I am looking at the predicted matches next week:
http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA
Assuming this prediction holds up, next weekend (Friday-Sunday) would be crucial for many of the servers out there. I will talk from T4 to T1.
-T4: Dragonbrand/Kaineng/Yak’s Bend
It would be expected that Kaineng would win this tier. However the big question is by how much. For the first time in their climb, Kaineng would be facing a server (Dragonbrand) that can actually hold their own. If Kaineng wins by blow outs again (500 to 100) then Kaineng is surely T1/T2 bound. However if Kaineng only wins marginally (400 to 200) then their climb wouldn’t be as easy as many expected.
Dragonbrand would of course try not to get blow out by Kaineng this close to Jan 28th. A blow out here could mean mass transfers.
-T3 Maguuma/Fort Aspenwood/Crystal Desert
Both FA and Mag are, on theory, T1 capable servers. This weekend they will go head to head against each other to prove themselves.
Both servers has a lot at stake here, and specially for Mag. Mag has a lot of recently transferred guilds with questionable loyalty. A major defeat this weekend could lead to mass transfers.
FA on theory is the stronger server. And they would try to prove that they are.
CD would of course try to keep the score close.
-T2: Sanctum of Rall/Stormbluff Isle/Tarnished Coast
SoR would be the clear winner here. So the focus here are the other two servers.
TC has proven themselves capable of being T2/T3. They would continue to keep the scores tight to attract new guilds over.
SBI has been hit very hard from the transfer issue. Desperate this they are still constantly getting above 100 points against SoR and TC. To attract new guilds to join them before Jan 28th, they would need to fight as hard as they can to keep the score above 150.
-T1: Sea of Sorrows/Jade Quarry/Blackgate
All eyes would be on BG for this week and the next weekend. They are very close to being overtaken by SoR in T1. So this would be the final chance they got to prove themselves before Jan 28th.

How duplicitous can you possibly be?? You’ve recently made several posts suggesting ways for ANet to fix the game breaking effects of server population imbalances, and below is an exact quote from a post you made just a few days ago. What’s even more incredible is you telling us to just suck it up and learn how to survive against insurmountable numbers after you just admitted that you can’t learn to play without them. We’re even talking about the same guild!!
Look I really wasn’t trying to be mean or offend anyone here. But lets take a look at the facts.
The server population imbalance is indeed a huge problem. I still hold true to this opinion. However did I ever go around trash talking SoR? Nope. Because it isn’t SoR’s fault that people are leaving SBI. SoR didn’t steal our guilds away with tricks. SBI simply collapsed.
In a similar manner, it isn’t Kaineng’s fault that strong guilds like WM joined them.
And then people started blaming their losses and everything on the Kaineng bigger zergs. They even claimed that Kaineng sucks and they only win because they got bigger zergs. Ok let’s be fair Kaineng does have bigger zergs than you guys. And so no I don’t expect you two servers (EB and DR) has a chance against Kaineng. But when both of you two servers combined for LESS THAN 50 points, and you blame everything on Kaineng, it just aren’t justified.
I will go back to my SBI example. They lost all the major wvw guilds. Nearly everyone moved on. Yet even then SBI still has 100 points by themselves vs SoR, the strongest T2 team around. Are you saying that BOTH of you two server combined is not even HALF as good as the broken SBI is?
Come on guys. If you want to improve, you got to admit defeat and try to improve from it. Like I said I don’t expect you two servers to beat Kaineng. But you know very well that you two servers could have done better.
If you say “Nope, we couldn’t have done better”, then I feel sorry for you guys. That’s your self defeatist talking and that won’t help your server at all.
So population imbalance is indeed a huge problem. You guys can talk about that all you want. But trash talking a server because of server population (which aren’t even their fault) isn’t needed and I cannot respect that.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
After yesterday’s fights, there were 4 Kaineng guilds that stood out that most.
1.) RE Guild – Definitely the most visible guild the entire day, very respectable tactics and gameplay by its members. Its because of these guys that most of Devona’s BL is Blue.
