I’ve done WvW from the start and I’ve given the new BL maps the chance to draw me in but no matter how much I play on the new BL maps there is nothing wanting me to come back and play on them. It’s just to much of a pain to navigate around and way to much verticality for my taste for a PvP map.

Yeah, sadly this is the only thing keeping me from obtaining my dark harvest. I’ve completed VB, and AB..haven’t bothered with TD or DS until I get my completion rewards for the other two.

The people that are saying No, that we still need time to “test” these maps are delusional at this point. There is no more “testing” or “adapting” needed.

I’ve played WvW since launch and these new maps are horrible in design. They’re just way to annoying to navigate and it’s not even about the karma or xp. I was always a roamer and never followed the zerg and these maps make it so I see no one at all roaming around, just so boring.

I wouldn’t say I want the old maps back but they really need to look at these maps and go back to the drawing board. The automatic upgrades are also a bad idea. I’m assuming the people who designed these WvW maps never played WvW much in the first place, since the place looks gorgeous but it’s just to hard to get around atm.

Yea, because navigating around this map is so fun…not to mention if you are on a lower pop server you will get many fights happening all the time. The map is beautiful but it doesn’t change the fact that this map is just horribly designed when it comes to getting where you want to go.. way to much vertically also for a map designed for PvP..no bueno.

I’ve put in about 2,200 hours into this game and about 1,700 of those hours have been through WvW and I have to say I absolutely hate the new maps, but honestly that node nerf does suck if you think about it..sure It brought PvErs into our maps but at least it brought players to fight now it’s completely dead.

Yeah i better explain more . I mean yeah its a buff for the skill but its still bad and cant outdps pure power reaper . Necro still has weak condis ( bleed chill , some poison ) . Well ,pvp talking . Havent tried any condi build for pve . I still dont see any reason to give up BB and my pure dmg build to change to condi build and this “buff” . I dmg testing several times . Imo power reaper is still the best option to go pvp wise!

You better keep testing because from my testing condi is still superior for PvP that is not running in a Zerg while doing WvW but smaller scale fights. How do we have weak poison btw? We can apply 12 stacks in reaper, not including the burning from dhumfire and vulnerability. Now applying an additional 900-1k ticks of chill damage is just icing on the cake, not to mention our bleeds can ramp up there fine also.

Deatly Chill "buff"

It’s a buff..I have about 2068 condi damage and It’s up to 822 or so from the previous 690-700ish. I’ve been messing around with it on my dire/rabid built necro and I really enjoy it for PvP purposes while doing some WvW roaming about, but for PvE might be a different story. I mean I have 6 ways to apply chill using scepter/dagger and staff, so seems pretty solid atm That is if you take chill applied on blinding.

I’ve always primarily have done roaming/havoc squads on my necro, but I feel reaper with rabid/dire gear in WvW as far as roaming is concerned right now is very strong. I can not only flip camps faster but players drop quicker than I could ever remember. I’ve got about 1,500 hours played on my necromancer and I’m enjoying it thus far. The RS just feels so good. I can apply burning, poison and vulnerability so easily now.

I have about 1,500 hours on my necromancer. I’ve played my necromancer from the start and when I saw this thread it made me lol. I’ve been kicked out of Pug groups in the past for playing necro and it really sucked. I feel atleast now I have a chance to be somewhat more viable in groups and also be more self sufficient.

I really love the new changes and if you for one come in here asking for nerfs you’re out of your mind. I suppose you don’t realize when ANET nerfs a class they usually gut the class pretty bad. I remember a time when just about everyone was playing Warrior and that was it. I’m glad there a little more diversity now in the classes people are playing atm.

I’ve always solo roamed on my necro and I’ve never had any issues killing off most classes 1v1, so you’re just doing it wrong. I believe the only time I’ve had issues are with warrior who’s running GS/Sword and board With zerker stance and rampage amongst and is able to disengage enough times to drain my life force and then return back to finish me off. I’ve had a few issues with mesmers but not much recently. I’am running a terrormancer with perplexity runes though, so again I feel I have the upper hand in most fights as it is.

Let’s face it the only people who are ok with the time it takes to release changes are those who main a warrior. I main a necro and yes the schedule when changes are released are way to slow.

I mean heck this the only MMO I’ve ever played where “condition” damage has really no use in PvE and it’s been years already. I feel when changes do come around they are usually a big let down since you have to wait so long for such minor tweaks.

Its not a balance patch so all class stuff is tooltips and bug fixes. How have you not realised thats how it always is? Just because they fixed a tooltip doesnt mean it wont be altered in the very next balance patch. In fact it may have been corrected ready for a change.

+1. Anet’s policy is to introduce changes with big feature packs in the hope of drawing old and new players. Big changes are a lot more exciting and attractive than small, gradual tweaks.

