Just because infused back piece is now available outside of fractals doesn’t mean agony is coming. You can get MF infused into the piece, im sure other damage + stuff aswell in future.

Only the person carrying the crab should be targeted. There’s currently an issue where if you ever held the crab you will forever be a target. This should be fixed soon and it will make the game a lot easier to play.
Yes I noticed this a few times.

The DR should NOT Exist in an event like this, specially when the chest rate for any decent items IN THE CHEST is 0.001%. So like a 0.01% chest drop rate with a 0.001% skin rate, GG!
So even when I get a chest, It will be like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILwZuO8fWpM

I’m more amazed at how anet has had no issues with gambling laws. Call it a gear/gold sink if you will, but throw in the ability to use real money to purchase items and gold, add all the underage players and we’re gonna have a brand new generation of gambling addicts by next patch.
Lmfao +1, have to love legal loopholes

7 hours 400%+ MF 0 crates still, and doing events/vet farming.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Farmed 5+ hours 0 crates 420% mf
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Don’t expect to get anything good. I went last evening for 4 hours with 346% and only got 3 crates.
Edit: Other players are estimating a drop rate of tickets being less then one percent. Don’t bother with the black lion toilet, you will never get a ticket.
I went 5 hours last night with 420% and got 0 crates
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
I wish a dev could answer if vets have a better drop rate for crates than regular mobs.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Hello
I know the drop rate of the crate is very low, I haven’t received one and have had 420% MF for a few hours. Anyways this isn’t my issue, my issue is someone was saying even if you get the crate the chances for a weapon skin is ridiculously low. Someone told me they bought 50 crates, not one weapon skin.

I’m amazed at these threads. . . I really am. Turn off all the names of NPCs and enemies, leave only player names, real Mesmer has a name over his head (when not directly in the center of your screen, or already targeting a clone) and guess what, the clones don’t have that name.
The real one has a name!
Funky. . . if you act like a clone it only works against people who don’t do what I’ve shown. No I more often lose players when they stealth and have problems with my tab targeting than I do with noticing which one is the real one and I’m pretty sure that’s probably true of most players.
Exactly, just turn off enemy names and clones are useless anyways lol.

… made it difficult to tell friend from foe?
For example, what if all names and health bars turned red for a player under confusion, so they don’t know who is the real enemy?
What if a confused player ran the risk of doing damage to their allies, not just themselves? Say 4% damage per stack of confusion?
It could be chance based, on attack. What if this effect scaled up with the number of stacks of confusion? For each stack => one additional friend “becomes” a foe.
What if mesmers gained a different unique condition/ability, opposite to the above that made all enemies appear as allies, and all attacks do reduced/no damage? What if this could be an AoE that affects enemy and ally alike, so in effect no one can harm each other for the duration (or do reduced damage per stack)?
Edit 2: I’d use that as an elite.Overpowered? What do you think?
(Edit: most relevant analogy are the pacify/frenzy skills from skyrim)
Wow this is actually a cool idea for confusion or some other type of elite skill, take out damage to oneself and turn everyone into an “enemy”. But of course would need damage limits or something so 1 warrior doesn’t wipe 20 people out haha.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Maybe put a 5/10 second delay on auto attack. I was in EB last night and we had 10+ ACs going at SM, a zerg of about 60-80 rushed in and we held them back with only 10 players defending outside keep and 10 manning ACs. Makes it fun when you are defending

Casual / hardcore has nothing to do with how much time you spend on the game, but how you use the time you do spend online.
Bingo couldn’t have said it better myself.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
you clowns act like the shatter confusion build is the only mesmer build ever. ridiculous.
Only viable WvW build in larger battles is/was the confusion build. Small battles other builds still work but that isn’t the point. Hell I would be happy with a 25% nerf even instead of a confusion “fix”.

