How do you feel when you down?

I don’t feel anything. It’s just a game deteriorating slowly, so who cares. Besides, I always blame the internet.

Diablo 3 is getting rid of the auction house next year and a better loot system, that’s a good candidate for the game that I finally give up GW2 to go play.

Back during the Deadeye Farm craze I had my guardian up at 101% crit and there were still non-crit hits happening. Don’t know if that’s due to a bug with Right Hand Strength (it still doesn’t display in the H panel, you have to just add the 15 yourself) or something else wonky with the crit% calculations.

Just mentioning this to say it might not always so bad to be a little above 100%. If there is a bug, that is.

I thought right hand strength didn’t apply to reflect damage. That’s why you wouldn’t crit sometimes.

I’m pretty sure I was hitting closer to 100% than 85%. That would be the first I’ve ever heard of that.

Thats because its capped. Not sure what its capped to, probably about 99%.

That would explain it.

Why anyone whines about fgs doing 175k when feedback does 800k and completely nullifies enemy damage? I’m complaining about reflections being overpowered in pve since ever, not only they negate all damage but deal it back.

You must have a very short memory because there was tons of whining about how much damage Feedback does to Lupi when you guys started posting your sub-30s kills.

Do you have any advice on how best to deal with kittenty phase 1 locust RNG? Or would you suggest just resetting if you get crap like what made me ragequit last night, where his first scream brought 4 locusts followed by 3 on the next?

Depends on what you’re trying, if you’re trying to get a speedclear done, you cant really afford more than one 3+ locust spawn I’d say, if not, I recommend putting up a temportal curtain on a place where the warden is likely to spawn, the cast the warden, pull swarms in, immobilise with skill 3 and shatter once warden is done hitting, Aside from that, you can always use timewarp if you get in a situation like that, use it well, shatter a bit and let the warden hit a lot, you should be able to get most of them dead.

Haha welll I’m just trying to plain get it finished, I’m not even worried about speed yet. Thanks for the tip.

Fiery Rush isn’t an exploit, though, so restricting it’s use would be kittened and nothing i’d agree on.

Agreed, and a +1 to the idea of two record sets. One that will stand the test of time and one that is a current including whatever you want.

There’s pretty much zero chance that we’ll be able to buy ascended gear simply with dungeon tokens. There’s just no way they’d allow anything to circumvent the huge gold-sink and time-gated nature of ascended crafting.

Dungeon items are simply going to be for skins only, which is also fun cause a lot of them still have trash item icons a year after release.

How can I stop Lupi resetting in the doors?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Broadicea.8294

Broadicea.8294

Lupi will move away from you if you get too close. If you sit at max melee range he’ll remain stationary.

“max melee range” usually refers to being far away enough that auto attacks no longer trigger (red bar under your auto skill), but close enough that you can still hit him. As dub said, that’s a bad idea at Lupi.

Actually, what matters most is internal comparative accuracy. It’s irrelevant if the numbers in game differ, what matters is that is the calculator says Build A is better than Build B that it’s true in game as well.

Understandable, but then it would be nice to have as accurate a comparison as possible using actual hard metrics rather than a simple “better than” or “worse than” comparator, since I might be ok trading 5% personal DPS out for the convenience of condi removal on demand, or something of that nature. The calculator should do that, but if the calculator says 5% difference it would be nice to verify that in game as well. 100 seconds to kill something versus 95 seconds to kill it (on average of course) would prove out the theoretical approach.

Exactly

And as for the independent verification, I tested the behaviour of every factor that my calcualtor takes into account. So, using your speedometer analogy, if every component of the device has been approved then the final object must be working correctly. Well, provided I put the pieces in the right place! That’s why I am asking for feedback.

You must never have worked professionally with software or electronics before. Or met a QA person.

Guys I’m not trying to rag on anyone doing “theory crafting”, and this isn’t rocket science. If you come up with a hypothesis, it doesn’t matter how sound it is on the blackboard, what matters is the field test. NASA doesn’t go from the blackboard to the launchpad without testing in between. Pharma doesn’t get a product on the shelves until the clinical trials have been reviewed. Toyota doesn’t just calculate G forces caused during a crash, they test that sucker. That’s all I’m asking about.

You can easily adjust the armor of targets in the calculator

As for your test Broadicea, if you put the correct input in the calculator then it will give your correct average dps.