I personally feel if changes were made gradually. It would keep players from moving onto other games and keep them interested in GW2 for longer periods of time.

I for example have not played much GW2 in a long time because of the lack of changes to my necromancer. I’m not talking about every few weeks but atleast every month or 2, not 6 months….

I main a necro and in no way do I find mesmers OP it’s just a L2P issue. I hate people who get beat by said X class and assume that class must be OP.

Sadly breaks my heart everytime I see threads like this. I have invested quite alot of time with my necro and have enjoyed using him for WvW, but when it comes to PVE content seems like there is not even a point in trying.

I wouldn’t mind so much if lifeblasts projectile speed wasn’t laughable and not to mention if you’re running condi you’re not exactly trying to get auto attacks off in deathshroud. I understand that nerfing needed to be done but I feel it’s just not all that worth taking dhuumfire anymore for pvp purposes anyhow.

Don’t get me wrong I want changes as much as the next necro but people seem to complain a tad to much at times. I mean let’s be real here in 1v1’s and even group scenario’s a necro running a dhuumfire condi terror build with epidemic is no joke. I mean heck if we were so bad off we’d be losing every 1v1 encounter which is not the case. I feel we are rather lackluster in PvE content though that’s for sure and could some better way of surviving focus fire than having to rely on DS for all our mitigation purposes.

yeah, know I was bored a few times had rabid gear figured hmm what unusual build to use condi’s with minion’s. I was running 30 in spite for burning and minion damage, 10 in curses for barbed precision and hemophilla and 30 in deathmagic till you get minion health and death nova=p posion hurts when your minions die in AoE situations and you still output some nice condi damage and walk around with quite alot of toughness, not the best but if you’re bored lol

Yep, I feel after the change it’ll be way to situational and in my opinion no longer worth it being a grandmaster trait. I mean seriously a slow moving projectile like life blast? I’m tired of the dev’s trying to balance so many skills around dhuumfire and with this nerf to dhuumfire now leaves all the skills they nerfed prior to dhuumfire weaker.

I really feel you guys should reconsider what you’ll be doing to dhuumfire as almost every necromancer that has posted on here seems to be disagreeing with the changes you’ll be implementing. I have really nothing else further to say as it’s already been said, just listen up.

I like this idea. I’d say 10% seems alright actually especially if the necro is running a more bunkerish build as I know when I’ve gotten my necro’s health to 32kish my lifeforce bar maxes out at around 20kish or so, 10% life force would equal 2k+ lifeforce gain in a single CC thrown your way doesn’t seem that much to be honest.

As many have stated you just have to wait until zerker stance is over and done with a carry corrupt boon that’s it really. I have gotten beat by a few hammer warriors but I usually come out on top in most of my fights. I just see em pop zerker stance and move away from them avoiding their hammer abilities as best as I can they are easily telegraphed and then just turn around and condition dump em and use your fear chains. The only warriors I’ve fought that beat me where the ones who disengaged on me at the right time to essentially waste my DS and then come back when I had little DS left, btw if you engage a warrior make sure you have full DS obviously.

Well, precision seems a little meh unless you have a decent amount of crit damage or running a condi build with barbed precision but that’s just me. I feel with soldier’s you’re just alot more insanely tanky, just my opinion anyhow. I’d be curios to hear from other necro’s and their thoughts as I’ve also been running MM here and there and I do find it to be a fun build.

I’ve always roamed around solo for the majority of my 280 wvw ranks and I’d agree it’s quite annoying when you have no real means of escapes when a zerg or group wants you dead. I guess I’ve just grown use to it and when in team fights they’ll always focus me first which another pain in the kitten when you have no real way of surviving multiple people beating on you at all for long anyways. I’d say if people want our damage nerfed “condi/terrorbuilds” they really need to look at our other glaring weaknesses.

First off, ANet is deathly afraid of indestructible SPVP necro bunkers. End result, they will move with extreme caution when it comes to upping necro survivability.

Second, ANet is attempting to favor build diversity in the Blood line. This by making Bloodthirst optional rather than mandatory when building for siphon. Thus freeing up a trait slot. Or at least that seems to be their thinking.

I already figured Anet would be concerned with indestructible necro bunkers but have yet to understand if Anet actually tests some of this stuff thoroughly enough before it goes live. I honestly can’t even see a point in picking up these traits as they scale horribly and pretty much give the same health they gave before the patch just makes as if no change even happened to begin with..kitten es me off =/

October 15th Patch - Necromancer Edition

From my initial testing, Vampiric master is a nerf for MM builds. Pre-patch I would see around about 114 inc heal from a minion. Now I’m seeing 86 pre minion, I changed to a Clerics Amulet, took my healing upto about 1360 and it didn’t change so it looks like it is NOT changing with Healing Power? Also life siphon doesn’t seem to scale well at all either. Another thing I’ve noticed, minions are LESS responsive post patch, they seem to sit there for upto 10 seconds before attacking my target.

