Ballista damage should be decreased against players, and increased/kept constant against opposing siege. Ballistas are intended to destroy opponents’ siege for a tactical advantage, not to ruin a legitimate fight.

Eotm is a great place if i want to ktrain, get badges, or level an uplevel. However the way the servers are set up is completely unfair. Putting all the leading servers in green, mid in blue, and the lacking in red. The outcome is horrible. If your green, your always going to have a fun time in eotm, same if you are blue, but for red you literally are nothing but some scrub in a matchup that people use for ppt. Eotm should be randomized, this is completely unfair that red side almost 90% of the time is sitting around with only 10 people while FR and OG have 50 man zergs.

GW2 has many strengths… and several GLARING weaknesses. This is, by far, one of the worst features of the game.

I didn’t actually enjoy green. That was pure, boring farming. Blue was, by far, my favorite. Running from one overpowered zerg while chasing the vastly weaker red zerg was fun. Red just plain sucks. I can only assume they’re being punished for losing in WvW.

Along side merging the servers, are you guys forgetting that if a person leave a server, they lose their bank guild (if they created one)? At least thats what I’ve been under the impression of (I could be wrong). They would have to some how compensate us players that lose out on personal guilds (heck any guild for that matter, unless they can just switch the guilds server, which I don’t think they can). At least if they ever merge before those ‘announced’ guild changes are released.

I’ve said that in jest before, that the top servers (any that can be accurately described as “stacked”) should be disbanded and their members scattered. But that’s not a cool thing to do.

As for losing guild upgrades yes, that may suck. But if you decide to move (and don’t live in a trailer) you don’t get to take your house with you anyway. Take all the furniture and everything that isn’t nailed down, but the house stays. It makes a certain amount of sense.

Since a personal guild probably wasn’t really what ANet had in mind for GW2, a guild being a group or an association, I doubt there will be any compensation. And if it’s a guild with members plural, who do you compensate, and with what?

Regardless, as I may have subtly indicated in previous posts, I’m against the idea of a merger. :-P

I see you still think I’m on gold! I have been in bronze for almost two years now. I know what’s good for you better than you do because I have played on several healthy servers that ARE NOT GOLD. The play experience you seek to preserve exists in a better form when the population of your server and the servers around you have more players. You can still play as you desire to, and everyone who wants to have larger scale battles has a better chance of seeing one happen. Roamers keep roaming, zergs zerg each other, and when I log on at 3 in the morning to play, there would be some other people around. And did you know that all of the bronze servers aren’t exactly like ET? We’re not deserted.

We’re not empty. If you’re empty, then sort it out in your own server and don’t destroy mine and others because you want something that’s available elsewhere. There’s no death happening on my server or, from the sounds of it, DH. Other servers can chime in with their own impressions.

Stop suggesting that what a single server wants is more important than the wants of the servers it would destroy to get it.

Why not come to t1 for a week or 2. You will find lots of roamers, small guild groups, yes zergs, havoc groups etc. there is more to do in wvw then down in t7. I’ve been down there in lower ranks, I’ve upgraded the whole side of eternal only to lose it to 30 people. No one helped me defend it cause wvw was dead. I left and now I play with people.

I just logged off and the bottom 3 servers are fielding tons of people right now. I tried to get a good shot of ET’s zerg but I wasn’t able to catch them all. This is about a 3rd of their group.

On top of that they had 5-10 man roaming groups attacking our camps and our bl was being attacked by another group. Not exactly tumbleweeds.

The people who say “oh we are skilled 1 v 1 and t1 isent” you guys are just pveing in your server. All there is, 1-2 roamers an hour and npc to kill.

There’s only so long people will put up with being shafted repeatedly by the company, even the ones ‘enjoying’ tumbleweed central.

I don’t want to take their community and server pride away. ANet does. Season 2 reward failure is just a small step in their obvious plan to break down the morale.

I’m not suggesting a merge with T1-3, there are plenty of servers below them.

And:

T2 NA is all about fights and GvG culture, not PPT blobbing and karma trains, so don’t group NA T2 in with T1 and T3 etc. T2 servers will blob if they are versing a blob server, but won’t actively blob themselves.

Example season 1, SOS v BG v 3rd server.

SoS runs 20 man group, continually wipes 30-40 man BG guild groups (lol 40 man guild group what a joke). BG brings in 2 more guild groups to help them, it now becomes 20 v 60-80. BG wipes the 20 man. SOS says, alright fine, and brings in 2 small guilds, it is now 40-50 v 60-80, and SOS continually wipes BG blob. Oh and don’t forget BG’s map queues on the other 3 maps, while SOS might not even have 1 queued even if they abandoned the other 3 maps entirely.

Where SOS would normally have 3 guilds doing their own guild raids, they had to team up to fight the endless BG blobs. T2 guilds will always beat T1 blobs/guilds as long as the numbers are relatively close. But by no means do they need even numbers or number advantages to win.

Aside from the general pug zerg, which isn’t very big, all of T2 run small groups compared to T1 and T3, they’re just superior fighters.

Db is a fairweather server and sos t1 blobs the heck out of everything. Mag is the gvg server there.

There’s a vocal minority in the low tiers that think it’s awesome to have empty borderlands and no off hours coverage.

Even in tier 1 there are usually 1-2 maps with nothing going on. There’s a reason why higher tier servers have more people: more people find it fun when there’s actual enemies to fight.