Independent verification is what I’m talking about. We can trust that the speedometer in my car is correct, but independent verification from another source would prove that conclusively. Your calculator says I’ll do xxxx damage, I’d like to see an independent measurement of that damage to verify the theoretical basis of your model. Not that I believe it’s incorrect, I’m just much more biased towards empirical data and analysis.

Multi guild organized try on Underworld. This is kitten difficult. To beat him ATM you need for every person to be near perfect.

I see he has his bone wall up. Very organized, yes.

About to try again. Had 55 people on TS, had about 5 big guilds of the server, so YES this is the BEST we can do. If we won’t manage it better, we won’t manage it better. The thing is there was commanding, there was defending, there was attacking. In the end we ended up with too little people on the turrets defending, therefore at the very end the turrets fell. It’s a balancing act. A very precise one.

Sounds like bad leadership to me. Get smarter commanders.

Probably the damage calculation since that’s what it really all boils down to, at least for the dungeon forum folks. You would need to factor in the armor level of whatever mob you’d be using I’d suppose. Good candidates for damage sponges: Abomination in Arah p2, any kind of Giant (the champs in P3, perhaps) The Destroyer in CoE/3. Of course some of those guys are also levels 80+, don’t know if anyone’s figured out the damage reduction for that yet.

Just have a place where you can add in the armor level to adjust the damage numbers if possible.

Honestly, though, I don’t think it’s that important. If the formulae are accurate, you can still calculate the highest DPS build on some set armor level. You could still find out which build is the highest DPS, which is what matters most, since it will also be the highest DPS against a higher armor enemy.

True, armor probably doesn’t matter, but what I’d like to see is a calculator saying I’ll do xxxx DPS, then go into the game, record a fight, and be able to look at my combat log/the floaters and compare.

Last one I was in on DB, I organized the north turret defense with only about 7 people plus 3 turreteers and we were never in trouble. I think the southern turrets get a little more pressure from mobs than the northern. So I’d say North only needs like 5-7 (well organized) people on defense, South might need 10-12. No need for a full party on each turret, that’s overkill.

From what I’ve been seeing, you need 4 commander tags: 1 Left Turret, 1 Left Ranged DPS, 1 Right Turret, 1 Right Ranged DPS.

The Turret commanders lead players that are protecting the turret users. Their job is to direct the destruction of fingers, kill mobs, and ensure the safety of the turrets.

The DPS commanders are markers. they stand IN FRONT of the turrets while the turret users spam 4 and 5 on them and the mob surrounding them.

Players on turrets are VERY important. They need to understand that they are pressing #2 for scales, # 4 for buffing the DPS commander markers, and #3 to remove poison. Throw in #5 on DPS commander markers to make add heals.

That sounds like a very solid strategy.

Z3rkur gear is more successful when the whole team is wearing it. You’ve got PVT gear in which you try to out-endure your opponent, then Zirkor in which it’s kill before you’re killed. So a majority of players able to out-endure a boss’ attacks teamed up with poor Basurkor whose quickly running out of dodges does make Bagsirkor look worse, despite the fact that he probably did double the damage contribution of the PVT carebears before going down.

Prime example of this is the Slave Driver in CoF1. 5 Burgzirghuirz will melt him before anyone downs, start adding in PVT players and people start downing.

Any good ele build lately? I have not run my ele in ages but would like to try again. Her current build is 20/30/0/20/0 and 10/30/0/20/10

in short: 30/10/10/10/10
from what ive heard from the friend who runs this it has very high dps in groups but pretty hard to use. i think it mostly uses LH and blasts in firefields in between 2 hammers. the weapons he uses are mainly S/D ( main reason for that are combos)

Why 10 in Arcana? What use could that be over the extra damage modifier from going 20 into Water?

You can check using the /ip command in-game, then launching Resource Monitor if you’re on Windows 7 and look at latency for that connection in the TCP Connections area.

150-250+ on US almost consistently, 20-50 on EU. Sometimes i get massive lag every few seconds on either region, though.

I wonder how much better I could do with 30 ms ping

He gets a stack every 3-5 seconds. You can’t get rid of the stacks fast enough. Eventually he WILL become immune.

Nah. 6 turrets available to remove 6 stacks every 12 seconds? Do the math.
