What they did to RTL when they would add in moves like Ancestral Grace is kind of staggering. Its an evasion heal ground target and on a 15 sec cd on a 1,200 ranged weapon on a class that can swap weapons and stealth. How do you even defend this?

I have a sword/axe ranger, I also have a Warrior with shouts and offhand warhorn.
My power Mesmer runs offhand sword for block/daze and spike damage.
All builds will make use of a weapon at some stage, it might not be in the META but there are players who know their builds well enough not to use META and get creative instead, focusing on a primary playstyle. Engies for example still use Pistol/Shield for burn based builds.
One person playing with those underused weapons does not change the fact that we never see them. The odds of us playing you are low.
Well, if you think about it, WvW has no purpose, so the people playing are only playing at the top where the fights are. Some people need more incentive than fun to win a game that is expensive and full of consumables.

What if the points earned in skirmishes were awarded to players?
The winners of a skirmish get 3 points, 2nd place gets 2 points, and 3rd place gets 1 point.
To prevent exploits and encourage effort, the reward decays by 1 point for each level below gold participation the player recieves.
These points could be used to give WvWers additional rewards without forcing them to change reward tracks. It also encourages effort and competition.
For example, a reward could be an ascended accessory for 30 points.
At 3 points every two hours, this would take 20 hours to achieve (aka a fairly long amount of time), but the payoff is that WvWers would be rewarded for focusing on winning WvW instead of doing random missions or grinding PvE. Over time, a WvWer will have the ability to purchase rewards regardless of whether or not they win, as long as they participate.
Some people may disagree with the lopsided rewards, but I believe that making everything perfectly equal makes WvW less competitive, which is an aspect WvW struggles with already.
Idk, I never see any of the ones I posted in WvW. I saw greatsword Necro once or twice in WvW, but there’s an exception to every rule.
It seriously looks like it came straight from Dreamworks.
Also, I don’t care what they do with it as long as it isn’t so obvious that woodenpotatoes will correctly speculate its entire timeline before the next patch.

Apatia’s story was actually sad. Her death was foreshadowed, but telling the norn her story was one of the best parts of the personal story.
Belinda was more like “Hi, I’m Marjory’s sister,” and then she died, and we were supposed to be sad about it, but we barely knew her.

Despite things looking bad, I haven’t felt my heartstrings get pulled yet. When an individual dies in GW2 nowadays, it either feels like their entire character was designed to die from the first second they appeared (Belinda), or a character dies and we were all predicting it long before it happened (Eir). When a massive group of uknown people die, it’s really hard to care about it, so it generally has no impact at all.
I’d like to see people we care about die. Who do we sacrifice to protect Aurene? What if Aurene is corrupted anyways? What if Braham dies and his body beomes an icebrood champion while we’re in the Fire Islands? Maybe we would hate the dragons like we’re supposed to if more people we met throughout our time in Tyria suffered in present storylines. They don’t feel threatening right now, because they only kill nobodies and people who they’re supposed to kill. Surviving a war is luck. Death should be unexpected and cruel. It should not naturally fit into the plot but instead drive the plot in unexpected directions.
Male pronouns are accepted a gender neutral in English (Refer to a person whose gender you don’t know or don’t want to distinguish as he. They is a plural pronoun and is therefore incorrect). Technically, there is nothing wrong with calling the female charr “keep lords” if they’re okay with it.

I forgot about warhorn on warrior. That’s super common in WvW. I’ll edit that.
Engi offhand pistol was actually on meta battle for what condi engis should use last patch iirc.
If he’s running rousing resilience, stunning him will make him tougher and heal him quite a bit. If he hits you with headbutt, he gets easy regen, stability, and access to his burst. A condi build will be better if he’s not using cleansing ire, but it takes a long time to tear through 30k hp. If you don’t want to use condi, I suggest you bring more people or run minstrel druid.
Druid/Daredevil is posibly the best dual combo in WvW. Druids are immortal in small fights and provide a bit of bonus stealth, and Daredevils can safely move in and out of combat while killing things. Tanky druid is also amazing 1v1, because they are virtually indestructable, and their pets can kill most builds.
Trade tomes for siege or give us siege tbh. Literally all of my money goes into consumables insted of ascended gear.
There are plenty of weapons in this game that are underwhelming, but there are a few that are literally never seen. Tell me about weapons that are never used.
Guardian Torch: I think I’ve seen torch guardian once in 4 years.
All Warrior offhands that are not shield/torch/warhorn/sword: I don’t think I’ve ever seen an axe or mace offhand. Maybe once in WvW on a new player.
Offhand swords: All offhand swords are the same (mediocre block + interesting skill). Warrior sword is the only one I ever see, and even that is a rare occasion.
Ranger axe: I can’t even remember if rangers have an offhand axe, but if they do, I’ve never seen it, but I also only see mainhand axe once in a blue moon, so that’s pretty forgettable too.

Idk about sPvP, but in WvW, druids can run around in full minstrel’s and kill things with their pet’s stats while being invulnerable 1v1 and having the best mobility by far.
WvW has leather nodes now, this should help supply.
Those nodes aren’t guaranteed to drop t6 leather, so that’s debatable.
They’re not, but when the price is 80 silver for the refined leather, it’s not going to take much to move the needle.
Or everyone will hoard it, because we all need it.

