Partly? That is the main reason. Other than beta testing (which was a complete joke the other night) we have no real knowledge of the elite specs. Sure the weapon (for a skin.. just another gold sink)
The commentary we give isn’t very accurate until we actually get to test it, try it.

Me thinking a Guardian with a bow is stupid, isn’t based on anything except cosmetic. I’ve not tried the skills or their synergy with the class itself.
We’ve seen some gameplay~ but that’s not “our gameplay”. We have no idea how it will affect us as individual players what so ever.
And at this point in the development, there isn’t room for much change. They aren’t going to up and change it to a Dagger because of forum comments.

Elite spec reveals are 90% hype. Being able to figure out your new weapon skin is.. still hype..
The only feed back players can give right now is on the names since we have yet to test the skills our ourselves.

Lets say 100 people all online per guild with an active alliance chat. That’s more likely to bring more reppers at a time. So even then you are looking at 1k.. That’s more than any other map/guild will ever have by an amount of like.. 10×.. >.<

I think they should be removed since they are far too simple and provide no challenge.

Daily fractal takes a bit of time and effort and is actually perhaps worth 10 AP.

why do you people think you should be rewarded with 10 AP for doing 5 minutes of work?

these super hard difficult despised fractals are so hard that you should get 10 AP because you can’t do them/cant be bothered????

That’s not even remotely the point. Popping stab should, one would argue stop you getting knocked off.

My point was, even with 10 stacks/5 stacks of stab you can get knocked off (all stacks removed) in less than a second.
I am well aware of this, but a lot of people do struggle. The amount of time I’ve sat at the end of cliffside waiting for people to get up could have done a lot more fractals in that time.

However, I spent a few minutes testing it one day and I was just shocked at how the changes to stab, changed the way this path worked.

The first time we actually see anet making content “more difficult” is imo in Fractals. Stepping into a 50 Fractal actually sees some differences than scale 10.

Let’s ignore the instabilities for a moment and just talk about the fact that more mobs are added here or there, or some boss mechanics act slightly differently (ie. Jade maw the adds dont despawn)
This was imo a big step forward, however anet has changed tact and is going back to increasing difficulty simply by increasing the damage a mob does and the hp is has. This is not really increasing a challenge, just making a fight longer.

Lets say they introduced a Hard Mode Arah, what do you think would change? Mob placement? No too much work. Boss UI? Too much work. Boss HP? Easy to modify so yes. Boss damage? Yes easy to modify.

Anet is all about cutting corners when it comes to players that have any decent level of game playing ability.

Are we going to see new dungeons? No.
Are we going to see new fractals? Probably not, just higher tiers with the same sucky rewards.
Challenging content? Maybe some world bosses that require us to use 2/3/4/5 on our skill list instead of just 1. But I doubt it.

Totally changing my reply – scrapped the old one.

PvE guilds pretty much have to provide guild missions. Thats one of the key points a guild now has to do to get people to actively play/rep them.

Guild missions currently do not work well for smaller guilds, hence the mass recruiting/building members for numbers rather than anything else.

this is why guilds don’t work in gw2

Numbers are an actual requirement rather than anything.

It’s difficult to impossible to even get people to join a guild at the moment, harder still if it’s inactive (trying to rebuild) and harder still to get people to join a PvE guild that can’t host missions.

Guilds that require 100% rep are somewhat choking smaller guilds, due to their ability to host GMs/Form Groups/Run WvW.
Players are then stuck of they are in a 100% rep that provides GMs but they have to be on the same server if they want WvW

There are just so many flaws with guilds right now. Having an alliance chat could be good, but even 2 guilds, that’s up to 1k members. 3 guilds.. 4…5.6.. lets say 10? That’s up to 5000 people having the ability to talk in 1 channel.

That right there is an issue in itself. If someone is trolling/spamming alliance chat, how do you resolve it if none of that guilds leaders are online? If the alliance leader isn’t online?
Who is going to be alliance leader too? (In charge of 5000 people?)

I do genuinely feel guilds should be limited to 100 players again and then introduce alliances.

Guilds in gw2 generally are terrible compared to other MMOs.
There is just no commitment.

