- When i thought my character became a Hero after killing the biggest threat in Tyria: Zaitan, A- nets brings up a silvary psyco who raises up another “Biggest” threat: Mordemoth. What will it be next? Another (race) psyco rasing up another “Biggest” threat? Ao we have 5 races, one was, 4 more to go?
Yeah, but if there are never any new threats, then there wouldn’t be much of a storyline. And our characters are still heroes. That is never going to change.
If “something breaks” its either software or hardware. That is not something, to the best of my knowledge a GM in ANY MMO is responsible for. In the vast majority of instances, GMs are responsible for dealing with player behavior.
There is an in-game bug report feature, as well as the tech support side of this forum, for everything else.
In LOTRO, when an instance bugs out, a GM will come and advance it for you, so you can get completion and not lose any progress.
I’ve also asked LOTRO GMs to unbug NPCs that won’t talk to me and they can do that, too, so yes, GMs in some other games are very helpful.
Thats total BS!
No, it isn’t. Both types of incidents I mentioned have happened to me after RoI, and my overall experience in LOTRO has been that GMs are very helpful. Your experience is unfortunate, but it isn’t the same for everyone.
I use them for Maguuma since I can solo all the ones in Tyria.
In Maguuma, I can’t solo them all and I dislike waiting around for help.
If they do make HoT specific dailies, I hope having to do a Hero Challenge is one of them.
Then maybe more people will do them.
Oh, and another daily could be to get T4 in VB at night or wherever…
Riiight.
Verdint Brink, map breakout or intended?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Celtic Lady.3729
It’s not a map breakout because the canopy and the floor are just different levels of the same map. It’s not going into a different map or out of the one you’re in.
This is like the CoF farm. I don’t care if people do it or not.
It doesn’t change my life in any way if they do.

It would be nice if they made it so we can switch stats on trinkets the way we can on weapons and armor.
Then anything you can get a hold of would actually be useful.
I wish bag slots were account-wide so that for each one you bought, it counted for all characters on an account.
But…that’ll never happen. lol
I got around 10 levels a day running with the zerg in the Edge of the Mists in WvW once, but that takes some rather significant playing time and I used XP boosters besides.
It also gets boring, but you do get a nice amount of loot, too.
dear anet, pls b considerate to casual players

“Casual” is like the word “grind.”
Everyone has a different definition for it.
The devs were never looking at the “cost” of this method over the others, just the reliability of getting what you want.
The problem is, since RNG is involved in the process, there is no “reliability.”
More like the Anti Fun Club, amirite?
Depends on your definition of fun and I think it’s fairly obvious that most people in this thread aren’t characterizing JPs as fun.
So, no.
Sounds like someone wants to join the Anti JP Club.
Fixed that for you.
Its rather easy actually. Just taxi in people with the text “VB T4 attempt taxi, join and leave”.
It’s not easy, actually. Otherwise, I’d have seen it happen more than just 2 times in 3 weeks. I’ve played a lot since HoT. I don’t even know what the ratio is, but I must have seen this fail at least 20-25 times for every 1 that I’ve seen succeed.
On just about every map I’ve been on that failed, we also taxied people in, but it didn’t magically get us T4 at night.
At least with the old legendaries, we have a choice. We can still buy a precursor with gold if this route simply drives us crazy.
The new legendaries, though? Not so much.
Gotta go through the pain and cost or go without.
It’s gonna suck.
If the new legendaries also happen to require tons of ascended materials, demand for them will stay high and probably even rise. Crafting the oldschool precursors will only become more expensive.
The point is, if you don’t want to craft the older precursors, you don’t have to. You can always buy them with gold. But the new legendaries and their precursors are different. You won’t be able to buy any of it.
Until comes the 17th, then you’ll realize you need 100k Deldrimor to unlock the collection.
Wouldn’t surprise me.
And the forums will be filled with people screaming that they personally farmed the mats for their 100k Deldrimor ingots in only a couple of hours of casual play.
So anyone that comes on here to say they dislike the numbers, they’ll yell at them to L2P, noobz.
After all, the threads involving current precursor crafting are full of these guys.
How many giant eyes can you really get in an hour?
I got my bladed chest two days ago, and you know what? It felt like an accomplishment, and the people on my map really felt like allies rather than random other people running around chasing their own selfish goals. We were all chasing a shared goal, and play was much improved because of it. I was happy to see people run off a defense event to get supply. I was happy to see some people not go up to the boss event and stay on the ground to hold objectives. It felt like what I imagined the “movie version” of the pact war effort would look like and made playing there a lot more fun, even the ten or so times we failed.
Well, this is a nice little story, but I’ve only seen anything even remotely approaching this twice in three weeks.
Far more often, I’ve seen a lot of raging and the screaming of obsenities and blaming people in map chat after constant failures as people grow tired of doing the same thing over and over again only to fail…again.
That’s not really my definition of a healthy community.
Yeah, well, people lie on the internet all the time.
Oh no, you will have to play the new content, woe is me.
Buck up and do a bit of pve, it wont kill you.
Grinding the events over and over again, hoping they’ll reach t4 ain’t “a bit”
I see maps repeatedly failing to get T4, especially at night. So, this is probably going to take some time…

I’m not really sure which mats you’re talking about.
Ascended gear involves a wide variety of mats. Do you mean silk scraps, soft wood, or ectoplasms, etc? All those are used in making ascended items.
Definitely spend some time in the HoT maps.
If the boredom of doing the same few events in the same four maps doesn’t kill you, you’ll make some money.
It’s a forum.
People talk.
Telling them to stop doing it seems kinda stupid.
And in any case, no one is going to stop doing anything on one person’s say-so.
I don’t know what the Silverwastes are like these days since I haven’t run that area for money since before HoT.
But I have gotten some decent money from doing DEs in HoT maps. I feel like I have to stay in the area for hours before it really adds up, but at least I’m getting something.
I’ve gotten good money from running EOTM recently.
I make fairly decent money from the loot I get from PvP reward tracks.
Selling mats used for scribing and guild hall improvement in general seems to net some decent money, too.

