is there an mmo forum thats not full of complaints? i dunno if i have ever seen one. and me personally Im lovin this game.

This.
MMO pvp forums for EVERY game are usually a bottomless pit of QQ/Nerf/Whine posts. The vast vast vast majority of them can usually be summed up by a quick L2P response before moving on to the next one. It’s very rare that any of them actually have any merit, and even more rare that they don’t come from some extremely biased standpoint of “buff my favorite class, nerf the others”.

True that. There’s some streams out there that other ele’s should be watching. With fast attunement switching and knowing what to go to and at what moment leaves certain ele streaming players godlike on the field, nigh unkillable and tearing people apart with great abandon.

lol!
Firstly: Go watch some paradigm or AC streams. Follow their ele’s. It’s probably a combination of l2p issues and needing to get your team to work on their cohesion better. If you don’t have a team, that’s also a problem.
Thieves are awesome, yes. HS spam is easy to counter though and leaves the thief dead meat. It’s called dodge. Luckily, every class can do it.
Warriors currently have akitten gimmick in FZ>BR>EP>HB. IF it connects it’s an insta-gib vs most people (engi’s and mesmers can get out of it 100% of the time even if it hits, thieves/rangers can do it if they’re slick). If that gimmick crap doesn’t connect, the warrior has a good 60 seconds before he can set it up again. Luckily there’s an ability called dodge which negates this gimmicky spec entirely and even more luckily every class has access to it for free.
Seriously though, go watch team AC’s ele stream for an hour. He’s unkillable, and nukes down people like mad. Proper attunement switching leaves him capable of tearing teams apart with extreme prejudice. Ele is fully viable, just takes some finesse. Warrior’s are becoming less viable as people discover the dodge key as the gimmick is their ONLY viable spec.

In WvW really it’s all about the zerg. Play what you find fun. Bow is solid for it’s aoe, sword and shield are ok for defensing it up. As for 1v1’s…. well against anyone running a proper tpvp build you’re going to be smoked. But then you’re going to get smoked unless you run a cookie cutter GS (BR+HB) build and even then if they know how to dodge it’ll completely negate you.
TLDR: In WvW run what you like and join the zerg. In actual 1v1’s and organized pvp (tournaments) it’s greatsword or go home, at least until ANet gives us a clue if that’s the single build they wanted war’s to run or not.

Ooo I’d like to see an elite shout too. So I can abuse the trait that makes your shout heal even more :P
If by abuse you mean do a max of 2k heal per shout if you gear solely for healing and watch as the other team just 1-attacks it away as if it never happened (leaving your damage in the gutter at the same time) You mean that abuse?

Are there ANY other viable tpvp warrior specs besides dull HB gimmick
in Warrior

Seriously, I see tons of warriors here trying to figure one out. I’ve checked stream after stream of solid HB warriors either trying to make another spec work, or complaining that there are no other viable choices.
Are we really doomed to be chained to this single gimmicky (and imo BORING) spec? TPvP teams won’t even consider you as a warrior (at least in my experience) unless you run the mandatory axe/shield + greatsword BR/EP/Frenzy HB crap. This isn’t a nerf post, because it’s so easy to negate (dodge/escapes/block, etc) but rather a whine I suppose that for supposed “variety” of playstyles we’re pigeon-holed into this immensely dull 1-hit wonder spec.
I’d love to play a shield warrior, but it’s crap (shield cd’s are far too long even when traited). Hammer warrior is fun but so hindered by insanely slow animations that it’s negated without even using dodges really (at least when I’ve fought against them, seriously I can make a sammich and come back in time to run out of the attack area), not to mention what TPvP team isn’t basically immune to stuns/cc’s 90% of the time.
TLDR: If there’s any viable warrior spec’s please post them, please post proof that they’re not complete poo (video’s of tpvp matches vs competent teams). If there isn’t any other viable spec’s out there then WTF ANet, help us.

No, no no no no.
“Going for the steal” is a completely awesome tactic in that map and is rewarded as such when you pull it off. My team has made a few comebacks by timing steals for the point boost. It adds another dynamic to the game and that’s a good thing.
Yaks Bend
Yes, everything you get for structured/competitive PvP is purely cosmetic. The way it should be.
Yaks Bend
Meh. I PvP because I enjoy PvP, I don’t need/want any rewards from it. If they’re there and provided then cool, but if not then no biggie.

Don't see the point of the PvP gear in GW2, maybe I don't get the system?

I understand GW2 is a skill based game. No stat advantage or gear chasing. I’m totally ok with this model.
But seriously, all the fanboys going off about this is how it SHOULD be and bashing on people who are still learning is silly. FYI, MMORPG games have always been about PVE and obtaining the best gear possible. Bragging to your friend about getting that super rare drop. Old mmorpg games didn’t “brainwash” you in to thinking that stats were important. The fact is, stats are SUPPOSED to be important in an mmorpg. It is what drives the genre. PvP is an afterthought entirely. And successful games try their best to balance it.
But in all honesty, If you want something PvP skill based, please just play an RTS, MOBA, or FPS game. Any competitive, skill based mmorpg is still a joke compared to the genres stated above.
GW2 is drastically different in this way. It is a nice change up. But in no means is it “the way things should be”.
There have been other MMO’s (perhaps not ‘rpg’) that did without the player vs gear model that the current games adhere to. However in my, and quite a large number of other serious PvP minded players opinion(s) when it comes to PvP is that gear should never be a factor, only skill. Otherwise it is not PvP but PvG(ear) or PvT(ime).
I dealt with it in WoW (for far far too many years than I should have) and it was terrible. It was like PvE. “Ok, gear check. Does my gear vastly outrank yours? If yes: Faceroll. If no: Die.” That’s not PvP, it’s some terrible mockery of what PvP is supposed to be.
(I do enjoy my FPS’s still thank you, that’s what I was raised on….ah the glory days of 14.4 baud packet loss warping sarcasm)

Warriors counter Guardian point control.
… How? Just dodge the bullsrush/HB and warrior class has been neutralized regardless of class or spec.

Sadly the only build that seems to really be viable (and I use that term loosely) in TPvP is the typical BR+HB greatsword build. Even then most teams are finding out they’re better off just bringing another thief instead of the warrior.
At least that’s the meta on my server (Anvil Rock). Other warrior builds would be fun/nice but most all of them are pretty weak compared to GS. And GS is mediocre itself.
