Game over

There are currently no account restrictions causing you to get less quality loot than other players. Everyone has the same loot chance as to not provide any unfair advantages for some. Granted, some players may seem to have better luck with loot, but it is random for everyone.
While Im sure it should be the same for all players, I doubt it is at the moment. If they look at their data and see that its working correctly “On average across all players” they wont see the anomalies.. What they do need to check are on a more individual basis.
You can also not base anything 100% on the wiki since anyone can change it.
Good/Bad luck? Its beyond that..

Ive done alot of JP’s now (and if anet would ban for swearing irl I’d be banned for life x5), and so far the only one I never got credit for was the collapsed observatory.
I would love to be able to see:
Equipped gear
Inventory
Stats
Traits
Skills
Crafting
On any of my characters, no matter what character Im on without the need to relog, similarly to how the awesome Altoholic addon in wow worked.
Also, more bank space
And a wardrobe like function to share town clothes across all my characters without it taking up bank space. Also, a way to see the collectibles tab and bank (but of course not withdraw/deposit) from anywhere in the world.

If it was so easy to tell that it was an exploit, the people who exploited must have been rather dumb knowing that exploiting is a bannable offense.
If they were smart they wouldnt exploit it in the first place..
Yep, using double tap dodge and I get the same issues.
Where is the fun in that? I have no problem with dredge on any of my chars (well, my elementalist has some difficulty) and not seldom run past a heap of them places like dredgehaunt cliffs as well as soloing several dredgebased events.
Because hentai is generally used as a definition of japanese pornographic comics and animation. (at least in the western world). That the oroginal meaning might not be refering to the same thing is a completely other matter. This is also something that is up to the person naming the character to research before naming their character.
Yep, no updated files here either.
Hentai Promstar? Well, hentai is a word that in itself pretty much breaks the naming policy, and Promstar? Sounds kind of like Pornstar to me.
We do not permit names that:

Im pretty sure Spekks lab in caledon forest didnt give me credit until I finished it.
Also the Collapsed Observatory JP in kessex hills didnt give me credit on either discovery or completion.
Buried Archives in straits of devastation, Im unsure if this gave me credit upon discovery or not.
Viziers tower, cant remember.
Thats the ones Ive tried so far. On a bit of a break from gw2 for a week now, but I’ll finish the monthly next week and check more jps.