In Gw1, I knew everyone in my guild always. Even when I was relatively new to the guilds, everyone. 100 people imo was more than enough and now it’s up to 500? Really?

My favorite guilds in gw1.. Aion.. had at most 25 people in and the mainly active ones were about 1 full guild group.

It generally meant I had to wait for them to log in to do stuff, but that was okay because we had the same goals

Guilds now imo, are just an extended LFG tool with small core groups

There are very few guilds imho where everyone knows everyone and everyone shares a common goal

The hammer on Cliffside gives Stability using skill 3. This allows the hammer to be carried past 30 stacks which is very useful in terms of running it from one side of the other with a charge. Since getting stunned wastes a few seconds of said charge. For classes such as Necro/Thief without “readily available” stabilities this is somewhat a pain.
It’s not a massive issue it’s just something I feel was overlooked.

At much higher levels, utility skills are there for survival, and in sub optimal teams then these are even more important.

At the end of cliffside, using Stability to get over the traps on the bridges, with 5 stacks you can still get knocked off. This seems like it’s just not working correctly

The change has affected certain areas of PvE too.

Specifically in High level Fractals- Namely Snowblind and Aetherblade Retreat.

These two Fractals have a lot of KD in places that even with multiple stabs can be ripped through.
While I understand that these areas are meant to be difficult, things that rip off 5 stacks of Stability in a second doesn’t seem like it’s working as intended

The Hammer in Cliffside is meant to provide stability – For running the hammer through the traps/stopping getting the stun at 30 stacks. However, since the hammer only provides 1 stack of stability at a very slow rate, it is now imperative to drop a Stab Skill on your bar – especially for less coordinated groups, and sometimes even dropping a stab will have all it’s stacks removed and you’ll get KDd / Knocked off anyway

Yes I do.

However, there are events such as Wintersday/Haloween that provide additional AP every day (6 per day) the Chinese festival (4 per day) that do.

It’d surprise me if Anet continue with the way it currently works since it’s much slower right now to reach the AP cap (like a LOT slower) than it previously was.

But that’s not a bad thing. There are other ways to get AP that most people QQing about their Daily AP don’t even bother doing..

Oh Daily AP is so hard to get because I hate Fractals.

I fail to see how this is even relevant?

For the amount of time I’ve been playing / hours put in that’s somewhat a casual /age.
I am also a PvE player who dabbles in WvW and PvP- is it surprising therefore I only have 2 champ titles maxed?
Honestly given your reply I judge you didn’t even read the majority of the post.

But, if I do reply to your answer. Your solution to my problem is;

“Go grind PvP on one character to get more champion titles”

When my issue was

To please the whiney pve casuals that log in for 30 mins for their daily and claim they don’t have time for anything else; in the pve daily category it’d have to be more like EVERDAY:

But then that’d make people with full world completion cry.

So make it even easier.

But then that’d make more hardcore players cry..

Ultimately people have to understand there is a limit to how many people they can cater to every day

Excuse me. I do not daily go and look at vistas. I do not gather daily. and if it weren’t for the daily system I wouldn’t enter WvW or PvP.

I do Fractals everyday. Please explain how the daily is catered to me as a player.

The current daily system is flawed and needs a rework.

Either by being replaced by the old generic dailys

Or being reworked into a comprehensive challenge list that gives all players a chance to receive a decent reward for content a bit harder than just looking at a vista

Stop being so content with getting 10 AP. What does 10 AP do for you? Nothing.

The daily should be there to give some sort of tangible reward that leads to something good. Right now, the AP chests hardly ticks that box.

The problem is, when the new content is overshadowed by what we’re now expecting to be a fairly high price tag. it definitely will put people off returning.

Especially those, like myself that wants challenging content (such as dungeons/fractals) and not just rewarded for logging in and auto attacking a boss like a lot of people seem to be content with.

If there was even a trickle of something to give some diversity it might make the game less stale.
A new event every other month even wouldn’t go amiss. Even a rehashed event like Wintersday gets older players logging in and doing the events. Not because it’s “new”, more because it’s not the same exact thing we’ve been doing since Christmas.

