I can see it now, next patch:
- Increased drop rates of Carrots in PvP by 1000%
I can’t say I wasn’t tempted…
I was pretty sure it has been 15 games per week from the start. The above quote sounded like he was just throwing out 10 as an example since it is easy to calculate and comprehend multiples of 10.
Yes.
It’s showing Top 250 is now minimum 1349 rating. Is this because people are quitting PvP?
The games played requirement updated. Whenever this happens, you’ll see a big leaderboard shift as people who don’t have the minimum get knocked out. New people don’t get added to the board until they’ve played a game, so it takes a little while for things to normalize again.
I think they arent unlocked if you dont have HOT. Either that or theres a tab that sells non hot stat trinkets. Theres something about that on wiki i think
Have hot, there is only 1 tab.
If you have HoT, we hide the Central Tyrian vendor to prevent people from buying the wrong item.
I just checked the Mist Talisman and it definitely has the HoT stats as options.
NEW: Sigil of Ruthlessness: Gain 5 might (3 seconds) when interrupting a foe.
Although, I’d be the first to add the “on interrupt” sigil to my build. This screams for an ICD!!
Agreed.
As the topic says, is there any intention of anet to add other legendary backpacks requiring the spending of league tickets to obtain or are we free to spend them on ascended backpacks and llamas?
There are no current plans for a new backpack. But that does not mean never.
It was announced. We actually had this in at the end of last season, with a much smaller number, since it wasn’t announced at the start. For this season the total games needed to get on the leaderboard goes up by 15 each week.
I just took a look at EU leaderboard and saw that numbers 2 Metrix and Sindrener are not ranked numbers 1 and 2 respectively. I also saw that the game requirement changed from 15 to 30. I tought that u simply needed to play a minimal of 15 games in general to get a position at the leaderboard. Is my leaderboard bugged? Or did I misunderstood the game requirement for the leaderboard? does it change weekly? What are the rules regarding to the leaderboard and maintaing that position?
The number of required games goes up every week.
So a dual longbow with the animation of the character head banging each time they shoot a bow?
I can imagine rapid fire right now with dual longbows on a ranger!
Thanks for the image Ben, it cannot be unseen….
Perhaps I will suggest it to Karl as a new elite spec. Heavy Metal Ranger.
I know this is a pvp discussion, but I have a question for Anet. Are theese changes going to hit pvE someday? or, alternatively, considering the massive split between pve and pve sigils that will come from this patch, will this open the opportunity for the skill & balance team to make PvE sigils stronger and more impactful without fear of pvp balance?
The skills & balance team can make whatever changes to the PvE sigils they see fit without affecting PvP sigils.
Do you have a timeline of when this update will ship? Will we see it during S6? Before S7? End of 2017? When?
We have a few target dates, which we can’t share yet. But definitely not during S6. Especially considering we’ll need to work with the Skills & Balance team to make skill changes in support of these changes.
Does this mean sigils are going to do different things in different game modes? In WvW sigil of blood will be as is, and in PvP it will leech life on weapon swap or something?
We haven’t yet decided on whether we should create new sigils or revise the old ones in PvP only. All together new sigils brings some extra overhead. New icons, new names (editing, localization, etc.) But it makes things a lot more clear.
But you need 2 hands to shoot a bow
Dev just confirmed, dual wielding longbows coming to the game! You saw it here guys, it’s real! No take-backsies!
I literally just told McKenna that this was going to be a response. Thanks.
But you need 2 hands to shoot a bow
There is a fix in the works. Soon™.
We pushed a fix for this out yesterday. Let us know if you’re still having trouble!
Why was the Mending change only in spvp? It’s arguably the worst heal on Warrior right now and the recharge reduction would help it quite a lot. Classifying it as a Physical would also make it sort of like Mirror (traited) with Warriors being traited for Physical skills.
Edit: The only other thing that bothers me patch wise is Time Warp still being at 180 seconds to recharge, I think with Wells, it’s sort of made redundant to have with how long it takes to recharge. 80-90 seconds would probably see it getting more use.
Structured PvP and PvE game modes have different balance needs. There are a lot of changes that we make initially to fulfill the needs of the sPvP that could, after additional evaluation make it to other game modes.
•Disconnecting from a PvP match will now add additional respawn time calculated from maximum possible downed bleed duration for a maximum of 30 seconds. Reconnecting to a PvP match with a respawn time will result in death.
