Invest less in cringeworthy “espurts” and invest more into making the game fun. When more people like and play pvp the scene will develop itself. You’ve been forcing espurts for 4 years and you’ve always had like 5 teams competing, that should at least make you consider your strategy.
I would not call something that gets 3k viewers on a grandfinal esport. There are some streamers that get that amount daily.
I faced probably the same porting thief today, everyone in the game aknowledged he was hacking. I would also like to know where to report him.
Did you again change the algorithm mid-season? Talking about 2 or 3 days ago. Thanks.
“I’m completely new to pvp and I’m losing ranked games so I concluded that pvp in this game is bad.”
ok
…At least there are thieves/mesmers to share their misery with us.
You’re joking right?
Getting cyber bullied for playing warrior, anet please do something
they say they want to come to my house and kill me and all that mean stuff
Third world problems indeed.
As the title says, this is my only complaint this season wich was also there in S1. There should be some sort of cooldown in the way teams are being matched after finished games. You beat those players for a reason, because you were better (even if it is slightly), 99% of these matchups result in a loss. The only way you can somewhat avoid this is to wait a bit inbetween queues, but it’s still pretty annoying. As this season promotes winstreaks, this “feature” directly contradicts that.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Hour-long-queues
I’m not the one spreading the false information bud. It’s happening to other players. You might have fine ones but you have someone admitting to grouping with lower tier people to get better q times.
It’s the system’s fault because average MMR players were being mixed with new players who didn’t know how to play forcing people to have to carry them, just like last season. However it’s not working well and dropping player’s mmr.
First of all grouping with lower ranked players doesn’t lower your overall team rating anymore. Second, the person complaining about high queue times hasn’t even stated at what hour he’s trying to get games. You’re obviously going to get more games during prime time then during, let’s say 3 in the morning. The second part of your post is just your personal opinion really, BAD players have to lose, GOOD players have to win. It’s the core of every competition. As I explained the occuring “slaughtering” in the early days of the season could’ve been solved by placing legendary players in sapphire at the start of the next season to avoid this.
so you are ok that on 10 player 5 best (teorically by mmr) are in one team and the other in team b, and face 100 times in a 100-0 result?
that is the way to say all 5 in team a are better then the player in team b?is like having 10 bags put the 5 that I think that weight more on one side and the other on the other side of two pan balance.
than you see that is true, they weight more, and you go on with the same 100 times.(more or less like mm actually works)
and finally you say every single bag in top five weight more that every one in second side. and… you are right is exactly what you have stated starting this experiment!
Please try to read my posts at least. Literally the same thing as above, if all players start on equal grounds it’s inevitable that the better ones with beat the worse ones. What we had last season was a parody – players with high mmr had to face pro league players in AMBER to advance while players with low mmr had a way easier time since the beginning.
So you have people that are quitting because they can’t rise up and rank
And that is the system’s fault.. how?
then you have people with 30 minute queue times in Ruby and up
I’m having 5 minute queues in Diamond so I don’t know where you’re getting this false info.
The only solution about the “waiting” part I can come up with is placing legendary players from the previous season in Sapphire instead of Amber at the start of the next one. That will speed up the players distribution across the ladder.

Stop posting any time, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Last season was terrible, because the system was prioritizing MMR and not divisions/tiers which led to people being all over the place. Legendary div players facing ambers, decent players having a way harder time to climb, while bad players abused their way to the top. The current system needs a bit of time, but in a couple of weeks every division and tier should have it’s own “playerbase” so to speak. You’re not entitled to climb/get carried to division 6, you play on the level where you belong. Literally every MMR argument I’ve read so far is beyond flawed. A really obvious example I can give you is Leeto, he’s Diamond on a free to play account which by theory shouldn’t have over the top MMR. You increase your MMR by beating worse opponents, if you can’t beat bad players then don’t expect to get matched with good ones to carry you.