I do generally feel that a lot of people on the forum and in game forget that this game has been out now for 3 years.
I think a lot of them also forget that a lot of people have been playing for 4-5 hours + Per day.
I also think they forget that the amount of content in this game isn’t actually too time consuming and does become stale.

I’ve played since the beta of gw2, but had many breaks and often play other games instead.
My total play time is less than 2.5k hours. /1k on 2nd account.

Please don’t take this as a brag post, it’s more to show a fairly common veteran player currently – People have upwards of 5k hours played so..

I have all 8 characters maxed and 80.
I have Ascended Armor on 5 characters/weapons (all 8 have ascended accessories)
The characters that don’t have ascended are in full exotics.
Nearly every character can open explorable in every dungeon.
I have map completion on 4/8 characters and nearly have the other 4 done too.
I have 5 legendaries (Eternity/Bolt/Incinerator/The Bard/Quip)
I have Dungeoneer completed and my 2nd account is 30/37 on most too (Dungeons not PvP)
I am Rank 80 with 2 Champion Titles
I have completed all the Jumping Puzzles on both accounts.
I have completed all the Personal/Living Story and the Achievements associated with them.
I have completed all the Fractal/Dry Top/Aetherblade/Silverwastes achievements
I have completed all the Trip Trouble and Tequatl achievements
I have all the EoTM achievements completed aside from the Aetherblades
I have many of the WvW achievements growing slowly but surely but I have lost a lot of interest in WvW.
I have done days upon days doing world bosses, sometimes 2 times a day using 2nd account.
I run Fractal 50 nearly every day (or 49) ankitten ow only missing 6 skins.
I was running Fractal 50+ before the update.
I have completed all dungeons in a “speed run” and just casually.

So what do I and many others have left to do in game right now?

Farm gold over and over to get my Spirit weapon achievement? Farm gold over and over to get Twice Told Legend?
There might be some collections left sure, there might be some WvW achievements out there too. But they all stem from either needing insane amounts of gold, OR insane amount of hours to achieve. This right now is pushing others, like myself away from the game.
While these are things i’d like to do, Dungeons and Silverwastes are currently (ignoring TP flipping) the most efficient ways to get gold.

For all those saying, come back when HoT is ready

Okay, so veteran players leave the game (making it less active than before)
They get on a new game and enjoy that, then see the new price tag for content in gw2 and decide to stay where they are. OR go somewhere else

That isn’t something for me to do. I want to play a game, not sit and watch 120s videos or 40min videos of people talking about how “cool they think the game will be” with absolutely no definitive information about any of it, other than draw conclusions that we as intelligent players could come to ourselves.

Uh? Can I do anything different in LA at all that I couldn’t before other than maybe listen to some new dialogue? That again isn’t me playing. Everyone complained about the amount of narrative and cutscenes in LS2. Now you’re content with a bit of dialogue as weekly content?

Np. We got the shop updates every Tuesday. Who needs content when we can farm gold for skins

Pretty sure this is another thing that is a gold sink. The only thing left to do for veteran players.

But the Xpac is soon! Just hang in there

We have no information about when the Xpac is other than it “might” be out sometime in the 3rd quarter. For all we know, Anet is going to have a week worth of different coloured wings released around the anniversary and all of them are going to have a 1 day only tag on them so everyone buys
We have not got thorough indepth information as to the entire contents of said Xpac;

Will there be new dungeons? Doubtful
Will there be new Fractals? Maybe
Will there be new instanced content (raid type?) doubtful

We have a whole Dungeon/Fractal community on the forums that I’m not even a part of crying out for new content and they are being completely ignored.
We have some exceptional PvE players that run Dungeons and Fractals with such ease and speed it really shows how this games mechanics work. Yet they are completely sidelined for the majority of players that spend 30 mins and $$$$ on the game to look pretty spamming 1 at Shadow Behemoth every day.

The issue I feel is that regardless of the size of the xpac.. They have somewhat said; No new updates/content until it comes out.

Problem then comes with all the people saying “put the game down, do something else and come back later”
Do something else, get addicted to that and then return to a game I have to pay for? Why come back?

We do need some incentive right now to keep playing. What I mean by that is something to do not just look at 120s videos of specialisations.. thats not content..

Today I learnt that all WvW players have the same mentality.

