Yeah it’s only like 2-3 times bigger than your character, makes perfect sense.

It’s not supposed to make sense, it’s supposed to be a nod to horror movies. Think Pyramid Head and his giant sword

it works with a sword.. not so much with a scythe it just looks awkward

we dont know what thieves get for elite spec yet.. so perhaps wait a little first.
but whatever it is will probably have to replace shortbow so probably means less mobility if they wanna use it.

What I take away from all of these updates is that Arenanet really cares. They want to make all the professions fun to play and allow all professions to be played in different ways. They aren’t trying to make every profession do everything, and they are trying to keep the flavor for each profession.

It looks like a ton of hard work. I really appreciate it. And I know my son is excited to try out the new specializations. Thanks very much, Robert!

yeah i agree. i hate when they do that in other games.. you basically play the same class no matter what you roll.

I’m indeed satisfied with the way the moves look, but after reading that they’re all gonna be slow makes me think that the answer to beating the Reaper is what players have always been doing to threatening necro’s—focus em down or cc/stun lock them into oblivion. This new melee deathshroud concept however opens up a few possibilities if ya think about it. Add some toughness while in DS with certain traits, regenerate health while in DS, will that healing lifeblast trait still be there and how will it affect the Reaper’s DS auto? All i know is, I’mma test out the Reaper spec in as many ways as i can think of. (I already got a dope GS skin just waiting ^^ )

what skin might that be? already drooling over various GS skin what to choose? what to choose?

Sounds like you have very little self confidence. Just go in there and try it. You can always buy the paths if you rather do something else.

a bit perhaps.. i’m new to the game and it’s non trinity way so not sure how dungeons and stuff work in gw2. if it requires tons of preparation and like a hardcore raiding mentality then i probably wont ever do it.. that’s why i was asking.. the skin just looks so kitten kitten i got to have it xD

i think fear should work more like a stun.. not everyone who is afraid runs away some get so scared they cant even move :P

hello, after looking at various light armor gear i came across the Arah dungeon set and i feel i just got to have this on my necro so now i’m here to find out if it’s possible.. or is it one of those stupid hard things that i should just give up on?

yeah i know i just meant to say that life steal as it is can get pretty potent.. you just have to sacrifice all other areas to get it there which probably is a good thing.

you can already do pretty decent vampiric builds

check that he got some pretty crazy lifestealing going on

how about carrion? i see that it got both power and condi damage on it.. i could maybe go for skale venom and spider venom.. it doesn’t have to be a full on condi build but i want them to be at least noticeable while running with daggers.

does d/d work? i like dual daggers and shortbow but p/d seems like the better choice.. i dont really like p/d though so am hoping i could get some input from you guys on what to do.

i intend to do mostly roaming and i prefer dots over high burst damage.

i’m under the impression that they take something from one of the other professions so what do we have left? guardians got theirs from rangers and mesmers necros right?

anything cool from the remaining ones? i’m still new so dont know that much bout the other professions yet.

thief is already extremely mobile so i can see them adding some long ranged more stationary sniper like thing. combined with stealth i think it could be pretty cool

weird name for a guardian specialization.. sounds more like something meant for rangers or even warriors..

hey so i decided that dual wielding is what i like the most and i’m running with 2 swords and 2 axes.. now i’m trying to figure out where what traits to use and such to be viable in WvW.. this is what i’ve come up with so far

any thoughts? i’m not 80 yet so i’m just toying around at that site looking at traits when i’m not in game.

if you use 2handers they both feel pretty much the same from what i’ve experienced
i was leaning more towards the Guardian but then i tried swinging 2 axes on the Warrior and i was hooked

i’m new aswell but i can survive most things i’ve encountered so far (level 43)
i use 2 daggers as my main weapons.. with them i let autoattack do most of the work and hit 3 to dodge stuff.. sometimes i switch to a pistol in my offhand and facetank with number 5 and autoattack. you can also gain stealth by hitting 5 and then 2 if you should find yourself in trouble.(dagger/pistol)

secondary weapon i mostly run with short bow for faster travel and ranged attacks.

lets put it like this.. first char in game was a warrior i was having fun killing stuff then a thief came along and did his thing and i was like “yup” and here i am

i’d be happy with no new weapons and just the ability to drops traps as i please(no cd)

If you are using sword/axe + greatsword you could for example:

1. Start with GS 5 “Rush”.
2. Do GS 2 “100b”.
3. Do GS 3 “WW”
4. Do GS 4 “Toss GS”
5. Swap weapons.
6. Do Sword 2 “leap”
7. Do Axe 4 “Fury Axe”
8. Do Axe 5 “Spin FTW”
9. Do Sword 3 “Final thrust”
10. Do 3x sword 1.
11. Swap.
12. 100b
13. WW
14. Toss GS
15. Rush

Main idea is to make sure that you use every awesome skill as often as possible. It is so much faster to kill a dude with skills like 100b than it is with Basic attack.

Try out every weapon available, but I’d recommend Axe/axe or Greatsword + Rifle or Longbow, quite comfortable for pve. Also, buy a “Minor Sigil of Bloodlust and Minor Sigil of Fire” for your weapons, they will help with killing stuff more easily.

where do i find these sigils?

how important is this thing? i’m closing in on level 20 now and i haven’t been able to progress on this quest or whatever it’s supposed to be :P
