Colin Johansen hits you for 239407889 damage
Game over
Ive definitely seen an increase in dye droprates. For weeks Ive perhaps found 2-3 dyes. The last few days Ive seen 10+ drop. Perhaps its because I have been leveling through 60-70 areas, dunno.
Ive actually tweeted the links to guildwars2 together with the number of pages/views/posts 3 times now at certain milestones of this thread. Of course, no response. Perhaps you should too. The more the merrier as they say. The latest one was "GuildWars2 I wonder, will toymaker tixx bring us a fix for wintersday? forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/game/gw2… 815 posts/17 pages/25509 views. #gw2"
Are people still upset about this? facepalm
1. Fun
2. A guild of good fun people.
My norn males jumping sounds louder these past few days.
We dont know how the monthlies will look next month. Most likely it will be something different.
Bagslots have been per character since beta weekend 3.
I did get 4 dyes in less than one hour last night. 1 rare in 3+ hours, a few greens and tons of blues/whites/junk. That tells us that.. it doesnt tell us anything at all. I got extremely lucky with the dyes thats all. Total I have gotten perhaps 5-6 dyes in the last 30 days.
People were actually getting loot from mobs outside fotm, this has been corrected. Mobs outside fotm now drop nothing at all.
Joke aside… I want the same as Wildcode.

John Smith, are you aware of the terrible drop rates?
If not:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Change-in-loot-parameters-or-a-bug-Merged/first
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Loot-Drop-Rate-Bug/firstIs it a bug or intended to get people buying more gems with cash?
Ive given up on them trying to give us an answer (apart from the very vague AMA answer) to this. But yeah, the droprates will and do affect pricing on the tp making people needing even more gold to buy stuff on the tp, thus increasing the chances of people buying from goldsellers (because, aside from the devastating side effect for buying from goldsellers, they are cheaper which seems to be the only thing people see. If nobody bought from goldsellers, the goldsellers would go away eventually).
The matter of need vs want is a tricky one (yet oh so simple). Not because there is an actual need, but because players think they need (when they really just want, but dont actually need to play the game).

Its not a bug, you can pick up stuff from the trading post on any character you have.
They should have a bigger chance of dropping rares/exotics than normal mobs though, would only be fair.
They never said anything about champs and veterans always dropping rares. They said that loot from veterans was supposed to be improved and that champions should always drop something. Which clearly they dont. People are not just expecting to have everything handed to them. People are actually seeing an overall decrease in drops except for fotm. Dragon chests and other chests were supposed to drop better stuff, which they dont. As a matter of fact, dragon chest drops seem to be worse off.
There isnt a 14-15 long thread about this for no reason….
There are more ways than one the DR could be bugged. That is, not only failing to reset over time but also for some reason bugged so that it has ended up not being separate per zone. Oh, and also possibly the ceiling of the DR to be hit too fast.
I did read some of that thread Wildcode, but its mainly about the nerf to drops FROM mobs. What I have noticed is that mobs themselves are starting to drop loot less often than before.
You must have read the wrong thread then, because the thread wildcode links is about drops from everything except fotm.
I’d like for the loot bug to be fixed.
A nice exotic greatsword
Minipets
20 slot bag
Gold
The thing is that it resets for everyone at the same time. So when its 6 pm for you, its 1 am for me. No matter how they would set it, it could mess with anyones schedule.
What are you going on about? Just find out when it resets for you, determine the time of day you want to do the daily and go. It resets at 4pm for me, so I do it in the evening.
Cheers.
I dont have any issues with it. I wouldnt have any issues with it even if it reset lets say at 10pm for me (I get home from work at 9pm). I know when it resets at the moment, 1am currently at gmt +1. As long as you know when you can work around it. If you miss it, no big deal.
Its supposed to be based on the zone you are in, in order for you to switch zones and not just farm the same area for several hours. If you go into another zone you should not have any DR there but you’d have to wait for the DR to reset in the one you were farming previously. Heck they even set it higher so DR wouldnt kick in as fast at one point.