It’s on the table. ™
Might be a problem on NA? I’ve never waited longed than 5 minutes on EU. (t4 ruby)
You realize that you can block all the bad players to get matched only with decent ones? It’s abusable.
I totally agree with what you said, but the paradox is that your content underlies the opposite of the thread title. Your improvement suggestion allready states why the current league system is NOT very well designed. The main problem is that a lot of people allready stoped playing pvp, remember day 1 insta getting matched? Now it allready takes longer, because the player pool was decimated. The main purpose of the system to make game finding faster, has completly failed, because it was very poorly conceived.
PvE players got rekt day 1 and stopped playing with no way of abusing the system by queueing with better players? Call me surprised.
This whole thread will consist of bad players complaining and decent players being happy as every other. Casuals expect to be carried to legend on a red carpet, no exceptions.
Please fire the MMR Programmers & back S1 MMR.
ITT: Please allow me to get carried by queueing with legends again because I have a hard time winning actual matches this season.
…
Finally, a post that’s completely accurate.
Easier than last season for soloQers, because people can’t play the system anymore. (eg. legends queueing with ambers and facing sapphires)
Agree that this season is what season 1 should’ve been. Bad players are not entitled to higher ranks, so it’s inevitable that blowouts WILL happen at the start. After a few weeks when the better players climb the ladder, everyone will start facing more evenly skilled opponents. (eg. players that are still struggling in emerald)
Haha wrong. When every good player has climbed, guess what. Every other bad player will fight other bad players in emerald and raise in divisions anyway. Nice try tho!
Yes and that disproves my point, how? You can expect more even matches when a good part of the playerbase finds their proper division placement.

Of course the blind mob thinks revenant is too strong now that it was the only class being stacked in the finals, when the truth is that it’s the only class being able to somewhat survive the powercreep damage. (especially reaper)
If they nerf even that we’ll be stuck with all reaper matches with a single scrapper/druid/ele thrown in there for support.
It’s simple. They buffed necro at what it excels at – boon stripping, making it unmatched (partially broken) in that aspect instead of buffing it’s weaknesses. (eg. mobility)
I would argue that all classes should have built in weaknesses. Nullifying necro’s weaknesses would actually be a significantly larger buff compared to the handful of minor buffs the patch brought.
I meant certain QoL changes, not literally remove the weakness of a certain class. And I wouldn’t call the necro buffs minor, really. The added boonstrip might seem small, but combined with what it already had before it is a bit too much.
By that logic, let’s also ban certain builds because they’re too strong. While we’re at it, let’s just decide exactly what every team and player should play so it can appear balanced on the esport screen.

…and everytime the other team has stacked op classes it sucks.
And you wouldn’t face that problem if those classes/builds got properly balanced in the first place. Why are people not stacking p/p thief? Or longbow ranger? In before “OP specs are inevitable”! There were times before HoT and before the D/D meta where every class was viable and stacking wasn’t even needed. Seems like people forget easily.
This isn’t some moba game with a billion classes though. If it’s too hard to balance 9 professions, then creating such rules is pure lazyness. And that pretty much describes the parody of a balance patch we got last month. Completely unneeded buffs to necro, thief etc. (at least not in those areas)
Why would anyone with their right mind take that website for granted? It’s literally written by like 5 people, all the “meta” builds there are pure nonsense most of the time and they add the real good builds very late.
Terrible “redesign” of the fight. You can pretty much do the good old 11111111111 spam on the boss and kill him, you can literally skip ALL of the new mechanics making the achievements a chore. On Tequatl you’re forced to cooperate otherwise you wont be getting any loot, Shatterer is the same old mindless zergfest. A bit disappointed since I wasn’t excepting it to be that bad.
Found this earlier. Don’t think it was possible to get to before gliders
Yes it was. You could get there with multiple classes that have leap skills.
Is the game more fast paced and dynamic then last meta? Yes.
Does it revolve around 3 classes again? Absolutely.
