According to this Thieves will always be revealed when coming out of stealth. Been gone for a while but has this taken effect yet?

I would like to add that clones also do not get the mesmers title.

Yeah I agree, the only talking going on is usually “Thank you” when I revive someone, or ill say it to them if they revive me. Chatting in WvW is also frowned upon because some people feel the chat can be used for things that are more productive. I would love to have a friends chat.
Considering how Warrior is UP in PvP I wouldn’t mind some PvP love in return for some PvE hate.

You don’t need stealth to stay alive. I could beat a warrior with ease without stealth at any day. Just pick a D/D condi spec and time your evasive moves right. Theres nothing the warrior can do about it.

So for those of us with no Agony Resistance at all would you recommend doing FotM 10-12 over and over till a ring drops? I’ve ran 12 a couple of times already with no luck so i’d like to know what you guys recommend
AoE is not a problem, havoc. If you don’t know how to play, don’t write. Some AoE does more than a single opponent skills, it is fair enough. Lower damage skills have some other bonuses mostly to compensate for lower damage, if you don’t use them properly, your fault. A field is a field, almost always you can go out of that area, if you are not thinking to move, it is again your fault. AoE damage meant to deal a bit lower damage than single target skills but across an area, and many of them for some reason limited for number of players, and such are not “real area of effect”. I’ve seen that a lot when an AoE based skill doesn’t affect the whole area (sometimes for some reason opponents fields or skills wouldn’t damage me either).
Also, if you are not moving away, it is your problem, the game is not played by the model of : “Hack,slash,buckle buckle”. Unlike other games, here you need to think a bit more, and by the way the devs nerf the game, we will not have to plan or think about anything soon. Planning of the actions and how to utilize my skills to make the most of them, was one of the best things in game.
For example, plant a field against 1 player, us that field to increase the output damage or increasing defense or just healing, and continue spamming SINGLE -TARGET SKILLS on the opponent. 1) if you are not moving away from the field, your fault. Some AoE skills do damage but they have other effects as well, using them for the effect only against single enemy, not because of damage (but +10 damage is already something, so why not use it?)
Also, havoc, if you are standing in field, and one player attacks while other supports the opponent – it is called co-operation. And such thing should be prized, because it is rare in our days, and it makes people like you cry, which in turn makes me happy. That somebody got kitten. also most of the time players are buffed, geared diffidently and some even make their build to output as much damage as possible while sacrificing defense, health and such. Aoe is not a problem. Devs should play more with the players and not with themselves (that’s what makes it so funny, get it?) in the studio.This is exactly what I expected. Scream L2P in rediculous defense of your abuse of an OP tactic. If you knew how to play, you wouldn’t need this crutch, so right back at you.
I completely agree with this, AoE is a crutch that requires no skill.
AoE-ing a door just aiming at the floor requires no skill. They don’t have to decide who to targer and how to CC them to keep them from coming it. Attacking the door already does that.
Improve staff eles 1 vs 1 and necro staffs 1 vs 1 so they will be on par with others as well to make up for it.

The disadvantage is it cannot cast very powerful magic from either color, so being proficient in many arts, it is a master of none. They can also use swords, but they are not as good at using it as a fighter.

I have a serious question,
How is a Ranger more of a Jack of all Trades than a Warrior.

Warriors can be awesome healers with their heal shouts!
Yup, I love our 1k heal shouts, our 15-20 second cooldown is much too low for that kinda healing!
For people who don’t know, Heartseeker doesn’t break stealth when it doesnt hit anything. So yeah -> I can put distance from you and break combat mode within 3 seconds of stealth and 1 or 2 shadowsteps plus speed buffs from dodge. Voila! i can wp out. No hacks needed. lol L2p op. Not everything has to be spoonfed to you. Same as any class, know your opponents.
Also, the only thing Thief classes are actually overpowered at… are BAD WvW players.

This patch actually helped out. I’m glad they did it and other like me are probably not posting since complainers post way more than people who are satisfied. All in all, I see zergs much faster and stealth-ed people appear much faster as well.

But honestly they are not going anywhere so I don’t recommend you doing them on your own. Do them when you have a group (even though, since they are the ones camping they have more control. Its definitely terrible design in itself to have pvp in there).
As a thief who has other level 80s, I don’t have a problem with thieves because I always know what they are doing while invis and I look for the auto attack animation change on hit. Thieves are not invincible when invis which is what a lot of people tend to forget.
Conclusion: if you hate thieves, play as one, learn how they think and then you can destroy them.

