10/20/20/0/20 Staff / Sceptre+Dagger
Consume / S. Walk / Epidemic / Signet of Spite / Plague
+%50 condi duration & +100% fear duration
Is this a solid build (for whatever part of the game) or am I missing something obvious?
I use the same build but end up with near 400 more power, thoughts?
Looking for the Axe-Deathly Perception build that works in WvW:

How about building condi around Weakness?
Gear and trait wise, all rabid, carrion or a mix? Traits?
You do a fantastic job and abuse terrain to the max but I just feel sad that warrior is in this state, Anet really needs to improve class survivability.
After Sarlack posted his Cleric Power build I was sold but since then I found a sweat spot healing wise with +5xx and messed around with various builds to settle on a mix of Cleric/Knight/Soldier.

The mitigation is massive, I can take silly risks and goof around with various weapon sets just for fun. The damage is ‘good’ and requires you to get the other guy to waste his dodge which won’t happen against a good player so the fight drags on…and if your facing some one in WvW who can use terrain well, just leave lolz
Against the bug burst builds heal early, no excuse not too using TU.

doenst natural vigor already cap the endurence regeneration ?
Not sure if it can be caped, I dodge lots going in and out of melee frequently.
This is a build I experimented with before and it’s pretty interesting. You use GS / Rifle with Bull’s Rush, Bolas and Ignore Pain. I don’t recall the exact traits but it had Leg Specialist in it and then just Rifle/GS damage/CD traits. You also want 20 points in Discipline for Mobile Strikes.
The idea behind the build and why I liked it was that you tried to play the role that put your opponent in a tough spot. So lets say you were facing a melee thief or a D/D Ele or a Guardian, you would try and use your build to play from range as much as you can and do damage with your rifle. When they got close to you, you can Bull’s Charge into 100B and then WW through them, rush away and get back to your rifle.
At the same time, if you meet a profession that wants to play from range, you make up for the damage loss when you’re not in melee by doing damage with your rifle, while trying to catch up to them.
With Leg Specialist you’re able to always land your Bolas and Bull’s Rush. It’s a 1v1 build as I’m sure you’re able to tell, but it’s a pretty fun and creative one.
Hope this helps, good luck!
That sounds solid but can any one else vouch for it?
Is this the build?
(edited by Cempa.5619)
So why use it or how to use it? A way to kite?
…other than sniper that is which we have loads of vids showing the near 20k burst! Some shared that Rifle is what GS Warriors use when they don’t want to melee, is that accurate?
((
Goog build, but poor in damages and conditions…
))
+1179 Condi
+55% Bleed duration
+1585 Power on a condi build
You want WvW stats in sPvP?
If you enjoy glass cannon cannon more power to ya brother.
ok so basically drop 3k HP and gain 40% crit and 40% crit damage, but 7x% crit unbuffed is over kill, don’t you think?
I noticed in the last builder I used (intothemist.com) Dolyak Signet did not increase my Toughness at all, I thought the formula was 2*(10 x level)? so 160 Toughness. So 1550 but what is a good way of adding def?
Enduring Pain is a great utility but which signet to lose?
OR
lose crit dmg and get toughness instead (but without sources of regen what use is the extra 200 or 300 armour?)?
My worry is rifle without crit dmg cant finish off any decent build right? I guess thats when I drop to GS and try to 100b them?
The 5 points in Adrenal Health are they wasted there?
Edit: What off weapon-set would you recommend? Sword + Shield?
Here is a more defensive build that added points to buff burst dmg:
Add to that 180 toughness from Dolyak which is bugged on builder.
Also when I drop to Sword and Board toughness (/w Dolyak is near 2k). How about now?
1) Do I have the damage?
2) Do I have the mitigation?
I know this is not a regeneration power ranger and never can be but hoping this build can take on at the very least Thief’s solo roaming?
(edited by Cempa.5619)
1) Fix OBSTRUCTED bug.
2) Remove range penalty on damage
3) Increase projectile speed
4) Increase damage gained per point of power
5) Make its arrow pierce and bounce
Just make an immortal regen ranger, look for the build, the survivality of that thing is really broken, warrior is not a good choice for survivality.
Thats my main build, thing is no build can bring me down 1v1!
Thanks, changed it up thoughts?
With -93% condition duration to self and seeing how meta is so condition heavy is that not massive mitigation?
Guys even if you accept the 115-120 ticks did no one else notice his HP hardly dropping even when he faced tanked the other guy?
Hax?
I see you getting hit but your HP hardly moves…errr whats up?
After the signet buff/changes, being a WvW player who likes to be a bit ‘beefy’ but able to do good damage, I was looking at a x5 signet build and wanted to ask what you guys think?
-93% Condition to sel
+2261 Power
50% Crit
50% Crit dmg
1528 Toughness
+569 healing
Any ranger that loses to a necro needs to examine her build and play style, I guess I had havoc groups in mind.
1 boon corrupt remove and then what?
1) What is that rifle skin?
2) What about a rifle build with more mitigation?
Here is crazy survivability with solid damage:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/WvW-Power-House-Ranger/first#post2352394
Its a power build BUT has 5xx healing and keeps regen up with good life force.
I get your Final Fantasy feed :/
8 min video where you killed 2 people, died once yourself and ran from every 1v2, doesn’t exactly showcase you being unstoppable with mobile strikes and lyssa runes. The greenie/lowbie even traded blows with you with him jumping off the cliff while you were both at around 60%. Cool jumping puzzle skills though.