Not a single person enjoys escorting Yaks/Upgrading Keeps/Siege
Not a single person enjoys taking a keep/holding it (ppt)
No one enjoys winning WvW

All WvW’ers are represented by the OP and the only thing that matters in WvW is Zerg vs Zerg.

WvW’ers have been crying (SO MUCH QQ) for change since like a month after launch. Now you are getting it, it’s QQ THEY ARE CHANGING WVW.

To waypoint or not to WP

There was some post on Reddit that I’m sure someone better at using reddit than I can find about it.

The tests done there indicated that the game detected any player within 1800 range of a mob and scaled it up accordingly. This included dead players or even afk players.
This is purely in terms of boss fighting rather than event scaling.

However, this is only applicable up to a certain point. Bosses scale up to a cap and then wont scale any further. This means that if there are over X amount of players then waypointing out wont make any difference. The value of X will change depending on which boss it is (Tequatl will probably be different from Shadow Behemoth)

So if you’re on a very active map, the chances are you staying dead isn’t going to affect the outcome of the fight from a scaling point of view but you will be subtracting damage from the boss while people are stopped trying to res you. They might even go down while trying which means less damage on the boss and more time ressing.

Tl;DR
yes you should always waypoint if you’re dead and your own party isn’t ressing you.
however in most cases the actual scaling of the boss wont be affected

GMT and UTC is the same time always. They do not change, countries that use GMT as a timezone (England) will change to BST (British Summer Time) which is GMT +1 (UTC +1)
The two are often confused and even more so when people assume that the UK is always GMT.

Honestly, the amount of content there is going to be imo is not worth an expac.

Unless they are trolling us (like they kinda did with the Xpac.. saying no xpac then releasing one) then we wont see any sort of new dungeon/fractal.

All I am expecting in these terms is some boss rework (new defiance system) and the Fractal cap raised to 60 or 70 (new Fractal Masteries to accomodate)
This is of course assuming they don’t just bunk us all back down to 30 and don’t even bother updating the old bosses defiances (I wouldn’t be surprised if they ignored their old content, wouldn’t be the first time)

Anet have stated before, dungeons take them too much time and effort to rework so it’s unlikely we’re going to see these getting changed.
Unfortunately, the dungeons we have right now are one of the core elements of the game and I feel Anet misunderstands a lot of their players wants and needs.

At some stage open world content gets stale, especially world bosses right now. Everyone has done Vinewrath to death and skipped on doing SW farming even to get beta access.

Fractals are becoming stale, the inclusion of the LS1 steps did more harm then good. Rehashing old content instead of giving us fresh content is not a positive step to breathe live into a less popular game mode.

Dungeons are even older content, however people run these over and over day after day because it generates gold, it’s “somewhat” enjoyable and it provides “some challenge” it’s a bit different from pressing 1 over and over. However, similarly to world bosses after a time dungeons become stale. No amount of QoL changes are going to stop them being the exact same dungeons that we’ve been playing since launch.

Overall I feel anet is slowly but surely killing their game with their narrow direction of story driven content. While the living world is great, it’s not the content that will keep people playing.
I’m surprised that given their experience with GW1 they are choosing to push content that has short term replay value and ultimately wont keep players wanting to log in everyday. The content that does this, is challenging and rewarding. Fractals has the potential to do this but the reward structure isn’t quite there. Dungeons also provide challenging and rewarding content however, with no significant skill changes (even the trait change wont change too much) there is little diversity on efficient clearing. Making the somewhat difficult content a walk in the park.

We saw in GW1 people farming the Elite areas – Fissure of Woe, The Underworld and The Domain of Anguish on a daily basis. Even now (10 years after the games launch) I can still find a group wanting to speedclear FoW. Not because I need anything for Hall of Monuments, but because the instance is fun and everyone in the team enjoys the instance.

I’m pretty sure I could even get a group of players that have quit gw2 already (less than 3 years of playing) to go and clear FoW/UW/DoA randomway a lot easier than I could get them to log into GW2. (Who played from gw1 launch to gw2 launch)

I truly hope that anet can pull it off and provide us with content for the money they are charging us with this Xpac, however I’d be very surprised if this was the case.

