More events like the Marionette where individual skill matters as much as group organization.
More dungeons like the Molten Facility.
Less events that require huge numbers of players.
On 3 consecutive tries in overflow it didn’t work. Unacceptable execution for the season finale.
I think GW1 had something like that on the battle isles. I think it would be cool in GW2 as well.
Saw a video of this new finisher, thought it was amazing and bought it. Then I was surprised with how quiet the Mad King’s laugh is (which is the main thing behind it’s awesomeness). Between the sounds of the ongoing fights around me, the music, the environment and “Skyhammer’s been calibrated to Red team” it is pretty much impossible to hear it.
I am still going to use it but the pleasure I get is not the same as the BOOM! from the SAB finisher.
Why stop at just having all buffs? Lets presume all conditions on the targets as well. Then a mes with 3 iwarlocks out then swapping to 1h sword will have the highest dps. ’Cause I mean all bosses/mobs just run around with everything on them naturally and we run around with all buffs all the time. Phantasms are immortal as well.
(Aka why that more damage stuff with full buffs/max vuln is meaningless bullkitten)
It’s not that hard to get max buffs in an organized group.
You totally missed my point.
Then you missed the point of the guy who did the calculations.
Elixir B (with the 20% elixir recharge trait) combined with the 5 skill on med kit is also perma swiftness (also nice uptime of fury). I never go out exploring without that combo.
It’s probably my favorite back skin. Leaves a slight fumes trail when running too. I put it on my ele with SE armor though. The whole hobo sack situation with engis makes me so sad.
I can confirm 10k achievement chest gives 1x total make over kit.
Also the 5k chest.
Mike Zadorojny (Anet exec) said that income from the gem store is “absolutely enough” to sustain the 2 week update schedule so obviously as of right now they have no financial problems.
They’ve added fractals, guild missions, lots of skins, 2 temp dungeons and 1 perma dungeon path, revamped one dungeon, revamped world bosses (including total Teq overhaul), revamped WvW map, WvW exclusive skills and traits, added several PvP maps, one perma new PvE zone, several new mini games, new skills and traits will also come by the end of 2013, tons of quality of life updates (wallet!).
That’s pretty good if you ask me and I am positive an expansion will sell like hot cakes.

You were averaging 30+ CoE path runs per day?
You essentially have to kill him three times to finish him off. It’s annoying. I very rarely do that event.
Elite skills that are actually elite.
There were huge complaints about armor in GW1, especially when it turned out that the EotN armor was all old reskins. So I wouldn’t say armor.
What I miss the most is having tons of good builds per class instead of 2-3 and all the classes being unique instead of get zerker armor, stack in melee and spam 1 regardless of whether you are a warrior, mesmer or ranger or anything else.
Underwater combat is terribly unbalanced. They largely removed it from WvW as well.
I was worried about that when they showed the preview. Sadly, there are unskippable NPC dialogues not only at the start but throughout the dungeon. I can see how that can be really annoying after 3-4 runs let alone 10-20.
The only thing I would really change is so many elite enemies.
They are no hard. They are only time-consuming.
Fighting them is as fun as freaking punching trees in Minecraft.
Try playing Honor of the Waves first. Then, you will feel like you are one-shotting the enemies in the new path.
As for the OP, I think it is a reasonable suggestion. Who is going to play the new path when it is not new anymore and you can get the same rewards faster with other paths?
I think they should keep the rewards as they are now even when the living story chapter concludes. Otherwise people will flock to the easier dungeons for easier rewards. I doubt many will risk spending an hour and a possible fail if in that same timeframe they can run cof 1, se 1 and 3 and hotw 1 and get more rewards.
“We’re also looking to make conditions scale better in PvE/WvW leveling so that they’re more viable at different junctures in the level scale.”
Emphasis mine.
Praise metrics.
Least played dungeon is a terrible metric to use. Going by it, the best dungeon in the game is CoF 1 and the best activity in the game is champ zerging.