I can see it now:
We felt that Necromancer had too much condition damage and boon removal, so we reduced it where we felt it was necessary
Signets of Suffering: This trait no longer corrupts boons. It applies 3 stacks of vulnerability instead.
Corrupt Boon: Reduced boons corrupted to 2
Removed boon corrupt from scepter auto
reduced base torment on scepter 3 to 1 stack
added 3s icd to deathly chill
And if they stream it, they will do a mic drop

Why does d/p even need a nerf? It’s best matchup is vs other thieves. Sure, it’s super safe in WvW, but its biggest advantage over every other thief build is that it’s reasonably threatening even with players who don’t have thousands of hours on thief.
There are a lot of things on thief that are either underwhelming (d/d) or not fun to fight against (p/d and ghost thief). This is where changes should be directed.
The reflect is too good. Engi reflect is already too good with hammer. As said earlier, Daze and reflect is kind of redundant, but shredding stability is good. The pulsing boons is cool, but what would they pulse that wouldn’t be op?

The renewing Stamina nerf coupled with the vigor nerf really put D/D out of commission, especially in sPvP, where energy sigils were nerfed too.

What I’ve seen is that revs have to outplay condi classes by killing them before they can land a good condi burst. Rev’s anti condi is as bad as it looks.
The instances were tedious, and the map based quests felt like a chore. As somebody who plays a lot of ebg, I’m already tired of destroyers, and all of the “new” destroyers are reskins with more conditions. I also disliked the hearts, because they weren’t better than most of the hearts in core tyria.
When leather automatically adds 20-30g to the price of all Exotic/Ascended gear, there is a problem. The reason people won’t sell it is because you need large quantities of it just to make a test build. It’s more efficient to stockpile what you find.
Well if they are playing sustain druid, marauder warrior, or pu condi mesmer, I am inclined to do a few nonchalant hops on their corpse. This is also a really good way to get people to hate mail you.

Marauder Warriors are the ones that are basically immune to everything half the time, do insane damage, and using greatsword to nab the still unnerfed adrenal health. They like to run damage reduction food or regen food. I find them somewhat cheesy but less cheesy than pu mesmer or sustain druid.
I think Adrenal Health was nerfed actually.
And real Manchildren use zerker gear for the full feeling of driving your enemies before you.

I’m switching to scepter focus ele in WvW, and I’m really bad because I don’t know any rotations. How do I play Scepter/Focus ele?
I’m using Marauder gear, Strength Runes, and Earth/Air/Arcane.
I’ve seen this setup work, so I’d like to make use of it.
If Deathly Swarm or Enfeebling Blood gave lf, it would probably be better now.
I disagree. Siegeplay is not static. However, point blank catapults are by far the most popular option.
Depending on the objective, you can kill siege with cannons, arrow carts, ballistas, trebuchets, or even catapults (wall catapults actually work). As long as the tower isn’t paper or Anz, there is a good chance you will be able to defend it.
I’d like to see the base defenses of walls boosted and the upgrade times decreased but the impact of upgrades to the walls decreased.

The wall was better. Consider what this does to Worlds as communities.
The constant transferring and stacking every 2 months isn’t healthy. That matches themselves aren’t that good because it takes a lot of time and effort to balance coverage to coverage between the worlds in a Tier.WvW has become far more EotM the past 5 months.
You could say that the problem there is that people want to pay Anet to win at WvW by bandwagoning a server with a higher winning potential, and they immediately decide to leave that server as soon as it gets split apart, which nets Anet tons of gem sales.
I think no movement was better for the wallets of bandwagoners. Personally, I think bandwagoning would have a much harder time being a thing if they changed the pairings more frequently, but that would make Anet lose the money they net from people who pay to go where they will win.
This system is clearly not intended to prevent landslide victories. If your server is losing by x2 points, it was never going to win. It does make it harder to get a landslide victory, but your server has to actually win skirmishes to keep up.
It does seem to reward well rounded coverage over strong coverage in certain timezones, which is why servers that have huge ticks during NA are losing to servers that have average ticks all around.

Necromancer occupies a type of balance known for having lower numbers but being really good at countering more dangerous classes. If they removed plague signet, Necromancer would need to hit a lot harder in return. It would also struggle vs condis.

Fought you on my guardian. You are one of the most skilled roamers and vicious fighters I’ve ever met. We had 4 encounters in an alpine BL (around N. camp) a couple months or more ago and I ended up stomping you after the fourth. Just know I did this out of respect; you were far too dangerous to let alive!

Ok, I get it. That’s a good thing. Now that WvW is a series of 2 hour matches, things can be balanced around that much easier.
Umm Infiltrator’s Arrow does not need to be better at running away lol. If it were half cost after using 1, I could use 6 + 3 +3 +3 initiative, span 3600 units, and reset any fight.
Also, isn’t sword damage lacking? Wouldn’t buffing the auto, adjusting pistol whip, and doing anything other than adding stability at the end of flanking strike to make it more spammable be preferred?
The Churning Earth change still doesn’t really make it viable. It just makes it go from worst skill ever to terrible skill that might be the worst skill ever.
Changes 1 and 3 would be good for cleansing wave.
Offhand dagger needs buffs almost everywhere. Updraft? Long cooldown. Ride the Lightning? I’m very emotional about this one’s cooldown. Frost Aura? Long cooldown. Cleansing wave? Long cooldown. Earthquake? Long cooldown. Fire Grab? Hard to land. Ring of Fire? Actually the best skill on offhand dagger.
The problem with offhand dagger is that it gives low rewards for high cooldown skills, and it has no anti projectile and a weak approach. Focus is indisputably better.
I support this thread. WvW needs this.