Edit Just as an afterthought and to reply to the post above. Removing Zerker isn’t going to change the fact that dungeons/fractals are old at this point. There is little replay value and they are too directional. There is no variety other than,

AC1, Spider>Kholer(Maybe skip)>(Maybe troll – but who kills that)>Burrows for scepter>WP to Kholer> Run to 2nd scepter room>1 Person solos it>Run to boss>Kill boss

That’s how every single AC p1 run goes. There is no, do these 7 objectives in any order to win.
I guess in gw1 the dungeons were the same. However there was a lot better/rarer rewards from those dungeons so it was a bit more exciting to pop the chest.
The other thing in gw1 dungeons was that there were 18 different dungeons that (tho they did reuse a lot of maps) had very unique paths.
The dungeons we have no are 8 dungeons.. and it’s largely the same until a split.. same mobs.. same route.. it’s just all the same..
It’s really no wonder that we stack in the same spots, cuz we get to do each dungeon 3 times a day >.<

The difference was in gw1 we had areas like The Underworld which took between 30-60 mins to clear (without speedclearing) or even longer. There were multiple events that needed to be completed and if you failed said events, or all the team died, you’d have to restart.
10 Missions to complete and you had “some” options of which order to complete them in. It was a lot more interesting than simply go from A to B and if you die, np just res up!

So you farmed for an item to get into a Beta and didn’t consider that you might not be able to attend?
One would assume since Anet intentionally didn’t release any timeframe for the beta that they wanted as many people as possibly farming for one.
Maybe to test the live maps for future events etc, maybe just to screw with the playerbase or perhaps they hadn’t planned exactly when the Beta was going to be.

The point really is that it’s a beta. You farmed to have a chance of entering it to help test the game. Help find bugs and ultimately stress test it

The majority of people here complaining just wanted a preview of the game and that’s not it is even remotely about.
Anet need to monitor what’s going on so it has to be during office hours (asking staff to stay out of hours isn’t exactly feasible) hence why it’s on a weekday. That honestly was always going to happen.

One of the reasons I wasn’t worried about farming one myself was due to the fact we had no info on the beta at all – #noregrets

The daily system is terrible, a waste of anets time and they should invest in a weekly or daily challenge system that actually involved some challenge.

Actually. I want dailys that award things to actually be challenging.

Currently they aren’t. 3 Fractal dailys (Fractal daily – 41-50 – Fractal… Agony… survivor…)
would be way better than any of the kitten pve dailys we got right now..

Please also note, even the most die hard WvW’ers don’t have all the WvW achievements maxed, not “that” many have all the PvP titles maxed (infact it’s probably less than 1% of pvp players)
These are players that have been playing since the start of the game too.

Those historical achievement points that were missed, also were during the time Monthly/Dailys gave achievement points (daily gave 12) so without those, the progression of AP right now is at the lowest it has probably ever been.

Also, for a new player, they have to purchase LS2 (invested gold sink) which slows the process down even more.

Saying that new players have a chance is a bit redundant imo.

While there is a daily cap, a new player now will take 5 years to get to the cap, whereas the game having been out less than 3 years people are already at the cap. – This somewhat seems wrong to me. I wouldn’t mind if a new player could catch up in the same time it took others, but now it takes nearly 2 years worth of dailys longer. (Will take probably 1 year longer due to holidays etc)

I’m one of those that did farm for the portal stone and didn’t get one.
I’m one that complains on the forums all the time because I disaprove of no content in 3 months.
Yet I’m still here defending anet because it’s a voluntary beta test that no one forced on you.
Farmed in SW for days gaining gold/materials/karma – 100% wasted time.

Beta testing is voluntary. No one is forcing you to do it and no one forced you to farm one.
If you’re someone with a busy time table it would have made sense for you to think that perhaps, you might not be able to participate.

As someone that is well versed in beta testing, finding/reproducing and reporting bugs it upsets me that a lot of my friends have beta access while I do not. Considering their chatter about it; they just think it’s early access/previewing the game.

These people at least in my opinion are worthless numbers in the beta since all they are going to do is play and then log off giving no input other than a logged in user during the test.