2.) SOS Guild – Although not as visible and strong as RE, Defended that main keeps while DR took it back. They made sure we earned those towers, garri back.
3.) Korean Guilds – failsafe, ppl are asleep when these guys show up. So yeah, we are screwed.
4.) WM guild – AkA the “Centipede Zerg”, its like 40+ ppl moving fluidly like a centipede, u try to get close to it, u die. They pretty much destroyed everything Devona’s had. Using Culling and AoEHitsonly5ppl to thier advantage, these guys top my list of the most elite guild i faced, with EA (Elephant Ambush) from Dragonbrand in 2nd place. They even suprised us at our northern supply camp (where we were waiting for them with 10 ballistas and 30+ ppl) by bringing thier zerg inside our citadel and coming out from our own door. Did not know u could do that. Legendary Defenders not doing thier jobs :P.
Let me just say that Centipede Zerg is normal in upper tiers, to abuse the culling bug. Also reduce AoE damage, since those are limited to 5 targets.
I am not even from this tier, but I find it sad that many of you decided to trash talk Kaineng instead of self improvement. Number is not everything in wvw.
Look at tier 2. SoR is the major player in that tier with all those transfers. Yet TC is still constantly getting 200 points. SBI, even after all their major wvw guilds left, and fighting outmanned 24/7, is still constantly getting 100 points.
Now look at tier 3. FA is another T1 material server that has so much more manpower it aren’t funny. Yet CD and DB are still holding their own.
No matter how strong you think Kaineng is, it isn’t indestructible. There are no reason that BOTH of your servers combined for less than 50 points. SBI by itself, at the worst possible moment, is still getting 100 points against the tier 1 bound SoR. And you two servers combined for less than 50 points. Explain to me how this is no fault of yours?
I am not trying to be hash. But when you only blame others you would never improve.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
It would be cool if the team starting the break out can reset the break out at any time.
I had been thinking about the recent problem of guilds transferring. I think all of these could have been prevented if they had a season schedule for WvW. That way teams would fight both strong and weak teams on a regular basis.
I am talking about a NBA, NFL kind of season.
The servers would be able to see their season ranking. So yes there would still be winners and losers. However no server is stuck with another server forever. They would constantly fight against different servers.
Thoughts?
I still do not understand why there are so many bandwagon jumper guilds. If a guild wants to transfer, that is fine. Why would they transfer to a higher ranked server though? The only difference between higher ranked servers and lower ranked ones are coverage. Why go someplace where they will need to deal with longer queues?
Because TIER ONE TOP RANKING SERVER
Honestly though, I don’t get it either. You don’t even win anything for winning WvW. People should sensibly be moving to ensure that each tier (and the adjacent ones) are as competitive as possible, to ensure long-term enjoyment of WvW. That’s basically the exact opposite of what’s happening though, so whatever.
It is just not the same. There are less commanders and less people willing to build siege.
Zzzz i’m done arguing with you since it is absolutely pointless. I have sleep to catch up on!
Not sure why you started arguing with me in the first place. I was just informing people of the queue situation.
Actually, I think I see where the argument comes from. As I read through your posts, I am struck by the fact you mention SoR being the ones killing you. So are you posting things about our server as if you are a member just to cause people to not wish to join us? Are you bothered by the fact that SoR is expanding its population after many weeks of being the under dog? I am sorry that you feel you must bad mouth another server. I admit we have a que. But never has there been a que on ALL maps at the same time. I have always been able to get into another map. Last night was an exeption. Reset night was very busy, and quite a fun time. I enjoyed meeting new people and seeing the Militia run as a group, and even do crap jobs like escort Yaks.
I toast a week of entertainment, epic battles, and yaks.
I would guess that dude is from SoS and JQ. They are known to do absolutely anything to win and get an upper hand. Cheating and exploitation is common, including spies and sending someone to your TS server to trash talk you. SBI has seen all of these first hand. Morality and ethics doesn’t apply to SoS and JQ at all.