Sorry my english is not the best, but can somebody preferably a dev confirm wheter I am right or wrong at this one and in case correct me if needed.
What I get from it is that if u disconnect is that your respawn time is the equivelant of your character bleeding out+30 seconds maximum? and then if u come back within that timeframe u die?
Yeah, we had an issue where people could disconnect and log back in and if they had a fast drive, could get back into the action faster than intended. This change puts a stop to that.
I found the issue. Fix will be incoming asap.
We’re already investigating this one. Thanks for your patience!
What you observed is intended behavior.
We’re investigating.
I’m investigating now.
We just received word from CS that the title items have been resent via in-game mail. Some players may receive the item, even if they already successfully got their title. This is fine.
If you still don’t have a title and you earned one, feel free to contact us and we’ll investigate further.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear the items will be going out today. Stay tuned and sorry for the wait.
Any new news, Ben?
The work is done, we’re just working with CS to arrange resending out the items.
I don’t understand how the matchmaking would be more “accurate” if yes win; it will be just profession based instead of account based, or am I missing something?
The idea is that, just because you are a great mesmer, doesn’t mean you know how to play a revenant well. If the professions were locked we could place you into a match that reflects your skill with that class.
What do you think? Should top stats affect rating loss/gain? What if by gaining all top stats in a losing team the player loses no points at all?
No. I don’t want to encourage people to go after top stats over winning the game.
I have a fix for these rings and for Mystic Forging the armor submitted. I can’t say when it will make its way to live, but the fix is on the way.
We also should have the League title situation resolved by the end of the week.
We’ll have a fix for this soon.
The problem seems to have been accepting the title in custom arenas. So if you haven’t accepted your title yet, just make sure to do it in the PvP lobby.
We should have a change to the title items going in soon™. Once that change goes in, we may have further instructions for anyone who didn’t get their title.
I have a change for this coming in a future release.
Bump in hopes the devs will see this and fix it soon.
Quick summary:
- infused Mist Band can’t be attuned
- ascended PvP armor (Ardent Glorious) can’t interact with the Mystic Forge for stat change, nor can it be salvaged
- icons for both Mist Band and Mist Amulet are falsely displayed as Bloodstone trinkets
I have a fix for this coming in the not too distant future.
I really hope min games for next season will be at least 100 matches.
but thanks for doing this now.
We were thinking something like 10 per week, but it is configurable. We could to 1 a day, 20 per 2 weeks, etc.
The only problem with 10 per week is if people going on vacations for a week and failing the requirement,
So it could be every 2 weeks at least with a minimum total amount of at least 100 please.
The cutoff works just like dishonor in that if you come back and play those 10 games, you’ll go right back on the leaderboard. If you go on vacation a week before the season ends, well, then decay will remove you anyways.
So if I understand this correctly, someone could play just enough games to meet the minimum total requirement and place high on the leaderboards, AFK the entire rest of the season, then come back and play 10 more ranked games a day or two before the season ends and still keep their rank near the top? Or is this a 10 games per week thing where if they stop playing for say 7 weeks they have to play 70 games to get back on the leaderboard? Because I don’t think the prior is all that fair to the people who do play everyday and are risking their MMR every day.
The total is cumulative. If it’s 10 per week and an 8 week season, you need to have played 80 games by the end of the season.
Evan has a fix for this. Should be in tomorrow.
Hey folks!
Just a quick note. Sometime today, we’ll be unpinning Eternal Coliseum from Unranked map selection.
Another note: This doesn’t mean the map is pulled from rotation. It now just won’t always be one of the maps available to be voted on.

I’ll try investigating this more, but from what I undestand your decayed rating doesn’t determine who you are matched against. So in theory, when you came back you were still playing against gold players. Your decayed rating only affects your leader board position and nothing else.
This is correct. Decay does not affect your matchmaking. With our current decay settings, you can work off your decay in 7 games.
Hey folks,
We’ve seen a few questions about this, so I wanted to let everyone know. We will not be turning off the Year of the Ascension achievements. It will still be possible to work towards the Ascension backpack/glider in Season 6 and beyond.
Thanks!
Ben
After an internal review, we’ve decided that awarding points for achievements that are this exclusive goes against the intent and spirit of our achievement system. We’ll be removing the points on these in a future release.
We announced this a while back:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Update-on-PvP-Map-Achievements/first
Thanks for the reports! We’re aware of the problem and are working to get it resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience!
