So as far as i know there is a system for punishing people who leave the game and also you dont loose pips if your teammember leaves and its 4vs5.

But what about the people who are just standing around ,doing nothing exept move a bit every then and now to prevent beeing disconnected?

In like 10 games today I had 2 of those in my team and one in the enemy team.

It´s extremely annoying to loose pips thanks to these people especially since there is nothing you can do about it.
So please Anet, give us the option to report these people so that they can be removed from pvp.

READ THIS: Anet have already said to report them for BOTTING.

Good. As I wrote another thread last night on this very topic, I’d like to know exactly where you reported people abusing MMR because I do categorically not believe the thief we had on our team was simply a bad player, he was 100% trying to lower his MMR. Different case of abuse to the ‘exploit’ talked about in this thread, but is equally frustrating and not fun for anyone when we all get punished by being stuck in Emerald for 400 years because people intentionally want to lose matches.

No, this would be a very bad thing. We have enough people hissy fitting when something doesn’t go their way immediately. It will encourage bad behaviour like this and poor sportsmanship. Anything can happen in a match, you can NOT tell 100% of the time how a match will turn out from just the first minute. I’ve seen many matches be turned around for many different reasons.

Yeh I appreciate that actually and have told my guild we need to practice properly in unranked before we even approach ranked again and properly determine a solid team with the best classes to support each other and to negate what we may come across.

However on the other point I made… I can’t believe that thief was just plain ‘bad’. Even so, please do not put me with him :’(

The “streaks” allow you to advance tiers up to Ruby, so it’s not a bad thing as long as you get enough to go up a tier before hitting a loss streak. If you won and lost every other game, then you’d be stuck in Emerald league forever.

I AM stuck in Emerald for ever. 4 pips to then go to 0 pips to go back to 3 pips to lose one pip to lose another pip OOO I gained 2 pips, ah but then I lose again… IT IS A NIGHTMARE.

Couldn’t agree more. As a DH I lay my traps and go to sleep. Wake up to stomp. The end. There is zero skill involved. We are sick of a few classes now who seem to be able to do everything and it’s completely unbalanced. Meanwhile thieves and warriors may as well not bother.

I know Anet have officially said they are investigating players who are specifically aiming to lower their MMR, but aside from if they remain in the lobby or go afk and us reporting for botting as Anet said to do, how can we report those who we can clearly see are doing the same?

For example, a match we just lost (losing us yet another point in emerald), we had one thief and one necro who took 20 seconds to even move from the base (one could argue it was lag)… then they come out, ignore close (meanwhile 3 of us dying on mid) and the thief stands there doing nothing and then pursues the boss (on forest map) to then die (without even capping close).

For the entire match he followed me around (I was playing DH) and would go down INSTANTLY no matter what, once I tried to rez him he didn’t even bother to try and get up nor was fighting the person aiming to stomp him.

This kind of behaviour went on throughout and was utterly pathetic. I do not see why anyone would want to intentionally lose like this other than to lower their MMR rating. I am literally sick to death of being placed with teams who just should not be in ranked PvP.

I know I can’t prove that he was actively playing badly on purpose, but if he wasn’t, he is genuinely a bad player, please don’t put us with people like him. One other guy in our team wanted to AFK the whole game just to get it over with, and that is just plain sad.

It comes to something when you’re winning more unranked than you are ranked these days -.-

Utterly fed up.

In addition to this, it seems when we play as a guild we do worse than if I play alone or if my husband and I play together – what is that about??

Keys… oh keys -.- lol (like zephyrite lockpicks), Mystic Salvage Kit, BL Salvage Kit, Bank Express, Trading Express, Merchant Express, Repair Canister, Rev Orb, Perma Mystic Forge Conduit, all my various weapons for different areas of the game, various boosts, potions, food and other buffs, Witch’s Broom, Box o’ Fun, Common Clothing Tonic, Endless Toymaker Tonic, Pirate Sword, Endless Blue Quaggan Tonic, Maize Balm, Tele to Friend, Aether Keys. HoMS. Banners like Hero and Gathering etc.

LOL… I actually didn’t realize I had so much… the toys and stuff are for GM gatherings and world boss waits. I do have 128 slots thank god.

This has BOUND to have cropped up before, but I can’t at least see anything new about it but after some recent discussions about genuine people wanting to sell a legendary (JUST for example) to a friend, or even something small like a tiny totem, it is not at the moment possible to ensure a fair trade; one whereby the seller gets their gold and the buyer gets their item.