All the more reason why I want to see them beat.
@Indo
Yeah I’m happy you guys will be able to move on to T1 glory. It’s great for you.
The one difference though is BG wasn’t nearly as strong outside of Oceanic. With the combination of planned and bandwagon Xfers SoR is “all Zerg all the time” at the moment and that just really isn’t any fun at all to fight against.
I found great respect for and enjoyed fighting against Choo, FEAR, TW, and true hardcore WvW Guilds we went up against the past few weeks. I’m just really bummed it didn’t last.
For your info, SoS and JQ are “all zerg, all the time” also. That’s kind of a requirement to succeed in T1 WvW. I was there and I faced that every night for 2 months.
Welcome to the new Tier 2! Despite the greater BS going on on all fronts, I’m still having fun on SoRBL, good fights. Here’s your update:
Its good to hear. With the tier imbalance at the moment, might aswell just play to have fun
What imbalance? You mean all the people jumping to SoR? You mean you previously couldn’t field large zergs on 2 maps in dual pronged assaults last week?
Let’s stay classy. It is not their fault for fielding large zergs…
When there are 90% objection, perhaps they should reconsider?
Sorry you are having internal troubles but free transfers are killing WvW and need to end as wannabe-winners are hopping from one server to the next.
This probably won’t help you but at least you are finding out who is worth sticking with and who isn’t.
Free transfers are not killing WvW. The guilds that are exploiting it are killing WvW. The saddest part is that paid transfers are not going to fix the problem. From what i understand it will cost $5 – $7 to transfer servers. $28 at most per month for these guilds to continue transferring servers each week. Anet has chosen to profit from the problem instead of fixing it. Sure their PR is that once paid transfers go in it will stop this type of behavior / guilds transferring to lower tiers. The reality is that it will do nothing more then line their pockets and they know it… It’s intentional.
ANet does not have some sort of diabolical software that brainwashes people to do what they want.
People need to stop blaming the game company and blame the players that do these actions. Just because it’s easier to blame an anonymous company for the actions of your friends that doesn’t’ mean the blame is justified or fair. Free transfer’s have to stop. Otherwise most servers will have little community especially in something like WvW.
I’m sorry the OP has encountered problems but as someone mentioned things flow and ebb in life, you lose track with some friends and you gain new ones. If you really want to make soemthing work usually some sort of compromise is made, thus with almost everything we do as people.
Best of luck, but again, ANet is not to blame for the actions of their player base.
For our guild, the worst part is the inability to guest between NA and EU. Many of us were hoping for that to happen since day 1. Some guildmate said that this was actually “promised” to us before release. I didn’t read the said article so I cannot confirm. Either way many of us are very disappointed. We have no one else to blame but Anet.
As for the server, SBI is bounded to drop a tier or two further. In the past, on Friday nights at least, we would have enough showing for a decent fight. That didn’t happen tonight.
This I won’t blame Anet. I agree that the server transfer cost had to be put in place eventually. It just happened to be announced at the WORST week for us as possible, on the same week that we dropped to tier 2. As a result we lost the absolute maximum, as many guilds and wvw population as possible. I would say that a good 80% of our commanders has moved on elsewhere in the past 3 days. I don’t believe in conspiracy. It is just some rotten luck after rotten luck that our server faces.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
Also I’m kind of curious what this means to melee classes. Their basic attacks are AoEs. They hit multiple targets. It would be seriously wrong if necros, elementalists and others received a nerf even to our staff basic attacks (which are AoE too) while melee classes could still keep those.
I don’t recall any of the necro axe, dagger or sceptre basic attacks hitting multiple foes. Not so with melee classes where the attacks are actually AoEs. It would be somewhat ironic if the best single target professions would also become the best AoE professions – well arguably they are already.
