Condi removal and stun breakers. Never leave home without ’em!
I doubt the Marionette will come back the way it was. With Scarlet dead, I doubt Anet will bring back many, if any, of her minions. However, with the popularity of the Marionette, I wouldn’t be surprised if they made it a new character with different champions.
Anet is very against modding your game at all. They don’t allow mods or the use of macros (that aren’t 1 action = 1 key press). Do not risk your account for anything shady or the least bit questionable.
The only time it really bothers me is when people type in fragments.

I’ve been on the internet long enough to ignore trolls and stupid comments. If the map decides to play the Quaggan Movie Title game, I just turn off map chat.

So were coming on two weeks after feature patch
They spent four weeks building up to the Feature Pack. Another two isn’t going to kill you.
According to Anet’s statement at the beginning of the year about feature patches and living story ones, we should actually expect to get a new living story update on Tuesday the 29th.
Condition damage isn’t used because the “big numbers” aren’t shown with direct damage, it’s the fact how any stack applied after 25 is ignored and because of that condition damage is utterly broken and useless in PvE.
This problem has been pointed out several times, but apparently ArenaNet refuses to fix it.
Anet is actually trying to change it right now. They recently removed the cap of 25 stacks and it crashes their servers every time. I’m sure they are looking into other ways to get the most out of condi damage in PvE its just a shame how long its taken them.
Ran into a Ranger that is putting about 20 stacks of vulnerability on you in about two seconds and a Warrior putting 25 stacks of bleed almost instantly. The Ranger wasn’t too bad because if you could let that stacks run out or clear them before his pet got to you, it was a waste for him. The Warrior however was pretty tanky and could keep about 5 stacks of bleed on me constantly.
I don’t think its necessary. We already have WXP so I’d rather see that system be built upon instead of making a new one alongside it. Another thing is that I don’t want to lose zerglings because of a reward they can get on the other side of the map. I just think WvW should be more about teamwork than rewards because teamwork brings the rewards.

