Builds and skill matter much more in WvW than ascended gear.
Boosters are useless (I have tons of them stacked in my bank, there is no need for them)
There is no need for gold since ascended cant be bought with it. Except food, don’t forget to use food in WvW.
IMO people who buy gems don’t have an advantage over others.

I can see why people would choose females, males in this game have worse options for everything. Females have better haircuts, faces, and armor looks better.
I still choose to make a male, but making a cool looking Asura was not an easy feat.
If you are having a bad time in queues go to a different server. This will not go into effect.

I quit half a year ago to try something else. I thought a pay to play game would have much more content and be better overall so I tried FFXIV ARR ever since launch to try it out. It wasn’t what I thought it would be, the armor all looks horrible so even endgame gear looks crappy and for a Halloween event all they did was add one quest. You could even buy the event reward through an npc and not even do it. Since it was a let down i’m coming back to GW2.

A great solution would be to add that a toggle to switch the
Left Button (Hold) Move Camera
with the
Right Button (Hold while moving) Change direction

It appears that when I run with swapped left and right click I dont have any problems, I just can’t get used to clicking with the right click =/

It sounds like to me the team wanted to do a specific strategy, and you refused or didn’t listen.
Either they wanted to skip the first two switches, or they stood on the wooden structure during the boss fight. Either way, if they kicked you on level 3 FoTM, chances are they simply found you obnoxious.
Why are the carebears in this thread calling his group elitist, when they darn well don’t know what happened? You really have to try hard to get kicked from level 3 FoTM.

Its a current exploit where thieves and engineers can go through walls with specific skills. It isn’t really hacking, but just taking advantage of broken maps and thus exploits. I would love confirmation from Anet thakittens either expliot or a"working as intended". Theres a post in the WvW discussions about this so hopefully they now know it exists.

What’s so funny about it is: why does the exploit exist?
Thieves teleport is very special even though multiple classes also have teleports. Unlike the others, their teleports go through clear through objects and terrain, while for example Mesmer teleport will only cross level ground (if even that, a grass straw can stop you).
Why? Why doesnt Thieves mechanics work the same as the other classes? Or why doesnt the other classes have the same mechanics? Its the same basic skill – teleport. It teleports you. But its not the same.
My only conclusion is that someone at Anet deliberatly made Thief teleport like this and thus, these “exploits” are actually by ANet design.
If someone can give another explanation, please, go ahead.
A much simpler explanation is that Anet made a mistake in the map and that it is an exploit.

If you or anyone is dying in the party then they should get more toughness. Once they get used to the dungeon or class they will die less and opt out to squishier gear.

I’d recommend lemon grass + melandru for your problem. Then again with lemon grass and melandru you wouldn’t even need Cleasing Ire =P
I don’t like banners so I will never use them.
Except for Battle Standard in WvW, but that is the only one.
I would really recommend learning where your classes’ Immobilizes are, those usually cause them to be downed fairly quickly.
For a Mesmer use sword main hand and skill “3”, it sends a clone to the enemy but when you press it again (“3”) you get ported to the enemy and immobilize it.
Go to Mount Mealstrom if your having difficulties finding holograms. Its usually very empty there.
I think a better solution would be to simply give bonuses for balanced combat and penalties for unbalanced. If a fight is 5/5 or 10/10 or 100/100, everyone involved gets X world xp. If the fight is 50/10, the side with 50 gets less world xp. The more severe the difference in numbers, the more severe the penalty/bonus.
Now – I don’t think this should be map-wide. It should be an area. So, if 100 people rush a tower that is only defended by 5 people, they get the tower; but they all get lower world XP. If, however, 10 or so break off the zerg to go cap the tower (instead of bringing the whole group), everyone gets full credit. Commanders would have the choice then to either break up their zerg a bit and send parties in different directions so that xp stays equal or continue with the zerg and handicap players’ leveling.
This would, in most cases, encourage more of a skirmish mentality that would benefit WvW in many ways (lag being one of them).
The details would have to be worked out, of course. But I think this is probably the best way to give players a choice. What do you want more? The map fast and easy or the map and the xp that goes with it?
Concerning the OP… i certainly do not support more AI in WvW. There are too many NPCs on the map already.
Terrible idea. Late nighters deserve wexp too, 10/0 = 0 exp for them when they pvdoor.
Why spaz out over legendaries?
They have the same stats are other weapons. And there are other alternative weapons that seem as if they should be legendary but aren’t (especially since some of the legendary weapons are not very nice looking).
For example Jormag’s Breath is (imo) much better looking than bolt, and much cheaper too. Same thing with the Vocanus being very nice as well.
DPS meters are merely a tool that encourages elitism. Honestly I don’t care for it, taking an extra 5 minutes to run CoF doesn’t bother me as long as I do it using the spec I feel comfortable with.