When Anet says “AoE” I keep hearing “ranged targetted AoE only”
Your assumption is well placed. The whole AoE nerf idea started when Anet saw a 1vs2, where the two guys end up losing to the 1. That 1 person then use AoE skills to finish the 2 off without stomping them. This gives neither people a chance to rally and so AoE is OPed…. >_>
wait lemme get this straight
youre unhappy on SBI but you want the EU 1/2 of the guild to hop servers and come to you where either 1) youre unhappy or 2) you dont know if youll be happy
why arent YOU hopping to their EU server? problem solved. its not like there are ip blocks.
Our guild has way more NA than EU players. However our alliance (from GW1) had more EU than NA players. Our guild won’t be moving over to EU.
My guildmates are discussing if we should go into mercenaries and piracy because wvw doesn’t’ pay us enough.
yay for people hating on a server finally getting some recruitment after being in 5th place for…3-4months straight now? gg guys
Weve been trying to get a strong community and more strong guilds to be a part of the community and actually stay with us forever…it’s finally paying off…just because you haven’t gotten that doesn’t mean you need to hate.
Nobody from TC is hating on SoR for getting transfers, please read posts again. That’s just not our style. Some of us are bemused, however. SBI has been downright classy about this, in my opinion. They haven’t shown their aggravation much, if at all.
I suggest expanding your sentiment detector beyond just love or hate. Neither SBI nor TC have flamed SoR for this. If you think we’re ‘hating’, I have to wonder what you would call a server in T1 DDOSing another server’s voice comm server or sending their commanders/leaders hate messages and boasting about it.
Well JQ and SoS has always been specially classy.
Interesting news coming for tonights matchup.
Same arch enemies (we know who they are^^), bigger and stronger allies. Good thinking.
I am on the fence for this one. Really on the fence. To avoid conflicts and preserve friendships, we are allowing our players to join whatever server they want. So our one guild is going to split up into 3 NA servers. Pretty crazy but its happening. Fighting against each other in wvw is in a way better than arguing over which server to stay or join. :P
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
Im sorry to hear the effect this has had on SBI, being a SoR player i have noticed how bleak it seems to have become for SBI.
The main issue is people in guilds are realising that the next transfer will be there last free transfer period, and those guilds who has lightly considered moving before are jumping ship now before there locked.
Its the snowball effect, but on a server-wide scale, once one go the server WvW weakens and more go because of it. Your best bet would to be either ride out the fall in tiers for SBI until it evens out again, or move to your ‘final’ so to speak, server.
Alot of guilds from multiple servers and thousands of players have joined SoR because they want a shot in Tier 1 without joining T1 guilds and they see SoR as the one to provide that excitement.
The thing is I understand perfectly well why people are leaving. Hardcore wvwers like them and me wants to play alongside the best and fight against the best. Being in T4 or T5 isn’t enough to fill that thirst. If being T4 or T5 is the end goal of our server, why are we even wvwing in the first place?
So the only thing holding me in SBI are the memories, “loyality” and friends. However as I stated, both our server and guild is being ripped apart anyways. So this doesn’t hold true anymore.
This is just a very sad and difficult time for us hard core wvwers right now.
Now I would talk about our server.
1) Server PvE
Our server is extremely PvE focused. So much so that most wvwers here are fair-weather players. When SBI was at its prime, it was able to gather many casual pvpers to join our cause. But now that SBI is going down hill (had been for the past 2 months), all of those casual pvpers disappeared. No one like to die over and over again and loss money. Only the hardcore pvpers would choose to endure it, and so only us the hardcore remained.
2) Server PvP and WvW
Every night, SBI is getting overrun by zerg after zerg. In the first few days at tier 2, SBI would only lose their EB keep once a day at around 2:30 am PST. But for the past few days (after server transfer announcement), SBI now losses its EB keep 4 or 5 times a day. And this is happening even during NA prine time, a time slot where SBI used to be very strong at. And our ever shrinking numbers is a direct linking reason to that.
Ever since WM left SBI, many of us had to play extra amounts to fill those holes. But let’s get real its very tiring and expensive. And all the effort with nothing to show for it is extremely demoralizing.