I am more worried that we will have to listen to 10 minutes of unskippable NPC dialogue every time. On the first run it will be OK but imagine after 10+ runs. Nobody will be interested in the story, they just want to play the dungeon.
It sucks i was planning on finally trying out those paths tomorrow and now one will be gone.
If it makes you feel any better, most people hate that path. I do.
Most people hate hotw 2 and 3, se 2, ac 2 and cof 3. Hopefully Anet doesn’t just delete them as well. I’d rather they fix them – lower boss HP would be a great start.
I agree. It should have been fixed. However, what I find with TA is that too much of the paths are repeated anyway for my taste. No matter what path I was running it felt basically like the same thing.
So I welcome the diversity the new path will bring.
Which doesn’t mean the old path should have been removed.
Absolutely. I can’t wait for the mixture between MF and AR new dungeon path but deleting an existing path altogether just doesn’t make sense. All of a sudden I am not looking forward to the fractal update if it means 2-3 fractals will be deleted.
Didn’t Anet say that they are working on this problem like 9-10 months ago?

By that logic, they should delete another 4-5 dungeon paths, half of the open world areas, including all the major cities besides LA. Nobody plays there either.
Forward Up was one of the least played dungeon paths in the game
It’s been least played, because it has been broken for half the year, which the devs kept ignoring. I understand that instead of making few small tweaks that would fix the problem, it was just easier to handwave it away, but that is hardly what i could call a professional behaviour.
Absolutely agree. It was broken which meant pugs stayed away. Now I am afraid HotW p2 and p3, AC p2, SE p2 and CoF p3 might be goners at some point too because pugs don’t play them either. I’d rather they fix the existing paths instead of removing them from the game for good.
sadly both Thump and Lazer are far too slow for me. I had to stop so I could see Thump yesterday. (I had a temp one — which I love anet, lets me sample them)
I am still considering buying the mega bomb. Simple, effective, nice looking.
Definitely buy the bomb. It’s extremely satisfying as it lands right on your stomp. I had the Giant but couldn’t resist getting the bomb as well. My goal is to have a different awesome finisher for each of the 3-4 chars that I pvp with.
Right click – destroy. If you ever need those again, there will be a way to get them again.
Please do.

Cursed shore was also desolated after the penitent/shelter/plinx nerf and before the champ trains.
I agree with Astral. The “improved” baby-blue zodiac weapons made me sad.
Depends. I was very annoyed by the election choice because they said they will only make one of the fractals and will never make the other one. This was stupid because both were great ideas. It’s like asking us if we want new weapon skins or new armor skins but whatever we chose we can never have the other choice.
Haha, please don’t make me dig the piles of threads complaining that the two week cycle is too much and too quick. Now the “it’s not enough” threads arrive to fight them. Poor Anet can never win.
I personally think that an additional permanent dungeon path is good enough. Especially if it is as awesome as the Molten Facility and the Aetherblade Retreat.
I assume current Dungeon Masters will remain the same while new ones will have to finish the new path as well.
Probably not, but like most updates that come at the beginning of the month, this one should last a whole month, ie the entire October.
I am thinking they will have the ability to change stats out of combat like the legendary weapons. That would be great with regards to changing builds and gear. Right now, if you want to play different builds you have to carry a million armor and trinket pieces with you.
Actually, half of the updates (those at the beginning of each month) DO last for 1 whole month. The other half (those in the middle of the month) last for 2 weeks but have easy and quick achievements that can be done in 2-3 hours of gameplay.
The argument that some players are getting an advantage over others with AP is not serious I hope. 2% more karma and 3% more copper ohhhh overpowered! Not.

It’s actually new info about the update. Wonder if the existing TA paths will get some revamp. Seems like they won’t.
Don’t guardians always overwrite the combo fields with their symbol spam? Area retaliation ftw.
- DO LONG/HARD DUNGEON, NOT 6 EASY DUNGEONS WITH 24 SHORT PATHS
NO
But, but.. that’s what I wanted. I wanted to be stuck in the same place for hours on end doing the same thing, wiping every so often and picking myself back up and slowly chipping away at hitpoint boxes.