Small guilds aren’t the only ones complaining about guild halls. Large guilds complain about them, too. Why?
Because some of the requirements really are annoying and because everyone knows that in any large group of people, a small minority do all the work and the larger majority does nothing.
So, what do they do? Complain about things because if only 10 people in a group of 100 are really contributing, then it feels like a small guild. Or they force a tax on their non-officer members and the members leave because they want to use their money and items to do other things. Then the large guilds come and complain on the forums or in-game chat about losing members.
Either way, both sides are doing their fair share of complaining.
I’m currently splitting my time between this game and LOTRO’s latest update since they had one about the same time as HoT.
I’m not a big fan of JPs, either. They don’t make me sick, but I just have no natural talent for them, so even ones considered moderate feel really hard to me.
I went on a JP jag for a while, mostly just to prove to myself I CAN do some of them, but they were the ones everyone says are easy, anyway, so…
Yeah, not a big fan.
I’d settle for a detailed "From this waypoint, you take this exact route to get to this POI/Vista/HC.
That would be very useful to me right now.
Seriously Anet, Do You Hate Us That Much?

Am I the only person that hates the pocket raptor herds?
Nope. I hate them, too.
There could be a lot less of them and it wouldn’t bother me a bit.

Sure, you can farm the thousands of ore you’ll need total to do this, but that’s likely all you’ll be doing for months or years depending on the play time you have available to you.
And, seriously, how much fun is that, anyway? Farming every single piece of ore to make every single ingot seems like a really impractical suggestion, considering how much of it we’re talking.
And is this for the entire precursor from start to finish or is this just T1 or T2 and there’s a lot more coming up?
Dry Top and Silverwastes are Maguuma maps. They may not be considered Magus Falls, but they’re still maps associated with Mordremoth’s story specifically.
Seems like a fair request to me.

Aside from the bugs, it is AWESOME! No, i am not being sarcastic. All the stuff it requires is easy to farm, and the ascended mats only take a few days to make. I LOVE that this is no longer gated behind a HUGE RNG barrer!
Thank you ANet! You rock!!!
Precursor crafting still involves a certain amount of RNG. Just sayin’.
It has a collection with scavenger hunt qualities, yeah, but it involves recipes, having a crafting profession nearly maxed out, and actually, you know, crafting items.
It’s crafting.
The crafting being in quotes would make sense if you could make one without a single crafting profession on any of your characters and everything was done via the MF.
But it’s not like that.
How on earth could a blue be anyone’s “finest treasure?”
It’s been 19 days.
No, the bugs aren’t all fixed, not even some of the major ones.
I just wonder in another 19 days which ones will be fixed, if any, or if they’re too busy rolling out raids to work on anything else.
Now that the dust has settled.... Masteries
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Celtic Lady.3729
Yeah, if I could simply bypass certain masteries and only level what I want, I’d have a lot more of them right now.
Whenever I go on the forums, I find so many complaints about all the bad things in this game.
Things like:
• The way of ’’crafting’’ your precursor.
So, why is crafting in quotes? Do you think there’s a more accurate word for it than crafting?
Or do you think being able to craft them is a lie and we’re all hallucinating about it?
Well, I haven’t done it myself yet, haven’t looked much at it. I wasn’t sure that it really is crafting, thought that it went more through achievments, but guess that’s not the case. Guess you do the achievments in order to unlock the recipes and then you craft.
Yeah, that’s what it is…
I get why they did the dungeon nerfs (sort of), but the fractal nerfs had no real reason behind them that I have ever seen stated.

So, if precursor crafting was not meant to eliminate RNG and it wasn’t meant to be cheaper or easier, then what exactly is the point of them having gone to all this work of making them craftable?
I am really confused.
gold is coming in faster than I can spend it
Of course, this all depends on what you want to spend it on. If you only want to buy a couple of inexpensive items now and again, then yeah, there’s plenty.
But most people are not making money “faster than they can spend it.” lol
I just hope there are actually decent rewards since none of their other group content has any worth mentioning.
6. Extreme time requirments, even for good play and good coordinated groups.
They MUST not take more than 2h to complete.
I don’t have any hope for this since we spent 10 hours in Beta fighting 1 boss and still couldn’t take him down.
Masteries don’t feel grindy to me in regular Tyria because there are so many different maps and DEs I can do to advance them. So many different environments.
Maguuma masteries are a different story altogether. With only 4 maps to choose from and the few DEs and a meta that usually fails on each, it feels like grinding the exact same thing over and over again.
10 chests isn’t enough. You have to buy, like, 100 of them to get a few good items.
Don’t forget that many of the collections have RNG burned into them too.
This is definitely one of the most frustrating aspects of precursor crafting for me. The RNG walls are still there smacking me in the face, so no, it’s not a non-RNG way of getting precursors.