I have a question for those that are against people using magic find gear in a dungeon setting. Let us assume that you were the only person out of 5 not wearing magic find gear, the other 4 were. Would you still accuse the other 4 of not doing their fair share? How do you determine what is a fair share anyways? That part is highly subjective. Is it by DPS only? Perhaps whoever survives the longest?
I ask this as we had a group of 5 not 3 days ago running the Living Story dungeon. On the final 2 bosses we wiped the first two times until we figured out the patterns and on our last attempt we succeeded. The ironic thing is the one person that survived long enough to rez the others happened to be wearing magic find gear. She was a Ranger and her pet kept the last boss standing busy long enough for her to get the others up. However according to many here that person would not have been valuable to their group and a waste of a spot as she was wearing mf gear.
Once again I will reiterate what many have tried to say here. It is not the gear that makes a person valuable to the group and the value of the gear is highly overrated when DPS numbers take precedence over everything else the person has to offer.
Well, for harder dungeons magic find hinders toughness/health/DPS etc which in turn makes the entire party get through a dungeon slower, die more often etc. Sure you can run a dungeon with half the DPS and half the survivability and succeed while everyone else does the work but my biggest issue is not being able to view other players gear/not allow magic find in a group, etc. If I saw anyone using magic find in high level fractals I would instant boot them out of my party. They need to implement a way to monitor/control MF in group settings. I’m not against MF, I’m against not having control over it when MF hinders progress.

Where is it good?
I will admit, Magic Find is actually good and I recommend to use it in some situations. I will list these situations below:
- Large scale events, such as many Cursed Shore events. This is due to them being “mass tag” events.
And thus ends that list.
Why is it bad for solo play?
Simple – You’re giving up offensive potential for an increased drop rate on certain items. So why is this bad in solo play? Also simple – less kills per hour - Less kills per hour = less loot per hour. Counter-productive isn’t it?
While it wastes time in solo play, it only wastes your own time, which you are, of course, entitled to.
TLDR; Magic Find is bad – don’t use it.
I don’t agree with this because you do realize that diminishing returns happens after so many kills in an unknown time period right? So less kills but HIGHER chance to get rarer loot IS better then killing faster with lower chance and hitting diminishing returns sooner. If diminishing didn’t exist then yes you would have a valid point.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
I say just don’t allow MF inside dungeons, simple fix. It will still be useful for events, farming etc but wont hinder dungeon play.
so what? Send some players into dungeons naked without any gear? How would that help?
Make MF not function in dungeons, so players wont use it instead of their main gear. Or have a way to turn it on/off to please everyone. Or just a way to view others gear so if we request no MF we can see if anyone isn’t listening.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Hello
I have been wondering if anet has considered adding addon options within the game like other MMOs have done. This would take the pressure off anet to try and please everyone that may want small UI changes, text changes, implemented DPS meters, squad view etc etc.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
I say just don’t allow MF inside dungeons, simple fix. It will still be useful for events, farming etc but wont hinder dungeon play. Or allow party leaders to turn off MF, so if its off it wont allow party members to use MF gear or MF wont help the player wearing it. I also think we should have a way to preview gear so we can see if people are wearing MF, because now there is no way of telling even if the party leader requested party members to not use it.

Had to test this “we are useless theory” after latets patch. Sharing my ressult.
/Osicat
Try showing some large battles and see how useful you are instead of 1 on 1/1 on 2 etc. Mesmer after patch is useless in large battles which is 90% of the time which is the problem. Now maybe if feedback had a 5 second cooldown it would compensate for the 50% confusion nerf :P
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
(edited by CrazyDuck.4610)
I hate how they nerfed confusion damage because of the stupidity of players running in and out of glamour fields while zerging.
The change affecting those small group players so much…making the build useless.
The problem with confusion was not because of the damage, but because of how it was applied. It could hit mass numbers with 1 skill.
Ya I don’t understand why they didn’t just fix how it was applied to so many people etc instead of a 50% dmg nerf. Very crazy imo.

At random times my trade post will go blank and the only way to fix it is to close GW2 and re start it.