Disagree, it was definitely a culling issue.
Now thieves are not nearly as menacing.
I used to have to run since they could kill me before I would see them but now I think I can take on (or at least put of a fight with) any thief that isn’t amazing :P

Heightened Focus (12% crit)
I may not do a lot of damage on my crits but with ~88% crit (with food and perma-fury) I get a lot of bleeds on the enemy fast and might on myself fast, without sacrificing any toughness. Not to mention healing with a 66% chance per crit (which is very often) with my Omnomberry Ghost, I think it works out very well. My build is not based on my crit damage, but the benefits I get from my crit

I agree with you, WvW was made for zergs to flourish.
I think too many people expect WvW to be balanced like sPvP which is not the case.
1 on 1 Thieves are supposed to be good, so I don’t recommend attacking them unless your experienced (I don’t do it).
But I would like to add that Rifles “Volley” skill still hits thieves in stealth so try and time it to when they are about to go into stealth so you know where they are going (you can see the bullets flying in the direction he’s in).
“Kill Shot” also follows thieves in stealth so use this when they are around under at least under 50% health. Do not use it if they are in full health or else it won’t do enough damage to kill them in one hit (at least it wont for me in full knights gear).
Its so funny to see them get out of stealth on the floor, I bet they are thinking “what happened?”

1000X better here. The only people coming here are those who are complaining – the rest of us are too busy playing.
This, I think its great, so much better than before. And I run in both zergs and solo, this has improved both.

All of it can be done in WvW, except crafting which is quite easing considering you can mine first then craft with what you got
I just hate having to wait 30 days to get one piece. One amulet and 2 rings, each takes 30 days (1 laurel per day, and I think 10 per monthly) would amount to 70 days? Counting 60 days for 60 laurels plus 20 from the 2 monthlys is 80 plus 10 days is 70, correct me if im wrong, and this is not counting infusions.
And I also think there’s a back piece we cannot get yet, not too sure about this either.
I really hope they make a WvW alternative

24 kills per day, every day, comes out to 434 days to get the title. That does sound more than a little absurd. Especially for the more support-y and controll-y folks who aren’t set up to throw up a blanket of AoE and rake in the kills.
I would have to agree, that title at least seems like it needs some readjustment.

Now about the thread: Does anyone else feel a little cheated that people specc-ing into pure damage get more kill count than us people specc-ing into more support? I would love for there to be titles for people who support and buff the group as opposed to those who just spam away AoEs.
D/D elementalists that know that they are doing give me the most problems.
Condition ranged thieves are next. They always appear somewhere random and looking around for them is annoying. They stack more bleed than I can remove with shouts. I love how Rifle skills follow them even in stealth. Using volley I can track where he goes for a bit. Kill shot (I think) also follows them since I have had a few come out of stealth on the floor.
Mesmers are slow and I can outrun them

No I do not think there is balance but then again I feel like balance is better kept in sPvP :P
Id rather classes have different roles (and can change them depending on how they are specced), but just knowing their strengths helps in countering them
For example know that thieves and d/d eles are king of 1 on 1 so walk around in groups. And that Necros are great at flipping conditions on you so applying conditions on them could lead to your downfall.
I’m gonna save this until I learn them.

I think it has to do with AoEs being so effective against groups.
And since WvW is all groups they benefit the most from AoEs.
Plus if they want to go solo they can swap over to Dagger Dagger and be very effective that way as well.
I do not think that they should nerf eles but instead buff other classes that are not as viable and have them all be able to contribute just as much as an ele does to the WvW setting.

Not sure if you specified if you used it for WvW or for PvE but I would not recomend it for WvW.
There are no (or few) escape abilities with it and few condition removals (just mending if thats what you use and Signet of Stamina on a 45 second cooldown). Plus they are often the first targeted since people know they have to escape abilities.
For PvE it works very well. For dungeons you could use banners or shouts to help the group a bit more, but its definately not required.
So I would say it is not terribad, unless its used in WvW (unless you run with a Rifle then it can work well at long range).

Love how the people opposed to fixing culling are those who main thieves. I for one wont miss those groups of 3-5 thieves roaming in constant stealth.

But can you explain your logic as to why you think having some enemies+some allies load is bad? Small groups can still scout, use stealth when you see an enemy.
Heck id use it if I had it if it meant that randomly appearing zergs couldn’t see me, even with the 12 second limit on it.

Answer: Grind FOTM the week you play Kaineng. You will be completely geared out, have some pocket money and will have avoided being overrun by their “skill”

Uh huh…that’s not exactly comforting:

So just going by those sentences alone, according to the wiki our melee attacks are considered aoe.
At least we now know.
Its much better than not knowing and being shocked at getting nerfed, now we can expect it, or at least not be as surprised.
If your adrenaline is full you can try and land a Kill Shot with the rifle to put you at an advantage (especially if your an Asura, we hardly even kneel when casting it so he wont see it comming!).
Then just rifle spam him to death
