Its still being worked on. We don’t really have an ETA on when it’ll finally be ready for the big show. Hopefully in the coming weeks, but we can’t commit to anything yet.

We have to make sure this change is developed and tested with the continued server-side optimizations to make sure we release it in a stable and enjoyable state. The last thing we want to do is turn off culling, only to introduce issues elsewhere.

The server-side optimizations I’m referring to is most commonly seen as “skill lag” during massive battles. Hope this helps clear things up a bit

I’m sure we’ll evaluate any additional bugs with multi monitor play and get those addressed in a future update. Until then, addressing the “skill lag” issues are my number 1 priority.

Fixes included in the build tomorrow (and I’m not sure if there are release notes):

  • UI placement is now semi customizable for surround/eyefinity users.
    • Start the client up using “-uispanallmonitors” to have the UI spread across all monitors. We may make this a graphics option in the future (I made it an argument passed to the game so we could get this out asap)
  • UI scaling is now fixed for surround/eyefinity users

If you’re having the issue where the UI is on the wrong screen, see my previous post:

If the UI is on the wrong screen, make sure your center screen is setup as your primary display. I believe this is set in the Windows resolution settings or the Eyefinity setup wizard.

In regards to the concerns with the change to UI placement and scaling, don’t worry, I’m not ignoring them. I’ll look into making it possible for players running Nvidia or Amd to be able to place the UI on the main screen or span all of them, as well as fixing the UI scaling issue. I cannot promise anything at this time or a delivery date, just that I will look into these issues.

I’m glad you all are passionate about the game and your experience. The last thing we want to do is ruin that.

Regarding issues with multi-monitor setups, the best method to voice your concerns or ask technical questions are to use the Tech Support forums.

Regarding the switch to “cram” the UI on the center screen:
This is how the UI has always functioned on Nvidia Surround. We never had support for AMD graphics until now, so now they both function the same, using the same code.

If there are issues with the current functionality like the UI not scaling correctly at different sizes, we’ll look into it.

It sounds like your Gw2.exe somehow got corrupted while patching. Connectivity loss or a system restart during the patching process could do this.

To resolve this, I would grab a new Gw2.exe from https://account.guildwars2.com/account/download (It’ll download as Gw2Setup.exe)

You can then rename it from “Gw2Setup.exe” to “Gw2.exe” and replace your old one from “D:\game\Guild Wars 2\”

Oh, hi!

I’ve just put in some support for AMD Eyefinity to address the UI placement and Cinematics scaling issues (Character Select, Character Creation, and Cinematics included).

Overgrown Grub not attacking back

The bug is repeatable.

Stand at max distance and range him. He won’t aggro until you are closer, or another joins in and gets too close.

You can solo kill him if you fight the whole time at range. But it can reset if you get too far away, stop attacking, or anything. Reset makes you start all over.

If you have an entire group, and everyone stays at range, grub does nothing. But any pets will ruin it.

It is more of a challenge trying to kill it with not aggroing it. lol. Kinda fun too.

Oh. Thanks for explaining how to recreate it, I hope it catches the attention of a developer.

Ahhh… The spotting of the elusive Land Shark.

Arrgghh I remember the days where these sharks were bound to the seas. Never in my day did I expect to see them sprout legs and wonder the land of Tyria.

The issue with these guys was a pretty risky fix. I got a fix in to keep them in their cave a couple weeks back, but it affects the whole game and not just them. We’ve been letting this change get plenty of testing before setting it wild. It’ll make it into our Wintersday build later this week.

This is by design. We cap the frame-rate in non-gameplay views. Previously, on a mid-high end rig, the frame-rate would reach numbers of 500 or higher (I was getting 2300 FPS in Character Select). This would cause your computer hardware to overwork itself, or in some situations, overheat and/or make an extremely obnoxious whining noise.

I believe cinematics, character create/select and loading screens are all hard-capped at your monitor’s native refresh-rate.

Believe me, hearing the deathly sound coming from my video card scared the life out of me.

We’ll have this fixed in an upcoming build in the next day or so. We’ve reverted the change back to not remove Trait line stat boosts. Traits themselves will still remain inactive with these types of transformations (as they always have), but that will be completely fixed in the Wintersday build so we can do proper balance testing on that change.

Interesting. It looks like the Trait “Electric Discharge” is the cause of this. It causes you to attack your target when attuning to Air if you have it slotted. It still fires off the Auto-Attack functionality because Air Attunement is still being considered as a skill that attacks a target (regardless of actually attacking or not).

I’ll take a look at this tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Sorry that nobody has responded to this bug sooner!

Running the game with -windowed will allow you to launch it in windowed mode, overriding any resolution or refresh rate settings.

Additionally you can delete the Local.dat file located in “C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Guild Wars 2” which contains all graphics settings.

I can assure we are looking into it.

The issue regarding the regeneration trait being spotty is that Phantasms don’t apply it to themselves, but in an AoE around them (ignoring themselves). So if you have more than 1 Phantasm close to each other, they’ll apply it to each other (plus you and other nearby allies).

There were several crash fixes (client and server) in this build, including 3 server crashes in the Fractals. There was also a client crash related to armor repairing while transformed that was common in the Fractals which has also been fixed.

We’re working on it. It was an intended change to certain types of transforms (for things like activities, etc) so you can’t have any active traits while the transform is active. There was a bug where trait line buffs (stat boosts) were still active, while minor and major traits were disabled.

A few transforms like Moa, and Ride The Lightning were unintentionally and negatively affected by this change.

We’ll have this fixed soon.

Currently you don’t interact with the panel, you just approach it and Oola’s hologram will appear. You interact with her and must pass her quiz to finish the skill challenge.

I’ve reset this SC for all of the worlds mentioned above.

Once the big November update hits, you will be able to interact with the gadget like most people (including me) would expect it to work.

Even if you walk all the way up to the control panel? She should appear once you get extremely close.

I saw this and still thought it was confusing and changed it so you interact with the control panel to spawn her. This will be in the big November update which is coming soon.

The entry to this area is southwest of the Fort Trinity Waypoint and at the north entrance to Caer Aval. There is no marker for the instance entry like you’d normally see for Story steps, so just approach the door and you’ll get the prompt.

Once you’re in, he should be spawned straight ahead. If you don’t see him, wait around for a couple minutes and he should appear.

NPC still broken. (3+ weeks now) NPC just lays there dead. Unknown if it ever worked when server came up from update.

Sadly this one will be broken until our next update. The issue here was found after we got the fix in that I mentioned last week. Luckily, this is the only one that was affected by this issue.

Sadly Bill, your company seems to have lied to its customers. This was meant to be fixed in the update 2 days ago, according to the post 11 days ago.

The past couple updates were unscheduled emergency builds to address issues that came up. Our next scheduled content update build is the upcoming Halloween build. I do apologize for the confusion, but I assure you that the skill challenge will be fixed in that build.

As you can see, it wasn’t just an issue with the skill challenge itself, but an underlying issue that was affecting almost all skill challenges and even some events.

Sorry to hear these guys are causing trouble. The initial design of them was to give players a challenge when trying out new builds before playing PvP matches. I definitely want to revisit their balancing and get them to fight as close to human players as possible.

I don’t have an ETA on when this balancing will happen, but its definitely on my to-do list .