Night after night SoR (nothing against you guys^^) would show up with their 60 men zerg and overrun everything. And the 20-30 of us have no chance. Even inside the walls we cannot shoot at our enemy below because our OWN walls blocks our shot (LOL!). When we jump to the edge of the wall to attack we get pulled down in a second (its so obvious you got to jump up to the edge).
So we put in the time, the thinking and the money into our wve efforts. All of these leads to nothing. Its a bottomless pit with no return. And so when the server transfer announcement was made, everything, and I do mean everything, collapses in SBI.
The question of many guilds is not whatever they should transfer out of SBI or not. The only question is where to. And I don’t blame them. Who want to suffer though this kind of torture night after night? Many of the people that I used to fight with are leaving. So yup our server is ripping apart.
3 weeks ago if you ask me, I wouldn’t ever considering leaving SBI. But today, everything combined really got me thinking. I mean I do play this game for fun. This game isn’t my life. So why stay in a depressing and stressful server?
This is a very sad time for me, my guild and my server. Very very sad times.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
I am filled with sadness as I am typing this. The announcement of non-free server transfer is ripping both my guild and server apart. I have lots of thoughts about this, and both for PvE and WvW, but I will try to keep this brief.
Let’s talk about my guild first.
1) Guild PVE
My guild is a primary PvE guild that started way back on GW1. We had both NA players and EU players because back in GW1 you could play with each other no problem. In GW2 we are forced to separate, in SBI for NA and AG for EU. We had waited for 4 months for guesting to work, so we can play with each other again.
And then we heard the announcement of guesting, only that NA and EU players still cannot played with each other. So the only thing linking us after this is the chat, and that aren’t close to being good enough.
I was shocked, so are many of my guildmates. Now we are in a debate on “forcing” everyone to join our NA server of SBI. Some arguments got pretty heated. I can see things from both sides. How can we call ourselves one guild and one alliance when half of us cannot play with the other half? How can EU players playing in EU time find people to play with in a NA server, and how is that fair?
And what’s more worrisome is that we started using terms like “us” and “them”. This is very unhealthy for a guild. It should ONLY be us.
Some of us (including me) even offered to donate gold for gems to our EU players for a 2 month trial period in NA (server transfers in the future would cost gems). However as a guild we cannot agreed to that since we have no idea how much gold would be required, and not all of us have spare change. So that idea was scraped. In other words, we have no way of keep our GW1 guild together. We had been together for 7 years in GW1, but not we are being forced to rip apart.
2) Guild PvP and WvW
There are around 10 of us that are die hard pvp and wvw people, including me. Another 10 are casual wvwers. As many of you know, SBI is not doing well at all in wvw. Many major guilds are either leaving or seriously considering leaving. And so many of our pvpers are also considering leaving. They argued that since there will be guesting (for NA at least), it won’t matter what server our account is at. They can still “tactically” play together for PvE.
The problem is this isn’t an unanimous decision. Some of us want to stay with SBI because we had fought for it for so long. Some want to join JQ or SoS because they are in T1 (some of us already did, without discussing with the guild). Others wants to move, but not JQ or SoS because we at SBI had fought against them for so long.
So as you can imagine there are some pretty heating arguments going on right now about this. Soon we would be brothers fighting against brothers on multiple different servers. 7 years of friendship leads to this. Our guild cannot be more ripped apart than this.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
People actually have issues killing others in WvW? O.O
I have never had any issues in any situation, be it 1v2, 1v3, Group vs Group, Zerg vs Zerg.
But then again, I’m a Thief, so maybe other professions havn’t found out how to effectively kill the other players yet? I’ll give some friendly advice, instead of wasting itme to stomp someone, just burn them down. While in the downed state, they take more damage than they would if they were up, and if anyone is trying to rez them, they become free kills to you as well.
Happy hunting.
And of course thieves got no problem with the AoE nerf. ^^
I was under the impression zergs (or people in them) used Area Of Effect skills as their primary way of fighting since they can hit more people at once.
Wouldn’t nerfing AOE also nerf zergs since they are less productive with AOE? And since they are more productive through close ranged fighting wouldn’t it help small scale fighting?
