How does luck work? Is it account wide still? Should I be hoarding essences?

I ask because the wiki article on this (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Luck) doesn’t match the current in game hero screen, so I am unsure if any of the information is still accurate.

I can tell you why I stopped playing originally: The camera system. I hate the camera system. I came back when I heard that they had finally integrated the old Combat Mode mod into the game as “Action Camera” and I have been loving it. I have already nearly doubled the level I left of on my old elementalist with my new thief. I found Thief unplayable before due to the moves that displace you and in the process kitten up the camera positioning, which without Action Camera was enough of a pain in the butt to fix that it got me killed all the time.

My ping is normal throughout. There is no visible correlation between ping and the FPS drop.

I had perfectly fine performance before the patch, but now I am seeing ~10 FPS without any change in settings. It’s making it very hard to do anything involving jumping and is forcing me to somewhat button mash for combat since there seems to be a slight delay, which makes it hard for me to maneuver my thief around.

Somewhat random, in that I will occasionally get a session where it goes back to normal, but area transitions or use of waypoint travel can cause it to either start or stop occurring. May also have something to do with the particular computer boot up; I shut down over night, and on some days I can get it to stop by purposefully waypoint traveling while on others nothing will stop it.

I get this semi-randomly. It can go from happening to not just based on going through a waypoint, even inside the same map.

Good news is it seems to have dropped down to only happening in Lion’s Arch now. But it is still happening.

Good news is it seems to have dropped down to only happening in Lion’s Arch now. But it is still happening.

EDIT: Nope, turns out it’s just now happening randomly instead of constantly. Comes on and off when I go between maps, instances, or use gate travel.

My graphical performance has taken a sudden dive after the most recent patch. I was doing fine before, and now everything is stuttering slightly (FPS has dropped to ~10?). I originally thought Lion’s Arch was just overly full in my instance due to the patch rush, but it has persisted across several maps. Action Camera Integration Obviousness

I stopped playing a long time ago because I couldn’t take the horrible camera any longer and I couldn’t get the combat Mode mod to work reliably. I know I am not the only one who feels this way about WoW style camera controls.

I’m now back because I heard they were finally integrating this way of playing into the game. However, I futzed with the game for 20 min and couldn’t find it. An extended foray into the forums and reddit revealed that for some unfathomable reason, despite putting it in the game, it is for some reason mapped to an unbound key with no notification that it is even there if you don’t know what to look for.

Why bother putting it in if you are going to hide it? It should be integrated into the UI and part of the tutorial. Show people what they can do and let them decide how they want to play, instead of putting in a stealth upgrade for the few people who know what secret question to ask for. Otherwise the people, like me, who cannot stand the default camera will just stop playing because they won’t know there is another way.

I’ve given up on playing the game until they implement this, as I cannot get the mod to work. I can’t stand to play with the kittenty WoW style controls any longer.

This needs to go, it’s completely ridiculous. Especially bad when you have multiple mobs on you and don’t realize your targeting is stuck on the invulnerable one.

On behalf of all players with RSI, please add this. Hold down Right Click is just about the single worst possible command set you could give a person with this type of injury. And quite frankittenhis would make combat a lot more fun.

You get minimal XP and increase your own chance to die. Also, the event counts your contribution less.

There is an ongoing issue with the dynamic map control type events, such as the battles for control of Kessex Hills: They never actually go anywhere. That is to say, despite these being ‘ongoing’, the fact is that the Seraph never lose any events because PCs always run in and keep the point under friendly control. Not one territory in at least the low level areas ever changes hands. Not one ancillary event ever gets won by the antagonists either (there is a ‘stop the centaurs from rebuilding the bridge’ event in the same area, and that bridge is never up).

This also creates issues with renown events in the area, since the options to kill the enemies are not available since they haven’t taken the zone (Aid Fort Salma). So instead, you run around waiting for traps to spawn so you can disarm enough to satisfy the quest, which is dull and repetitive, not to mention kills immersion when you see traps appearing right in front of you.

The basis for the enemies winning these types of events cannot be that the players are not there, because some will always be there. These events need to eventually increase in difficulty to the point where the players lose or at least to the point where you need more than just 10 random players who were in the area to come in order to win. I realize that you want to avoid griefers throwing events, but having events that are not able to be lost except by people not showing up is no fun either, and whole blocks of story DE are never happening because there is never a need for them to occur.

I didn’t get any errors. I just played and left as normal, and when I came back I was out a bunch of progress. No in-game or out-of-game incidents.

Yes that too. The point is there should not be an arbitrary and sometimes uncontrollable circumstance outside of an explicit enemy ability where we lose all combat capability.

Scenery Transparency

Please implement some form of scenery transparency. When fighting in caves or buildings, it is hard to see what you are doing because your camera keeps getting shoved into your back. When fighting around trees, you cannot see anything because the trees are in the way. We should not have to fight the camera or the scenery.

P)lease add this. This was the first option I looked for in game when I started playing, and I couldn’t believe it wasn’t here.

As a note this should adapt your direction for movement skills automatically (my double dagger ele moves around a lot).

All too often I am finding myself fighting aquatic monsters near the edge or the surface of water and dying because of shallow water. I’ll perform a maneuver or get knocked back and suddenly I have, not different weapons, but no weapons at all because I am “on the surface” of the water. This completely disables me, especially in light of the fact that it seems to have no discernible affect on any of the monster I am fighting.

Either players need to have access to their underwater weapons at all time when in water, or monster need to similarly have a complete disability in shallows. The combination of having all your skills taken away and having them retain full capability is simply untenable. It is basically instant death the second you get in this situation unless you have a group with you and that group is paying attention.

It’s perpetually under centaur control even though all the centaurs are dead (quest says zero left). The event never resolves, just stays there and prevents anything else from happening in the area.

I logged in late last night and did a bunch of stuff, including all the things around durmond priory. When I logged in this morning everything was gone, including my levels, items, etc.