The point was to abuse terrain whenever you feel threatened. Good luck otherwise.
…sure but don’t you think that game design that requires terrain for a class to be competitive may need a look? I mean you and Osicat must be the best two players that I have seen videos of when it comes to using terrain during combat, YOU would die without using terrain right?
What about my Power/Regeneration Ranger, I can play with terrain using my GS or stand all day in the wide open since I am in no way even remotely worried about terrain!
Hi,
Was wondering what you guys think of going all out and trying to max out endurance regeneration with blood-mark on dodge?
Since I play mostly WvW and seeing how so much cleansing is around I opted to go for condition intensity rather than duration and since I enjoy solo/havoc wanted a solid build that would allow me to roam -yes I know I should use my ranger for that- and solo upgraded camps.
What do you guys think of this LB build:
Never mind your build is better, but why poison?
(edited by Cempa.5619)
So 0/0/20/20/30? Stat distribution? How much condo and power would you aim for?
Or:
(edited by Cempa.5619)
What about a high endurance condi build that stacks Might?
I saw it but still don’t believe it! Other than the last mesmer you fought -the one who just about insta died- you played against really good players they look like top class tourny players…I loved how the Guardian changed his spec -I think- and went sceptre burst and just blew you up! hehe
In any case, will you be sharing how you gear?
Dont you get the sam boon duration from x4 Altruism and x2 Water/Monk
OR turrets are attached to the Engineer not fixed to the ground!
Hi,
I like your video, was really fun and I hope you don’t mind me sharing something that to me is crystal clear: You outplay your opponent and sometimes by such a huge margin! You are really good at your class and I fear some will copy your build and get owned and wonder why!
Hi,
I enjoy to roam / havoc most in WvW and accept the inevitability of a zerg as a distant third. The idea is producing a power build that puts out good damage and can solo upgraded camps and hunt down supplies even if they have a couple of players guarding them.
Asking for help on how to improve the build:
(edited by Cempa.5619)
Great stuff! What are your thoughts on Staff / Axe+Focus for a power build?
I think staff would be better for larger scale fights while dagger might be better for smaller scale fights. I was planning on going with staff originally and use the 10 points to get larger marks, but decided on playing dagger instead.
I’ve used staff as power before in some of my older movies. I think its viable, just a matter of preference. Staff would be a bit “safer” to play in larger scale fights, you have to put yourself at considerable risk to damage with dagger in those kinds of fights.
I think I’ll go ahead and play staff/axe/focus some though. In theory, it should play well if you pre-kite and kite to keep good positioning and range.
Hi,
I saw the clip it was one of the reasons I decided to level another necro!
Here is a Staff/Axe+Focus build, could you share what you think?
What are your thoughts of a Necro power build with about +5xx healing with regeneration rune?
(edited by Cempa.5619)
Damage is being nurfed
Para Sigil will no longer work with fear
but…
The Runes that reduce stun and fear will not be changed.
In the way that Anet do stuff, fear will be nurfed to the ever beyond…
If I was said warrior I’d run something like this:
Your bow is what you’ll be using most of the time so I feel I can afford To be more damage oriented. It’s a decent build to be sure, but I’ve never been a fan of people refusing to share builds, especially since it isn’t like it’s that hard to figure out if you’ve ever done Warrior theorycrafting.
Thats a really good looking build, thanks. The crit and crit dmg with 23xx power /w food and 16xx toughness but 18khp is high, I imagine that setup would put a world of hurt pretty quick like.
I came across a LB warrior in WvW who seemed to be doing well but refused to share his build, he said Anet will nurf the build…
I tried to guess his build from watching him play but not sure:
I think its by design since WoW pets are perfect at what they are meant to be (a DoT with utility) Anet phobia of anything Blizzard designed made them come up with this silly concept….
Great stuff! What are your thoughts on Staff / Axe+Focus for a power build?
(edited by Cempa.5619)
I have 2800 toughness. Pretty decent. I do the eating in these parts lol. With longbow the pressure is up constatly so no. Havent had any problems. Rifle is different. You cant keep up with rifle because its easy to predict and cant even use kill shot solo.
2800? How on earth would you have anything above 12xx Toughness with Rampager and Berserker gear? None of those has any Toughness!
Please show me: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
thx
(edited by Cempa.5619)
There is no free lunch and adding one stat means less of something else, crit and crit damage is bursty but it meant, for me, sacrificing survivability which defeats the build purpose.
The build is designed to withstand condition and burst roamers, something I have never been able to do with any other class it was always either or. Like I said much of the work was already done by Sarlack who I saw his videos posted here on the forums and went from there and tested various concepts such as GS and Axe+WH and different pet combination.
My measures are:
1) Against all kinds of thief [CHECK]
2) P/P HGH Engineer [CHECK]
3) D/D Elemental [CHECK]
4) Good mesmer will always be trouble.
Power Rangers who do not have my healing/regeneration burst me hard indeed but never have enough to finish me off and neither do the new FOTM 30/30/10 necros, they always fall short at the last 25%.
(edited by Cempa.5619)
What I learned from this video is memser is OP! lol /kidding