Why can’t we have something similar to Guild Wars 1, where we could set up a mutual trade between friends. Each person must agree to the traded items for it to go through ensuring no fiddling or scamming.

Surely this would perhaps also reduce the amount of scamming out there because there is a fair way to do this other than the TP where it is sold/bought randomly.

I am sure there must be a reason for this not to be a fixture, and if there is I’d love to know the reasons behind it. Similarly, if it can be done… will it?

Hi all… I am just wondering whether there’s something I need to do to make the game realize I already acquired the precurser ‘Storm’ since I made Meteorlogicus. I also have bought ‘Howl’ for making Howler. But the achievements section for Legendaries have both items still locked.

Is this a bug? Or, do I have to do something in particular? I learned the Mastery line (first) under Legendary crafting and still nothing. I do hope I don’t have to get them again!!

Ok, so you only need 3 Guild members on the same server for the WvW missions. The rest server doesn’t matter.

The material requirement is fine for guilds that aren’t chock full of solo players who want to keep ALL of their mats. Players that are solely in it for themselves (nothing wrong with this, but you can’t have your cake and eat it too) Members that want to build the hall need balance about what they should/shouldn’t donate.

I personally feel the buffs are better now, no need to re-queue them, you can reselect which ever one you want when ever you like. Tbh the old buffs were a pain to keep up all the time.
My small guild of 10 active members is guild level 25, and we’re an aetherium cap away from Tavern 2 upgrade. We have 3 more guild enhancements to build, but we’ve got the materials for those done. The last building we need 2nd upgrade on is the workshop. Arena, market and warroom have their 2nd upgrades, we just keep filling them out now :P

But I fundamentally disagree with the buffs. Why wouldn’t you want magic find AND karma going at the same time? Personally I didn’t find it hard to keep those queued and ready to go in the slightest and it was good to have a regular perma buff of karma, mf and xp. But to be able to just choose one at a time is unfair, IMO. I completely agree that the time-frames are much better though rather than 24 hours here, 48 hours there. So I agree with you there. But we’ve also had issues where members have forgotten they were on xp for masteries and have wanted to change to karma – and this was never an issue before because I would ensure they had it all in thanks for what they did for the guild. There’s two ways to look at that though, I appreciate.

It is wonderful you have such wealthy and ready people in your guild to have been able to get to the level you’re at. However, it’s no competition, I just disagree with the types of mats and amounts of mats being asked for. Our guild is genuinely like family, everyone really cares about each other and the guild, but most are relatively new to the game or are working on their own things and for me to ask for empyreal stars and silk bolts etc is over the top for what they’re getting in return. They don’t seem to mind though, which is awesome… but me as a guild leader who wants to adequately reward my awesome members with good buffs, an exciting guild hall, and fun things to do is much harder now. Course sand to even begin to get a decorations vendor… let alone the rest.

Lastly, the point about WvW is, it automatically rules out some members of the guild to which we’d have to literally say “you can’t do this mission” so they won’t be rewarded and the entire guild suffers from a lack of +10% favour that larger guilds can obtain. I just don’t see why this can’t be altered someway so that multiserver guilds can enjoy WvW missions as well as lone server guilds.

Hey, I’m not complaining about everything – I am more than impressed by so much and love the new changes to missions (haha aside WvW) but, some things are just too much in the GH that’s all and I know I’m not alone.

I actually disagree with the base of this thread. There ARE issues and problems, I fundamentally agree, but for us and our guild, overall the missions are an awesome change.

We’ve only had one challenge bug and that was the Skritt one last week. All the other PvE and PvP missions have worked great for us. The Rush has a few issues with wanting to suddenly change maps after you’re half way through which we find so odd and also the way it gets launched can be difficult, but otherwise all of the missions we’ve done have been successful.

WvW is an issue though, as I already posted in another thread and I agree entirely that it should either a) allow people to guest onto other worlds for multiserver guilds to do these missions, or b) allow fewer than 3 people to do it (although I rather feel that defeats the object of “guild missions”.

I love the fact they cost nothing to restart should you fail once around. I love that Bounty for us has been one target especially when there are only 10 or so people online, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the Trek which we’ve never been able to do and now enjoy very much whether it be 30 targets or 5.