HoT will likely be a serial code application. Similarly to how you register your account in the first place.
You will add the serial code to your account and presto~ (Similarly to all things, 1 serial code per account)

Bugs and the upcoming beta test

Most people that got the HoT Portal/Invite to the beta will sit and play it as if it’s early access.
Few will actually find bugs, try to reproduce them and actually report them to Anet

(This is the purpose of a beta test by the way – at least it is imo)

It’s just a shame that people who farmed DryTop/Silverwastes to try to actually beta test the new expansion will miss out vs players that will spend the time playing and “having fun”.

I’m not against having fun, but that’s not what at least in my opinion a beta is for

People already roll for Swamp Fractal (I dislike this concept)

But if this was an option it’d force people into running a meta fractal speed run.

Swamp/Ascalon/Thaumanover/Molten Duo – All the time. (I expect)

And that’d just be boring. The fact that after Swamp/Cliffside/Dredge you then get Mai Trin is just <3

Currently, players not having completed all the monthlys and completing a lot of the dailys prior to the monthly removal and the daily change are at a significant disadvantage to gaining AP right now.

Right now, we’re only able to obtain 10 AP per day, to reach the cap (15k) it will take 5 years from 0. The game hasn’t yet been out for 3 years and we’re already seeing people very close to the daily cap limit (if not already at it) this is due to holidays and monthly caps (not sure if Monthly/daily has been merged yet)

LS1 and old festivals are also locked AP wise. Every halloween and wintersday provides all players with a new set of achievements (the old ones aren’t affected) and everyone gains the new AP. There is no way new players can access those old achievements thus locking them off from a lot of the AP that 18k players have.

So while eventually yes, if a new player completes all the achievements in game (something no player has done since launch) they will eventually reach 30k chests etc, the rate of gaining that AP is currently much slower than it was before.

I personally am at 11k AP (on main account) and I’m struggling to find any way to increase my AP actively. I’ve got some of the PvP Champion titles left, WvW achievements and Some of the Weapon masters and thats all I have left. So realistically for my (as someone who has missed a lot of festivals/LS1) gaining AP above 11k is quite difficult since I am missing 11k worth of dailys/monthlys and have none of the LS1/Festival achievements.

The difficulty here is that there are a lot of achievement points that are no longer obtainable. This presents a problem of its own for new players that they will never be able to catch up.

While the daily system being capped is a good thing, the fact that the monthly has been removed (however joined with the daily cap) means that it will take new players years to catch up just on the dailys alone.

While those currently at the cap for AP (daily) are not gaining anything on holiday dailys/regular dailys. Those that do, still have a very long time to go.

I believe the cap is currently 15k. While a lot of players are reaching this (I think) or getting close to, people like myself who at launch didn’t complete every daily and then took a large break from the game will have to complete dailys every day for the next 3 years to catch up.

1 years worth of break and missing out on nearly 1000 days worth of dailys seems to be a bit broken.(Due to monthly AP being unobtainable now) For new players this is even more of a concern

While I’m not saying new players should be able to instantly get up to 10/20/30k AP, there should be a viable way for them to achieve it in the same timeframe that those already at those numbers did. Currently, the AP gain is significantly slower and since there is no longer a way to complete LS1 achievements the new players are at an even greater disadvantage.

I guess perhaps, this system could accompany the daily system.. or something.

My worry right now is, that a lot of people (even myself at times) log in to do the daily and then log out. I get for some people who have time constraints the new system wouldn’t particularly cater to them. My suggestion here isn’t a finished version, but more an idea to spark change in the way we are rewarded.

Scrap the current reward system for the dailys.
A lot of people do, log in for daily. Maybe idle in Lions Arch for an hour or two and then log out.

Replace the dailys with very simple tasks (non specific)

Daily Gatherer
Daily Vista Viewer
Daily Reviver
Daily Dungeon Completer
Daily Dodger
Daily Fractal Completer

Daily PvP Winner
Daily PvP Killer
Daily PvP Defender
Daily PvP Capturer

WvW Defender
WvW Tower Capture
WvW Yak Killer
WvW Yak Escort
WvW Land Claimer

Only 3 of these are required to complete the daily as is now but all are available every day.

These are things that the majority of people will do every day.