The more I look into this, either stuff is just broken (they got the scaling completely wrong) or it’s an ill-thought out “buff” that is ACTUALLY a nerf. This is in sPvP/tPvP btw.

The buff here is that it now does extra damage… they nerfed the healing to compensate for added DPS, not that i think thats cool just what happened

they honestly should have just added the Dps portion to more healing since as of right now not many will still want to use the blood trait lines with their bad scaling and very low damage.

I’m starting to get the impression this whole revamp was a big ruse. I really just cant fathom how they could invest weeks of testing and equations into the blood traits just to have them give the exact same amount of healing as before. Then have the nerve to try to sell it as if they were actually going to attempt to make them viable. The whole thing feels like a shell game or typical Anet wordplay to justify there ineptitude. Still, I hope i’m wrong and its just bugged atm

The idea is to base life steal on Healing Power, you should see little to no change with general power or condition gear but if you equip clerics or something now you can buff your life steal…. its actually kind of cool. (and they way it should have always been)

Sadly, people have already tested clerics gear with healing power and there isn’t exactly a noticeable difference in the amount of health you gain back as the scaling still sucks.

yep, usually when I’m playing and roaming abit around with my necro and yes I die quite often not going to lie lol but in 1v1 scenerio’s I rarely ever lose if ever against warrior’s or most other classes as for warrior’s it’s pretty easy to kite them as someone stated until their zerker stance is over and done with and avoiding their CC is all about timing once they have no zerker stance and blew most of their CC it’s usually GG the best advice I Can give you is making sure you do land your CC’s and avoid being kited as much as possible and avoiding our fears as we create distance that way to kite more =). I’d say this also though if a necromancer starts running low on deathshroud for any reason we are usually as good as dead, so making us waste deathshroud is also a good strategy.

I’d have to agree although I primarly focus in PvP/WvW and my necromancer feels pretty dang strong in that aspect atm with condtions. I still feel very lackluster when doing any PvE content against world bosses or even dungeon bosses. I’d love for them to find a way to not necessarily raise the bleed cap but perhaps give us away to deal extra damage when the bleed cap is reached somehow?

I got about 1,100 hours on my necro just got all his ascended rabid weapons scepter, staff..dagger and obtained champion phantom and a while ago, rank 250 in wvw if that means anything and primarly have always played condi necro and I’d be the first to say that my necro’s condi damage is pretty high atm. I don’t have problem with many classes d/d ele’s if played well usually give me some challenge and the occassional hammer warrior and even shatter mesmer but I usually carry corrupt boon and signet of spite when I roam and as for a stun breaker use spectral armor running the dreaded 30/20/0/0/20 build.

I do feel even though our damage is quite high our way to disengage fights is possibly the worst comparable to that of a guardian and when focused it’s usually GG which we always tend to although if I run with my guardian buddy it’s a scary sight. I have a feeling Anet is not going to nerf us but give more condition cleanses to classes that require It the most suppose.

I’d say the best thing to do is just avoid most condi necro’s in 1v1’s situations we just have the ability to transfer condtions easily and withstand quite the punishment by poping in and out of deathshroud and the guy above me complaining about perplex runes we can throw the confusion back at the mesmers and engi’s and btw perplex runes are OP everyone knows that by now =p but not so much against necro’s

I’m really tired of hearing people say oh I work 12 hours a day blah blah so essentially I should have everything handed to me because I’m on a such busy schedule well heck I work 9-10 hours a day, spend 2 hours at a gym and I still welcome the challenge. I swear it’s like most gamers have gotten spoiled as we’ve gotten older over the years with games getting more dumbed down to appeal to the “casual guys” but some of us actually want wortwhile content that is challenging.

I mean let’s face it tequati was beaten the first day so isn’t not like it’s impossible. I actually want content in a game not everyone will beat anytime soon makes it more worthwhile to keep coming back and if you say you don’t have enough time to do a fight it’s 15 minutes…seriously.

I will agree that raising the life on the other bosses was a little lazy as it doesn’t add really much challenge but just prolongs a boring fight.

Well, let’s put it out this way the guys who are in the T1 servers are going to be the vocal majority that’d agree to this change as for them this is a good patch as it throws another element in wvw for them to concentrate on and it’d be more balanced on their side. but for other servers who are beating the opposition by a huge lead or vice versa not so much.

Nope, don’t approve the buff is too strong for those who are already on a server with a big lead over the other servers, not fun….

I like the art design and layout though kudos to those guys.