I guess, by the sounds of it, we’ve been lucky where bugs are concerned. There were more bugs with people not getting commendations prior to the changes than now, for us anyway.

Black Lion Keys vs Dwarven Keys!

I had to post this, just had to… While my beautiful characterful Asura Elementalist was exploring Dredgehaunt Cliffs, she at the moment as accrued 7 Dwarven Keys. Yet, throughout several map completed characters and daily PvE play, across all my characters I have received ONE black lion key drop from an inquest mob in Metrica Province since the patch update on chests and keys “drop rate increase”.

Since there are, what (?) only 2 dwarven doors in total I can even open in DC, and I have dozens of chests in my bank, it’d be so welcome if Anet realized perhaps they upped the drop rate of the wrong type of key :P…

In all seriousness though, the rate of key drops and also map completion keys is so dire, and when you finally get one, the items in the chests are so dull, I am bemused by the entire thing. It would be nice if something you did have a certainty of giving a key other than the one level 10 personal story per week you can do.

This way you can at least have 2 set of sigil on each spear. With only one weapon there would be too much limitations compared to other profession in this game for uw.

The 2nd funny thing is that Underwater, we have 2 weapons to swap between, ironic fact is that BOTH have to be spears.

I came to the Revenant forums to post a query about this exact thing.

WHY are there two weapon sets for just ONE enabled weapon??? Why can’t revenant use a trident?

I don’t have enough gold to list. I have like 50 silver remaining and nothing in my material storage. I need 160 gold to list it, then have enough to turn around and buy Quip. I’m at the point I’m telling people I will give them Incinerator flat out, no strings if they gimme Quip. But apparently that sounds suspicious =( Its an honest trade, I’m more than willing lol but people are suspicious because society is mean.

On this though… it definitely sounds suspicious and I feel for you, because I believe you.

I think there should be a trade function like in GW1, where you each had to accept the trade, so no one would lose out over genuine things like this.

I am getting very drained with all the map chat “LFG RAID…” stuff. When trying to get a group together for night bosses it is getting really confusing and generally, I am fed up of seeing it in the map chat when really it isn’t anything to do with the map.

There should be an official LFG tab for Raids, OR make it a lobby, because all the people hanging around at the portal is also scaling up the Itzel hunt event to where we are getting Champs everywhere. This might be good for farming, if people didn’t die so easily because the bodies taking up the map space are not interested in helping.

What would be fair?
Last person to apply the condition that dealt the killing blow? Spam condies.
First person to create a stack that dealt the killing blow? Be the first to apply condies and keep them up the entire time.

Considering the amount of condition ticks an individual player can dish out… let alone a team.. conditions shouldn’t count IMO. If conditions counted, then inanimate objects like Boxes and Doors should receive condition damages along with it. Currently, there’s a Good and a Bad for full condi builds. This huge differentiation between Condi and Raw Power should be kept apparent.

NPCs don’t usually cleanse themselves anyways… it’s 3x easier to kill NPCS with condi than power builds… It should only be last hit from raw damage.

My opinion is this. I think the NPC should be awarded to the person who dealt the final killing raw damage blow. But that could get tricky, if he definitely dies from bleed stacks.

Either way this is an awesome thread.

Hi everyone.

I know this topic has been brought up previously, by numerous small guild leaders, but after playing HoT for some time now and building up our guild hall, I just want to reiterate problems we’ve had as a 70 member guild (around 20-30 active at any given time).

What we had before, we don’t have now: our guild members were enjoying perma-buffs of xp, karma, magic find bonuses as a given to being part of our very close-nit family-like guild. But now, we have reduced xp buff, AND we can only choose one buff at a time. I don’t understand this, not when all the upgrades need sooo much guild member input now also.

The types of materials required and amounts I believe are simply unfair. We managed to build our guild from level 5 to 13 so far, yet a friend in a larger guild was asking ME for help with silverwaste shovels (which I had used all of for our guild). This screams volumes to me personally. Not only this though, but there are a number of newer players in our guild doing really well on crafting their first ascended bits and pieces, yet to build the hall and start gaining crafting buffs and so on, the upgrades are asking for key ascended mats such as bolts of silk and elonian leather squares, empyreal stars!

When we initially set up the first few areas of our guild hall it seemed like most of the upgrades we could make were to do with WvW. Well, our guild is fairly small and we don’t have many people on the same server, so we’re not really into WvW, although we’d like to.