Perhaps this system could be a weekly challenge ~

This would perhaps be similar to the Monthly system – however instead of awarding AP it gave out some decent Rewards.

Every week the challenge list could be:

21-30 Fractal – Reward = +5 Agony Infusion
31-40 Fractal – Reward = +8 Agony Infusion
41-50 Fractal – Reward = +10 Agony Infusion or.. Fractal Weapon Chest or.. something..

Complete the Skritt Jump Puzzle = Exotic Item ~Including Precursors/Collection items (Skritt steal things so from like Jormags chest/Orr chests)

Complete Scavengers Chasm = Again scavenger’s chasm, could be exotic items or rare items for collections.

Kill the Vinewrath = 200 Bandit Crests or..10 Bandit champ bags

Kill Tequatl = Additional Champ Bags or a guaranteed Exotic (ie. the Mini/Fang)

Trip Trouble = Additional rewards

Sorry to WvW/PvPers my creativity for your challenges is kinda 0 :c
But as I said, this isn’t a finished idea

Win 20 PvP Matches (not hot join)= Special Reward Box with Tribal Armor/Weapon skins (pick one)
Win 10 PvP Matches as 1 class (not hot join) (any class, just 10 wins on that same class) = Exotic box for that class
Kill 50 Players (not hot join)= 20 PvP Potions
Capture 50 points = 10 pvp potions

Capture SMC 10 times = 5 Kegs of World Exp
Capture a Keep 20 times = 20 Superior Siege of choice (10 golems)
Capture a Tower 30 times = 30 Basic Siege of Choice (15 golems)

Since the “new” daily inception there has been a lot of complaints.

These come from people wanting more freedom, more variety or diversity or people that just want it easy.
My big issue with the new daily system is frankly that we are gaining achievement points. We are achieving something – hence the name. But what really are we achieving in our dailys?

Daily Gatherer
Daily Vista Viewer
Daily Mystic Forger

Are these really achievements worth getting points for?

So what is my suggestion to this?

Remove the current daily system on accounts that have reached a set level of AP ~ My suggestion for this would be 2000 AP. By this point I feel most players have a decent understanding of the game. They would get their 2k AP chest and understand the basics of how AP is gained.

Replace the dailys with more challenging content that has a large variety of options.
These are just some examples of what could potentially replace the current daily ideas~
I am suggesting having 8~ per day per section and having

Only 2 of any of these dailys would be required per day

PvE~
-Specific Jumping Puzzle / Specific Jumping Puzzles that are deemed “tricky” (silverwastes/scavenger’s chasm type ones)
-Fractals Scale (30+/40+50+)
-Dungeon Explorable Path (70+ dungeons only [or 80..]) CoF/CoE/Arah/HoTW.. I guess any dungeon exp path could be included in this
-Ascended Crafting Material (Ties in with the daily anyway and does require SOME player input)
-Daily Dry Top event completer (Swap with Silverwastes/Southsun/Frostgorge/Orr – Only 80 zones)
-Daily Tequatl/Trip Trouble/Vinewrath (Only the “hard” world bosses)

PvP~ I’m lacking creativity for WvW/PvP dailys i’m sure others can think of more challenging ones

Rank Up ~ 10k Rank points
PvP Defender ~ 10 players
PvP Stomper ~ 10 stomps
PvP Winner ~ win 10 games in PvP

WvW~ I’m not a WvW’er I’m sure other people can think of more challenging WvW daily tasks

Keep Capturer
Rank Up ~Minimum of 5 Ranks
Siege Master ~ Minimum of 100 supply used on building Siege
Repair Master ~ Minimum of 100 supply used on Repairing

The idea of these honestly, is to make people actually put some time and effort in for their achievement points.
I am aware most people will tell me this is a stupid idea. That they want to complete their daily and get their AP without it interrupting their game play, but why do they really need that AP.. and what are they even achieving by doing their daily :/

Rewards for these could be increased accordingly. However, people are getting 10 AP for their daily which is the reward at the end of the day.

For a Fractal 30, the reward could be a +5 Agony Infusion. For a Fractal 40, it could be a +8, and for a Fractal 50 it could be a +10.
Or, for a fractal 50 it could be a Fractal Weapon Chest :o! ~Throwing it out there you know.