Understood it is less skill based (If standing on top of a ramp and spamming AOE skills is really considered skill, and I personally do not think it is) since a smaller number can pigeon-hole a larger number and scare them not to advance (through red circles of substantial damage from an “organized” group of stacked elementalist). Can anyone explain to me (quote me please so its easier to find) how lowering the damage of AOE actually makes Zergs stronger? (Serious question, i’m only looking at it from one side and id really like to see the other side of it.)
Let’s say the 10 of you are holding back a zerg of 30 at a choke point. In the past you can AoE that choke point to prevent the zerg from getting though. With AoE nerfed, now there is no chance that your team can hold that zerg back.
So like many others had said, the bigger zerg is now stronger the ever. The smaller zerg is now useless. There is no tactical advantage or creative thinking that can save you. As long as the enemy has more people there is absolutely nothing you can do. Notice that this is ALREADY sort of true in wvw. With the AoE nerf it would become the absolute truth.
SBI, did you guys lose some people, or is it just inactivity this week?
I’m asking seriously, as you were neck and neck with us just yesterday and poised to overtake TC.
Let me just say that the server transfer announcement couldn’t come at a worst time for us.
AoE nerf would benefit large zergs. Side benefits include stealth thieves and clone mesmers. It really blows my mind how Anet concluded that “bigger zergs” needs more help, and already overpowered classes like thieves and mesmers needs more help.
I had been saying for ages that Anet need to sent game testers to “losing” wvw servers. They got to go see their suffering and frustration, and make the game fun for these losing servers too. As it is, more and more people will quit wvw b/c it aren’t fun at all for their server, not to mention all those monetary losses. Do not see things just from top teams like SoS or JQ’s point of view b/c that’s not the norm that the average servers are facing.
Same thing for underpowered classes. How about spent a day as an engineer, necromancer and ranger in wvw and see how that feel?
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
Come join SBI. A major guild left us recently. But we are all very strong fighters that fight outmanned all day long. If you can boost our numbers we would do much better. ^^
I swear the devs must all play thieves, THIS IS ANOTHER HUGE BUFF FOR THEM again.
This will be interesting. Now its even harder to AoE guess where the thief is at.
Marks already have the smallest AoE circle in the game at 120 range. How much more can they nerf it? Sure you can trait it to be 240, but that’s beside the point.
Wells has super long recharge.
Epidemic has 5 target limit.
How much more can they nerf these?
By % it is even weaker than Vampiric Gaze in GW1, both for healing and for offense. And Vampiric Gaze was considered a very bad skill in GW1.
I want Dark Pact and Dark Aura. Also Enfeeble.
Now when you start stomping/ressing, and you enter shroud, your stomping/ressing ends right away.
Where is this ‘tons of money’ you speak of?
Check prices on golems, trebs, etc. It would be ok if your server is winning. But if not, all that money goes down the drain.
And that’s on top of dying many many times in “unfair” 20vs40+ fights. Not to mention those “suicidal” rushes into the control circle of the keep to delay a takeover.
Of course your probably don’t see any of these, and have no idea what I am talking about, since you are from a winning server.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
Anyone else have an opinion on this? This issue clearly affects a lot of people. Our team chat every night is filled with negativity. T_T
Anyone else has an opinion on this?
I got 2 suggestions:
1) Players should be able to drop supplies manually, anywhere they want.
Most supply camps in this game are in horrible defensive positions. They are often wide open, easily taken over by a zerg. No one in their right mind would keep supplies there.
Instead supply camps should be treated as farms, logging area and mines. They produce raw materials. Once produced, the raw materials can be moved elsewhere.
So what I suggest is the ability for players to drop supplies anywhere they want. This allows players to move supplies to a more secure location. Once dropped, anyone can pick them up, friends or foes.
For game balance purpose, any supplies that got dropped inside the spawn area would be moved to a spot outside. That means these supplies can be taken by enemies. This prevent massive pile up of supplies.