That’s the minority. If Anet caters to that population, wvw will die. There is just too many servers(especially in eu). Population is declining each day and new games continue to come out with Anet ignoring wvw all together. Except for waste of time leagues.

As a recent ‘bandwagoner’ to HoD, I find this excuse of bandwagon server slightly null. Yes HoD got a lot of transfers, but the people who transferred are now HoD members. If you scroll up on this post there is a lot of ‘HoD are going to get crushed etc etc’ but as of now were 30k up on FA and with an outnumbered pug group we were wiping FA guild groups all morning. So carry on with the ‘Hordes of Denravi’ because despite the trash talking a few days ago, HoD haven’t had the ‘beating’ we were promised yet.

I hope hod knows FA is just entry lvl. And they lost a ton of guilds. They shouldn’t be celebrating. The real T2 servers are db/mag/sos though sos is T1.5. After leagues, hod will be in T2 or very close to it. Maguuma will prob be pushed down to T3 cause db is 1 rank ahead, then sos will farm hod like crazy.
FA is just a T3 server at best.
Also sounds like the old sbi bandwagoners are on hod, so they will leave after leagues or after the server gets farmed for being bad in wvw.
Hod was never a good server in wvw, they just needed to overwhelm everyone else.

No, IoJ and SBI have been putting up really impressive zergs during those times. It’s not GLOB itself, there is a particular commander that is organzing the PvErs and WvW PUGs into a fighting force. The action has been very hot during early morning NA times.

Like I’ve said many time, IoJ and SBI are really brining it arond the clock, and I think any other servers are going to have a wakeup call when they face these guys. Are you on HoD?

You’re cute. It’s well known BG only succeeds when they have the third server helping them. Notice the attacks on JQ only happen when the third server is also attacking. Convenient no? Because when SOR left the table, BG had no one to hide behind to help them keep the lead. Are we mad? No, we’ve come to expect BG + any third server coupling up together in sweet bromance. It’s no surprise and we just wait for those times during the day when we smell the double team with our morning coffee.

As for the original topic. Since server transfers are still abundant even on “full” servers. Either none of them are actually full or blackouts do indeed work. It means full being players online vs actually state of server capacity . In which case there would be no way to tell if said server is actually at capacity. You could try your luck randomly throughout the day clicking in to see if it is registering full or not. I wish you all the luck, no matter what server you choose.

And all arguing aside, the only difference between servers is size. Attitudes are all the same. Behavior all the same. You just have to know whether you prefer a larger server to a smaller one. Larger not being always better, but it can sometimes mean that events such as pve have a higher chance at success because there is a higher chance of a lot of people doing it. At the same time those events are such you can guest to do them if you really want to. It would only matter WvW, and during season it’s not the best time to really decide that, because WvW is a lot different when not in season.

i would like to ask how long have you been doing WVW? it seems that when JQ gets hit by 2v1 we have instant 3 threads in the forums QQing. but when BG was being 2v1 we just suck it up and defend, back in the SOR, JQ and BG days it was BG who gets 2v1 no matter what week. it was only JQ got 2v1 during first week of the season1. It is a 3 way fight no matter how you look it there will always be 2v1.

grab your balls if you still have if not look for it in which ever BL you lost it from, suck it up JQ. instead of QQing here, this is T1 son either take the heat or go pve.

I think if we have learned anything from Season 1 and now Season 2, its that people will use third party websites like Reddit to organize mass migrations to 3 primary servers to guarantee wins for Gold, Silver and Bronze. Maybe this is not as huge an issue for Gold League, but kitten if it isn’t a massive one for Silver

lets face it, the front loading has already determined the winners. Fort Aspenwood is going to win Silver (unless Yaks does, could be close) but we all know the entire Silver league is a competition between Yaks Bend and Fort Aspenwood, two servers that were front loaded 1 week before people got locked in.

These Seasons are a good idea on paper, but that are absolutely devastating for mid rank server WvW populations. Season 1 broke several of them, sending many of their guilds and players to already overpopulated tier 1 and 2 servers. Season 2 is doing it again just as many of these servers were finally recovering from the massive hemorrhaging of players caused by Season 1. if you need any evidence to just how buggered Silver league is right now, just observe all three tiers of it with the Green team hitting for well over 100k points after 2 days and the next place finishers more more the 50k to 100k behind.

All of this can be avoided if you don’t announce an upcoming season until AFTER the players are bound to their current server. Speaking just from Borlis Passes experience, many of our players went to Fort Aspenwood. And the reason? “Because that is where everyone else is going so we can win Silver League.” Sad thing is, its going to set FA up for a meteoric crash once all these bandwagoners start fighting Jade Quarry after the season is over.

Your facts about Jade Quarry are incorrect. We have not had bad queues since Saturday night. Two of our borderlands are completely unmanned, not a soul to be seen. Yet for some reason people love to say how stacked JQ is. JQ will definitely finish second in this first match up due to lack of coverage in EU/early NA. If JQ gets paired with SoS and BG next week, JQ will probably finish second again. Blackgate blacked out so guilds and pugs could transfer over, and now they have infinite queues and are stacked beyond belief. For this reason I agree that servers should be locked before seasons start to avoid this.

U might wanna check scores again. Tc is 2nd