For PvP Rewards we could see 10~PvP reward potions or 15. It could give a chest containing a Tribal Armor Box ~

For WvW Rewards we could see Superior Siege boxes- containing 10x whatever superior siege item you wanted (5 golems) Or we could see Kegs of Liquid World Experience.

I get these rewards are probably way over scaled to the actual dailys. But in my opinion these would be the incentives to play the more “challenging” or more “time consuming” dailys.

Right now we have people wanting the easy options that take less than 5 minutes. Then they log off until the next day.
These rewards for the higher teirs of the game actually give people something to aim for.

Oh people get a reward for doing a 30+ Fractal? Maybe I’ll push up to 30+ Fractal.
Oh people get a nice reward for doing events in Dry top? Maybe I’ll do some Dry top events.

Right now, the rewards are too generic and there is no incentive to do the “difficult” dailys. There is no reason to both with anything “difficult”.

~As I’ve said, I know this wont get a look in by developers. I know the entire forum base is going to condemn me for thinking we need to actually work for AP. But at least I suggested it :c~

Why is Double Daily Fractal still happening?

I’ll admit. That the fractal daily is probably a mask to the obvious problem fractals is right now. They have also stated that there really isn’t anything coming to dungeons in the near future.
They have however said that Fractals is getting something with HoT. This would be my logical reasoning as to why Anet are at first glance “trying” to get some interest in Fractals. I’m not saying they are going about it the right way.

The rewards are terrible so anet mask it with the double fractal reward.

People here honestly just want things that are easy and they can do without leaving Divinitys Reach.

Be honest, lets look at another example.

How many people would honestly rather

-go into the world, complete maps/dungeons/events to unlock all the traits
-pay 35 gold / 400 skill points to unlock them all
-pay 13 gold to unlock them all

Every single person, would honestly spend the 13 gold. I have absolutely no doubt if presented with all 3 of these options. Everyone would pick the 3rd one, because it’s the cheapest and easiest one.

Most People (PvE’ers) honestly want these 3 dailys in their line up..

Mystic Forge – Daily Gatherer – Daily Vista Viewer

This is because they are easiest and require little to no effort. Why are these even remotely worth 10 AP please can you explain this to me?

How does doing these 3 tasks warrant 10 AP?

PvPer’s will PvP and WvW’ers will WvW most of the time. They might pick up a quick PvE daily to get their last one but pure PvPers probably wont even care about 10Ap, neither will WvWers.

I honestly think if the daily consisted of something different for PvE options..

Daily Silverwastes Jumping Puzzle
Daily Fractal 30+/40+/50
Daily Arah/CoE/Level 70+Dungeon) Explorable Path
Daily Dry Top Event Completer
Daily Ascended Crafting
Daily Orichalcum/Omnomberry(t6plant)/Ancient Wood Gatherer

More difficult challenges then I might think that doing these tasks was worth 10 AP. Until they reflect some sort of challenge then I would prefer double Fractal daily since it requires some time and effort put into the game. Not just “oh look at my 10 AP for staying in Lions Arch”

All these circlejerking “Zerk 5k AP+” probably got most of their AP from dailys anyway. Let’s actually introduce a challenge into them. Not just make them kitten friendly.

It’s not far away from it.
People complained levelling was too hard, so they made it easier.
People complained AC was too hard. So they made it easier.
People complained WvW mapping was too hard. So they removed it.
People are complaining mapping is boring and shouldn’t be required to play a character – So anet will remove waypoints being a locked feature of the game?

Where do we draw the line on how kitten easy we want this game? I mean really. You are telling me you can’t be bothered to play a game you paid for. That’s the simple truth of it.

WvW maps should be part of map completion.
Tomes of Knowledge / Crafting / EoTM(zerg levelling) / Dungeon alt levelling should be removed.
Scrolls of Knowledge should be removed.
Traits should be gained using the 3 books we had in 2012 at the games launch.
Fractals should give better rewards. Blabla.

Fractals need to just go away. Some people love them but others, like me, hate them. A set of dailies with two fractals means only 2 pve options are valid.

Gathering just needs to go away. I don’t feel it’s worth a third of 10 AP.
