Necro needs 5+ to shine? Really? I think YOU need to L2P and try different builds with one. I can solo run with a necro all day long sir, can even well bomb multiple guardians down in a matter of seconds. Boon strip/Boon conversion + over 10k well dmg+ fear/locks + 6k dagger crits = death. See the worst part about this is, my main isn’t even a mesmer yet I’m still defending the cause because it’s THAT bad.

No, they can’t. Learn math before commenting because PRE Mug nerf their maximum output on the standard d/p spike rotation was ~24k, post nerf its not even remotely close to that (its roughly 10k less damage).
Also: What are cantrips? Use them.
Well on one of my characters I have witnessed this after the nerf. Thief out of stealth backstabs then stunlocked me, killed me and disappeared in about 2-3 seconds when I had over 20k hp. And I have seen the same when thief was on my team. So maybe you should learn to play aswell? Maybe only good thieves can pull it off I don’t know.
You got stunlocked and sat there for 2-3 seconds eating the damage without doing anything? Sounds like l2p problems to me.
Umm sat there? If you are stunlocked/immobilized and a necro and death shroud on cooldown, you cant teleport/stealth away because well necros don’t have that. You must be so amazing though, you should show me how it’s done sir.

Zastari maybe another way to look at the confusion build would be add some kind of “trait” needed to increase confusion dmg 50% so it can’t be used with every mesmer build.

Again, read my post. Maybe limit it to certain amount of people at a time. Or make it not trigger on certain skills like healing. Sure 10-20 even 25% nerf is “ok” but 50%? Seriously? I ask for 50% damage deduction on other classes aswell then. Mesmers were not that bad when I was against them so I don’t know why you are complaining. I could complain about whatever class you have aswell, each class has its own perk over the others. But now it seems all classes are just basically dagger or sword melee zerk builds because anything else is just useless.

Why not limit it to 2/3 people per shatter, and/or make confusion not trigger when using healing/blink/stealth skills. It’s not very hard to balance it properly. Why dont they just deduct 50% damage in WvW from thieves/warriors/guardians/ele to even it out while they are at it lmfao.

^ +1 again. Very true and I’m still shocked that they nerfed confusion to be honest. Everyone says that the class they don’t use is OP. rmBossa and the warrior skills in group play are not OP? Or how about the invincible ele. Every class has an OP skill/ability thats what makes each class unique. If we keep getting nerfs everyone will eventually be the same class with different looks. Basically condition in general now is 100% useless, bleeds suck, confusion sucks , so everyone has to basically melee now. Necros use daggers if they are any good, eles use melee weapons aswell, guardians/warriors melee, rangers I’m not sure about, thieves etc. I don’t understand why I am forced to melee for any type of decent damage with casting classes. That was the selling point for me to use mesmer, the confusion condition build which was decent distance, but now I’m forced into melee play to be of any use. No other MMO is like that.

Ele needs a nerf before necro, a light armored squishy ele shouldn’t tank better then a guardian. Everyone says necro is bad, but they don’t know how to play/spec it properly. Condition necro is bad yes. The only class I have an issue with is a bunker build ele and a good thief. Necro doesn’t need a nerf, other classes before it need a nerf but I would say it is top 3 class for PVP. Maybe instead of “nerfing” we could “tweak” how certain things work. Such as confusion with mesmer, instead of nerfing damage don’t allow it to work with certain spells etc.

Before: 1# Thief (as always) #2 Mesmer (glamour builds) #3 Elementallist (superior AoE)
After: 1# Thief (still haven’t nerfed heartseeker -.- ) #2 Guardian (superior healing) #3 Mesmer (badly nerfed)
Why it changed:
Thieves are still overpowered and will stay because they denny that heartseeker spammers are completely easy to counter (steal- 3k heartseeker- 3k, 4k, 6k, 6k), apparently isnt overpowered. The steal nerf was good, but that other skills are far too powerful. Cloak and Dagger should have a nerf too, its a source of stealth, enemy vulnerability, AND deals 6k damage on crits.
Mesmers had a HUGE nerf which ruined every confusion build as of its damage is crap now, losing their zerg popularity.
Elementallist had a HUGE nerf as well which stuff RTL up for zerg travel, and skills while in mist form and many other things.

Tots you do realize that the damage you hit is very crappy right? My necro hits 1-3k auto attacks first two hits,4-6k on 3rd dagger strike. 20k dmg aoe well bombs. Endless amounts of HP. So what you said just backs my argument. And caveth, thieves have stealth/aoe stealth very powerful cluster bomb damage with medium armor and insaine speed. You are basically saying a moa bird and portal is worth no damage. Well then ill exchange my port/moa for damage please, plus mesmers are the slowest running class aswell.

Technically a necro could fear someone for at least 6 seconds by using 2 skills. How is that any different that confusion.
Same thing really, if you are feared for 6 seconds you will still get killed because you can not attack. Which is the same as confusion, can’t attack either die if you do or get killed. But wait.. Lets nerf mesmers.. Because the eles that can tank better then a guardian/warrior is completely normal for light armor.

It seems what ever updates happened in the latest patch has killed mesmer… I notice a huge damage decrease, having a very hard time doing any decent shatter damage now. Confusion nerf wasn’t really needed, could have just allowed blink/stealth/heals to not be affected by confusion instead. Not fair when other classes warriors/necros can do 20k+ aoe DMG in seconds, thieves can do 20-30k+ dmg single target then disappear in seconds. Yet mesmers get the nerf. What’s next? Mesmer will be limited to two illusions? Guess it is time to roll another class.