And I only have 6 laurels, I don’t go around killing random yaks if it wont help my team with the war. Why waste queue space? (I’m in T1 btw)
Someone going around killing bunnies and wolves just doesn’t seem to belong in WvW where the point is to capture towers and camps for the good of the team.
The only problem I have with laurels is that PvErs have such easy access to laurels with FOTM doing something they like and are ahead of WvWers gear wise. If it wasn’t gated to 40 a month this would be different, but we all know that’t not going to happen.
It takes 15 minutes to get a laurel. You guys…

1) badges are kitten easy to get on high tiers, this is so you can buy lots of siege.
2) waaaay too many people are stuffed senseless with badges and are too selfish too buy lots of siege and want rewards for themselves, aka ascended items.It’s not ever going to happen, and you can quote me on it

When will that be? As the patch hits? You really need to let people know earlier, especially the prices and the way the rankings will change. Quite frankly having just used a lot of badges on invader gear because kittening grenth is never open now it better not be too expensive in terms of badges.

What a let down.I don’t mind the combination I just don’t want the price in either laurels OR badges to be prohibitively expensive, eg. max badges per ascended piece should be no more than 250 badges.
The 1 laurel a day cap is what bothers me.
It took a month per piece to get one before so I never even bothered hoping that when Ascended came to WvW it wouldn’t require them.
I was wrong, and i’m sure it will still require at least half the laurels needed before…

this really needs to be looked into i for one Deleted SIX asuran accounts simply because my gear was too small i wanted The Predator but it was ridiculously small as well making the point of a Legendary weapon useless.
love the race but it takes the charm when your Exotic/Legendary gear pretty much suffers from scaling.
Unfortunately im starting to do the same.
If only they sold a way to change race on the gem store!

Customers or not, the fact that World vs. World is balanced around a server having a full population at all times of the day and night is an absolute joke.
It’s not fun, and it end up being repetitive.
Did you know it is always day some where in the world?
Did you know it is always night somewhere in the word? What’s your point?
His point is that you should stop being so inconsiderate of other players.
People who can only play at night should also have the ability to impact the fight.
Mine changes eye color to red, not sure if anyone else experiences this.
The reason is so that people do not get pigeon-holed into playing a character how others feel is best and can play them how they want to. I don’t want someone telling “your build is bad noob, you should play this” and so I am all for not having dps meters.
I decided to move on to Neverwinter.
Ive never seen so clunky game in my life. How do you people even like it?
It may be clunky, but I’d rather play a clunky game that knows how to balance classes than a game with great graphics that sucks at everything.
The tanks dont pull agro and so the Clerics are forced to tank. (Everything that has not been hit in the area has zero agro until it gets hit. Healing ticks pull agro and so all the smaller mobs go to the healer. Very annoying.)
The Great Weapon Fighter is a combination of dps and tank and so it is not good at either.
Look at their forums and you will see they have BIG problems with class balance…
(And yes I play Neverwinter.)

They should Definitely look into this. Legendaries are a waste.
During the State Of The Game they mentioned Thieves were supposed to do the most burst. So I wouldnt count on damage nerfs too much.
I love the 3% damage per boon!
We can now hit Guardians for more, and I heard Thieves will hug Guardians so we can be good against those too! =P
Because even the most inexperienced player can kill someone with more experience.
Then again that is their role, 1 on 1, so I suppose that should be the case since they aren’t very wanted in dungeons.
I like suggestion 2, 1 on the other hand…