This brings me on to missions. Why should multi-server guilds be punished out of the 10% extra favour for taking pot luck chance on what missions we get? If we get WvW missions, which we did last week, we cannot fulfill those missions at all without having to beg randoms to join our guild for a few minutes while we capture a camp. I just don’t get this. Would it not be easy to enable guild members to guest to a world to enable fulfillment of WvW tasks? Because we enjoy doing the PvP AND PvE and at the moment, I am having to a) sacrifice the extra 10% favour which larger guilds will almost always be able to achieve, and b) spread PvP and PvE missions over fortnightly turnovers.

Scribing:
What happens when 5 or more people want to do scribing, yet all the mats are the guilds’ mats? They get spread too thin, people don’t know what’s being crafted where, how. It just makes no sense to me right now.

I fully appreciate that building a guild hall and all the stuff that goes with it is a life long project, but it’s the buffs and materials and the ways in which medium and small sized guilds have seemingly still been penalised is where it hurts. All I want is for my wonderful members who have given so much to the guild already their perma-buffs back and for us all to be able to enjoy whatever mission pops up each week.

Thanks all, especially the top few that answered my query. The issue is NOT getting 3 players to do a guild mission by the way lol, wherever that weird reply came from…

@Tiffany, I for sure wondered whether to ask in the WvW map for someone to just join for a second lol… perhaps I will try this. Incidentally, it is true we have a roster of 70, but not all are on at the same time, nor do they all do WvW.

And, yes, the simple answer is to remove WvW from our selected missions, BUT, we are fully capable and very much enjoy PvP AND PvE missions, so we’d have to weekly rotate those PLUS lose the 10% extra favor for doing the random selections.

The 10% extra favor for random selections is one of the issues here.

Do you *NEED* 3 people?

This week, our 70 member guild unlocked a WvW mission. It states to capture a camp with 3 or more people. No one other than me and my husband are on the same server and we have successfully taken camps and so on on our own.

So, what I am asking is, would the mission fail if only 2 of us did it, or is it an absolute requirement for the mission to succeed regardless as to whether you capture the camp or not? I am guessing you DO need 3 people, in which case it is very frustrating, but I would like to know.

Look at other classes such as guard, they have an elite that makes them fully invulnerable while they channel and refreshes all of their virtues (meaning they just use all of them during the channel and there is no cooldown), or Mesmer’s Mass Invis/Time/chronomancer well/MOA all of which are amazing Elites.

I could not agree more. When leveling an ele, you get the sucky Tornado as an initial elite you could get before the whole hero points change. ZERO under water elites for EVER until you got/get enough skill/hero points for Glyph … etc etc.

We are literally stuck with ONE skill underwater and practically one and a half decent skills in general. I have complained about this for ever lol.

Also being a real life storm chaser, Tornado is soooooo underwhelming :P.

I love the suggestion above at making it ground targetable!!!!

Yes you can view them all from hero panel, but I agree – my husband and I have both stated we’d like to be able to see all the trait lines together again.

Hi, my guild and I did a similar PvP GM but the goal was to score 500 points. As said above you must form a guild team via the guild panel, queue as that team and get the mission started before queuing.

I agree about the time constraint, however, the good thing about GMs now is that they don’t cost anything to re-try. So, if you fail because of time or w/e just try again.

One other thing I’ll say is, we had verification of our success before the match was even over and I personally found that useful. Considering you can get the right amount of points needed to succeed whether you win or lose (we won btw lol) that is very useful IMO.

Hi NeXeD, thanks for that. I think you’ll find I did appreciate the response by @SlayerSixx and massively considered the TK. I also DID change the trait he suggested, so where your comment comes from about me not listening is weird.

I tried TK instead of Scrapper Gyro, and yes, personally, it’s not fot me because it takes away the lightning field combo and also the damage dealt when using the gyro properly (i.e. in poison/burn/blind fields) and on locked down foes, help preventing rezzes that kind of thing.

Anyway, I am more than happy for further ways to improve the build, but I don’t want it being another Engineer kit build, it’s a scrapper.

Here is footage of me easily beating the Chieftan in the PvP lobby, and I will post some actual game play in due course. But, hopefully this will help provide the concept of where I was headed.

Just wanted to re-visit and say that after a good solid number of matches yesterday, I am even more confident in this build.