My client keeps crashing at random times in WvW, and it only seems to happen in the Eternal Borderlands. I have had really big battles in other borderlands and never crashed so I don’t think it’s related to numbers. I’m hoping some patches will fix this soon, I have been reporting them for over a month and still no fix yet. And no I’m not the only one with this issue.

I have tried to search forums for this question but I haven’t seen anything related to this. I know diminishing returns kicks in after farming the same mob for an extended period of time. But does this just effect fine items and higher or does it also effect bag drops? Such as heavy loot bags.

one neat thing they could do in my opinion, is create a special “pvp world” that you could guest on, but not transfer or start on
these worlds would have open pvp similar to the one found in wvw, however, you’d be able to attack everyone on the world, not just people from other servers
The mechanics of the world would have to be rewritten to change it from a cooperative game to a hostile game. Now when you realize that ANet wouldn’t even agree to an “official” RP server because they weren’t prepared to spend the resources to support it, exactly what are the odds they are going to actually redesign their game to allow for one, single official PvP server?

Okay! So in response to those claiming open world PvP is what the majority wants, heres some actual data. This is the WoW server populations as of right now and it does not look good in your favour…

TOTAL: 108PvP (Open World PvP + Instanced Pvp)

TOTAL: 95So not only are there more PvE servers than PvP servers, but a notable number of the PvE servers have a higher population than PvP; while there are obviously still a good number of PvP players, the PvE players very much outnumber them.
Just to assign a little metric to them, if you assume a new/low pop server is worth 1, medium 2, high 3 and full 4 points, you’d get:
PvE: 1 + 192 + 27 + 8 = 228
PvP: 48 + 70 + 24 + 16 = 158So, do tell me about the majority wanting open world PvP again :>
How does this not look good in my favor? It looks fantastic, 40% is a substantial number thank you for backing me up. This means Arena net is losing out on 40% of the market. I’m also sure if you retest the #s at different times PVP is higher then PVE. I do not understand how you are justifying this because I’m asking for separate PVP servers to be opened not forcing all PVE players to convert.

Those people usually wait, until their victim is engaged in combat and than jump him.If you have spend time on a WoW PvP Server in the days when you couldn’t visit certain instances as they were camped by complete raids, slaughtering everything in side, rogues spawn camping other players at the graveyard till they logged off or played a full loot game you know what kind of community such an environment usually breeds.
If thats what anyone wants, those people should search the adequate game- they are out there, but they are not anywhere as popular as the games where people play in what some name “carebearer” mode. That alone should be a clear sign, what the majority enjoys.Honestly I like when I’m attacked by a person around my level because it takes more skill 1 on 1 then WvW. Nope you don’t. What you describe is a duel.
That is not what is happening at open world PvP and has nothing to do with “carebears” but wannabes who get their kicks of ganking and griefing and only attacking when they KNOW that the odds are wastly in their favor. Usually the people who fail against even odds.
THAT is the majority of the people who play open world pvp- they don’t do it for the challenge or anything but to grief others. Take a look at a random PvP Server WoW Forum and you’ll see the threads that are up there and what character the people display.
And if you (like me) have played a few years on a PvP server you probably know the tone thats in the chat in the zones.
Again I understand your point of view, but PVP servers should still be an option. Open PVP brings more action, more excitement, and yes of course frustration. But I would rather be frustrated and trying to fight back, maybe get some guild members involved etc, then running around looking for things to do or relying on WvW which gets boring. The most fun in PVP I have had was open world, one guy gets griefed then brings his entire guild into play. Then the others do the same, it becomes “Guild wars” in an open field that isn’t structured and not knowing what to expect.

It confuses me why PvE only players would have anything against the existence of a type of server where they wouldn’t have to play. It wouldn’t affect you in the slightest.

And the old “there’s games already out there that cater for your particular play style”…. There’s games out there that have working LFG tools, that have working Guild UI interfaces, that have dungeons where the norm is to play the encounters and not to exploit them, should we all migrate en mass to those games as well?It confuses me why some people actually seem to believe that running 2 completely different rulesets on servers that just look alike is as easy as flicking a switch?
Ressources spent on developing a niche feature = Less ressources for the rest of us = It affects us!
Worst of all is that if Anet actually listened to the small open world PvP minority and redesigned lore and environments to cater for those special needs we would soon see that community DEMAND higher/different rewards “because PvP-servers involve higher risk”. (Have seen this happen quite a few times once people on PvP servers realize that the PvE servers are thriving while the PvP servers slowly die.)
But yes: If people define a functional game by having LFG/trinity/specific guild UI, they might as well look at some of the games that already have those features.
That is quite a bit besides the point though, because what you mention is mostly support/UI features. Open world PvP is a complete rewrite!
I understand it would take extra work. And if that’s the problem charge us to play on the PVP servers. I honestly wouldn’t mind paying 5-10 a month or a one time payment to get onto an open PVP server.

In gaming’s 15+ year history:
Consensual open world pvp and guild vs guild has been the most fun and popular with the majority. Or at least a separate server for it. I prefer the original concept. In my opinion, GW2 pvp using a strictly game controlled instanced scenario based gameplay is not as fun as open world player controlled.
But i do not think Anet will ever change their design of pvp/WvW, because its been a main feature of gw1 and gw2.