Entropy sounds like a Thief wannabe build, this is why I quit mesmer and went thief after april 30th :P.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
THE OP IS A DEVELOPER<<< trying to figure out what to nerf next.. do not fall for it.
The most OP build for mesmer is using siege lol.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
1. Endgame dungeons and fractals, yes quite useful, though not as good as warriors/thieves for single target damage in PvE.
2. They are good in tPvP. Asking about WvWvW mesmer is a sore topic right now, their strongest zerg W3 build just got nerfed 50%… Single target damage they’re just behind thieves….
3. Decent leveling experience? Haha, not in the absolute slightest I’m afraid… Expect to cry/tear-hair/cut-self until level 40 or 60, after that, yeah, they’re just suboptimal -early on (without traits) illusion cooldowns are so high it takes a while to kill things, throw in minimal AoE potential, its not pretty… That is of course for dynamic events and solo-hearts, in the grouped aspect of pve mesmers are quite nice indeed….EDIT: That said, favorite class in an mmo-ever, very enjoyable combat!
Very well said, they are horrible in WvW/PvP now, in PVE they are “ok”. But yes they are a fun class to play, leveling is very slow though. I stopped using mine to level a thief because any range class is now only useful in melee anyways.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
I’ve tried playing a Mesmer for a couple of weeks now but am probably going to delete it. It is useless without any skills that do decent damage and the armor is useless as well since you have to fight at melee range. They also need a way to counter archers who can hit you at will with you not being able to do anything about it.
Yup 100% useless now after the confusion nerf, totally agree and not being sarcastic. Only thing they are good for now is using siege and portal bombs.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Can we have a shared WvW rank for all of our characters please. Right now its really annoying for ppl that like to play more than one character.
I 100% agree with this, it should be account wide. But I also don’t think it will happen because of what lordkrall said, people want to have different characters for different things.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
The economy in this game is just awful, rare items are ridiculously overpriced, and gold is too scarce for people to afford much without farming. Add to this that ANet seem to nerf farming spots pretty frequently and it’s just a chore.
I understand that easier gold = even higher prices, hence why the economy as a whole is screwed, I mean compare it to WoW, where yes, lots of stuff is overpriced, but the average player can more readily afford most stuff, and make gold at a good pace.
rare items are overpriced? After making map events guarantee you a rare rare items slumped in price way down. 15 silver for a rare if you’re buying it out, 8 silver if you order it. Rares used to be 30-40 silver before.
I have T3 on my elementalist and just recently afforded a flame dye. Without farming or doing anything special I can amass up to 20 gold in 2 days. People actually working for gold can amass the same sum way faster. It’s not hard to make money in this game.
Ya really, rare items IMO are very cheap. The problem now is that diminishing returns makes people “like me” have to mess with the economy by mass buying/reselling with undercuts etc for a profit.