Yeah mainly because my alts didn’t have guard killer or defense against guards buffs. I still only play my Guardian and Warrior though :P
EOTM is already a huge karma train as is. Rarely is there a guild group that can just roll through the large zergs because the good guilds are in normal maps or doing a GvG.
No, they have decided that they don’t want older and more established (or rich guilds) to have too much of a boost on WXP so the current cost is reasonable. And I think it’s a much better temporary buff than the old armor repair fee reduction upgrade.
Makes sense with the megaserver but yet it doesn’t because they didn’t change any of the existing buffs. Its killer for smaller guilds too that just like to run 15-20 man havoc groups in WvW. Its not like this breaks the bank either as I said in my original post, its just that its not in line with any of the other buffs. As a large guild, I could keep this buff up for my guild as long as we have the merits, its not a problem at all but that’s not the point here.
100% agree.
I could live with 2-3; hell even 5-6 merits and a WAY, WAY shorter build time (seriously 3 days for only 24 hours? Who thought of that kitten) influence price could be reduced to 1kI’d say this is the best
4 merits, 16 hours build for 36 hour uptime, 1k Influence
I don’t think something like this warrants merits at all actually. Its just a 24 hour buff and nothing like the others that require merits. Another upgrade that’s similar is +5% gold for kills for 24 hours. Its requirements are- 3 merits, 300 influence and 1 day build time.
The most I really see DM going up to would be maybe 5 merits and 1000 influence with a 24 hour build time. That’s of course assuming it stays at lasting for 24 hours.
Good to see others agree with me here though. Thanks for the replies so far!
Jedbacca, Cloud Fly, Sfeee – Jade Quarry
They all play so differently but I enjoy each of them.
I’m not complaining but the logic behind this buff costing 20 merits (plus the influence) seems kind of…well…off. When you look at other guild buffs like 10% Magic Find for three days only costing 500 influence, why does something like DM cost 20 merits and 2000 influence each time you want to queue it? Do you guys think this is to combat EOTM karma training?
I’m all for getting more use for merits but the costs just seems way off here compared to other buffs/upgrades.
*For those that don’t know, a new guild buff was added with the feature pack on the 15th. Its +5% WXP for 24 hours and as mentioned above, it costs 20 merits and 2000 influence to queue it and had a build time of 3 days.
Anet, you need to make sure guild missions are easier to do with megaservers. Check out the guild forum and see the issues people are having!
We did just fine until rush came up (which I think is the only map that has megaserver enabled). Unless we partied up and brought people into the map, nothing else worked. I imagine this becoming a big problem when its enabled on all maps or if more missions are added. Today was just an inconvenience but it seems it could be much worse with cross-server guilds.
Just as a note: We have a 490 person guild with two mission sessions a week. We usually pull 4-6 parties/groups for each session. This first session we had maybe 5-6 people not make it into the same map as everyone else.
Its the forums. What did you expect?
Decent human beings.
You’re already asking too much.
Dragon or rabbit is the only way. That way you can feel the rage from the other person. I’m not a nice person
Its just a guild they made for employees on the live servers. When you see an Anet employee running around, they are on their own accounts and can’t activate anything with commands.
That’s because we have living story updates that last for two weeks. If you leave and come back, you’ll see the same thing you did back then with maybe a few quality of life improvements. Its pretty sad.
While it can kind of be disheartening to play a heavy support role, if you party up and use a staff on Guardian or Hammer on Warrior, you shouldn’t have a single problem getting plenty of bags.
It would kill the precursor economy and wouldn’t be fair to those who don’t/can’t login for the first few hours where precursors would drop significantly in price. A player shouldn’t be penalized or feel that way just because they weren’t online at a certain time.
I don’t even mind if they are put in the gem store because I’ll most likely have to pay gold to get the new skins either way.
I’m all for more armor and weapon skins though. I feel like I’ve had the same sets for months…oh wait, I have.
I think its going to help quite a bit with the appearance that the game is dead on the lower population servers (despite what the server says in the transfer/guest menu). I don’t think they really need to add something like this for the larger servers like the T1 but it doesn’t really make sense to only include it for half the game/servers/players.
I just hope it doesn’t affect my server pride when it comes to WvW. I don’t want longer queue times.
The fights. I like a mix of capping towers, keeps, camps, etc but I stay for the good fights. I used to take WvW more serious but now I just play to have fun and if I’m not, I find something else to do or just sign off (usually the option since there isn’t much else to do in GW2).
Well it’s pretty clear that ANet does not want to promote rivalries between individual players. Otherwise we would be able to see the character names of enemy players and be able to talk to them.
Exactly. I’d hate to lose half my zerg running towards the enemy because a guy running past us has a 5g bounty on him.
I wouldn’t be against it but I don’t think its common enough to worry about. Even if you lose a T3 keep, its not the end of the world.
Coward bg tc 2v1 jq
Cloud! Yes yes. Its been a nasty 2v1 all week but its something to expect whenever a season or tournament comes along. I don’t mind a 2v1 because its a comforting feeling knowing you look like that big of a threat to the other servers. The kind of 2v1 I’ve seen this week is the same I saw in season 1 though where you literally see one of the servers just waiting on a hill for a solid hour for you to make a move while the 3rd server hits you. It killed our morale in EB numerous times to the point you get guild groups having to try and save it.
The proposed idea isn’t worth it though. Even if you see an enemy zerg, you’ll recognize the guild tags and if those are removed, it won’t take long before you realize who is who.
Starts off with a dragon that causes panic and chaos. The dragon becomes the new Scarlet and the several next LS updates after that are about killing its minions and controlling it from taking over Tyria.
The nice thing about living story content is that its constant and keeps the game fresh. It also provides cosmetic rewards most of the time so if you have school, work, or whatever that doesn’t allow you to play the game during that time, you don’t really miss much. The bad thing is the same thing, its constantly changing. There is no permanent content and more and more the living story updates feel like wasted effort and time. It would take Anet a few weeks to make a living story and most of the time, you could complete everything regarding that living story in a day. Then it was two weeks of just roaming around the new content or going back to pvp, wvw, or whatever you were doing before.
End-game PvE content is really lacking. There are no larger dungeons to do with your guild or any solo intended content.
“If done right” should be bold there. Fighting a battle you can’t win is not fun in any way and can cause a lot of confusion for players thinking they have a chance to win. Think about TTS or Blackgate going at a new boss for 2 weeks straight only to find out from Anet that the boss wasn’t meant to be killable.
I guess they are skipping this week and just putting all effort into the feature update on the 15th. Kind of weird since last I heard they have 4 living story teams.
They are not skipping anything.
They are taking a break. Which they told us several MONTHS ago that they would do.Living Story Season 1 Finale —-- Break —-- Feature Patch —-- Break —-- Living Story Season 2.
Those aren’t “breaks” because they are still working on the next batch of content. Its always been bi-monthly updates.
Yep, but it was JQ vs T2 servers. The highest against other T1 servers has been about 550-600.
I’ve only played on NA servers but from what I can tell is that they are pretty much the same. Blobs, servers that play PPT, guild havoc groups, GvG, etc.
From what an Anet dev told me: A while back I reported a troll in WvW that causes problems on a daily basis and was told there is a system coming that will make them want to participate with their community instead of destroying it. I’m not sure if this is directly related to “facilitating friendly play” but it sure seems likely. Fingers crossed anyways that this will be good news coming later this week.