I dont mind the ones in divinitys reach or the ones in lions arch not having the proper tooltip.. but the asura gates in rata sum are terrible, the horror!
Tell that to the people using revive orbs in high level fractals. I doubt they find them useless.
Im not getting credit for visiting JP’s I have already completed before. Heck, some dont even get me credit for finishing…
The chance is probably abysmally low.
Or possibly in hex. That is, 00 to FF. I do hope they will find a way to do this however, in which case an extra F would allow for stacks of up to 4095, but I do think if they do increase it they only allow for stacks up to 999 for display reasons.
The short answer is, no. Neither can ANET refund your tokens.
I would pay for that, just as I paid for expanding my wallet in lotro (for it to store more token types etc).
Hey Gaile, I came across this earlier, and it made my night, hahahaha
Haha, that one was epic!
Not to mention that not all guilds are the same. Just because you are in a guild doesnt mean you can demand of others to run a dungeon with you if they do not wish to do so. They might be busy doing other things, play during varying times (even within the same timezone), and be online for different lengths than you. Not to mention guilds are of different sizes.
Yes please! This would be so very helpful!
Its important to diffirentiate the Roleplaying in RPG’s from the rpg mechanics. RPG is at its base roleplaying and has nothing to do with tanks, healers or dps neither does the mechanics need them (but can be designed to use the trinity) in order to be considered rpg mechanics. Most rpgs dont even have the trinity as a matter of fact although Dragon Age: Origins had it to some extent (not counting mmo’s).
Yes, you can have challenging complex fun fights with the trinity but lets face it, this game isnt build around the trinity and I hope it will never be so.
If anything the combat needs to be spiced up and evolve more, not de-evolve into trinity based combat.
Here is one, couldnt find the longer one I wrote and cant be aresed to write again.
As Ari said, the intentions might be good but after playing wow for a long time and seeing addons like recount and gearscore being developed and used in an elitist manner (not seldom by people who werent really up to par).
In order to get maximum enjoyment out of “vertical progression”, a player must be able to see the numerical increase in their effectiveness.
People have been enjoying themselves just fine, and did in other games as well even without any measure of dps. The problem with meters in guild wars 2 is that there is no holy trinity. There are so many other things to do to help the group rather than just blindly dpsing and healing aint that super. I doubt most people would need meters for maximum enjoyment. Maximum enjoyment =/= maximum dps.
Ive writte enough on this in other threads on the same topic so I’ll just say:
Yeah, I notice it alot of the time but have gotten used to it somewhat. I mean sure, trying to dodge when endurance is too low wibt make you dodge, but at least it should freeze you to the ground for even half a second.
Despite the fact that I love tanking… and healing… and dpsing… One of the reasons I started playing gw2 was the lack of the trinity. That and no raids and a more open non-quest-bound world. Changing the mechanics in such a way that tanks and healers would be needed, well.. that would be goodbye for me and I dare say I would not be the only one.
Our US Military has to conduct swim qualifications in full battle armor. You’d be surprised at how well you actually float with some of that stuff on. Pockets of air everywhere.
Except its not full plate armor
Thats true, waypoints are more contested than before and temples locked. I agree that stuff doesnt need to drop loot 100% of the time, apart from champions, especially event ones.
I mean, who would want to do the same events over and over again for little or no worthwhile reward with a low chance for something half-decent to drop and an extremely low chance of something thats actually useful to drop.
As long as there is an option for both. As a matter of fact, more options in general would be nice. I would love to make my human male elementalist fat for example. That being said, I love the look of my sexy norn female mesmer, though my human female necromancer feels the need for less revealing light armor but has yet found anything (apart from dungeon armor which I cannot grinding for) good looking enough to suit my necromancer (the low/mid level karma armor looks kind of necromantish with the skull helmet and all but I think it looks like crap).
How is it making the game trivial?
Ive got a pretty good rig and get great framerates from most things, even decent ones when there is tons and tons of stuff going on at the same time. However I still found the wintersday JP to be much easier with the graphics set to minimum (except the resolution). Wish I would have thought about that during the halloween JP. Turning the graphics down might perhaps help reduce motionsickness?
Agreed, the promised loot buff needs to be implemented/fixed asap..
In one of the last personal story quests when trahearne was tired/hurt/whatever, my char called for a medic. She should have called on a gardener, or even better for someone to fetch some weedkiller.
Im hoping trahearne will end up being one of the missing ancient dragons, connected somehow to the dream/nightmare. I wouldnt be suprised for even one second.
Homeworld is accountwide. Its been like this since release.
Im thinking that a much larger percentage finished the wintersday JP compared to the halloween one.
I never finished the Halloween JP despite 50+ tries. Before I went on to celebrate christmas with my family, I finished the wintersday jp several times. Its alot easier than the halloween JP. Alot of people also find the wintersday jp to be much easier.
I disagree, I dont think every mob should always drop something. However I think veterans should have a much higher chance to drop loot than normal mobs and champions should ALWAYS drop something. Veterans should also drop better loot than normal mobs and champions should drop better loot than veterans.
The november “fix” to loot drops.. is nowhere to be seen…
“loot .. something appropriated illegally often by force or violence”.
Yes, all things should drop loot. You are looting the corpse of the entity you just killed. Unless human and naked there should be SOMETHING you could take. I just killed an Arctodus … so only sometimes does it have teeth fur or claws?
It is like saying your time was worth nothing. Let’s face it you aren’t killing it because it is new and exciting after 4 months of the game being out. Top 3 on my list of annoying things in either GW product is air drops.
Improving the loot tables would be a far better solution that to make every mob drop something. Its not like saying my time was worth nothing, its to say “hey, perhaps something good might drop from this mob or at least something I can sell”.
Then of course there is the killing because its simply in my way, or clearing out so I can start a skill challenge.. or simply because the current DE needs it. Apart from of course the chance that it might drop something.
Now, in mmo’s with actual quests it would make more sense if Ive got a quest to for example gather.. murloc eyes.. every murloc would drop “drop” two eyes (that I pluck from the corpse gameplay mechanics aside), that may or may not have been damaged (and if damaged might not be of any use to the quest npc, so I would not bother taking it from the corpse or at least take to sell as junk to a vendor).
But to be honest, you are in an area full of risen, there is danger lurking everywhere.. would you really stop to pick up some ruined cloth (that any sensible person would just toss aside and no vendor of any self-esteem would buy from you.. gameplay mechanics aside)?
I have to come up with 700 gold (last I checked) for Dusk … pick it up? I would not only pick it up but shave it sell the hair and part out it’s organs :p