It could be a messed up DR and I agree that it sounds likely. And if it is, it seems to follow you into whatever zone you go into, no matter if you just logged in after not playing for two days or if you spent 5 hours farming. Well, except for fotm, where you can easily fill your bags with blues/greens/rares.
Attended/Looted, no mail.
Ive never seen a key drop from any mob ever. Only sometimes from map completion and personal story.
Well, got perhaps 20-30% MF but droprates are still holy crap.
It makes sense that they dont want us to farm story missions. No need for any source, just common sense.
An mmo is only as social as you, the player makes it. Well, not one person, but the entire community of a server.
I wonder if the monetizing advisor from nexon still works with gw2. You know the one that is partly responsible for the change to dyes from account wide to character based in bwe2→3. Would you be suprised?
Werent they supposed to have fixed that in an earlier patch?
For now.. I’d be happy if they said as little as “We are aware that there is a bug with the droprates and are looking into ways to fix this. Im sorry I cant give you an ETA but we ARE working on fixing it”
But.. hey.. I doubt they will say that since their idea of transparency is a one way mirror.
I could easily get 2-3 unid dyes per day before the bug that caused dyes to drop often. After they fixed the bug (and probably overcompensated for it), Im lucky if I get 1-2 unid dyes per week… That speaks loads to me. Same issue goes for loot in general (except for in fotm) since the lost shores patch.
Thing is, it seems to temporarily unbug for some people. Or its a matter of a streak of extreme luck rather than the rest being a streak of bad luck.
stares down at his feet Umm.. hello my name is Joel and Im an altoholic..
Seriously, I actually got one char of each class, 3 of which are 80 at the moment. Took me ages to get one char to 80 since I was switching between chars all the time. Necro is fun as heck though, but I dont enjoy thief or ele much.
Dungeons? If in dungeons you mean FoTM fractals, I havent had a good dungeon drop in two weeks.. FoTM on the other hand…
Then perhaps you are unfamiliar with MMO’s. In every MMO I’ve played you were able to solo all content minus instances very easily.
Sorry to pick this very sentence, but there are several mmo’s that has had world content that was not doable solo. Heck in some mmo’s you are forced to group to get anywhere apart from the low level areas. Solo friendly mmo’s is something that started becoming more common when wow released and there are still mmo’s that dont cater much to the solo crowd.
It didnt work for me either, I tried changing the mixing buffer, or well actually I had it at max already. Changing the sound quality did nothing either.
I get that they cant comment on every single topic, but its worse than that.. they are actively ignoring us. At least give us SOMETHING besides hotfixes nerfing stuff.
Yes, they definitely need to put out a big bugfix patch before wintersday, otherwise the problems will just get worse and more new bugs introduced…
GW1 had 7 years to get where it is now.
GW2 had 3 months so far.Which means GW2 had the foundation (and benefit) of years and years of GW1 experience upon which to build.
It also does things alot differently, new mechanics, new lore (built upon the lore from gw1 though), new(ish) areas and more. If it were a simple expansion I’d get it, but gw2 is almost a completely different game.
I’d be happy if they fixed the lootbug.
But back to my point. Your response to the OPs argument is “no it isn’t”….no value or substance to it, just blind and deaf shaking of the head and ignoring anything he said.
I didnt say that, I merely disagreed with his opinion. Sure I might not have given a long explanation but I still stated that I thought.
Ok, so perhaps they do have genders. But since they arent bound at all by gender roles, having the word for female worker as their name isnt completely off. Besides, its not uncommon for people to have names connected to their trade or status.
As for the pronounciations, you could say that the sylavri simply have a different variation of gaelish. They certainly do not sound welsh/gaelish, makes sense that they dont neccesarily pronounce the words the same either. Its not uncommon for some words to even have slightly different meaning depending on where you are from.
Apple castle makes completely sense, considering how young a race the sylvari are and a bit naive too.

The best f2p model Ive come upon so far is Lotro. Everything costs turbine points, however you can earn those points ingame, so its entirely possible to purchase every single bit of content in that game merely by playing the game. (althoug you might have to grind the points on more than one char). That coupled with the possibility of subscribing (heck you can even subscribe for only a month and permanently unlock traits slots, bag slots and more). Plus all the areas are free without purchase, letting you play through the storyquests.
If gw2 becomes f2p, chances are it will be more expensive for people in the long run than a single purchase of the game.
It is also not an excuse for swearing, just like like having a profanity filter in-game isnt an excuse for swearing.
I can only speak for sub-lvl9 difficulty, but Im meleeing just fine at any of the fractal bosses even though I do switch to scepter on occasion if only to contribute at least some damage while Im avoiding things (like waiting for a too high frostbite stack to wear off at the frost shaman boss).
1st of all you shouldnt wait for frostbite stack to wear off instead let him hit you some more and go in iceblock which resets the stacks.
on topic: That is exactly the issue. You have to always get out of melee on almost all bosses and lose DPS time while not doing more DPS it simply decreases your viability. And the stacks you talk about come on you so high every 3 secs or so on top of tha t the breath.
Ah, thats useful to know, thanks!
Thing is they brought in a monetizer from nexon in beta, who was part of the reason why dye unlocks became per character instead of accountwide and probably other things as well. Dont know if she still works for ANET.
1. There is a big difference between being inspired by and actually being welsh/gaelic.
2. To be honest, sylvari have no real gender.
3. Apple castle? Makes complete sense. Would you rather it be called asparagus castle?
The howling kings cone isnt really anti-range, its more anti-dont-stand-infront-of-him when-he-does-it. You are supposed to dodge it no matter if you are melee or ranged. It does not have infinite range however. Of all the times Ive done him Ive been hit perhaps 1-2 times max on my ranger.
There is no need for an automated system or autoporting. A simple system where people can list themselves for a dungeon would be enough so its easier to find people. Wow had that before the instance finder.

Im not talking about specific tasks. What you said about contribution points is alot closer to what I ment. Basically, any wvw event counts towards the monthly instead of just kills. However, I would love to see a separate wvw monthly altogether, awarding coins, xp, random siege plans and wvw badges.
Not to mention that changing something that is connected to something else in order to fix a bug, might bug other things if they are not careful. Heck, just changing a number can break other things depending on how its coded.
As for the make-over kit, it would be stupid to think that it was the bugfixing team making the make-over kits, not to mention people have been wanting the make-over kit since day 1 basically. Its also a separate team that creates new content to that which work on fixing bugs.
That being said, they really need to fix some of the bugs like the loot bug, fractal dc’s and more as soon as possible. Definitely before they roll out wintersday!