2) Players that gets killed should drop their supplies there.
Just like real life, when the supply carrier gets killed, he/she would drop her supplies. This supply can be picked up by anyone. The player would be left with zero supplies when he/she re-spawns.
This means players cannot just mindlessly carry supplies around. If they die, their extra supply could be used to help the enemy build that extra golem, and eventually turn the tide of the battle.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
Lets face it the simple fact is that Anet don’t give a hoot about outmanned why would they be concerned out the minority of the game as a whole.
Yes the bigger and better servers have more players 24/7 they are the ones spending the cash and enjoying what they reap from it.
It’s all down to the mighty buck in the end those who pay the most gain the most, it’s the way it is on any MMO that has a cash system.
Get the masses winning for that feelgood attitude that they’re willing to add a little extra to something that they enjoy, while the minority are left to wallow in the cesspit of worthlessness.
Anet have stated that they want “everyone to enjoy the game”, well my simple reply to them is put up or shut up with that saying and change it to “we want most to enjoy the game”
My server used to be pretty good, and back then Anet would bring a game tester in our server once in a while. Now that we started losing, I hasn’t seen an Anet employee in our server for like 2 months.
Sure winning is more fun than losing. But these game testers are there to ensure the game is fun for anyone. They have no reason to enter the winning side at all, because winning is automatically fun. Instead they should have focused more attention on the losing sides and see how to make the game fun for them.
I have seen people building siege at the EB jumping puzzle just to kitten people off. I have also seen people fighting over the jumping puzzle when they are losing towers.
Sight of Pain
Target is blinded for 5 seconds. If target losses the blindness during this time, he takes 5,000 damage.

I was running away from a zerg in wvw. One of my minions got hit or started attacking. I instantly run much slower. Then the enemies (in non-combat running speed) caught up and snared me. The rest is history.
I was fighting a guardian 1v1 in wvw. I started winning and got him to 25% hp with my minions, and he started running. I snared him and bleed him, but he just won’t die due to my low damage. My minions cannot catch up to him, so they can’t hit him. After a minute of chasing he found a group of zerg ally to help him out. Now I started running. I didn’t make it home.
I was defending a wall. Since I cannot cast my marks on enemies below, I had to jump onto the edge. A second later I was pulled down. I was chained, frozen, crippled, knocked down, bleed, poisoned all at once. Didn’t make it back up.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
No don’t bother with necros in wvw.
Well fought SoR. You guys are clearly better than JQ. It is ashame that JQ is teaming up with SoS to stay in tier 1. Else JQ would be knocked off T1 very quickly.
If you SoR guys eventually make it up to T1 (which I am confident you will), don’t get discouraged if you loss. SoS and JQ will always work together, with some in between fighting here and there to pretend they aren’t. They are in the same TS server most of the time.
(edited by CHIPS.6018)
The only problem with Outmanned giving stats is when say there’s a solo roamer/scout running into his enemy server counterpart, should one have a stat advantage over the other because of people from one server being SOMEWHERE on the map while the other has little to none? Some may end up relying on this buff to help them win…say there’s an awesome 5v9 going on with the 5 having this stat buff. The five proceed to turn the battle to their favor after getting 2 of the 9 downed but then POOF somebody on their server joins the map and they lose their stats, and the tide quickly turns.
Current Outmanned giving a magic find boost actually helps badge drop rate, however they may increase the badge drop rate more, or give more and improved badge purchase options. Also I wouldn’t be too surprised if they introduced more that you could buy with Karma in WvW, making the current outmanned seem much more appeasing than its current form to most people if you could purchase ascended gear for Karma/badges but have a much higher drop rate of both with Outmanned. If that wouldn’t get people out there when the odds are against them then they might not be fit for competitive play :P
Alright maybe in a 1v1 situation it won’t be fair. But when you are outmanned so badly you would die a lot more often, no matter your skill level. So how about remove all armor repair costs for the outmanned side? Reduce siege weapon costs? etc.
culling is an issue they are working hard to fix is it not?
as far as group stealth it is hard to make a clear judgment call on whether it is causing balance problems until the culling issue is fixed.
one thing we should never do is get up in arms too quickly about something being “overpowered” when large organized groups are taking advantage of it. those sorts of groups of people are always going to be doing things that break other groups less coordinated than them and we often lose sight of the fact that it is their skill and coordination that is winning and not necessarily any individual overpowered tactic.
as far as zergs “popping up” against other zergs that is just too hard to comment on with the culling issue being what it is. I suggest you see how things look after some sort of culling fix is implemented.