Who cares if there might be a little bit of clipping if you sit down with a charr on a normal chair to be honest. Or your armor clips through part of the chair. I mean there is already alot of odd clipping if you stand on, /sleep on, /sit on.. various objects.
Of course there is a limited amount of gems to buy with gold.. BUT, its limited by the people who buy gems from ANET in the first place (to sell for gold). If nobody ever bought gems from ANET, there would be no gems to buy for gold.
Back when you got alot more gems for your gold, I spent a couple of gold on them. Right now, its alot more sensible both goldwise and timewise to just pay directly to anet. (and the only thing I would spend gems on atm are some more bag slots for some of my alts, but currently I dont feel any need to).
If people are stupid enough to pay 15g for it, or even 5g.. they probably deserve losing that gold..
35g I think if counting money on other characters and in the bank as well. Otherwise I think its around 15g.
Agreed, that would be nice no matter if you are an rp’er or not.
You know, that would be.. awesome! Personally I’d love to have all of my alts (8 chars in total, so 7 alts) showing up in things like battle for claw island etc.
There are a few dialogue choices that you only get if you have a certain personality, but they are few and far between.
It would be nice if personality affected cutscenes as well but its far too late for that now, at least in the personal story currently in the game. I do hope that they take it more into account when expanding the storyline however.
Not only is baiting extremely stupid, people who fall for it and start cursing aint too bright either since they fall for it.
That being said, Ive fallen for some trolling in my time, but in-game or on the forums I refrain from swearing… IRL, completely different story.

Necromancer is a ton of fun, despite the gazillion bugs.
I couldnt decide either, so I made one of each profession and got at least one of each race. (2 humans m/f, 2 asura m/f, 2 norn m/f, 1 sylvari female, 1 charr male).
Also.. please ditch the extremely annoying habit of capitalizing EVERY SINGLE word. My brain hurts..

Some summoned mobs do drop stuff, like wolves summoning other wolves for example. Although I wouldnt be suprised if there was some kind of flag on certain mobs labeling them as “summoned”, while on others not. Makes sense though for certain summons to actually drop loot, like the case of the wolves, since they dont actually (disregarding gameplay mechanics) summon other wolves from thin air but call on them as if they are in the world already (disregarding gameplay mechanics). Same should go for barracudas and other such “summons”.
Nice to see this thread growing quickly. From 1 to 7 pages and 320+ posts in a couple of days while I was away over christmas. Keep it going! Personally I do not have the patience to record my drops and do not play enough atm to see any changes. I do still get crap drops though, a single rare while doing several events and explored all of cursed shore. From event chests and champions.. I can could count myself lucky if I get greens (disgregarding mats and sigils, which to be honest should not affect the quality of gear drops, at least not if anet has any common sense).
Im finding myself playing less now, due to the game feeling rather unrewarding. Sure, I can farm dungeons for tokens, but what happened to having several different ways of aquiring gear at a sensible rate? Give more incentive to kill champions (non event ones too) and do events and perhaps there will be more people caring about the open world.
Also, I think it was rather idiotic move by some moderator to shut down the other thread, as it would be beneficial to have one thread for discussion and this thread for.. as you, Stephane Lo Presti, called it “concrete facts”.

The better question would be: Is there anyone who DOESN’T hate risen? :P
I actually had more trouble completing it with my male norn than my smaller characters.