There is a lot of defense against direct damage, including TB skill from Bulwark Gyro and the block on Hammer skill 4 (not to mention the healing with the superspeed).

Plus, people are massively underestimating the Shredder Gyro. Definitely is without a doubt not worthy of laughing at anyway. If you read my build notes properly, you must use it effectively, or yes it is a waste. But, in all the fights I encountered yesterday, when used right, it was a game changer. On locked down foes, it is a great extra damage and on eles who mist form away after being downed, I popped the shredder on them while fighting other enemies around me and the gyro just whirled away and finished them off entirely – blowing it up early for a nice finish.

All the combo fields you can get with this particular gyro are also not to be sniffed at. And, originally the main reason to take it was the TB skill to give this build that extra lightning combo.

At any rate, my guildies noticed some awesome uptime (there were a few matches I didn’t die at all, and held my own against 2v1s very nicely and was able with support to wipe 4 enemies). In fact yet another team saw us wipe nearly all of them and said in /say chat “wow” which just made me feel awesome lol.

I am going to try and get some video of game play to show you just how good this can be when played right.

@SlayerSixx, thanks for your constructive feedback. I will definitely re-visit the Lock On trait. As for replacing the Shredder Gyro, I absolutely see the reasons for this, however I wanted this to be an actual Scrapper Build and not necessarily, tool kit with a couple of Gyros… plus, with my disability coming into play, I can find TK a little difficult to manage in high mobility fights.

BUT having said that, I really appreciate your constructive critique and I will definitely try it out and it could easily be the make or break. Thanks!

Hi all. I am one of those people who tries to create their own build and never feels fully satisfied, however finally I feel that I have a Scrapper build that I have been having some great success with in sPvP and solo. Please do add your hints and tips and critique (constructive though please). I also realize things will change with balancing since everything is so new, but I was excited to share this.

I couldn’t find a latest build site where I could simply put in the build and link it here, so I am going to have to do it the old fashioned way:

So, Hammer for weapon – sigils I chose Force and Blood. I’ve never been good at choosing sigils, but I think these work well with the rest of the build.

Rune of Hoelbrak for all round support and help against condis (I’m not 100% convinced on the rune of the scrapper just yet).

And, probably boring, but Marauder Amulet really for the extra precision and health.

Slot skills: Medic Gyro, Bulwark Gyro, Shredder Gyro, Elixir C and Sneak Gyro. Sneak Gyro, I find has some issues – for example if it doesn’t keep up with you and your team mate(s) you get revealed, but I have found it useful and a game changer with several people on a point and the confusion it can cause when several disappear, get rezzed and so on.

Elixir C is one that can be obviously swapped out for something else, but, I find it absolutely imperative to transfer those condis. Again, a game changer quite often and saved my life with a 2v4 scenario on far, leaving us able to wipe the 4 and one of the 4 to type “seriously?” in /say chat, which was awesome. LOL.

Although the shredder gyro doesn’t move with the target I find the damage output to be sufficient for its uses and until people get used to it, I think it’s great. Plus the extra dps when exploding it before it runs out of gas.

The tool belt skills you get with both these gyros are just awesome too. Defense Field can really save your life, and Spare Capacitor giving you a daze and a lightning field combo. This build relies on getting those lightning field combos from the rotation of the hammer skills and tool belt skills as it synergizes brilliantly with the traits I’ve chosen, giving this build some excellent survivability and good damage output enabling me to win a good majority of 1v1s:

For the scrapper trait line: Shocking Speed (tying in with what I said above), you gain superspeed when creating leap or blast in lightning field; Rapid Regeneration – key to what I said above giving you a great heal every time (practically) you use this kind of combo, which is a lot; and Perfectly Weighted for some stability. Perhaps I should go for Final Salvo to further synergize with the superspeed stuff?

Other specializations and Traits:
Tools: Static Discharge (because I use the TB skills a lot); Lock On; Kinetic Battery – I just find this one too good to leave out. Two uses of Detection Pulse, or Spare Capacitor? Yes please.

Inventions: Automated Medical Response for more survivability again; Mecha Legs; and Bunker Down.

Playstyle, generally, is literally to try and get the most out of the combo field lightning and superspeed. The reveal on TB from Sneak Gyro is just awesome for those pesky thieves and mesmers and for Elixir C, I try and save it to when I have a lot of condis and am pressured to get the full benefit, plus there’s the great team support for this also with the Toss. Gyros are really self explanatory, and obviously try and use Shredder Gyro on a locked target.