Let me merchant them or salvage into other materials…or luck. The amount of ascended mats I have coming in is way too much for me to keep refining them and wasting gold.
How often can we expect patches like this? Are you guys still planning on going back and forth between feature patches and living story ones? Monthly feature updates would be great!
Please please please no more SAB. We need permanent content and we’ve already had SAB twice.
Still waiting on a way to sell or trade them. The amount of ascended mats is ridiculous and nothing less than a hassle.
I like thief + warrior, mesmer + warrior, or ele + guardian. It mainly depends who I’m with on what my profession is but I tend to stick with warrior and guardian.
In the Ready Up earlier today it was mentioned that MF will effect the drops from boxes in the new reward tracks. Will this change be brought over to PvE? If not can you tell us if it’s a technical limitation or a design decision?
I take it you’d be surprised to know that magic find has always affected some PvE chests?
Its a multiplier to a hidden RNG-cascade. How would you ever know?
It actually doesn’t. Magic find currently only affects the drop itself, not what comes from and kind of bags (whether it be a champ bag, loot bag, etc). Source: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic_find
As for the OP, I doubt it. They have reduced the raw gold from champion bags quite a bit and have even changed some of the respawn timers on champions in Frostgorge Sound. Its pretty clear Anet doesn’t like people farming the champions as much as they do but feel its not really worth removing altogether…probably because it would cause a huge uproar among the community.
Migmagnific or Emmagician broadcasters on Grooveshark. I turn it down really low so I can still hear comms though.
Think about it this way. You’re a level 80 getting down-scaled to a level 16 boss. Even when this happens, you have a ton of people around you to help keep you alive with water fields, empowering, and regeneration. This is also a starter zone. There shouldn’t even be more than one or two champions on the map (if you ask me). There should be a challenge in GW2 but adding more HP to an enemy doesn’t make it harder, it just makes it take longer to kill.
Even with that said, yeah, they could make it stronger. Give it a few more attacks, add some poison clouds so people can’t stand there and mash 1 over and over. I’m not really torn either way with SB though.
The feature patch is a GREAT step for Anet in improving GW2. The main gripe I have is lack of permanent content. I’m done with the two week long living story updates and so are a lot of people.
Its just one of those things in WvW you have to live with for now. We’ve got several trolls on JQ that jump golems to their deaths, place tons of random siege in the keep, spy, pin up to confuse the pugs, call out that other maps need help so their guild can get on the map, etc.
You just have to ignore them or change maps. Don’t let them get to you or know that they are…that’s what they want. Attention.
In addition to the OP, I’d like to see a few more changes as well:
(Not all my ideas)
-More options of things to buy with badges such as WXP, Tomes of Knowledge, etc.
-A guild buff for +X% WXP for X days.
-Guild buff for extra badges.
-A new siege type.
-Things from EOTM brought to the normal maps such as unique champions that sell and do different things.
-WvW related tonics.
-Bank and guild bank access in borderlands maps (without having to upgrade a keep).
There are plenty of other things I’ve thought about in the past but can’t remember right now.
So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

It was way too random and they seemed to not realize it was garbage content until about halfway through and they started putting things together with Scarlet. There were only 2-3 really memorable living story updates which is pretty horrible considering there was a new one every two weeks. I’m glad they are finally giving us more features in GW2 with their new release plan for 2014 but we’ll see how that holds come 5-6 months from now.