In the meantime you could try running with smaller teams doing smaller group objectives if it is causing you stress.
Its been almost half a year and culling still isn’t fixed. This should be on their priority.
Let’s get real. WvW is very fun and enjoyable for the winners. Take over the whole map. Kill a bunch of enemies. Get a bunch of badges. Gets tons of money. Fun fun fun.
But wvw is not fun the losers and outmanned at all. Lose the whole map. Died a bunch of times. Gets zero badges. Lose tons of money. Mad mad mad.
My server has been on both sides of the coin. Let me tell you is a night and day difference. WvW is simply a torture if your server is losing. You put in so much effort only to lose everything.
There are many other things, like siege weapons disappearing if you don’t use it once every 30 minutes. If your side is already winning and have spare men, then sure it is “easy” to man those weapons. But if your side is already losing and outmanned, every one of your guys are fighting and have no time to watch the siege weapons. So all this does is make life every harder for the losing outmanned side.
Another thing was the walls blocking the aim of the defenders. For a defender to hit his foes below, he would need to jump onto the edge of the wall. That makes him very easy target for pulling. So the wall offers very little protection for the defenders. The aim blocking should be for the attacks only. The defenders on the wall should be able to hit people below.
Anet really got to change things up to help the losing and outmanned side. Maybe give them a physical stat boost for being outmanned. It just seems Anet spent most of their game testing time on a winning team. They have very little idea of how bad things are for the players of the losing side.

Anet please fix culling asap. This is clearly game breaking. I will explain.
Yesterday’s wvw we faced a zerg with 6+ thieves or mesmers, who would take turn stealthing their whole zerg. They would retreat, rally to their commander(s), and a thief or mesmer would stealth their whole team. Then the whole stealthed zerg comes back and attacks right next to us. Due to culling they must have stealthed a total of 10 seconds. Needless to say many of our team are dead before the culling even ended. And since they got 6+ guys with group stealth, they did it over and over again.
We all read all those complains about permanent stealth thieves. Now imagine a whole zerg doing that, again and again. You just see a ton of damage poping up against your WHOLE zerg, and like half of you are dead before you even see your enemies.
I was so temped to roll a thief or mesmer yesterday it aren’t funny. This is the first time we see this happening. But I imagine this kind of “tactic” would be the new standard in the near future. Every single zerg vs zerg would be ghost vs ghost. No one can see each other. And if you are not a ghost, you got no chance.
Anet please fix this asap thanks. The whole wvw could be ruined by this bug.

What I find most frustrating is that a stack of 25 bleeds can be removed just as easily as one. Perhaps condition removal should remove a set number of individual conditions? That way passive removals could be configured to remove fewer than active ones making big condition stacks and active condition removal more relevant.
No kidding. In the past you can stack Empathy+Backfire+other hexes and they are hard to remove. Now all these can be removed by someone passively, like entering stealth.
Black Death
For 5 seconds, whenever target gets healed he takes that as damage instead. And when target’s conditions gets removed, those conditions lasts twice as long as before instead.

Everyone run away from me as soon as things turn sour for them. I think in the past 2 months I only “actually killed” 1 or 2 guys.
Once I was protecting yaks when 2 thieves arrived. I downed on of them (not killed) before I died.
The problem with Tengu is that they are still a land based race. If Anet is going the bird route, I would really love a race that can actually fly. It would be more like hovering of course. But it would still be cool.
Same reason why I love a 4 legged race.