There’s probably little else to say at this point. But, I am proud of this, so please don’t batter me down too harshly with your critique lol, but I am very excited to hear what you think and what changes you’d make.

Need to repair GW2 on start-up

My PC, admittedly was not built for playing games and rather was built as an entertainment centre by my husband but he let me put GW2 on it and the game has been running fine for over a year (decent FPS with a new graphics card and good smooth play, few crashes in-game), until the past few months.

Several blue screens, which could be obviously other issues. But, however we restart the PC, whether it go to sleep, be logged out completely, left running, I have to 99% of the time repair the game (and often force restart the entire PC as I cannot kill the broken game). I always ensure the game is closed prior to leaving.

This is getting tiresome and I wondered if anyone had any advice, please?

@DEM, how many is “tiny”? I’d say the original poster’s guild is tiny! I run a moderately sized guild (60~members, though with real life coming into play only around 10-25 on at any given time) and indeed, with building just the tavern we have got difficulties because we had none of the mats needed prior to HoT for the glass mugs and kegs. Everyone pitched in wonderfully for the rest of the stuff.

One thing I will say is, on an episode of ‘Guild Chat’ Colin said that, really they don’t view a ‘guild’ to be less than 5 people. Whether you agree with that is another matter, but I think that’s where they bring in the 3 people minimum.

BUT, all the chat about balancing favor etc so that larger guilds can’t get overly ahead and gives smaller guilds chance to roll alongside more or less, is and was a wrong thing for them to say, because, as I pointed out above, we don’t have tons of people farming flax for linseed oil to make the kegs, and all the sand and stuff for the glass mugs, it is taking us a lot of time, and I feel already left behind.

That said, achieving our GH on expansion day release was triumphant and whatever and whenever we get our upgrades, we feel we have earned them and haven’t just zipped through, wham bam, everything done, we can sleep now. I feel a sense of achievement as we go through and get things done and the new missions are awesome.

But, I honestly do feel for you. I’d take the advice previously given in this thread and find another small guild to help you out… Best of luck.

I just wanted to post an ENORMOUS thank you to all the developers and hundreds of others behind the scenes for all they have done in creating Heart of Thorns.

Going into the Maguuma, properly (not in BETA) has been already a challenging, fun and most wonderful experience. Obtaining our Guild Hall was exciting and challenging also and when we succeeded, you could hear the roars of happiness all throughout the hall echoing in ones imagination.

The areas are extraordinarily beautiful, the graphics (even with my mediocre pc and on low/medium) are insanely good, for example the skin on the friendly Hylek, the SMOKE… wow, it looks so real.

Aside from being disappointed in not being able to use my elite specification(s) yet, and it seemingly is going to take forever to do so, I am so grateful for all the hours of hard work you guys have put into this and so are my guildies.

Being a disabled GW2 gamer, and GW2 being the only game I love, I have yet to be disappointed in this BEAUTIFUL game, with sooo much more about it; story, lore, twists and turns, living within a story. Incredible.

Dishonor: does it actually work?

Can an official ArenaNet person please answer my query as to whether the dishonor sytem, as shown on the wiki notes about how the current Glicko PvP MMR match-up works?

We encountered a player (who I wish to God I could name here) whereby our team mates warned us that he didn’t play through an entire match and ended up just sitting in base.

Sure enough, the same happened, he “/sleep” throughout the entire game.

We were THEN put with him AGAIN (and no way do we (as in myself and my husband) have any dishonor at all, so this bemuses me for a start) and he did the same thing, as well as completely leaving the match. That match we ended up 3v5.

This makes PvP extraordinarily miserable for those who genuinely play throughout no matter what the score. Poor sportsmanship like this ought to be punished and the wiki states that a person such as this gains “stacks of dishonor” and will thereby begin to be placed with similar people like himself.

Does this ACTUALLY happen?

Well he’s not wrong, Thief didn’t really need more damage…they needed a buff to everything else..

Have you tried in nearly all ascended in a lower zone trying to kill things? Some things take way too long to kill, maybe 10 or so seconds or even longer when just autoattacking to avoid triggering the mob’s interrupt or blind skills.

Actually yes, p/p I have found to be extremely OP in PvE. I made a sylvari thief just for p/p and I was astounded at how just one Unload would blast mobs to smithereens (spelling ? LOL).

