cost of “raw” materials as supplies drop off, showing that salvagers are being pushed out for mean time.

The PSU is OK but, and I hate it when they do this, it’s really a 500 watt continuous, 600 watt peak.

Even so you can easily double the power use of the GPU which gets you in the GTX 660/HD 7850 range of card (the GTX 660 is faster unless you get the 2GB HD 7850 GHz edition which then comes close to a tie). The GTX 660, 2GB HD 7850 GHz OC version and the 2GB HD 7870 GHz edition are all at the top end of your budget at NewEgg. The HD 7870 does use a bit more power than the other two and uses 2, 6-pin PCIe power connectors.
So lets step down a bit. At the $150-160 range (sans rebate) you could get an overclocked 1GB GTX 650 Ti BOOST or a stock clock 1GB HD 7850. Both these cards have roughly twice the performance of a stock GTX 650/HD 7750.
I am talking general gaming performance. This game is “special”. The i5-760 is still a very good CPU and mainly falls behind the current i5 CPUs in performance due to clock speed. Of course that clock difference plus 3 generations of improvements does make it 40% slower than the i5-4670K and 30% slower than the i5-3570K. But a “guts” upgrade is going to cost you more than $200 and you would still be stuck with a slow GT 240. Upgrading the video card will likely move you from GPU limited in GW2 to CPU limited.
Hope this is somewhat helpful.

People always overlook the fact you have to do the PvP tutorial first before you get to the area with the portal to Lion’s Arch. It only takes like 5 minutes to do but if you go looking for the LA portal when you haven’t unlocked the PvP area first it’s confusing.
Also don’t forget, waypoints in cities are free within the city.

Bottlenecking the GPU with GW2 isn’t really a problem with most newer cards.
How much are you willing to spend and can your setup’s power supply provide the power needed. The GT 240 is only a 70 watt card. A GTX 650 is rated at 68 watts and has 3x the shakitten ower, 2x the texture and 4x the pixel fillrate. Also about 50% more graphics memory bandwidth. And that’s the “safe” choice since it fits into the same power envelope as the GT 240.

I have two in Shiverpeak mountains that are going to be annoying.

My patch was only a few hundred files and it only took two minutes which would be about 40MB.
If you are so concern about usage overruns I strongly suggest you make a backup of the game after every patch. This way if something wonky happens you can restore the game and try the patch again.
