Time for an update, the latest pics were from January 2013, haha!

First one is my Condi-oufit and 2nd is my Power-outfit.

This is my oldest character (but not my first) and she’s almost 3 years old. Now she was always an Acolyte of Grenth, but now I feel it’s time to go a step further towards Grenth: becoming a Priestess of Grenth.

With HoT in mind, everybody will be wearing blindfolds (silly Revenants), so I thought I should also upgrade my looks, but how…. I maybe thought of using the Glowing Green Mask as an ultimate reward for sacrificing my sight for Grenth (hence the blindfold, been doing this waay before the Revs #HipsterNecro) and maybe some shoulder upgrades… but those Deathly shoulderpads are so expensive :o

Any suggestions?

I’m going to try out swinging a GS on my Necro for sure! And I’ll see how it’ll do in PvE (I only PvE).

Though it’ll be hard to lay down my mainhand Dagger, haha.

For PvE, better to go for Scholar, much cheaper than Strength ^^

Nice to see that GS might be a thing in PvE (being a PvE’er myself), but I’m afraid I’m too hooked on my Dagger in mainhand… will I ever let go?

Sweet Agony [SwAg] was the latest attempt at making a Necro-guild. Was made as a reaction to the just revealed Revenant, but it isn’t that active anymore. But I think it’ll revive again when the multi-guild thingy comes out.

Howler used to be very awesome, but then they removed some amazing effects on it a long time ago (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Howler, see Trivia)

I only PUG CoF and/or AC. The other ones I do with my guild, so there’s always been acceptance ^^

For World PvE, anything works actually. For solo Dungeons… my guess it’ll be some Powerbuild.

I play PvE and I made the switch to Well of Blood. Love it with the Vamperic Rituals trait ^^

It’s because of this change, I’m using Wells again. Maybe there should be an option you can toggle between the old and new system.

I like it, but I noticed my playstyle has changed because of the patch. Before the patch, I would be swapping a lot between my weapons. But now, I stay in D/WH a lot and I only go to Scepter/D if it’s against a (long) boss fight, where I can build up my rotation or when I have to go ranged for some reason (like melee being too dangerous/not viable)

Very dark to think Eir died… I think she survived, but that she went Druid (I think most characters will go to the ‘next’ level of their profession) and that she’s going full Staff now.
She reconnected with her son and also with these dire times, she wants to bond again and giving her legendary bow to her own son must mean a lot for him and Eir.

Well… during the Revenant-reveal, there was an “Anti-Rev movement” called ‘Sweet Agony [SwAg]. But I don’t think it’s that active anymore.

It’s very alike to the ‘A Stab in the Dark’-build made by Bacon, like I mentioned ealier.

This is my basic loadout when doing Dungeons. So far everything goes fine, but I still need the time to fully explore everything.

When I’m just doing World Events (and being very lazy, semi-afkish), I switch Blood Bond to Quickening Thirst and/or Vamperic Presence to Banshee’s Wail.

Sinister Exotic weapons & gear (Aristocracy runes) + Sinister Ascended backpiece/trinkets/rings/amulet and I have 2k Condi. Though I still have a Sigil of Bursting equiped, but still.

@Bacon: my current build looks almost the same as yours (and I like it so far in PvE), tho I’m using full Sinister. Still have to check it out with my Zerker gear ^^

I’m using PvE Hybridmancer (using full Sinister, Dagger/WH & Scepter/Dagger), and I’ve been messing around with looking for an ideal build with my gear as well.

Soul Reaping doesn’t to the trick anymore for me and I went for Blood Magic instead, so I’m Spite/Curses/BM atm. Still, it’s a challenging opportunity and I’ll see how being a Hybrid goes off with all the new changes.

Should it all fail, I can still fall back on my Zerker or Rabid gear.

Been waiting through a couple of nights and nothing. So it really is bugged I guess.

Well… the update is very overwhelming for me. Will take a while to get used to the new system and to see how this all affects my current PvE-build.

I took my time to read about all the changes, but I’m kinda lost on where I should go now with my Necro. Got full Sinister gear, but also Zerker (and Rabid for WvW fun times), but my focus is mainly on PvE.

I got a feeling my playstyle will have to change if I want keep on playing with my Necro. Hmm.

What do you mean by that? That we, the player in general, lack the ability to be a decent condimancer with the future changes?

So I’ve recently returned from a 5 months break and I noticed all these upcoming changes and it’s kinda overwhelming to put everything at place.

Will we still be able to do something useful (cough, you know what I mean…) at some extent? I know Necros aren’t that welcome in Dungeons, but I’m lucky to be in a guild where you can play whatever you want, hurray!
Will these builds be broken that it won’t be enjoyable enough to continue play Condi-/Hybridmancer? Will we be all forced to go to a certain direction? Like when HoT comes out… do you have to go Reaper or play an other profession?

I know the answers will be kinda heavy speculations, but I want to have a little idea of what my options are at the moment towards the release of HoT.

I do like the Shadow Scepter and Dagger, but I’ve fallen in love with the Lidless Eye (and I want to upgrade it in the near future)…
But hmm.. that GS doesn’t look that bad either…

shadow scepter and dagger look nice, but the gs is like 33% hilt. Not too hot on it.

Having tested the skin on my Ranger, it actually looks better when wielded. The preview doesn’t do it justice.

You can also wield the weapon in preview, or do you mean there’s a difference in looks between the preview-window and in-game?

I’ll only make a Rev if we get an extra character slot, to see what the class is all about and only after I have explored HoT with my Necro ^^

In PvE I’m running Aristocracy (Condi/Hybrid gear) and Eagles (Power gear). In WvW I only have Krait atm (Condi gear, roaming), but maybe I’ll go to Nightmare or Pack later.

We’ve heard the name ages ago, and learned a small bit more through the revealing of the new mastery information, but now we finally got a face to the lil’ buggers. Gotta say, I was expecting another Hylek recolor but found myself surprised that there is distinct differences in facial features between them. Can’t wait to learn more about em.