Engineer is not bad, they’re definitely one of the harder profession to learn and be good at. It’s unpopular due to its high learning curve. But if played correctly is almost unbeatable 1v1 and can handle multiple enemies easily just like any other profession in the correct hands, the point is, the profession is great, but it’s not for everyone. In my opinion, it’s for PVP enthusiasts that want to prove how good they are by being good at a low tier profession…it’s a highly skill dependent profession, it’s like a stick shift car that can potentially run faster than automatic cars, but it takes a little more effort from the user to pull off. I’m not proficient with it yet, I’m still learning it, and it has been the most bitter sweet experience so far. This being said my top 3 are:
1. Elementalist (Staff)
2. Necromancer (Power build, Wells)
3. Guardian (Staff AOE Auto easy and simple, Boon, Might Stacking, CC/Warding)
But when you get into paddle shifting thats another story haha. But yes I totally agree with this, I have faced/teamed up with some very skilled engineers that just destroyed. I have also met very highly skilled engineers in PVP that were as you said almost impossible to kill. And how well does ele do with staff? I heard AOE damage is low, I personally don’t have one so no idea. But I haven’t had issues with them either other then that super tanky bunker build they have.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Why engis are called bad is cuz no one knows how to properly build them
People think engis are bad, because so few use them. Seeing one In wvw is like spotting an exotic animal. They’re excellent 1v1. The issue with them in Zerg vs Zerg is grenades are a liability when your opponents use a lot of retaliation. I see more engis slay themselves than get killed by that said Zerg.
Exactly the same reason why people think necros are bad, bad builds/bad players/low players/bad rap. I have seen engineers kick but in PVP but it’s very very rare.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
It’s very good because of the wells/death shroud AOE vulnerability stacking/crits. And staff does nice damage because of crit dmg so it is very viable for large zergs. You just need to be a little more “aggressive” and strip boons/stun lock/take out weaker ones aswell in melee range. It’s a very hard build to play/master I have to admit. With the right spec + food you can get constant heals aswell and can survive surprising amounts of damage. And like I said frostshade, it’s very easy to mess the build up I noticed in testing 5 points in the wrong trait would seriously hinder the build.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
No I totally agree that zerker is MUCH harder to use, this is why many people don’t do it. People think bleeds etc will suffer SO much without condition gear, but I still get 90+ dmg bleeds without any condition + gear. Plus for distant fights my staff attacks are alot stronger because of crit chance/crit dmg/power. But conditions are just SO weak and easily curable that they are only good for tagging people to get the xp, I have never died from a condition necro it just isn’t that great but 10X easier to use for sure. And the build itself is easy to mess up, even 5-10 points in the wrong area will affect a zerker necro very negatively. It took alot of testing between guild officers/myself to perfect it.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
(edited by CrazyDuck.4610)
Frost shade why ew? 116 percent crit dmg 90 percent crit chance with fury = DS/well bomb death not so ewww to me. Then after the DS vulnerability stacked, do a focus vulnerability skill and auto attack will do 3k/4k/6-8k dmg to finish them off.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Iruwen I would have to agree with the last statement for sure. Maybe confusion was a little OP but now it is just broken that’s probably the best way to describe it instead of everyone bickering at each other haha.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Oh I see what I didn’t understand, zerker gear is the best choice for a condition based class. You are such a good player you can kill zergs by yourself and guardian is a really bad support class in large groups. Yeah my tiny little brain, I must try to broaden my experience so I can fully understand your genius.
Zerker gear IS the best choice for a necro yes, I will continue to say this because conditions are broken right now and I have tested every build under the sun for necro. Just saying the damage is very high allowing multiple people to be dropped fast when I dive into a big zerg and do a quick AOE well bomb. And zastari I hope we can duel somehow, and I assure you will take that back Since you rated necro last place out of all classes in WvW backs my point even more that condition based necros are not a viable option. Top necro players do NOT use condition based gear.

I love bacon too. And, we are hustling to make this a reality. Just remember to listen to George Michael. “You’ve gotta have faith.”
Thank you for replying, very excited about this
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Nah, it isn’t worth it. I would rather my 20k aoe dmg. two wells + constant 25% speed boost.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Zastari maybe you should play necro or look it up before talking, teleport is within deathshroud which I said was on cooldown or can you not read? In that case go back to school. And the only other teleport skills are two diff pets which I dont use, the worm and shadow fiend. So stop talking about stuff you have no idea about. And the stun break I dont use because it has a crazy long cooldown and I’m well bomb spec. I was just stating the fact of thieves power is all.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
(edited by CrazyDuck.4610)
And zastari I told you, I run full berserker gear. Conditions are messed up atm so yes you would destroy a condition necro, but not a zerker necro. Very few people know how to spec/play necro properly I would say like 5% < But in mass zergs I would chose a necro over ANY other class in my opinion. For smaller groups , thief.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
(edited by CrazyDuck.4610)
I have played all mesmer builds, some are hard yes but 1on1 I never lose to a mesmer.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Guardians can live a long time yes, but a warrior can tear a zerg down. So can a necro using well bombs and death shroud aoe for 20+k dmg in seconds + AOE vulnerability stacks so maybe you should try fighting some real players.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
Yes I have, I guess you have never dueled a competent necro apparently.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
And also for groups of 10+ guardian? no way.. They have crap range etc. Warrior would outshine a guardian any day in large groups.
DragonBrand – [Agg] Aggression
I wish I could duel your mesmer 1v1 with my necro to show you really how underpowered a mesmer is now. Stunbreaker/TP has nothing to do with it, I have boon strips/stun locks, insaine AOE dmg, 116% crit dmg and with fury I have 90% crit chance. Very simple just turn off show enemy names and your illusions do not show up as nametags so they are useless in confusing me who the real target is.