Hang on a second.. I can do that right now. *goes to gw2lfg *
‘GLFM Hotw P2- Need 4 cleric’s and pvt geared players to go, bear/bow rangers and autoattack staff necros welcome!’
NO SKIPPING THE OAKHEARTS!!
No dont touch AC its Perfect as it is , i want them to fix hotw
Total borefest if u dont have full bzerk\scholar party
The bosses in hotw are sooooo laaameee its so easy
But so long its just pathetic . WTB a better autoatack
To afk while doing hotw .
The best part is in p2 where you fight an oakheart with 1 billion hp and when you finally get him down… you fight another oakheart with 1 billion hp O.o. You can skip the first one but still what a lazy design. Otherwise I find the environment and the armor skins pretty good.
Oh god, please don’t. Aside from the end bosses I really enjoy Twilight Arbor. They just needed tweaks here and there not a start from scratch attitude. I’m really hoping that this Scarlet thing is a permanent path 4.
I seriously doubt they are starting from scratch. Actually, in the AC revamp the major change was the end bosses (also Spider and Kholer a bit). Most of the dungeon remained the same.
It’s even slower than the Thump the Giant finisher which I thought was borderline acceptable. When I saw the Vigil Laser on Youtube I thought it looks amazing but no way I am getting it – by the time the animation is done I will be on the other side of the map. Sticking to the Giant for now.
ARGH, more rng! So 6/25 chance to get a new dye and 1/25 to get the one you want. In other words, gamble if you want to invest and buy from TP if you want to use, I guess.
Thanks for the codes, Dulfy. There will be quite some previewing tonight.
First problem : Everybody doing FAST runs/ avoiding boss tactics/mechanics/ jumping throught objects to avoid dungeon path, and avoid trash mobs.
+ Bosses are always pulled out of their ZONE, so their tactics can be easily dodged/bugged/exploited.Second problem : really easy tactic, just stand and press qwert and again , except some bosses where u must to dodge some AoE damage.
Third problem : lot of paths, and too short – whats the point of having 3 paths in every dungeon when theyre 10m long. i would rather have 3x hard 1 hour dungeons than 6 with lot of 10m paths…
First problem: Not really a problem. Some groups like to speed run, others take their time. You can join whoever you like.
Second problem. Yes, a lot of the bosses are just tank and spank but Anet has taken note. The Molten Facility, the Aetherblade Retreat and some fractals have unique designs that actually require you to pay attention and play skillfully.
Third problem: That’s pretty subjective. I love 15 min path runs. Why would I want to be stuck in one place for 1.5h?
What is this bowbear ranger anyways? Brown Bear is bad? Bow is bad?
And I use still use DM on my main char….I didn’t get carried either…
Bearbow is a ranger with a bow and pet bear, ideally sitting at 1500 range autoattacking. Known for one of the worst dps in the game competing with staff guardians, GS mesmers, flamethrower engis, pistol Thieves, and cleric eles.
Colin said that TA was high on the list for dungeon revamps so I think they will be tweaking the existing paths and not adding a new path.
Agree n disagree. I agree because it true that it brings a lot of ppl and the fight is challenging enough. Disagree because overflows are a complete mess and teq’s chest is so laughable its almost insulting to what anet is giving us for defeating this dragon. Why can’t a person of X server has a priority over some1 who guests? If im in jq and i come for teq i watch &^%^%^& who guested to my server to be kicked and get back to their holes! in 5 days i could only get to my server three times and its normally at 3-4am wtf
The main servers are not a guarantee for a good fight. Most organized groups just find a newly created empty overflow for themselves so they don’t have to deal with the pugs and/or afkers on the main server.
In Bulgaria it’s Bulgarian 1st, English 2nd, Russian 3rd, German is not common at all.
I usually ignore LFGs that are not in English. There is enough English ones so no problem for me.