And please note my above comment was for PvP and general ‘thief’.

Thieves are NOT underpowered. A good thief should be able to have good sustainability and win most 1v1s on a point contest. I certainly can at least. And, read I said ‘most’ and not ‘all’.

They are indeed squishy in bigger fights but again with their stealth and tricks, mobility, should be able to withstand a short enough amount of time to assist their team in secure stealth stomps and secure rezzing.

Their POWER DOES NOT need a buff. I can get shot down with Basalisk venom without being able to do ONE skill to counteract it. Granted, these thieves MUST execute their opener perfectly, or THEY will get burst down, but no way do these skills need buffing, IMHO.

You know what, I only started running Arah regularly recently, and I 100% agree. The first time we encountered him, we failed to ‘push’ him to the wall, and I was happy to try and LEARN his mechanics, dodge right, and do the kitten ed thing PROPERLY. But, after the millionth time trying, two of our team swapped to guard to ensure the one-shot. Just so we could continue the dungeon.

One of the biggest problems we’ve encountered is the INSTANT damage from the aoe. And lack of being able to see his animations properly due to everything else going on.

We have actually killed him properly, once with just 3 of us alive, and I was one of those 3, so I am more than proud. Now, he can be nerfed please ;P… nah, but please do something to let us do this boss properly, the way it was intended.

To that end, dungeons annoy me quite a lot anyway, in that, in reality you have to skip tons of mobs just to get through, often requiring a thief/mesmer to do so, and this in itself makes it just less of a challenge and more of a grind. I’d love to go in Arah and “kill EVERYTHING” (see what I did there? :P) but, with elites by the hundreds that you can’t easily pull…

I didn’t want to go back through 12 pages to be sure no one else mentioned it- I decided to level a new ele. I got a key for level 10 yesterday and for level 40 today. If I have a character without level 40 story done, I will try to get it done this week to be sure only level 10 is impacted.

Success! I got a key for level 40 story on two different characters today.

I did the opposite. I did the 40 story soon after the patch and got the 40 key. A few days later I did a new character and the 10 story, NO KEY.

I guess the level 10 key cant be the second one in the week, no matter what level the first was.

This is shocking. We realllllllllly need a response on this ArenNet, seriously. I’d be happy to just know the figures right now, considering I’ve received over 10 chests since this update and ZERO keys, with just ONE guild member out of 60+ actually getting a key drop.

Honestly, I’ve played so long, it just doesn’t bother me, and truthfully never really did. I was usually just too caught up in game-play.

And, occasionally my asura character says, does something that makes me laugh so much, it gives me a joy for the game’s fruitful nature. Just make a joke out of it, play and just let it be. Or, turn your sound down.

I am sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t mind it, and occasionally also finds it really amusing.

Okay, further to my receiving 2 chests yesterday with utter nonsense inside, once again today I get one chest and zero keys. I did still have a key though from the sale, so, like in my last post, I opened it. Contents:

Bank access express #facepalm
Trading post express #pullmorehairout
Speed booster #KILLMENOW

This change is utterly banal when the contents of these chests are abysmal.

Out of 60 guild mates only one has had a key drop so far. Oh and he got an account bound mini he already had and I forget what else because it was so dull.

Please anet address this and answer our legitimate, fair questions regarding the subject too. A lot of people in this thread have great ideas – we need your input. We are your future and you are jeopardizing a lot by not commenting and responding to is very VERY loyal supporters.

As I said, I agree about the possibility of the exploit, and provided a suggestion to counteract that. However, it would be nice to have a dev reply to this thread to help me understand exactly how the algorithm does work in this regard considering what you have both said above.

Okay, since this horrendous change I have played for 8 hours this evening and received 2 black lion chests (noticed increase in drop rate) and ZERO keys.

Like it or not, I had 2 keys left from buying some in the sale so I opened them and got:

Boost enchantment powders. Anet, are you having a joke? With these supposedly new super boosters this item itself is more useless than before.

2 black lion trading post expresses (1 in each chest) – not bad I guess but I have 10 or so already. Definitely NOTHING special.

Strength booster. #facepalm

Armor booster #pullhairout

An account bound parrot mail carrier, which is pretty cool but I have one and 2 more taking up needless room in my bank.

Need I say ANY more? Lets see if my husband or I get any keys tomorrow!

Do we know what the drop rate increase is yet?