A-Net’s solution to the bunker meta was “the comp with more damage wins” while leaving zero counterplay to said damage. (eg. Reapers, Thieves)
Already been a week and no mail yet.
EDIT: Just got it.

You have to be a famous gw2 streamer to get immediate attention from A-net. See that stupid inventory compact button placement that got priority over all the broken stuff in-game due to a streamer missclicking it and whining about it.
Most of the “legends” (including me) don’t have the title due to getting div6 before the achievement fix.
This thread is so full of people that have no idea how the game works, it’s mindblowing.
“The title should cater to my needs!”
Get a grip and stay on topic.
Completely disagree with OP. An even start is necessary for a fair ranking. People with ultra low MMR shouldn’t have a way easier time climbing then people at top mmr competing against the best from the get go.
So I bought GW2 at launch and played it for like 2 days before putting it down. To be honest, the only reason why I put the game down was because I was already running a guild in SW:TOR and was fairly committed to that game. However, I recently picked GW2 back up after bouncing back and fourth from WoW and SW:TOR. I have to commend the dev team over hear at areananet. I am absolutely loving this game, I play strictly PVP and have been a pvp player in ever mmo that I have played.
The thing that bugs me is today’s generation of spoiled MMO gamers. Coming from a pvp perspective, GW2 offers gamers one of the best PvP experiences you can get in an MMO. Yet, when I come to the forums for tips and whatnot, all i see is moaning and complaining. And most of the complaints are not even valid.
I understand that the forums if a place where people come to give suggestions and ideas about how to make the game better. But, the truth here is that every time
I come to the forums I feel like I’m wasting my time playing some trash mmo. At least that is how GW2 forum community makes it seem. Thats the end of my little rant, I just wish people would be a little more accepting of the game that the developers have created, BECAUSE IT IS AWESOME!
So you played GW2 for two days at launch and feel like complaining about it’s community? Topkek m8.
And no the prestige gimmick is not a reason. Rewards are objectively non-existant. This leads to worse players getting an easier time to legend later in the season because some of the decent ones got there early, achieved their goal and stopped playing. It’s understandable that the competition slows down with time, but the things I’ve been observing are just ridiculous.
Disagree. There are rare times when I’ve faced “not so good” premades which I’ve won and times when I’ve faced esl teams. Voicecom is always an advantage, period.
Rank 26 mesmer with probably the weirdest build ever that has no idea how anything in pvp works complaining about a gimmick build on currently the worst pvp class. 2/10
If you simply asked for an explanation as a new player, I’m sure everyone would’ve been glad to help but come on now. You’d get destroyed by any build and class at your current level. Would you make a new thread for every time you get bopped?
Instead of adding more grind to the already grindy system, make harder wins more rewarding and blowouts by equally skilled/worse opponents more punishing. This will keep players on edge. Also skilled players should have an easier time climbing compared to low mmr people. Beating an ESL team shouldn’t earn me 1 pip when someone with way lower mmr beats a random team for the same 1 pip reward. That means that mmr should be more tightly connected to the tier/division system. Players on let’s say tier 4 diamond should all have very close mmr in well working system, but that will probably never happen.
Mercenary will be the new Celestial tbh.
Requesting some clarification from the devs. Was Grouch lying in the other thread? This will be incredibly stupid if so even if it is a misunderstanding. A lot of us spent a big chunk of time trying to get the title and now we get the middle finger because someone changed his mind. What the kitten?
You don’t know, because you don’t know the MMR of the players involved.
Placing a soloq legendary division play together with a soloq amber player is completely impossible in the algorithm that’s used in season 1 regardless of everyone’s mmr. As someone above me said, we’re discussing a different problem that’s only present since today.
Newsflash…they have already acknowledged this to be a problem. Other than that, HERE IS THE ATTENTION YOU CRAVE.
Have they? This is not a premade, it’s SOLO amber/emerald players getting matched against double legend/diamond trio. Seems to be they messed with the code today again.
